Let me start by saying I have been here twice not and I am still not sure about it. So both Fridays I have gone it has been dead and they put us in the same side and same table in the restaurant. I asked if we could set at another table and it was like I asked for husband and kids to take home! But she moved us to the other side of the room to a different table. We go sit and let the server know we are still watching on another member of our party. She says okay then leaves and comes back maybe 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order, nope still waiting on the other member to our party. This goes on what seemed like forever but wasn't and so we just ordered for the person we were waiting on. I just like if the whole party is not there and we said we were waiting don't keep coming back every 3 mins. This has happen both times. And mind you it is never full/packed. There were 3 other tables that had people at them. Then are you ready for your check sure just bring it. Then she comes back picks them up then she is like do you need anything else. No we are just sitting here talking and hangout. If you want people to order, eat, pay and get the hell out there should be a sign outside. Then a problem I have with them is you order something that is on special then they tell you oh no that's not on special. Now with that all said the food is good but it I can't enjoy my food or my company then what is the point. You go out to enjoy the food and the company you are with! So I hope this helped so what. I am not one to write reviews, but what happened at Let's Crab is a food safety issue that other patrons need to know about. During a birthday dinner, our server acknowledged she had delivered the wrong seafood boil to a guest and took it back. Two minutes later, my order arrived -- it was the same bag, with a half-eaten potato, already served to and partially eaten by someone else. The server's response was "eww." Management offered a $20 credit toward a future visit and nothing more. The meal was still charged to our bill. This is not a complaint about food quality. This restaurant re-served eaten food, charged me for it, and showed no concern when confronted. I am filing reports with DHEC and the BBB. Avoid this place. read more

First visit here. The fried flounder was a little dry and crispy. Boils looked OK. One drawback was a notice of an 18% service charge for a normal family of 5. Lots of seating in a few different sections. Lots of easy parking. Not much for a non meat eater. Bathroom has seen better days and needs a serious painting and repairs. read more

We went in for a bite to eat and were very disappointed. My aunt , mom and sister got the soup and salad. I got Tilapia with the salad. My aunts shrimp gumbo was extremely spicy and she could not eat it. She sent it back and they still charged her for it and didnot offer to bring something else. The salad was bland and the tomatoes in it were not ripe. My food was okay but had more breading than Tilipia . What fish there was on the plate was very dry. My sister did not like her soup it was bland.A full set of silverware was not brought to the table and had to track down waitress for a knife to cut to huge unripe tomatoe. It was also very dark inside and the music was extremely loud which made it hard to enjoy our lunch and have a conversation. Would not recommend at all and we will not be returning. read more

I was part of a party of 10 celebrating a birthday. Several guests ordered seafood boil. After three orders had been served, our server returned to check on the table and acknowledged that one guest had mistakenly received my order. She collected the bag -- at which point someone at our table joked that they hoped it wouldn't simply be re-bagged and returned. That, unfortunately, is exactly what happened. Two to three minutes later, my seafood boil arrived. Something immediately seemed off as the bag wasn't as warm as typical seafood boils are. When I opened the bag, it was the same meal -- identifiable by a half-eaten potato -- that had already been served to and partially eaten by another guest. The server's immediate reaction was "eww," which, while honest, is hardly reassuring. A replacement was brought out roughly ten minutes later at no additional charge, but by that point I had no appetite. The only acknowledgment offered was "I'm sorry that happened." When the check arrived, the seafood boil was still on my bill. This is not a case of dissatisfaction with a meal -- this restaurant attempted to serve me food that had already been eaten by someone else and then charged me for it. After we raised the issue again, we asked for a manager, but was told they couldn't find one and we were offered a $20 credit toward a future visit. I cannot imagine any reasonable customer returning after an experience like this. We requested a manager again and "Gabby" arrived with a dismissive attitude and offered no resolution beyond repeating the same $20 credit towards a future visit and repeating, I'm sorry that happened. There was no acknowledgment of the seriousness of what had occurred, no accountability, and no meaningful corrective action. This is a food safety issue, not merely a service failure. If a restaurant is willing to re-serve partially eaten food, there is no way to know how broadly unsafe their food handling practices may be. read more

When I arrived and tried to present my live app confirmation, Gmail receipt, and Navy Federal banking transaction to resolve the mistake, the manager refused to look at the evidence, ignored me, and walked away. DoorDash support later verified that no delivery drivers were active or assigned to this location during that time. Management has since doubled down by submitting an entirely false timeline to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to hide their staff's security failure. Your money and personal data are not secure at this establishment, and management will lie to regulatory agencies rather than take accountability for their internal mistakes. My husband and I decided to try this place instead of our usual crab boil spot. The restaurant is cute with amazing decor, but that is where it ends. The service was slow. The food was mediocre in flavor although the seafood, eggs and potatoes were very fresh. My husband ordered a regular, traditional martini using the $6 special. We were told by both the server and the bartender that this drink has vermouth. What we were not told was apparently there is an extra charge for vermouth? I'm not sure. I do know that we were charged $11 for a martini. $8 for the martini and $3 for another charge. When we went to pay, he asked why the difference in price only to be told AFTER the fact that the drink wasn't included in the $6 special. That is fine. We paid our total. It would have been nice if someone, anyone (our server, the bartender) had mentioned the special only included Cosmos (not even a martini), Appletinis and drinks like that. All it takes is a little communication. However, upon realizing the miscommunication, we didn't even get an apology. I will stick with Hook & Reel in the future. read more

