I li the new location for Sol Delish! The artwork is beautiful. The atmosphere is great. The food is good and the service is good but the wait time still leaves a lot to be desired. There was a one hour wait on a Friday at 2:30 in the afternoon. But in their defense, once you were seated and placed your order, the food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the jerk and Parmesan turkey wings, which slid off the bone, mac & cheese, which was delicious yams which were amazing, and that everything greens, which were really good as well. The food here is seasoned well, which is why you won't find the salt shaker on the table, I'll be back for some of that delicious fried salmon!

Fried Flounder Fish plate Lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese plate

The regular Mac and cheese had more noodles than cheese but it had good flavor.. The fish was overcooked for my liking and tasted more like the fried oil than any other flavors. The lobster Mac had more shrimp than lobster, but had good flavor.

Love everything about So Delish! Laid back, good music, soul food vibes. TVs throughout the restaurant, perfect for game nights. Outdoor seating, two bar seating areas, and average indoor dining spaces create a cozy atmosphere. Limited large party spacing if celebrating an event with several, but doable. We chose to be seated at the back bar immediately due to a typical Saturday 45min. - 1 hour wait time for a regular table. Ordered the Smoked Turkey Wings and Fried Flounder entrees. Sides were seafood mac and cheese, yams, and greens. Everything was delicious and truly surprised me because I'm picky and it's hard to find good soul food in Charlotte. I would recommend stopping in for a meal.

This was my second visit to Sol'Delish and just like the first visit, it was superb. I ordered the whole chicken wing entrée with two sides. It was delicious! The food is seasoned to perfection. The ambience was nice and mellow as I was having an early dinner. The service was wonderful. Shout out to Paradise my server as she made sure that I was well taken care of! Thank you, Paradise you helped to make my dining experience exceptional. I would definitely visit again!

I finally had the chance to experience Sol Delish in the University area of Charlotte. Last weekend I had family in town and we visited Sol delicious on Saturday. My experience was so good that I returned again on Sunday. The wait was about one hour, but it was very organized. I knew where my place in line was, and I had time to walk around and visit other shops before getting back in line. I really can't understand where the negative reviews come in because my experience each time was a five out of five. On Saturday my waitress was Fatimah. She was very personable and professional. She helped make suggestions on the menu as well as drink options. When our food arrived to the table, Fatimah constantly came around to check on us, although the restaurant was beyond busy. Unfortunately, we didn't have Fatimah as our waitress when we returned on Sunday. The food and drinks were equally as good. The waitress was good, but not great. Overall I would constantly come back to this restaurant and wait in line to enjoy the delicious food. The turkey wings are so tender- They practically fall off of the bone. I have nothing to complain about. I hope to come back here again and again very soon. I want to experience the live music edition.

Be prepared to wait because this place does not take reservations and the line is usually long. I waited for a little over an hour for a table of 3. I will say that it was really good food though. The cornbread was complimentary and it was more pancake like and not really giving cornbread to me. The fried flounder plate was great. It was well seasoned and well fried. The seafood mac n cheese was amazing and was worth the extra $9 with clear chunks of lobster and shrimp in it. The yams are AMAZING too. I will definitely be coming back here again. Service to get a table is slow but once you're sat, wait staff is attentive and quick.

Turkey wings, green beans, both great!

This place is a soul food haven! Now, I went to the new location that has plenty of space and plenty of seating. There is a high top bar area with more of a happy hour vibe and the more restaurant area behind it with booths and tables. But I have to admit, the service was a bit interesting. Everyone was nice, but the food came out slow, there were mix ups in the orders, and it was hard to get side plates and refills at times. Overall, the turkey wings WERE SO TENDER! The Mac and cheese was well done, great green beans, and amazing yams. This is a meal you leave with leftovers and I feel the pricing was affordable. Oh but that "jerk" label on those wings is incorrect. If you are of Caribbean decent, you will be upset lol. Still go try and enjoy your two days of food!

Sol Delish opened a larger location in the university area and I stopped by during lunch and they were packed. I had the collard green dip and the turkey burger with Mac and cheese. Everything was good but I did notice a difference in the Mac and cheese from the other location so I won't order that again. I look forward to trying some desserts on my next visit.

