Crab fried rice from Thai restaurant
    Angela L.

Stopped by on Sunday while in town. This is my second visit to this store. They have a great selection of food and their food court and Korean skincare store are great. Staff are friendly. Good at the Thai restaurant was good. Can be a bit loud in there but everyone seemed to be enjoying their food.

Teriyaki chicken bun, Shou mai, wonton soup and one of the lime tea beverages. Super yummy

First time going to Super G Mart and it was such a great visit. So many grocery options and lots of international snacks and treats. The highlight was the food from the food court, however. We ordered the bulgogi, the japchae bap, chicken bun, wonton noodle, and a few different drinks (all of the lime tea variety). Everything we ordered was spectacular. Our favorite were the bulgogi dishes but everything was delicious and big enough to share between 3 people. Highly recommend a visit if you are looking to kill some time looking at all the international foods they have as well as looking for a good meal.

This is the best Asian market in the Charlotte area. There is great variety with fresh produce, refrigerated goods, seafood, meats, and frozen meals. If I had more time, I would have stopped for lunch in the small food court where prices are reasonable and the offerings are surprisingly unique. The parking lot can get crowded during prime hours but still large enough to find a spot. Traffic will be an issue at certain times of the day. I suggest going at night or weekends.

Oh my goodness. If this place was near me I would be thirty pounds heavier. Go inside it is fantastic. Had the beef soup (OH MY). Flavor was outstanding with tremendous depth. Was prepared to order and service was with a smile. Ok ambiance lacks and has that back of store feel and the chairs have no cushions but the food is delicious.

First time going to an international market in Charlotte, and this one is great . Anything you can't find in standard grocery stores , is more than likely here. First off the store is large and very clean and organized. The employees are very nice and helpful, great customer service . I wanted to make some lumpia and found every single ingredient I need . I even found multiple brands of spicy and cane vinegar that I saw on TikTok. If you're hungry there are great food stalls in the back of the restaurant. Honey Buns cafeteria has great fried rice and thai tea.

Large grocery store with a lot of options for various international foods. The produce was fresh. They even have a sweet bakery shop and two quick food pick up places as soon as I entered, I smell the deliciousness of honey buns. They were out of the veggie bun. They have plenty of parking in a share parking lot. The prices are decent. The staff are friendly. I recommend and will likely return. Hope you enjoy and find what you need.

While part of a national chain, the diversity is quite great, the smell as soon as you walk in is quite unpleasant. Diversity is here for goods, see photos!! And certainly this is a high volume customer interface place with restaurants but, it should be considered for a refreshment. It's a bit dark, unwelcoming, strong unsanitized scents but clearly a hot spot for the community. Staff was a bit challenging to work with but not disrespectful. One can tell having visited numerous other 'Marts' around other states, this one is a bit in decline. Recommend: For those seeking specific asiatic cuisine specific food requirements, yes. Anybody want pork blood, salmon heads or beef tongues? You can even buy toilets here... seriously.

3*= A OK The pros of this International store are: 1. you can find hard to find items 2. it does have a couple of restaurants inside The cons that I experienced are: 1. the smell of the seafood area. (I've been told from a fishmonger that if you can smell fish at the front of the store, don't buy) 2. The rudeness of the staff that are stocking. They treat you like you are in their way and do not care about personal space. I had one man to push me amd then looked at me like I pushed him. (I did report it) 3. You run the risk of items being expired. I was elated to find beef salami, but when I got home, it was already spoiled and nowhere near the expiration date.

Visited Super G mart off East Independence Blvd, bought some Burdock root, it had a good price on the label so I grabbed that particular bunch, when I went to check out, the cashier rung up my items, then she picked up the Burdock root, looked at the price, didn't say anything to me, she just walked off, went to a scale and weighed the root, she then called an manager/security, He looked at it, he appeared to be checking to see if I pulled the price off and applied another lower price, I overheard him saying, well you have to give it to him at that price, I then walked over to the customer service desk where they were and told them, it's not my fault that someone weighed the vegetable wrong, the cashier was rude, she should have known. The manager tried to cover for her, that really upset me, the cashier acted as if I was a criminal, after she walked back to the register, I told her that was rude and not good customer service, she acted like she didn't want to finish the transaction and I had to tell her to finish taking my money, after she accepted my money, I told her, that she was rude, I'm retired military person and I make plenty of money and wouldn't change a label, she then starred me down and took her sweet time, like she was in charge of returning my change, I had to snatch my change out her hand, it's ashamed the way people from other countries, come to the US and don't know customer service. I understand G Mart is owned by the Han Family, no number for customer service to file a complaint.

Ask the Community - Super G Mart Charlotte

Do they sell any good lumpia brands in the frozen food section?

Do they happen to sell any soju?

Yes they do. They sell the off brand not the original soju.

Do they sell kimchi (not in the food court)?

Yes. It's in the back of the produce section. It is refrigerated.

Do they sell Pickled Radish here?? if so please let me know where thxs.

