Absolutely amazing seafood boil and fairly priced as well compared to others I've visited. The food came out quick and the FLAVOR?! Wow!!! I did 1/2 lb shrimp and 1/2 lb sausage and almost tapped out For my seasoning choice I did Juicy(all mixed) & mild spice level which wasn't too spicy it was the perfect touch. But if you can handle spicy then go up in level lol I can't wait to come back again! So. Worth it! read more

This place is located near Southpark Mall and has lots of seating inside. It's a casual place with average prices for seafood boils. We got a fried fish and shrimp platter and a crab boil. We thought the crab boil could've had more seasoning and butter like other places do. We didn't enjoy things like the boiled eggs due to the lack of seasoning. The fried fish platter was okay. The shrimp was better than the fish. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quick though. read more

Stopped by with a coworker after work and grabbed some crab legs at Yummy Crab! First time stopping by; the vibe was good and service was good. They had $5 Lemon Drops special at the time. I wanted to start with their fried calamari but it never came to the table so I was a little let down from that. I ordered the Combo D which came with 1/2 lb shrimp and a pound of crab legs and the Cajun seasoning was really good and had the right amount of spice to it. I wished the crab legs were bigger honestly for the price. read more

I had an amazing time at yummy crab, the dj was on point, the bartender (DJ) was on point and very attentive, the food was amazing. I have no complaints. The only thing I will say was that there was a big weight, but it was a Saturday night and it is tax season so I can't even blame them. I will be back! read more

We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find they offer different specials on different days for lunch and dinner. We ordered the snow crab leg lunch special and a fried catfish basket, both of which were very tasty. The snow crab we chose the all-spice sauce, which was especially delicious! The snow crab leg bag contained one egg and a potato. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. They also provide plastic aprons, gloves, and plenty of napkins, making it okay to be a bit messy without getting dirty. Plenty of parking spaces. We will definitely return! read more

I've walked in on two occasions on a casual slow Tuesday afternoon and a busy house on a Saturday night after Black Friday. The service was quick and friendly, my mom forgot her order a couple of times and the server was patient and friendly. The food does not disappoint as well as neither does the music. Most sports channels are put on the far back side of the location. Juicy and plentiful to share, it was 4 of us and we got 3 bags of the letter B. read more

SO SO SO GOOD!!! Even take out... I was shocked! I got 1/2 lb all mixed mild and oh. my. god. the definition of finger licking good. The flavor the seasoning the bag of crab. Absolute ten out of TEN. I can only imagine how mind boggling this would be fresh. I will certainly go back. I recommend getting rice to soak up the juice and boiling some eggs at home!! Also: get gloves. she gets messy read more

We are on the hunt to find the best seafood boil in Charlotte. This was our first time at the Yummy Crab and we ordered the monday special which was snow crab and shrimp and I added sausage. I'm in North Carolina for the week and was really craving a good seafood boil. I found Yummy Crab and walked out raving about it! The boil was amazing I got the Cajun Hot seasoning, and it was so good. The spice level and flavor were absolutely perfect. Our server, I believe her name was Jalisa, was so kind and attentive. She checked on us the perfect amount without being overbearing. Service was quick, and they provided gloves and a bib, made the experience even better. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean, and I loved the music choice as well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely come back! read more

I was there last Thursday because it was my birthday, food was amazing not even going to lie and the service was OKAY. My only issue with this place is, they charged me 17 dollars for tip on my bill which I don't really mind but since when do they pick the tip I have to leave? And then when I paid in the front desk and signed the receipt the day after I looked at my bank account and saw a 121.73-dollar charge when the bill I signed at the restaurant was 105.58. This place will steal your money because is unbelievable how they took an extra 16 dollars for they pocket. Called the store yesterday and the worker told me that she couldn't do anything for me without receipt then I asked her to speak with the manager and at least she gave me a solution. I went today and the front desk lady was on the store phone the whole time we had the interaction, and I told her the situation, and she came back with 13 dollars in cash I WANTED MY MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT not in cash!!!!! This place is good for the food but terrible with this situation i want an extra solution because they gave me less money than the one they took!!! This is the first time this has happened in all my time being a customer here ... unfortunately I will not be coming back.... read more

Had a two pounds of really good seafood and orange soda. How could you want anything else?

We were on the hunt for seafood and decided to give Yummy Crab a try as the prices seemed more reasonable than some other places and who doesn't love a good boil!? The staff was friendly and helpful in showing us the ropes since it was our first time. He explained that you choose your meat (or a combo) and that it would come with potatoes, corn, and an egg. Both of us went with the pound of shrimp. You also had your choice of sauces and we went with the mixed and it did not disappoint...amazing flavors! You can also pick your spice level. I chose medium, while my husband chose hot. I am one that can tolerate a little spice, but don't want it to be painful to eat! . The medium definitely had a kick to it, but was just about right for me. We read a review about the portion sizes being small. I totally disagree! We ordered sweet potato fries as an appetizer because we were hungry, but at the end of the day, we took home leftovers because we couldn't finish our boils! Probably would have been perfect amount without the fries. Back to the boil!! Fun presentation coming out in the bag. They also brought a bucket for scraps, gloves, and bibs. Table was lined with paper for easy clean up. No way around it...it gets a little messy, but they set you up for success! The flavors were fantastic, quality shrimp, and amazing corn! 10/10 recommend! Also had a bar and drink menu if you are interested. TVs throughout...basketball was on while we were eating. Great place! read more

