Stopped in Uptown Yolk on a Saturday morning for a brunch drink (one of the few places near where I was staying that was open at 10am). I cannot critique on much as we didn't stay long (just one drink) and an order of the potatoes. The layout is interesting, as the server's coffee station breaks up then back dining area and the front. Then the drink station is on the wall perpendicular to the coffee station. And the bar is as soon as you walk into the door on the right. There's a small waiting area with a few tall chairs and games in the corner I don't know if it was just us (maybe bc we were only indulging in one drink), but we didn't feel a warm welcome vibe from the staff. Though we didn't eat more than potatoes, the food that came out of the kitchen did look and smell delicious.
I stopped by Uptown Yolk during a quick visit to Charlotte. I decided to try the chicken and waffles after seeing a tiktok video that talked about how good the wings were. The wings were okay and had an unexpected sweet/saltiness to them. The waffle was the star of the show for me. I had my reservations about it because it was a cornmeal waffle. The server told me the cornmeal gives the waffle it's fluffiness. It was really good. I would definitely get it again.

For 8am visit, the music was quite vulgar, explesive, and offensive. If you listen to type personally or if we're in a club that's one thing. Food is spectacular! Service is good but be prepared for a wait during brunch hours on the weekend. The ambiance is upbeat and vibrant. Great place to visit. They validate parking for 90 minutes. All of the food was so good we went two days in a row.
This place is always booked when it comes to reservations so please book in advance. We made a 1p reservation for Sunday and still ended up waiting about 30 minutes after the time to be seated. However, the food was well worth it. While dining with friends we all ordered a variety of foods to be able to sample it all. The French toasts and waffles were my favorites. The potatoes were also in my top favorites. The eggs were a little salty. The chicken thigh in my option was also overly seasoned for my taste buds. This is not to say I wouldn't return but I know egg-actly what I'm ordering: the WWII
I had the pleasure of dining at Uptown Yolk in Midtown Charlotte, NC. This is a very popular restaurant that was booked and busy from the time we arrived until we left! It is black owned and quite a gem! Modern decode, with very large windows. You can watch people walking to the entrance hoping to get a seat ( I would definitely suggest making reservations)!! It was a great experience and the food was delicious. The ONLY reason I gave it three stars is because we waited 45 minutes to get our food. My friend who invited me assured me that this never happens and that the kitchen was probably understaffed . They also had several large parties with 8 or more people which most likely added to the delay. The server was very nice and she kept checking on us and updated us as she could. The party sitting next to us waited nearly an hour for their food and the manager came out to speak to them and apologized. I will give them another chance the Next time I come to visit Charlotte and I believe that they will receive five stars from me! To the owner: You all should consider opening a restaurant in Greenville SC!! I think it will do very well!!
I was greatly surprised that they take reservations but so glad they did. Hubby and I went for Sunday brunch. The hostess checked us in and we were seated promptly. Kim our waitress was so nice and I asked if the pancakes were good and highly recommended them and she was right. We got shrimp and grits, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sweet potato biscuit, toast, sweet tea and hot chocolate. We sat outside it was nice outside plus only seating when I made our reservation. Note they do validate parking but after 90 minutes there is a discounted price with validation. We will be back,

My custom omelette with Canadian bacon, mushrooms, and peppers arrived piping hot and paired perfectly with a side of their creamy grits. Pro-tip: If you love a unique crunch, go for the cornmeal waffle with the pecans baked right into the batter. While I personally realized I prefer my pecans drizzled on top, the quality and service was great. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to test out even more from their southern inspired menu and great service.

I liked that the yogurt dish with the grapefruit wasn't super sweet. The only thing I would say was that the hostess wasn't at the stand for the first 10 mins we were there and servers and bartenders walked past the stand multiple times without acknowledging us. The sausage patty was just a hamburger and it dried up pretty quickly.

The food was delicious. I love home cook southern food. The serve staff were very attentive and helpful. I love the colors. They were warm and earthly. There were many colors but non over powered the other. Loved it. And as we sat there the place started to get busy. Perfect time for us to depart.