    Another call attempt

My Family members went to the Sol Delish restaurant tonight for the first time. I looked at the online menu and asked My sister to bring Me a ToGo order. I called the restaurant several times to ask questions and place a ToGo order. I could not get an answer. So, I sent the order to My sister to place the order and bring it to Me. I ordered: Baked Garlic Parmesean Wings Meal with Yellow Rice and Candied Yams $17.50(Online Menu Price) I asked for All FLATS and Extra Garlic Parm Cream CornBread Sweet Potato Pound Cake $5.50(Online Menu Price) As they were leaving, My sister advised My bill was $45.00!!!! I questioned WHY and she said I was charged a 20% Gratuity Fee because they were a 10 person group. Even with that, the cost seemed too HIGH. I asked did she get a receipt and she said the server did not give her one. She just did a tap payment. I asked her to cancel the order. She went back inside to return the food. They would not take it back. She asked for a receipt and had to wait for a manager to get one. The receipt showed two teas that were not ordered by Me that cost $8.00 total and the Gratuity was $7.05. So, I was charged $15.00 extra and never stepped foot into the establishment. When My sister questioned WHY I was being charged the Gratuity, she was told because the ToGo order was placed by someone with a Large Party. She was told I should have called it in. I advised I called several times and got NO ANSWER and that is why I asked her to place the order for Me. Now, to get to the food. I ordered the wings based on the picture I saw online with Parm Cream on them. It was the same for the Candied Yams. Both were a disappointment. The chicken had no Garlic Parmesean Cream. The Yams and Rice were both dry. Plus, the overall presentation was subpar. The CornBread was decent. However, the Sweet Potato PoundCake was a 5/5. The cake is why I rate this experience a 2. I do not see myself patronizing this establishment again.

Chicken wings Collard Greens and Sweet potatoes

Everything was wonderful loved it I will be back if you come to NC this is a must visit for soul food

    Afro centric pictures

First I will start out with scenery, it was absolutely beautiful and the music catered to the 90s. It was so calming and loved the Afrocentric pictures. The service was okay, our waiter seemed to forget our drink orders, but it also seemed like that there was more people standing around, bussing tables than waiters. Now the food, as long as we waited you think that the food would be hot hot but it wasn't it was luke warm, my turkey wings were dry, collard greens were more like candied greens (not sure who eats sweet greens) but you can see the brown sugar sitting on top of the greens. I chose the Mac and cheese seafood (very disappointing) dry, there were only 2 shrimps and 1 piece of lobster meat literally and remind you it's an extra charge. It was not busy for the amount of time we had to wait for our food. Oh salmon bites and yams were delicious!!!

This is the fried flounder (perfectly hot and crispy) with collard greens (no pork) and Mac n cheese! That bourbon mule was everything!

Everything was on point! I'm a picky eater since I love to cook! I had zero complaints, food didn't take long and was perfectly seasoned and HOT which I LOVE! Made no modifications at all! (Which is very rare for me) The DRINKS were made to perfection! The service was great! The live music was amazing. I am so glad it's near my home because I will surely be back again and again!

Luckily we snagged a spot and walked over to the lake area. We were seated quickly and our server took drink orders and gave us a chance to review the large menu. You get a choice of sides, and we tried the Mexican street corn salad and the Mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the corn salad. It was served cold, but I wasn't really a fan of the taste. The Mac and cheese looked creamy and gooey and was told it was really good. Next time I will order a different side. The atmosphere here is bright and lively with a nice view of the water where you can take paddle boat rides. People love to walk over here, so it is nice to have an open view. The restaurant has a tiki bar vibe and has surfing theme throughout the place. Really fun and relaxing. This is a great stop if you are in the area, expect to circle the lot a bit on the weekends, but the food and atmosphere are great here. We will definitely return to Boardwalk Billy's.

We ordered the Sol Sunrise and the Berry Delish - Both were not only good but strong as well. Our waitress was polite and offered some good recommendations on what to get. The waffle was fine - Didn't look or taste like a fresh waffle but again it was fine. Those potatoes??? 10/10 - I could've just gotten those and would've been content since I'm an avid potato lover! Also, got the Sol All Star Breakfast. Waffle, Eggs, Turkey Bacon, and "Homestyle Fries." Everything was cooked as expected and taste was good. It's a nice brunch spot right at the boardwalk. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything. My total with tip was about $40 and I think it was worth it for all the food I got. Would be a fun place to return too! Good job, Sol'Delish!

Both times it was cooked as requested. The bun is nice and butternut and crispy. I tried the pizza, it's decent pizza, nothing amazing, but I doubt you'd get it and think it was bad. The crust was good, very crisp and the pizza is light with a little crisp to the dough, definitely not soggy. I had the French onion soup.... Unimpressed. I may be a French onion snob as I've been lucky to travel around the country and tried numerous soups (including in France). This was very average, I like the bread to be a little crispy, this was soggy, and the cheese, once I pushed into the soup. It all kind of gelled together. Like you can't get bites with other parts of the soup. I was literally using my knife to try and cut it apart so I could eat it in pieces and not one huge chunk. But it became too tedious and eventually I had to eat the cheese all together. I really liked the chicken wings, cooked well, I really enjoyed the bbq sauce. The wings are by far my favorite. As I have to come here multiple times a year to visit our office. I'm sure I'll try more food. For a hotel restaurant, it's pretty good.

My wait time was approximately 10 minutes, and the counter attendant was efficient. The ambiance is blah. Blue paint and a vaguely nautical tone. No bells and whistles, just there. The increasing tip pressure, particularly for take-out orders, has become very frustrating.