My friend and I were craving a seafood boil so we decided to try yummy crab and do takeout. I ordered a pound of snow crab legs and a pound of crawfish. It was a lot of food. I decided to get all of the sauces mixed together and It was a great choice. The sauce definitely sank to the bottom, so you had to mix It up really well and I felt as though the spices didn't soak into the crab legs and things as well as I would have liked but overall It was a great meal. read more

Can you say DELICIOUS! While staying at a nearby hotel, I told the attendant I was pescatarian and she recommended Yummy Crab! I am so glad she did! I got the fried shrimp basket and the shrimp was fried light and crispy almost to perfection. I asked to substitute the fries for fried okra, and they politely declined I'm so glad- the fries are so good! I'm sure the okra is too, but I ate so many fries, I couldn't finish my shrimp. Thanks to the Yummy Crab staff for cooking such good food. I will be back in town next week! See y'all then! read more

Yummy Crab - Fried shrimp basket! Devoured!!! - Seafood Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

My sister grabbed 2 bags of seafood for our girls night in and we loved every bit! In our bags we had one mild and one medium spicy. Both bags had 1/2 pound Snow Crab and Shrimp heads off and one bag had Black Mussels and the other had 1/2 pound Smoked Sausage. There were red potatoes and corn in each bag as well. There was plenty of food for us four to share. The sauce was amazing and there were large pieces of garlic in the sauce of each bag. The medium spicy definitely had some kick to it. For togo orders they do provide you with gloves and wet wipes. Yummy crab is the closest boiling seafood spot to our house so we will definitely be back! Today was their grand opening and I typically give a business a couple days/weeks to get it together before I go but dinner ended up being really enjoyable. As a group of 3 we were greeted and sat immediately. They had tons of staff working tonight. I'm talking like 15 people just out in the open and waiting to do something. There were on two other tables dining in and one lady waiting for take out. Our waitress was very nice and was familiar with the menu and offerings. We ordered hush puppies for an appetizer, the combo fried basket A (subbed out the oyster for more shrimp and added flounder) and the snow crab and shrimp crazy seafood combo. All of the food was served hot and came out within like 10-12 min after ordering. Hush puppies came out quicker as they were the appetizer. My only complaint was the calamari was super overcooked and not really edible. There were only 5 pieces in the basket so I didn't worry about complaining about it. Towards the end of the meal the GM did come over to the table and I mentioned it to him and he acknowledged they were working on getting it right but that's about it. Food was good. My friend really enjoyed her crab legs and we all enjoyed the flavor and size of the shrimp. They offer several different kinds of dipping sauces to go with your meal so that of course added flavor. The fries have this really good seasoning on them and they were delicious. I thought the bucket, bibs and wet wipes was cute too. We all didn't order that messy boil bag combo but the waitress brought enough for the table which was nice. They didn't have any kind of grand opening specials or anything so we paid full price for everything but the pricing is reasonable. read more

Very disappointed with the food. I did the lunch special of the shrimp and a side of rice. I guess it's cool that it comes with a corn, egg, and potato but I only had 8 pieces of shrimp and for $18 that's not worth it. Also I can tell the shrimp is not fresh, it was just frozen shrimps. I got mild spice but it tasted like no spice and I was going based off other reviews that said mild was hot already. Won't be coming back here again. Only tried it since it was close to hotel read more

No craft beer of any type. Bar was just to busy with construction workers , it's to bright and noisy to sit there. The inside is very generic and not interesting. Some wood pilings with rope screwed onto them. Badly done. Small flatscreens everywhere. Mixed drinks need lots of help. Floor is slippery. Service very good. Seafood was a good amount but only fair. You get a bucket with a plastic shopping bag for shells, plastic bib, plastic gloves, and wet naps. I don't know about you but I don't eat dinner dressed in plastic. And then dinner comes in a plastic bag? What'sup with that? I asked if I had to eat it out of the bag, "some people do, some pour it onto the tray." Wow, I wasn't sure if I should carry it home or not. Wait, I'm eating at the restaurant, so why can't they provide some customer service and serve it properly like a good restaurant? Have you been to the coast and found a shack next to the fishing docks, with large pots and picnic tables? The chef prepares the seafood then spreads it across the table. You sit down and go to town on wonderful, flavorful, fresh seafood. Yummy Crab is NOT that place. It's a want to be. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to yummy crab. They have really improved from the last time I went last year. I got the dozen steamed oysters with the Cajun sauce and they were amazing. We also ordered the coconut shrimp... if you order them ask for the chili sauce to go with them. It gives them that extra umph. You can't go wrong with whatever seafood boil you decide on. I enjoyed my strawberry mimosa. It had actual pieces of strawberry in it. I will never drink a regular mimosa again.
