I really do love Super G Mart. I frequent both locations -- the one on Independence and the newer, larger store in Pineville -- and this one feels like a destination in itself, especially with the huge food court. As a transplant to Charlotte for work, I'm always searching for the ingredients and flavors I grew up with, and this place delivers. From the fresh seafood counter -- where you'll find beautiful tiger prawns -- to the endless rows of fish sauce, oyster sauce, and every variety of soy sauce imaginable (sweet, dark, mushroom, Japanese), the selection is impressive. The aisles are thoughtfully organized by cuisine and region, which makes navigating the store surprisingly easy, even if you're new to Asian markets. The frozen section alone is worth the trip. If you're looking for dumplings -- Chinese, Japanese, Korean, even Nepalese -- they've got you covered. And don't sleep on the handmade crepe cakes in the freezer. Yes, they're about $25, but they're stunning and absolutely delicious. Honestly, they rival the famous crepe cakes from Lady M in the San Francisco Bay Area, where those cakes can easily run over $100. At this price point, it feels like a steal -- and you'll definitely impress your guests. The produce section is another highlight. The ginger is incredibly fresh, and the variety is fantastic -- from gai lan and sweet chives to cebollitas (Mexican green onions) and crisp green beans. It's a true sensory experience for anyone who loves to cook. This isn't a trendy, boutique grocery store, and that's exactly the charm. It's old-school, practical, and stocked with the essentials. Toward the back right corner, you'll find pallets of noodles in every style -- Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean -- everything you could possibly need for home cooking. The butcher and fishmonger are also available to help, which adds a nice personal touch to the shopping experience. Love this place. My go to for the bakery, TOUS. Croissants are great and love their cloud cakes. The market is great for those hard to find international options. Had a friend originally from Columbia come for a visit and he loved all the items they had from when he was a kid. We actually had to send him home with an extra duffle bag to get all his goodies home. As a fun activity we did a fruit taste test and all of it was delicious. Love discovering new things. This place is SO cool. The food hall has so many amazing food choices. I personally love the bao buns and the specialty corn dogs. The corn dog with the hot cheeses is seriously one of my favorite things on the planet. Then there is the store. You can literally find most anything you need from many different countries. Last Christmas we brought our out of town family to Super G Mart and we all picked one thing to try (can be as off the wall as you want). Then we all had to try everything. I'm obsessed with Super G Mart!! It's similar to H Mart where I live but Super G is more international and is much bigger. There's a decent amount of parking but I will say, on the weekends, you're competing with Alley 51 customers, too. Parking can be a bit tricky depending on what time and day of the week you visit. Prepare to spend at least an hour at Super G if you've never been before. It's mostly Asian food sprinkled with Mexican and Indian foods as well (I know India is part of the Asia continent but the flavor profiles are much different). There's tons of produce, meats, snacks, beverages, and frozen items. Don't forget to check out their adult beverage section where you can find jelly sake (my favorite)! There's also a decent section of house goods, too. I loved the energy at this grocery store! The aisles are wide and there's a ton of everything. For the most part, the shelves are organized and the entire store is well-lit and clean. From two aisles worth of a large variety of ramen to coffees and teas from around the world, there's something for everyone! I was personally excited to find all of the flavors of Milkis and my jelly sake at Super G. After checking out, you can visit the Korean beauty shop or the pop culture (?) shop. I wanted to go to the pop culture (?) shop because they had Pokémon pillows but that was closed when I was visiting. You can also access Alley 51 through the grocery store (no baskets allowed) but I found it easier to put my stuff in the car and do pickup afterwards. Went to Super G Market for the first time with my lady to do some random shopping and we ended up getting a bunch of pork belly in various forms and sizes! Service is great and the cashiers are really knowledgeable. The young guy that helped us out was able to type in the various forms of mushrooms that we picked up. I couldn't remember what the names were. Lol, I love this store for their wide selection of ethnic and cultural specialties. They carry every cut of chicken beef and goat imaginable. And some I didn't even know existed. Either way, definitely a must try and if you go to the grocery store, make sure you try the food court next-door. This G mart is larger than the one on Independence Blvd but also messier. They had boxes and merchandise all in the aisles congesting flow of cart traffic. The biggest difference between the two locations would be the attachment of Alley 51 to this location. It offers more food option than Independence which only has a dim sum restaurant and one bakery inside. read more

