    Jukebox

We selected the Shake Shake Seafood restaurant due to its distinctive Jukebox feature, which perfectly complemented our Mother's Day celebration. Upon arrival, we curated a playlist of our favorite tunes on the Jukebox, accompanied by orders of drinks and a Fried Calamari appetizer. Opting for variety, we chose the shrimp, snow-crab, and black mussel combo shaker bag along with a fried shrimp basket. Notably, one female patron was inspired to rise from her seat and dance briefly as our selected music played, creating a convivial atmosphere that likely enhanced the experience for all Mother's Day attendees. The cuisine was outstanding, and the boiled seafood shaker bags came with a selection of seasonings and spice levels, though I don't recall ours specifically. The seafood in the shaker bag was cooked to perfection, and the fried seafood was both tasty and crispy. If I were to offer a suggestion, the corn on the cob in the shaker bag might have benefited from slightly less cooking time. We emptied the bag, save for the juices, and even ordered hush puppies to enjoy with the remaining broth. Our server was exceptional, providing unhurried service, keeping our beverages replenished, and ensuring an overall memorable Mother's Day experience.

Came on a Sunday afternoon. Place looks clean but the Ladies room had a terrible smell and was not clean. I saw several air freshners in there and it was not helpful! I did inform the hostess. Our server was ok. He tried to balance handling the bar and waiting on some tables but the bar patrons received faster attention. My daughter's order was not correct and it was quickly fixed. Modifications and requests were handled well. I agree with my daughter that the vibe was off here. I am not sure if I will return.

It was awesome. Had a craving for a seafood boil. Excellent service and attention to detail. Full bar on the center with seating all around. I actually made a mistake with my GPS by misspelling the name in the direction address. Thank you Waze! Expansive menu with both fried and boiled. Fried baskets of chicken tenders, shrimp, fried fish & wings. The boiled seafood with seafood combos or make your own. Mine was crab legs, mussels, sausage, eggs, corn and potato. It was delicious with the juicy special. Think garlic, butter, Cajun with some heat. Great experience with friendly service. I will go back very soon

Food was alright, I would probably go spicier next time. Service was pretty slow though, and I say this as a server. We sat around for a while waiting to get attended at our table on a pretty slow night. Server only came back with food and when we had to checkout.

The best seafood in town! Portions are huge. You won't go away hungry. Amy our waitress went above and beyond to make us feel at home and part of the family.

It's hard to stick out in the over saturated seafood boil market, someone really needs to shake things up :) I decided to treat myself to seafood, and my options were plentiful. I decided on Shake Shake due to it's awesome location next to "Marsh Park" a very nice green way trail area to go to after stuffing your face here. My initial thoughts of the dining space isn't anything special, it's decently large with a very nice spaced out bar in the middle. It's very well lit with lots of booths for couples and groups, the standard table set up is still there of course. It was nice to see the well mapped handicap accessible walk way into the restaurant also. I decided to check out the lunch menu, I picked the calamari lunch basket with fries and hush puppies. I paired that with a fried shrimp and flounder dinner portion. The calamari was excellent and well seasoned, the shrimp were on par with the calamari. The flounder while delicious were a bit heavy on the batter and light on the actual protein. Outstanding bake on the entire basket, including the cajun fries (not spicy just right amount of seasoning). The hush puppies tasted a bit flat, they needed a note of sweetness or garlic...but more than just hot corn meal. While I can't speak for the crab boil portion of the menu, I can say Shake Shake does most things right for 10.00 fried calamari or shrimp basket's with an ample amount of fries and a couple hush puppies included...you'll feel like you had a decent lunch break. My server/bartender worked dual shifts and she did it flawlessly. I wasn't able to capture her name but amazing job! I'll be back partly because the customer service was also 5 stars. Pro Tip: Items such as crabs are market price, and this is a volatile market currently. Avoid the sticker shock, dont be afraid to call in and see what the rates are for the fresh seafood items before you arrive.

This used to be my favorite seafood boil restaurant, well the independence location. Today that changed. I ordered a pound of shrimp. Almost half of them weren't clean. When I informed the manager he shrugged his shoulders and said "we'll we order them deveined". I couldn't even eat them. He charged full price and offered no apology. My server said that was the second time that someone complained about the shrimp that day, and his response was the same. He didn't even offer an alternative option. If I visit again, it will be the independence location.

We are coming from California and found this place by mistake and I got to say it was the biggest ever! The place is amazing great people and the food was so delicious Dazsha our server was very patient and suggested some awesome food! We definitely hit the spot when ever we are in town!!

Great flavors. Great portions. Great drinks. Checked all the boxes for me. Solo dining while on business. Sat at the bar and Antonio was bartending. I went all in on the Lobster tail, Snow Crab, Shrimp special. Heat level medium - will opt for hot next time. Juicy special flavoring. Mmmm, mmmm! Delicious! Though I'm not deducting a start for it, I would have preferred a metal fork and real plate rather than the plastic and styrofoam provided, but hey, it's pretty much an eat with your hands experience.