They sell the yellow pickled daikon radish in the refrigerated section towards the middle of the store.

Can you get sushi grade salmon from there?

Yes you can. Ask at the fish counter but sometimes it's in the freezer bin labeled sushi grade.

The seafood area was up for a much needed remodeling has anyone seen it?

Is the food court open on Sundays?

    Yes.

    Do they sell Japanese KitKat?

I've seen it there but I dint know if they have all the time. But if its anywhere, it's here.

I've been looking all over for jackfruit... do they sell canned jackfruit here?

I know they sell fresh and frozen jackfruit. It is very likely they have canned.

Do the sell Melon ice bars?

Am told Walmart and Costco, but have not seen them there...although was not looking for them at the time.

Does the restaurant inside the store serve any vegetarian food?

There are two restaurants and both do have yummy vegetarian options.

Do they sell sushimi graded capelin roe or masago?

    No,I don't.

    Does this place sell hopia?

No. And if you find a place in Charlotte that does let me know. There's not a Filipino market here and it's hard to find good baked Filipino goods.

Do they sell bbq roast pork and bbq roast duck? If so, what are the prices please? Thanks!

No, unfortunately they do not. I love getting roasted duck and pork from Van Loi on Central, which is not too far in proximity. I can't remember pricing off the top of my head, but just give them a call! :)

Do they have honey butter chips?

Yes, they do. I tried them for the first time here.

    Do they sell milk pudding?

I am not sure if this prepared dish is available in the back where prepared food is served.

Do they sell mochi? Edit: thank you everyone for answering my question! Happy holidays!

Yes they do! Check the freezer isle or refrigerated section.

Did anyone happen to see lumpia in the freezer or know where I can get some?

Yes there were quite a few at super G

I really do love Super G Mart. I frequent both locations -- the one on Independence and the newer,…read morelarger store in Pineville -- and this one feels like a destination in itself, especially with the huge food court. As a transplant to Charlotte for work, I'm always searching for the ingredients and flavors I grew up with, and this place delivers. From the fresh seafood counter -- where you'll find beautiful tiger prawns -- to the endless rows of fish sauce, oyster sauce, and every variety of soy sauce imaginable (sweet, dark, mushroom, Japanese), the selection is impressive. The aisles are thoughtfully organized by cuisine and region, which makes navigating the store surprisingly easy, even if you're new to Asian markets. The frozen section alone is worth the trip. If you're looking for dumplings -- Chinese, Japanese, Korean, even Nepalese -- they've got you covered. And don't sleep on the handmade crepe cakes in the freezer. Yes, they're about $25, but they're stunning and absolutely delicious. Honestly, they rival the famous crepe cakes from Lady M in the San Francisco Bay Area, where those cakes can easily run over $100. At this price point, it feels like a steal -- and you'll definitely impress your guests. The produce section is another highlight. The ginger is incredibly fresh, and the variety is fantastic -- from gai lan and sweet chives to cebollitas (Mexican green onions) and crisp green beans. It's a true sensory experience for anyone who loves to cook. This isn't a trendy, boutique grocery store, and that's exactly the charm. It's old-school, practical, and stocked with the essentials. Toward the back right corner, you'll find pallets of noodles in every style -- Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean -- everything you could possibly need for home cooking. The butcher and fishmonger are also available to help, which adds a nice personal touch to the shopping experience. There's also a bakery inside with beautiful fruit-and-cream cakes -- the kind you'll recognize if you've ever celebrated in an Asian household. Light, fresh, and not overly sweet. And if you're a coffee lover, keep an eye out for Café du Monde coffee -- it's usually several dollars cheaper here than at typical grocery stores. A few friendly tips: * Go with a plan -- this place can be overwhelming in the best way. * Don't bring a big entourage unless they're ready to explore. * And if you visit the Pineville location, go hungry -- the food court alone is worth the trip. Both locations are fantastic, but the Pineville store is newer, larger, and especially fun to explore. Shop curious, cook boldly, and enjoy the adventure.

The cashier didn't ask kindly, didn't clarify, just immediately assumed the worst and treated me with blatant disrespect in front of my children. To make matters even more infuriating, my elderly mother who was just trying to help separate our groceries had a plastic divider thrown at her by the cashier, who barked, "If you aren't paying for the other customer's groceries, you need to put that down." Excuse me?? Who talks to anyone, let alone a senior, like that? The entire transaction was hostile, uncomfortable, and humiliating. To top it all off and I wish this was an exaggeration multiple items in the produce section had visible MOLD. I originally wasn't going to say anything I was just going to assume maybe it was a bad time to shop and they just maybe didn't change things over but I started looking around and wondering, how many others have been mistreated...It feels like this place is completely falling apart in so many ways. We used to know this store so well I could list off prices without looking. But I'll gladly save myself the extra out of the way 15-minute drive now and head to Super G Mart where there's better variety, better prices, respectful staff, and an amazing bakery and hot food section. This place? It's become a complete and utter disgrace. I'm never coming back. Ever.