Absolutely love this place! Alley 51 has such a variety of food that there is something for everyone. Need that rare ingredient that can't be found at any of your local grocery stores? You'll probably find it here. We drive from Mooresville (44 min to an hour depending on traffic) to this specific location just for the tteokbokki and kimbap alone. My son and I love coming here with the intention of trying new and unique foods that we may not be able to find anywhere else. This location is well maintained and seems larger than the one in Independence. However, I feel like the other location has more of a variety. This location also has a tous les jours bakery/cafe located on the inside. The service is okay, nothing special. Everyone is just doing there job, don't expect to be greeted or acknowledged. I went to this store off a recommendation, and it did not disappoint. First of all it was way bigger than I anticipated, and bigger was definitely better in this case. They had a dazzling assortment of Asian goods, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, etc..., and they also had goods from various Latin American countries, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. I wish I knew about the store earlier. The photos I included were because I showed my friend that they did in fact have Ting, which is a Jamaican grapefruit soda. Everything is very well laid out in the store also making it easy to navigate with the clear signage. If I wasn't pressed for time I could have easily spent more than an hour in there shopping around and having to cart a whole extra checked bag home. Towards the back left of the store, and I recommend getting there early, they have hot food prepared before the attached food court even opens, which I'm told has even more selections. I got a beef bulgogi and rice, and I wasn't even hungry, but it smelled so good and hit the spot later! If you're in Charlotte, Pineville, or Greensboro, NC then you must stop in. I found it. The Asian market of my dreams! Unfortunately it's 1.25 hours from my home, but we can drive to Charlotte atleast once a month to check it out- because IT HAS EVERYTHING. It reminds me of Hmart, but it's not just Asian items, it's international, so we saw MORE than we ever expected! It also has a Tours le Jour Asian bakery inside (OMG, soo much good stuff- but be prepared to wait in line), and Alley 51 is connected to it, which is an Asian food court. Delish!! I'm obsessed!!!!! I'm newer to the Charlotte area and I have been seeking out places that have great prices on fresh produce and meat. This is it. They have every kind of vegetable and fruit you could possibly imagine and the prices are phenomenal. The quality of their beef and seafood is incredible. I will only go here to buy my seafood these days because it is so fresh and affordable. I could spend hours just walking up and down the aisles looking at their international food selection. This is not an Asian grocer, it is truly and international warehouse for products from so many other regions. Huge huge huge store. This supermarket is the size of a Walmart but it's nearly all groceries. Large produce section, large butchery and lots of aisles all clearly laid out. Sections for different ethnic and regional foods so if you're looking for Instant Noodles or Japanese Ramen or Chili Oil or Curry Paste, it's all here. Asian, Caribbean, European, it's all here. Prices looked really good and I was able to pick up everything on the shopping list and even grab a few things to make a nice chicken curry for dinner this evening. If you need produce in bulk head to the back for wholesale quantity and pricing. Fish can be cleaned and butchered on the spot, not sure if they fry too. I'm a huge fan of this Super G Mart! I've been several times now and always love perusing the aisles and exploring other cultures cuisines. It's very well appointed in this location too. I love that they have a Tous Les Jours inside, along with a cool Kpop store that looks like an actual subway station/train inside. They have fun shops along with their traditional grocery items. It's also massive in here! So plan to stay for a while when you come. I also recommend having some sort of translation tool to help peruse the items. There's many that aren't in English so just come prepared for that. I'll always recommend Super G Mart, either for your international foodie needs or just any food items. Super G Mart is my go to place when I crave something from Korea. When cooking a dish from SK, I do my absolute best to buy the products made in Korea. The selection of products from SK are not as many as you would find at H-Mart. I often purchase seaweed, items to make bibimbap, the Korean pears, and a few prepared side dishes. I am glad to have Super G Mart within driving range. I have been to all of the Super G Mart locations in NC. I do wish the cashiers would ask customers for their reward numbers. read more