Stopped by here on Saturday afternoon to see what the buzz was about. I sat at the bar and ordered the shrimp, crab and lobster combo. It was a $35 special. Yes he bar tender told me to get the juicy seasoning with the medium spice level. I don't know what is I'm that juicy seasoning but I would put that sh!t on everything. It was really good. I might go back today. Breaking the crab up was a little difficult and very messy. Not gonna say it was worth it. Would I go back again. 100000%. In fact I went back a few days later and got the shrimp and sausage. It was really good and no where near as messy as the crab and lobster. If you're considering this place you should jump in your car and go. Stop questioning it. Just go.

Has anyone else noticed the trend toward these seafood restaurants where they do the 'boil in the bag' concept? To me it's a take off on the low country boil or crawfish boils down Louisiana Way. It's usually shrimp and something else, like crawfish, sausage or crab. I checked this place out today for lunch and found it was just OK. For lunch they have a special where you get a half pound each of shrimp & crawfish and includes a potato and corn on the cob. The shrimp were OK size, the crawfish were tiny. A small potato and small piece of corn on the cob. It was disappointing. The service was good and the price was OK but I doubt I'll be back.

Being from California, we did not think our sushi standards could be topped, but this place completely proved us wrong. Some of our favorites were the salmon belly, the red snapper sampler, the yellowtail, and the slam on hand rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. We also loved that they had Echigo beer, which is not easy to find and was a great addition to the meal. One thing that really stood out was how well balanced everything was. Nothing felt overwhelming or heavy, and every dish felt thoughtfully put together. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the rolls here. I could not recommend this place more. An amazing experience from start to finish.

It had a Michelin 2025 sticker on the front door so I thought it would be amazing. I want to say that the service was excellent. Very attentive servers, very professional, very friendly. The service was 5-stars for sure. Next, the food. We started with the miso soup and ginger salad. Miso soup was bland and the ginger dressing on the salad was super bland. We ordered the crispy spicy tuna and the steamed shumai next. The crispy spicy tuna was weird. The first taste bud stimuli was fishy and the last thing you tasted was McDonald's hashbrowns. Also, the chopsticks were very cheap and when you picked up the piece it basically fell apart. The presentation for the steamed shumai was horrible. It was served in a bowl with the chili garlic sauce in a tiny bowl on the side. The pieces were wayyy too big to pick up with the chopsticks and for the mouth. But if you managed to get the thing in your mouth, it was super hot and basically burned your mouth. Like there was no option to take a bite it was either shove the whole thing in your mouth or not eat it at all. The rolls we ordered were the Mr Crabby, which was the only good thing we ordered. The Naruto, which had too many layers of cucumber wrapped around it and the pieces were mini. The villain, a $25 roll with caviar on top, but the caviar was so sparse, it could barely be seen with the naked eye. Rainbow roll was ok but again, the pieces were tiny. Every roll was flavorless and the price point was stupid. $122 plus tip for a bland lunch was retarded. Super disappointed.

As a transplant to Charlotte for work, I'm always searching for the ingredients and flavors I grew up with, and this place delivers. From the fresh seafood counter -- where you'll find beautiful tiger prawns -- to the endless rows of fish sauce, oyster sauce, and every variety of soy sauce imaginable (sweet, dark, mushroom, Japanese), the selection is impressive. The aisles are thoughtfully organized by cuisine and region, which makes navigating the store surprisingly easy, even if you're new to Asian markets. The frozen section alone is worth the trip. If you're looking for dumplings -- Chinese, Japanese, Korean, even Nepalese -- they've got you covered. And don't sleep on the handmade crepe cakes in the freezer. Yes, they're about $25, but they're stunning and absolutely delicious. Honestly, they rival the famous crepe cakes from Lady M in the San Francisco Bay Area, where those cakes can easily run over $100. At this price point, it feels like a steal -- and you'll definitely impress your guests. The produce section is another highlight. The ginger is incredibly fresh, and the variety is fantastic -- from gai lan and sweet chives to cebollitas (Mexican green onions) and crisp green beans. It's a true sensory experience for anyone who loves to cook. This isn't a trendy, boutique grocery store, and that's exactly the charm. It's old-school, practical, and stocked with the essentials. Toward the back right corner, you'll find pallets of noodles in every style -- Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean -- everything you could possibly need for home cooking. The butcher and fishmonger are also available to help, which adds a nice personal touch to the shopping experience. There's also a bakery inside with beautiful fruit-and-cream cakes -- the kind you'll recognize if you've ever celebrated in an Asian household. Light, fresh, and not overly sweet. And if you're a coffee lover, keep an eye out for Café du Monde coffee -- it's usually several dollars cheaper here than at typical grocery stores. A few friendly tips: * Go with a plan -- this place can be overwhelming in the best way. * Don't bring a big entourage unless they're ready to explore. * And if you visit the Pineville location, go hungry -- the food court alone is worth the trip. Both locations are fantastic, but the Pineville store is newer, larger, and especially fun to explore. Shop curious, cook boldly, and enjoy the adventure.
