I met up with a colleague this evening and it was a "work" meeting despite the fact that we each enjoyed a frosty beverage or two. Kit's is doing a great job with their COVID protocols. Masks are required. Tables are sanitized. Social distancing is required. We each enjoyed our beers and their wifi while we talked about the upcoming project that we've been assigned. Kit's is a friendly spot and they have a long list of beers on tap. When the weather warms up, this will be a great place to sit outside. Excellent bottle shop even closer to Columbia, SC if you don't want to go to Charlotte for those hard to find items. Magnificent selection of can beers in the cooler to drink on site or to take home. Snacks available while you drink , nice people work here !

Kit and the crew were very welcoming to this first timer, as they made me feel like family from the moment I walked in the door and I definitely got a "Cheers" type vibe from the place as there was a diverse cast of characters around the bar and everyone made me feel right at home even though I was a newcomer. The staff was also very knowledgeable about beer and conveyed their knowledge with passion and enthusiasm, as each person behind the bar had the heart of a teacher and came across like they truly loved their job and getting the opportunity to share their love of beer with others. I asked our "beertista" (is that a word, if not, I am claiming rights to it now!) to set us up with a flight of varied beers so that we could get a feel for what we liked, and she walked hand in hand with us on the journey explaining each beer without being condescending or judgmental at our lack of knowledge, which was awesome, because boy do we have a lack of knowledge! This was important though, because far too often, some brewery employees come across as as pretentious and seem to look down on you if you don't know the top 5 differences between a stout and a lager or whatever, or actually look down on you period if you dare mention the lager word haha. Not here though, as they were all about helping us find what we liked, not try to convince us why we should like a certain thing. That to me is what made me feel so comfortable, because I truly felt like they enjoyed helping us discover something new while also helping us discover our "unique taste profile", so that we could find what we truly enjoyed. Kit's doesn't just set the bar, but it is the bar (see what I did there!) when it comes to craft beer places, as today's environment seems to put an emphasis on quantity and name recognition over quality and education, but Kit's simply focuses on being a friendly, welcoming place where you can learn about and enjoy a good beer with friends both new and old, all while being treated like family, and at the end of the day, isn't that what we all want....a place we can call home.

Only been here twice but will be going more now. What a gem, not really hidden as it's on old Pineville's main drag. Everyone is super knowledgeable and helpful but not in an overbearing "I know more than you" way. The selection rivals anything in the CLT area. It's probably better than Carolina Beer Temple tbh. Very close to Salud. Can't recommend enough. Stopped in for a pint and a couple 4 packs to go of Hopfly.

Family friendly establishment with Cari Sun juice boxes in the beverage fridge! LOL Dark was in tap and super yummy. I wish we started here first. I cant remember the yummy beer or company; but, everyone was happy with their beer selection. The staff was well knowledge and appeared to really enjoyed serving up their wonderful brews! So glad we stopped in! I will be back!

This is such a great chill spot. Parking is easy to find. Staff is friendly. They greet you you right when you come in. I love the decor. Very rustic and clean. My husband and friends got their selections of beer and they were all happy with the pricing. They also have some snacks you can purchase. We were here for a few hours and the service was great. We will definitely come back.

Great space in Pineville!!! The atmosphere here is top notch. I love the exposed brick and the railroad lights! The bartender was very kind and helpful. They have a great taplist with a little bit of everything! Anyone can find something they like here. Also, the package selection is fantastic! I absolutely love that they let you break up 6 packs/4 packs. And you can drink anything on site! So great. This place is nestled nicely in downtown Pineville. A must if you're in the area.

Yay for Kit & his crew!! I have been really excited for this place to open, I am looking forward to being a regular! I went for opening day yesterday at noon. The location is beautiful, exposed bricks and beams, colorful & creative seating, and small enough to be cozy but big enough that you don't feel cramped. Located right on Main Street in downtown Pineville, this is shaping up to be quite a little hot spot! Street parking can be tricky, but there are plenty of surrounding parking lots. Kit is a Certified Cicerone, and has put thought into every inch of this place. From the beers on tap, to a cask and bottles on shelves, everything is figured out. Service was quick, even during the grand opening. People were pulling wraps out of one of the coolers too, I'll have to get in on that next time. There is a great mix between Charlotte local, regional and national beers, and Kit's crew knows their stuff. Fede talked to me for a bit at the bar and told me about the hops in this beer and that beer. He also explained that ideally they want this to be a learning space. Somewhere that you can go to really learn about beer and explore the different styles and figure out what you like/don't like and why. I really think that Charlotte needs a space like this, one where you can ask questions and not have to google things under the bar to pretend to fit in - looking at you, hipsters... I love this concept, and these guys. Highly recommended! I'll be back soon!

