We were looking for someplace that did low boils - and we found a place!! Shake Shake seafood does low boils for everyone individually making sure that everyone gets what they want! The seafood was cooked to perfection and was delivered promptly. Three things I would recommend to improve on: paper towels instead of napkins; make the fried calamari starter a larger portion; and make sure people eating crabs have the necessary tools when the meal is served. The waitress was not friendly at all. It seemed as if she was tired of dealing with us and we just got there. I told her we had a few people in our party who never visited. I asked her for water and she said okay but are you going to be ready to order by the time I get back. The only time she seemed happy was at the end when it was time for her tip. I gave her 15%. My husband and I are from Grand Junction Colorado and we do not have anything like this restaurant here. We went into this establishment while we were in North Carolina and I have to say the experience was absolutely phenomenal! The staff was attentive and gracious, they even took a photo for us as we were trying to o it ourselves. We each got a seafood boil and everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. This review is overdue. I stopped by on Saturday, 12-31-22. I was leaving Target & wanted dinner from a new spot to end the year. I picked a good time to go as they were not very busy. I ordered the shrimp hot with all the seasonings. I also added a side of hush puppies; they were ok but I probably wouldn't order them again. Full of surprises. First the meal comes in plastic bag, fully cooked. I had shrimp and sausage which turned out to be 14 shrimp in shells (no heads) and kielbasa slices, several small cooked red potatoes and 1/2 a corn on the cob in what I chose - a garlic and butter sauce. There were many other choices esp. of fish, seafood etc. and sauces It was delicious. We also had a large glass of draft beer - well, you can't be unhappy with that. Service was fast and good. Went here for an early Mother's Day feast and I am so glad we did. Food was phenomenal especially with the "juicy" seasoning. We had shrimp, crawfish, lobster, and crab. Kids had fun digging in and everything was cooked to perfection. And now to our server. DeSean (I hope I spelled it correctly ) was just the sweetest guy. He was so pleasant taking our order, so helpful with all my husbands questions, joked around with my girls, and never stopped having a smile on his face. My first time trying the lobster which was rubbery, potato was hard.The only thing was was good was the dungeon crab and the corn. This was our first visit so she explain what the most popular items were and what her favorites were. We got the Crab and Shrimp Bag. Per the hostess suggestion, we add sausage. We stopped in four a quick lunch today and boy were we surprised. I wasn't expecting much since we went here for my 9yr old to have crab legs. At $24 for a pound they were pricey but were unbelievably good. 2 perfectly cooked large cluster came with his order and along with the ear of corn was just perfect. WOW. Amazing. I would have given five stars if they cleaned the poop shoots of the shrimp properly. It totally grosses me out and I will sit there scraping it out with a mussel shell because I spent $80 bucks on seafood and it tastes freaking fabulous. The Shake Shake Seafood is the real deal. We arrived there about 1:30. Service was great. Me being in a chair temporary, one of the servers came out to assist us with getting into the establishment. After being quickly seated we ordered the shrimp and black mussels combo which comes with a potato and a ear of corn, another combo with shrimp and sausage and a side of fried shrimp. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Our spice was medium and our seasoning was the combination of Cajun and butter garlic. When I tell you this place is the real deal and I must try believe. The fried shrimp were so good they didn't need any tarter or sauce. So glad we stumbled on the Shake Shake Seafood turning around in there parking lot. Thank you to the maitre d for wheeling me out to my vehicle. I recommend they put their sign on the main road. Can't wait to go back. Sorry no pictures. This was my third time there since it opened. The first two times there was for the lunch menu and it was great! For 11$ you get a full meal of seafood which is unheard of. The service was good took but not that busy. Today 3/6/20 we went there for their dinner service and it was terrible right from the start. The prices are higher which is expected. My wife ordered a salad cause she does not eat seafood. The sale was $8 and literally was three cucumber slices four tomato 1/4s and some greens but very small.we ordered apps and our dinner came before the apps and the server stated that's how they do things there..... I said ok thank.... at the point the server became completely unavailable. I gave it three stars based on my lunch experiences there previously and will go back at least once more for dinner. So, our family decided to visit the Shake Shake Seafood Restaurant, and we had a delightful first experience. Shake Shake Seafood is more like a low country boil type seafood restaurant, vs the normal fried Fish Camps that we are familiar with here in this area. Based off of what my family ordered, all of our food tasted excellent! I ordered the Crab leg, Shrimp, Sausage Boil Combo, and had it prepared Cajun Style. The flavor was unreal!!! I had the snow crab legs this time, but look forward to the king option on our next visit. The rest of the family all ordered fried options, and ate almost every bite! The sweet potato waffle fries were a good starter for us, and we got them well before the actual meal came out. They were served with a brown sugar, and cinnamon spread! The service was friendly and the restaurant's appearance is quite nice! The bar area beautiful, and some classic yet modern machine video games are by the bathrooms for the kiddos. We will definitely be going back. However, I would recommend that they add a few more grilled fish options, and fried flounder. They should add tuna, mahi mahi, grouper, sea bass, etc, for those folks watching their belt lines. By doing this and keeping their food delicious, they should have a long and healthy business life! read more
