Smoked sturgeon

Best fish store not only in Charlotte but prob in the whole Southeast. Excellent quality and beyond fresh. Prepared options excellent as well. Check out the frozen selection as well as there are some real gems in there, most notably the smoked sturgeon.. puts trout and salmon to shame! Really excellent stuff.

Came here for their crab cake special and boy did it not disappoint! I wasn't sure what was going on when I walked in because I didn't see any signage and everyone behind the counter was busy. I've heard that these crab cakes are the best in Charlotte. I wanted to try and make it appear as if I was making something "fancy" for my mom's birthday and this was the way to go! They came frozen and individually wrapped so you could stick them in the freezer for a later date. I will be buying more next time they have their semi-annual sale. They are pricey but the amount of crab makes them worth it. Honestly, one crab cake SHOULD feed me twice. I say should because they are just too good to NOT FINISH! One thing I did notice while I was there is the freshly made sushi. It looks amazing and when I have time I'll be back to check it out.

Their selection is always so amazing. Expensive, but amazing.

If I ever win the lottery, I am going to buy every single meal from Clean Catch! That's to say... I love their selection but everything is pretty pricey. You get what you pay for though. Almost everything they offer is sushi grade - as in, you could eat it straight from the bag. We usually give it a good sear first, though. ;) The store is always spotlessly clean and NEVER smells like fish. (A good thing as a fish smell means the product is rotting.) The staff behind the counter are always very knowledgeable and friendly, making suggestions for the indecisive customers like me. While everything is good, my favorites include the monster scallops, tuna, crab cake and salmon burger. I wish I had a bank account large enough to try the arctic char!

Full case on a Sunday afternoon

After more than 3 years I continue to be a weekly, if not more, customer to Clean Catch. The fish is consistently amazing and over the years they have expanded things, offering a lot more of pre-prepared fish selections that can be heated at home and are outstanding. Bill and Cain and the rest of the staff are attentive to your preferences, honest about how things taste and recommend amazing ways to cook their daily fish. I am a fish lover and look forward to their creations and daily deliveries. Recently I have tried their Tuna Tartare, Tuna Meatballs, Shrimp Enchilades, and so much more, all of which I love. And, I cannot forget to mention their homemade dumplings, from the Dumpling Gang. A few different varieties but are all amazing. There is nothing like Clean Catch in Charlotte and I will be a customer for life. Check them out when you get a chance.

Prawns are $44.99 online but $62.99 in the store

Delicious and fresh tasting seafood at ridiculous prices...... I came here about 2 weeks ago to purchase their tiger prawn shrimp. I called the store first to make sure that they had it. The guy on the phone acted like he didn't know what "Tiger Prawns" were, even though they have it listed on their website. I said I am looking at your website and it says that you have tiger prawns, he said "do you mean the jumbo shrimp". Ummm sure, he says "yes we have it". I went after work and when I got there, the first thing I noticed was how all the seafood was beautifully displayed in the glass case and there was no fishy smell. I also noticed that there were no prices and nothing was labeled. But this wasn't a problem for me since the website listed the price so I knew how much I would be spending (so I thought). Their website lists the prawns at $44.99/lb but when the guy was weighing them out, he asked another guy what the price was and he replied $62.99. WHAT?????? So I ended up spending over $45 for TWO prawns. Now I understand why they don't have any prices listed in the store. They want to be able to just make up a price on the spot. This was my first and last time visiting this market. I will just order my prawns online in the future.

I finally found the closest thing to a Maryland crab cake in Charlotte!! I was very impressed with the quality of their seafood offerings, and look forward to returning to try other items. I purchased 4 fresh crab cakes (6oz each), and could not wait to get them home. I followed their instructions to first sear the cakes, then bake them for 8-10 minutes and I think they came out wonderful. I look forward to going back soon.

Love the fact that I could order bluefish fillets BUT at a very astronomical price since it had to be shipped in from MA. Would hv bn a constant customer if it weren't so astronomical because I miss my fishy fish being from Hawaii. I'm wondering if I could find a company on the net to order directly but I would hv loved to be a regular in show of support for smaller businesses. The drive is very far from home into traffic there but I'd hv done it in a heartbeat if the price were reasonable.

awful service. The fish is less than grocery level quality. Way overpriced products and I can go to any other store and get better quality.

What a great place to buy fresh meat or fish. The place was packed with customers either picking up…read morepre order food or placing an order like us. You can buy rubs, marinades, salads, sides, bread, rolls, desserts, etc. They also have frozen wild game if that is what you are into. It was unfortunate that half their store did not have power as we were not able to see any of the meat or fish on display. iI was ok we were not able to hand select our steaks or fish - the store has such a great reputation we were not too worried about what we would end up with. We decided to order 4 prime marinated NY strip and 2 tuna steaks. They make theur own naribade so we had to try it. We also wanted to try one of frozen pre-made meals so we chose the sausage and pasta with vodka sauce. While in line to checkout we saw more than a few people with trays of cinnamon buns so we had to try them as well. This is a summery of our purchased food:. The cinnamon rolls were grainy. Not smooth. I think they were old (I had to pull them from the back). The steaks had a great flavor as the marinade was really good. Three of the 4 steaks were over cooked because we were given 4 different sized steaks. 2 got burnt the third was well done....$60 wasted. The tuna was good but again they gave us one large steak and one thinner one so the smaller was was dry....another $15 wasted. If I can make any suggestion....do not make a purchase without seeing what you are buying. $136.00 later I can say I was disappointed because of the unevenness it was cooked improperly. 4 stars because the cook is partially to blame. 3 stars otherwise. The sales person is the first person that should know better than to sell meat and fish the way they did. Ruined my Christmas meal. Only 1 of us ate. :(

I dont know about meats but the frozen food was simply horrible. Meatloaf ugh....vodka pasta with…read moresausage was blah loaded with pepper. Dont recommend at all.

First off this appears to be great little local owned business which I really appreciate. They also…read moreseem to be relatively new. Now let's look at what is important. Lots of parking but I did have to do a U turn to get back to the restaurant. This was an old chain restaurant building so the drive through area isn't used. The building is dated and in need of repair but that isn't their fault as I am sure they are renting it. The food. Decent menu with steamed, grilled and fried options. I went with the small low country boil which was plenty. It was good. Could have soaked a bit if it was in fact boiled to pick up more of the flavor. I got a side bowl of gumbo. Interesting as it didn't come over rice. It was ok but let remember I worked in Louisiana for a decade plus so I can be a Cajun food snob. Service was awesome. Very friendly and the checked on me a couple of times. A huge majority of the customers get it to go. They have picnic tables inside to eat at and that is what I chose. Friendly service and decent food so a good option if in the area.

Highly recommend! Great food and very reasonable pricing for what you get! Now this is a low…read morecountry boil so it's not a saucy shrimp bowl (I forgot that). The food is made to order and very fresh. We got there about 30 minutes before closing but still received great service. We got the low country boil with shrimp potatoes and corn and subbed out sausage for more corn. The potatoes were cooked perfect which says a lot and the shrimp was delicious and corn on was not mushy. I have also gotten a fish sandwiche here and it was delicious. Definitely worth checking out !