You might want to take a seat while you read this opening observation: Kit's is located by the side of the tracks and serves craft beers. Ok, Phew! Now I got that out of the way, on to the review: I have finally made it to Kit's! Between family visiting for the holidays, being sick and being on vacation I continued to hear good things about this new spot from my beer loving co-workers! (That, and one time trying to show up at 10:30 not knowing they close at 10! -- See, always check Yelp!) They were not wrong in anything they reported back! Friendly, helpful staff keeping tabs on a clean yet rustic interior all while flowing a great selection of crafts at great prices! That, my friend, is the way to keep the doors open! Since no food is served, you are welcome to bring in your own nom noms to enjoy - which is benificial to making it through a night a adult beverage partaking. There are televisions for your enjoyment, if you so desire not to socialize. Because I was enjoying conversations with the aforementioned beer loving co-workers, I can't even tell you if there was background music. That's a plus - because that means it wan't ridiculously loud! And, no unnecessary bands in a tiny space! Glad to see more cool spaces popping up in quaint 'ol Pineville!

It's embarrassing I hate to admit but I want other people to know what I've experienced so the same disappointment doesn't happen to them. A friend brought his MTG cards to town and was looking for someone to play. Being an old "veteran" of sorts, I took the opportunity to play again for the first time in 10 years. The process was easy. In fact, I'm not sure if my friend even asked permission or paid a fee. We walked in and grabbed an empty table and started playing. It was a Saturday afternoon and before long the place started to fill up with people. Some guys came in with a game called Urban Insanity that they were demoing. Kind of a modern/post apocalyptic rendition of the more well known Carcassonne. We ended up jumping in on a game of that. Before I knew it I saw beers floating and passing around. There were other tables popping up with all sorts of other games going on. People setting up what was bound to be an intense game of Warhammer in the far corner. Another guy quietly painting figures with his headphones in. A great cacophony of noise from all of us playing Urban Insanity. And another amalgamation of tables near the front of the shop that was getting kicked up about some other games. It was like watching a movie and I realized this was a pretty happening, fun place. There are actually taps here - so that's where the beer was coming from. Quite the surprise to me. Lots of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from too. Magic the Gathering and other table top games go without saying, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the extensive board game collection they have available for purchase from here. I feel a draw in my soul to eventually come back for another event to highlight a new game some time in the future. Looking forward to it!

It's quite apparent that this place has a serious problem starting with management and working its way down. Long story short, we bowled for two hours and during that time they lost our first food order, delivered the second order placed with 6 min left of our two hours of bowling and delivered it missing food and drinks. During this time our bowling lane kept erroring out and it was nearly impossible to track someone down to fix the problem. When we did find someone, the person was so incredibly rude and snarky. I told one person about our error, she stared at me, didn't say a word, and walked off! Then she came back later to blame us for the issue claiming we had too many bowling balls, which was not the reason the pins wouldn't reset First person we talked to about food: told us to place our order at the bar because we had alcohol in the order. Second person we talked to: told us that the food and drinks would be delivered to our bowling lane Third person we talked to (after waiting for our order over an hour): told us they did nothing with our order because they can't bring alcohol to the lane while holding up the list we gave them. No one informed us that they wouldn't put the order in, contrary to what person 2 told us. Talked to a manager who then put part of our order in. Second order was delivered incomplete with 6 min of bowling left. Food was so disgusting and soggy that I wouldn't have fed it to my dog. I informed the manager to refund us and we went to Chipotle 3 min down the road to eat. Time will tell if I'm charged for food we didn't receive or food that wasn't edible! Needless to say, we will go somewhere else to bowl and will never step foot in this poorly run "establishment" again! Pics are of the error we continued to get on the lane, the incredibly rude bartender (supposedly her name is Ashley) and the ridiculously large bee in the waiting area which just sparked interest.