The fried chicken has an interesting taste, don't think your typical fried chicken. I can't place the seasoning right now but definitely not salty. wale was moist and tasty. 9/10 - prepared great! I also had a side of grits, not my favorite. i ordered the curious george, a whiskey drink. it reminds me of a mule with whiskey. Location has a garage for easy parking and they validate tickets. Service was friendly, took about 10 mins to get my drink. Ambiance is bright and pleasant. Nice brunch spot, nice music playing in the background as well.

Recently visited Uptown Yolk on my trip to Charlotte. Was disappointed with the customer service here. We waited 25-30 mins for our table even though we had a reservation. Note that this place gets very busy on the weekends. Once we were seated we felt rushed by our server to order and leave. The food here is okay. The standout for sure were the pancakes, which I would definitely come back for. The music also sets a nice vibe. I hope management sees this and improves their service. read more

Made reservations online. Quick and easy. Paid parking in the area #ParkMobile Let's get into the food. It was absolutely, mouth watering, delicious. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint and was worth $23.00. Slightly spicy and I loved everything single bite. One of my best meal choices I've made in a long time. My girlfriend ordered the eggs, bacon, toast with a side of grits. The grits is sooo creamy. I just want eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service was decent. Kim made good recommendations. We were immediately seated when we arrived. The music was amazing for a Saturday. There was a slight wait for the drinks. Curious George was mediocre but the margaritas was the wave. The location and the bright fun vibrant space is definitely inviting for brunch. Service is decent. Limited indoor seating and a few tables outside for dining. The food left me on the blah meter. Tried the Chicken & Sweet Potato Waffle with a side of scrambled cheese eggs and bacon. Also ordered the Shrimp and Grits with a side of pancakes. Both the waffle and pancakes have a corn mealie background texture. Definitely not my preference when looking for fluffy light breakfast cakes. The chicken was good and fresh. It was seasoned with an Adobo style seasoning which can get tiresome while eating. The best items for me were the eggs and bacon. They take reservations which are recommended if you're going during peak times due to limited spacing. Also will need to search for parking due to no business parking lot. read more

The only thing I didn't like was it was à la carte almost instead of just meals with side dishes, but it wasn't too expensive and I also enjoyed the music that was a whole vibe. For my first experience at Uptown Yolk (which I was SOO looking forward to), I'm sad to say it was not great and it was mainly due to the service received. From the time that we arrived, we didn't wait too long. But it was a rushed experience until leaving. The server forgot multiple items that I ordered. It was hard to find the server as well and had to ask other servers for assistance. The final straw was that after finally receiving food (along with my drink finally coming), I had to pretty much rush to finish eating and drink my drink because "we have another party coming in who has this table reserved." This was all after not even an hour, while multiple other tables were chilling and taking their time, not being rushed. If you knew that another party was coming in so close to us sitting down, why would you seat us there? Just wasn't a good experience. Inside is really nice and well put together. But everything from my first visit here has left a horrible taste in my mouth about the restaurant, a place that I wanted to love...and I truly do not like that. read more

The staff was cool, not very attentive but we weren't pressed by it they were super nice. The location is large and has some outdoor seating. Food, Ambiance, & Customer Service= First Class We were a party of six and were able to get in before the crowd picked up. This was my second time visiting uptown York. I came about a year ago and I don't know why I didn't write a review. Our server was Kim and she was absolutely amazing. The entire staff was nice and upbeat. I ordered french toast it was tasty but I really wish that I ordered a bowl of tn fries with heavy toppings like other people in my party! We will be back. read more

Do NOT walK.....RUN to support this establishment!!! The food is AMAZING!!!! The vibes are AMAZING!!! Plan to wait bc they are packed and do not seem to have adequately staffing but the wait is worth it. The chicken is some of the best that I've EVER had!!! The egg yolkwich sandwich was great as well!!! I'd revisit without second thought!!! If I had to complain about anything it would be the wait but it wasn't terrible! read more

