Our first stop once we arrived for weekend in NC. Searching for one of most talked about soul food brunch spots. You walk in to a very modern & chic decorated restaurant with a dedicated bar, patio and main dining room area. They have space for live band in second floor area. The black on black decor, swirl marble flooring along with the beautiful artwork of black women sets the vibe of elegance and classiness. We had good timing because we walked in and were immediately seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We both were in the mood for seafood so as our app we got the salmon bites, entree was seafood Mac & cheese and an Arnold Palmer. Those salmon bites are crunchy chunks of good flavored fried salmon. Not a one was left. We both got greens, of which I liked, tangy sweet with a hit of fire. Now my seafood mac had more macaroni and not doing shrimp & lobster. Honestly was getting home cooked Mac & Cheese either. The cornbread with a drizzle of honey were pretty good. We were a bit disappointed regarding our main entrees.

Party of 7 went during the holiday season on a Saturday night. Ample parking pending event in area & the restaurant easy to locate. The restaurant atmosphere is very "moody" but nicely decorated. 2 bars, 2 levels and ample seating in the waiting area. We expected it a wait since we were a large party, it was holiday season on rhe weekend, and we wee told they were understaffed that day. Either way we got drinks at the bar & the wait was about 30-40 mins. Our waitress was very pleasant, very attentive, didn't rush us and was able to promptly take our orders. The drinks were good and the food was Sooo Deiish . Food orders ranged from wings to steak, fish & turkey wings with Mac n cheese, greens, yams, oh and that cornbread!! Overall it was a great time and reasonably priced. I didn't give a 5 rating bc they were out of the lamb chops, and I left smelling like fried food. Will definitely visit again, maybe when its less busy but I still reccomend it overall.

I li the new location for Sol Delish! The artwork is beautiful. The atmosphere is great. The food is good and the service is good but the wait time still leaves a lot to be desired. There was a one hour wait on a Friday at 2:30 in the afternoon. But in their defense, once you were seated and placed your order, the food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the jerk and Parmesan turkey wings, which slid off the bone, mac & cheese, which was delicious yams which were amazing, and that everything greens, which were really good as well. The food here is seasoned well, which is why you won't find the salt shaker on the table, I'll be back for some of that delicious fried salmon!

I had bookmarked Sol'Delish for awhile and they happened to open a location that was walking distance from my hotel. Met some friends here and it was packed on a Tuesday night. We sat at the high top tables near the bar and Imani took amazing care of us from beginning to end. I had never had fried salmon before so had to try that and had the mac and cheese and grilled vegetables as my side. The mac and cheese was really good but wish it was a bit hotter as it came out a bit cold. The mixed veggies were okay, a bit too overcooked for my liking. The salmon was unfortunately very overcooked, but with the tartar sauce and hot sauce I asked for on the side it tasted a bit better. Everyone else really loved their food and next time I would order the fried fish for sure! For dessert we had the sweet potato cake and it was really moist and delicious. Though I didn't enjoy my meal as much as others at my table, it was a great environment and amazing service from Imani!

Love everything about So Delish! Laid back, good music, soul food vibes. TVs throughout the restaurant, perfect for game nights. Outdoor seating, two bar seating areas, and average indoor dining spaces create a cozy atmosphere. Limited large party spacing if celebrating an event with several, but doable. We chose to be seated at the back bar immediately due to a typical Saturday 45min. - 1 hour wait time for a regular table. Ordered the Smoked Turkey Wings and Fried Flounder entrees. Sides were seafood mac and cheese, yams, and greens. Everything was delicious and truly surprised me because I'm picky and it's hard to find good soul food in Charlotte. I would recommend stopping in for a meal.

Be prepared to wait because this place does not take reservations and the line is usually long. I waited for a little over an hour for a table of 3. I will say that it was really good food though. The cornbread was complimentary and it was more pancake like and not really giving cornbread to me. The fried flounder plate was great. It was well seasoned and well fried. The seafood mac n cheese was amazing and was worth the extra $9 with clear chunks of lobster and shrimp in it. The yams are AMAZING too. I will definitely be coming back here again. Service to get a table is slow but once you're sat, wait staff is attentive and quick.

Turkey wings, green beans, both great!

This place is a soul food haven! Now, I went to the new location that has plenty of space and plenty of seating. There is a high top bar area with more of a happy hour vibe and the more restaurant area behind it with booths and tables. But I have to admit, the service was a bit interesting. Everyone was nice, but the food came out slow, there were mix ups in the orders, and it was hard to get side plates and refills at times. Overall, the turkey wings WERE SO TENDER! The Mac and cheese was well done, great green beans, and amazing yams. This is a meal you leave with leftovers and I feel the pricing was affordable. Oh but that "jerk" label on those wings is incorrect. If you are of Caribbean decent, you will be upset lol. Still go try and enjoy your two days of food!

