I noticed they even had a lot of Filipino items tons of different hot, sauces, and chilies and just a lot of good stuff tons of options they even sold beer and saki, which I thought was pretty cool. The cashiers were even pretty friendly. They do have a club membership deal kind of like most of our major grocery stores in the area so you can get discounts on future purchases. It was cool. I'll definitely go back.

The cashier didn't ask kindly, didn't clarify, just immediately assumed the worst and treated me with blatant disrespect in front of my children. To make matters even more infuriating, my elderly mother who was just trying to help separate our groceries had a plastic divider thrown at her by the cashier, who barked, "If you aren't paying for the other customer's groceries, you need to put that down." Excuse me?? Who talks to anyone, let alone a senior, like that? The entire transaction was hostile, uncomfortable, and humiliating. I was shaken, my daughter was upset, and it was clear this employee had no interest in basic decency or customer service. To top it all off and I wish this was an exaggeration multiple items in the produce section had visible MOLD. I originally wasn't going to say anything I was just going to assume maybe it was a bad time to shop and they just maybe didn't change things over but I started looking around and wondering, how many others have been mistreated...It feels like this place is completely falling apart in so many ways. We used to know this store so well I could list off prices without looking. But I'll gladly save myself the extra out of the way 15-minute drive now and head to Super G Mart where there's better variety, better prices, respectful staff, and an amazing bakery and hot food section. Most of the produce is of Mexican/Chinese source, so if you aren't a GMO fan, this is the wrong place to shop. However, what you lose in evolutionary purity, you make up for in price: Roma tomatoes, in the middle of winter, for $.49 a pound. And they were almost as good as they were gassed to look. The Mexican groceries are (obv) where this place excels. Quite possibly the most comprehensive collection of dried chiles I've seen in Charlotte. 3-4 brands of pickled jalapeno to choose from. Tortillas of every kind in abundance. Entire fridge case of Mexican/Latino cheese and dairy, in a range of quality and price. One isle is devoted to Asian products and canned goods, and most of your classics are there: Huy Fong sauces, coconut milk, curry pastes, noodles, at the same prices you'd pay at Overseas or International. What's interesting is that their standard grocery section is a bit overpriced: for frozen pizza, snacks, pet food, etc, you'd be better off across the street at Food Lion.

Maybe buy it on Amazon or make an Asian friend that's either first or second generation. The parking lot is very bad. The conditions of the shopping carts are very bad. This I cannot disagree with other reviewers with. I have to dock a star for that. But for the availability of grocery items, this is my go-to. I can't think of another market where I can find a 10lb can of sliced water chestnuts or something most roundeyes don't have a clue of. I'm here 1-2 times per week. Not as fancy and new as the other Asian grocery store in this Plaza, but nevertheless a really nice place to shop if you are in the Northeast burbs of Charlotte North Carolina. I love how Charlotte has quickly developed into a multinational multi-ethnic Paradise in the wake of Atlanta and long may it continue.

I mention this establishment because it does have something that sets it apart from the rest. If you have read some of my other reviews you've probably noticed that I am a fan of asian food, and this goes double for asian candy. This store has a larger and more diverse candy and snack section than any other market I've been to. From sweet to salty they have it all. The only problem I have with this place is that they don't have mochi and I love that stuff. Other than that, it's a great place to explore and try something new.