Nice restaurant with super cute decor. I love all the artwork on the walls and the recycled flower vases. There was a tad bit of a wait on a Saturday morning, but there's a comfy seating area to wait. I sat at the bar and the gentleman that helped me was great! I got a mimosa and The Wisconsin with bacon, peppers and cheese, side of grits and toast. The grits were really good and flavorful! The omelet was pretty typical, but satisfied my hunger. read more

I ordered the shrimp and grits which were rich in jerk flavor with a pesto sauce. The food came out hot and was very enjoyable. The service was mediocre. The waitress was very friendly and hospitable. However, the waitress forgot some items we ordered like the potatoes. Also, my friend ordered grits and it took a long time for the order to arrive at the table. Service could be improved. The ambiance was nice. Very welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. This spot was worth the hype! Not only was it a gorgeous vibe inside, but the food and service matched. We were able to get a reservation down the same day and were greeted nicely and seated quickly. The food options were plentiful - it was honestly hard to decide exactly what to get. I got a side of eggs along with french toast & it was delicious! I would recommend going here for a little brunch date or hang with friends. It's a nice relaxing experience & you'll leave FULL. read more
We looked at several places but I'm so glad we decided on this one and OMG I'm so glad we did! This place was amazing very eccentric but still a homey vibe. The food was amazing. Everything was good but the sweet potato biscuits and tn fries were the highlight of the meal! I made a reservation for 2 and the hostess was kind enough to accommodate 3 of us. We arrived early and initially it seemed like we would have to wait until our original reservation so we were preparing to leave when our name was called. Nice. I ordered an omelette with potatoes and a side of jerk shrimp. Food was ok; since we heard great things about the shrimp and grits I was excited to try the shrimp. Sadly I didn't like it. Our server was very nice, but after taking our order, she disappeared and it was hard to find her to order drinks. The sangria was too sweet for my taste unfortunately. As I was eating the last bite of my food, the server came over and asked if we were ready for our checks. I thought that was odd. 5 mins later, the hostess came over and told us that the next party for our table had arrived and basically they needed us to leave. This was 1 hour and MAYBE 10 minutes after we were seated. Mind you, most of the tables around us had been seated before we arrived. If they sat our party of 3 at a table for 6, it would have been nice to know that from the start. It didn't feel good to be rushed out when others were given time to enjoy their meal. Horrible experience at a place I had been looking forward to visiting, very unfortunate. There's room for improvement for sure. read more
The food was good. Ordered the Cornmeal Belgian waffle with 3 chicken wings (seasoned). The wings were huge and a little undercooked for my preference server gave a response about how they are smoked and then fried, in that event they should have been cooked evenly, the waffles seemed tough this go round. I will say as far as the drinks they fill it up with lots of ice. I was very disappointed as I looked forward to the speciality drinks. Omelette was good. Server seemed attentive in the beginning but I told her about the wings being undercooked it fell in death ears. read more

Fantastic brunch spot. I got the There's Fire and it was extremely good. A nice little spot that's in South End and even on a holiday, the service was still quick and we were in and out within an hour at the bar. Would highly recommend read more

Amazing food, ambiance, and the service was great! I would recommend making a reservation so that you do not have to wait. Luckily I did and we were sat as soon as we showed up. I got a pancake, eggs, toast, and potatoes. The pancake had a sweet, buttery taste to them, and the potatoes were nicely seasoned. My husband got french toast, which he said tasted average. Definitely would come back to try their chicken and waffles. read more

Make sure you have a reservation because this spot stays busy for a reason. We booked ahead and were seated outside, which I actually loved since I enjoy the heat. Service was quick and we didn't have to wait long to be seated or for our food. Everything was delicious, but the French toast was definitely the highlight. The drinks were really good too, even though I forgot to get a picture. I also loved the inside, it has a really nice vibe. Would definitely go back. read more

I was really excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. Everything was seasoned so well and the eggs were nice and fluffy. The sweet potato biscuit was interesting, it gave me cornbread vibes but not really sweet. Service was efficient and speedy. The ambiance is nice and family friendly for brunch. Quiet enough for a conversation not a turn up vibe at all which was perfect for me. We made a reservation for Sunday at 11:30 and around 12 it started to get packed so I definitely recommend making a reservation. read more