I'm not dropping any stars because by and large, I love this location of G-Mart. By now, the shelves have filled out...and the place looks to be running almost fully? However, things still feel a bit amiss. Where are the restaurants? Any sitting areas?? For such a huge mega mart, it's odd that these standards aren't in place yet. Wow! The Pineville store is so nice!! This location of Super G is way nicer than the other one in Charlotte and you don't have to drive down Independence to get there haha It's big, clean, the aisles are wide, there are little shops and a bakery, a Photo Booth, and claw machines. They even have prepared foods (bulgogi, japchae, etc.) to take home. They take Apple Pay and there are some self checkout machines. It's in the same strip mall as Lula Banh Mi, too! read more

Love this place! It can be overwhelming if you don't know what you want but if you're adventurous it's fun to explore. Entire aisles dedicated to different regions of the world (ie. Europe, North America, Asia, Southeast Asia, Indian...), refrigerated aisles with international dairy, meats and frozen items, fresh-made Korean dishes for heat and serve... Also, they have a Tous-Les-Jours French/asian bakery inside (soooo delicious!) and they are connected to Alley 51 Asian food court with so many offerings! Highly recommend!!! read more

I appreciate the older Super G Mart location but this one is much closer for folks in South Charlotte or South Carolina. Walking in here, I didn't know what to expect. The layout of the store is spacious, with wide aisles. There is a variety of international foods, categorised by region. Along the front and the side, there looks to be kiosks that sell things separately than the rest of the store (I see you, macaron counter). I came here because I wanted to bring my own instant coffee to camp, and it did not disappoint. There was more variety than I expected. Finally checked out Super G in Pineville and it did not disappoint!! Really was on a quest to refill the ramen inventory, but also wanted to check out the new space. The aisles are wide and super clean/ organized. I didn't event know that Tour De Jours had a little location within Super G. Folks were enjoying their breakfast pastries (from the looks of it). Nice big parking lot, this used to be a KMart so there is plenty of parking, I'm surprised it wasn't as crowded as it was on a Sunday, but maybe we beat the church crowd. Plenty of registers open with friendly staffers ready to scan your items and check you out. There's even a self check out lane too. It's really a regular grocery store with the added bonus of international items. The produce was organized and fresh as well as their meat/seafood sections. Overall we are good on ramen for the next couple of months but I think Super G will be included in our regular grocery rotation (maybe monthly). read more

In the area the other day and shocked me by surprise that this Super G sold Ganjang-gejang and the spicy version. I have always wanted to try soy sauce marinated crab, and hesitant to try the frozen one (commercially made but looked like had been in the freezer for months). When I saw the freshly made in Super G, I immediately grab one for each. Without any comparison in the past, I can say it is good. Overall this Super G offers more items than the one in Greensboro, I am happy to know I can come here to have similar experience as I used to have at H mart, and getting food that I have not been able to get in any NC grocery store or Korea restaurants! read more

Very busy today but I was able to get in and out with my short shopping list. I've been to another location and this place seems to be just a bit smaller than the other stores. It's plenty big though and they are still stocking the shelves. I understand they will have two to three restaurants once the built is completed. They have a huge selection of Korean dried goods. But much better than the other one on Independence Blvd. This location have a lot to offer and it's still expanding. More stalls coming, more cooking classes to languages lessons will provide at the community center inside. And the neat thing about them is that they don't just focus on Chinese or Japanese cuisines. But they offer all cuisines across the board. You can learn Vietnamese to Korean cooking lessons. Classes are free and you can buy ingredients right there. Win win.. read more