When I was pregnant, I was obsessed with steamed seafood, so this place really did hit perfectly

We had a group of 8 to dine here. They are famous for their boils, but my husband and I had a late lunch and did not want to eat much. Our friends liked their boils. Two folks got the clam chowder and thought it was good. The interior is cutely decorated with nets and wood paneling. Our waitress was good about checking on us. I got a cocktail that had champagne in it and the champagne was flat. Our friends got a peach cocktail and liked it. I got the shrimp fried rice and it was so greasy, I could barely eat it. I took a few bites then asked for a box to take it home so that I could mix it with some white rice at home to diffuse the grease. Hubby got the fried shrimp basket. It was good. I'm graciously giving this place a 3 because I didn't get what they are known for : the boils. I just didn't feel like getting my hands and possibly clothes messy. They provide bibs, but unless you're under 10 years old, it's not a good look for dinner. Lol read more

Went in a Friday night. We were seated immediately. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was amazing. Gabby was our waitress and was very pleasant seeing as it was our first time. The create your own combo was what we went for. Medium heat is perfect if you don't like it too spicy but still want a kick. We also got a catfish basket and the fish was fried to perfection. A friend brought me here for chicken wings. I thought it was funny that we were going to a seafood spot for wings. However, I'm glad that I agreed with this decision. They have amazing fried chicken wings and the spicy/hot house sauce was great. I also tried the bowl size shrimp gumbo, which was delicious. I wish I got some to go. My only complaint is that this was not served in an actual bowl, but a soup saucer of some sort. I need that good stuff to come in a Saturday cereal sized bowl. The eggs were just ok. Well boiled, but you can tell the seasoning was just thrown in there. I guess I expected it to be cooked in it somehow. I dunno, lol. The fried shrimp was like any other fried shrimp I've had. Nothing bad about it, but nothing to write home about either. Same with the fries. I did try this drink that they recent came up with names The Mermaid, and it was pretty good. I gotten three of those and was feeling pretty dang good by the end of the meal. I should add that our waitress was awesome. She recommeded the drink to me, and was very familiar with my friend because he was a regular to the point where they know what he wants before he even sits down. Ordered clam chowder as a starter, I've had chowder in a can that tasted better. Two of us ordered fried fish (one catfish one whiting) and fries with a side (add-on) of coleslaw. One ordered the Crab and Shrimp boil. Fried fish was inedible. Way too greasy and batter was salted way too much. Fries were ok, but also very greasy. Neither of us could eat a whole piece (comes with 3). We never received our coleslaw. Was the worst meal I've had this year. Would have rather had Capitan D's. The only highlight was the Crab boil. That was quite tasty and wish I had ordered that. Was a decent amount of food but wasn't cheap. Bottom line... wouldn't recommend however if you do end up going stick with the Crab boils and stay away from anything fried. read more

I ordered the steamed oysters and the seafood combo with blue crab, clams, corn and potatoes. The oysters were decent (it was probably my mistake not ordering anything on them) but what I was really looking forward to was the seafood food combo because blue crab is my favorite food. The corn, potatoes, and clams were delicious and flavor of the seasoning used was AMAZING but the crabs themselves weren't fresh. The meat was dry and I could tell the crabs had been cooked then reheated. I really want to go back and try something else because the flavor was SO good. My family and I went here for dinner. The food wasn't bad, but our seafood boil was served, drowning in a bag of butter. The butter took away some of the natural flavor of the seafood and made the meal mediocre for people who don't like a lot of butter. I think it would've been much better if they had just steamed the seafood and added seafood seasoning and served the butter on the side. Our crab legs were a little harder than normal to crack because the butter had softened the shells. The fried oysters and hush puppies were great. Every time I go in this place it is dead and I wondered why. I dined there tonight with a friend and we also dined there last month so this was becoming our regular spot. We had our normal meal tonight and we were almost ready to leave when my family asked me to bring them something home. I called the server over and told her what I wanted to do and said I had a coupon. Can I use this to get two to go orders?. She confirmed what I wanted and went and placed the order. They bagged up my order and brought it to me. A short while later, she came back and told me they couldn't use the coupon because it was dine in only. we then said we would eat some at the table and she said that wasn't acceptable so I told her I didn't want the order. If there was an issue, she should've told us upfront and not after giving us the food. We did ask the manager about it and she was extremely rude. So the partial owner is the lady that controls the bar. She has a terrible attitude and was purposely leaving out the liquor in my drink. When asked she said no liquor went in it and had an attitude about my drink. She was making the men's drinks strong so how would liquor not come in mine. Recently moved to NC and was craving seafood. Stumped upon this place and very happy i did. It was pretty quiet inside, not a lot of people but I also went at a non peak hours. Inside was nice. My server Ian mentioned he was relatively new. Was very nice, he was young and attractive, always a good sign to see. I ordered the hush puppies he recommended which were good. Also ordered the shrimp gumbo to start. I liked it, but def could use more of a kick. For my entree I ordered the sausage and crab boil with the let's crab special seasoning mild. Tasted little to no spice for my preference so next time I'm definitely gonna try either medium or the next one up from that.