Sol Delish opened a larger location in the university area and I stopped by during lunch and they were packed. I had the collard green dip and the turkey burger with Mac and cheese. Everything was good but I did notice a difference in the Mac and cheese from the other location so I won't order that again. I look forward to trying some desserts on my next visit.

I finally had the chance to experience Sol Delish in the University area of Charlotte. Last weekend I had family in town and we visited Sol delicious on Saturday. My experience was so good that I returned again on Sunday. The wait was about one hour, but it was very organized. I knew where my place in line was, and I had time to walk around and visit other shops before getting back in line. I really can't understand where the negative reviews come in because my experience each time was a five out of five. On Saturday my waitress was Fatimah. She was very personable and professional. She helped make suggestions on the menu as well as drink options. When our food arrived to the table, Fatimah constantly came around to check on us, although the restaurant was beyond busy. Unfortunately, we didn't have Fatimah as our waitress when we returned on Sunday. The food and drinks were equally as good. The waitress was good, but not great. Overall I would constantly come back to this restaurant and wait in line to enjoy the delicious food. The turkey wings are so tender- They practically fall off of the bone. I have nothing to complain about. I hope to come back here again and again very soon. I want to experience the live music edition.

This was my second visit to Sol'Delish and just like the first visit, it was superb. I ordered the whole chicken wing entrée with two sides. It was delicious! The food is seasoned to perfection. The ambience was nice and mellow as I was having an early dinner. The service was wonderful. Shout out to Paradise my server as she made sure that I was well taken care of! Thank you, Paradise you helped to make my dining experience exceptional. I would definitely visit again!

Fried Flounder Fish plate Lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese plate

The regular Mac and cheese had more noodles than cheese but it had good flavor.. The fish was overcooked for my liking and tasted more like the fried oil than any other flavors. The lobster Mac had more shrimp than lobster, but had good flavor.

So while my never-ending battle to get my beers counted in real-time still remains the bane of my ubiquitous existence here, at least the staff make it a little less maddening. To be fair sometimes it is tech issues where the app (which I have a neverending love/hate relationship with) will decide to do some new, weird, baffling yet enraging thing that mucks up my beer count, but I can always count on my Ladies in Charge Izz & Kels to work their magic. I also gotta give shoutouts to my girls Maddie & Stella & Katie for always taking care of me and finding ways to turn my frowns upside down! I have enjoyed the different styles and breweries they have recently been bringing into the mix (I thought I had died and gone to beer heaven when I saw they had 6 yes SIX 3 Floyds beers on tap & in cans!), but have noticed they haven't been adding as many local NC beers like they used to, which makes it hard for a regular, such as myself, on her 17th plate to come in for $5 NC Drafts on Sundays. I appreciate the new daily specials on Fridays/Saturdays and showing more appreciation for BeerKnurds that have been added (notably 1/2 lunch for BKs on Tues from 11am-3pm), but REALLY REALLY wish they would do more stuff (as in ANYTHING) for MOUs (BKs w/5+ plates). All that being said, you really can't beat their $5 off any draft on the wall or hard liquors + wine Mondays or their create your own pizzas (might I suggest my personal creation & fav the "Tickle My Pickle?); the food menu is just solid as their kitchen staff are some of the best (and nicest) in the biz! It's seat-yourself, so we had to pull a couple tables together to fit everyone. One thing to note: it was very warm inside, so I'd recommend sitting toward the back where it's more comfortable. My boys really enjoy this place, so I wanted to like it more, but the food was just okay and a bit pricey for what you get. Most items run about $14.99-$21.99, even appetizers are at entrée prices. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries appetizer ($15.99) after hearing they were "fire." The steak had good flavor, but the portion was light--fine for sharing, but not very filling. One entree, Big Dipper ($15.49), a roast beef seemed overcooked and there wasn't much meat on a large bun. Two people from the table ordered pizza. Neither ate more than 2 pieces. On the positive side, the beer selection is excellent, with plenty of options on tap and in bottles and cans--from Guinness to local IPAs. The atmosphere is also unique: plates cover the walls and ceiling from guests who've completed their beer challenge, which makes for a fun, quirky vibe you really have to see in person. Dart boards for those who want to be a bit more active. Overall, it's a great spot for beer and atmosphere, but the food and pricing didn't quite match the experience for me.
