A very interesting beer bar where you can buy a wide variety of beers to take away - the selection is overwhelming. There's also a large selection of draft beers. They have beers from all over the world. The bar is clean, the tables aren't sticky. The staff is friendly, and they show sports broadcasts.

Fun hangout spot in Matthews with SO many beer options. The menu is available via a QR code and in Untappd for their draft selection. They also have a huge selection of exciting and different beers in coolers in the back as well as stacked high on shelves. We had fun sipping beers and looking at all the cool beers available. No surprise, we found a few to buy and take home. Wine selection was good and they even had Meade. Very good wine options in stock to buy and take, with reasonable pricing. Oops, bought and took some of that home too. Food options included several good trucks. We happened to go when the makers market was spread alongside the street next to the beer temple. There are several good shops in traditional storefronts next door as well. Great place to hang out inside or outside, meet friends, and shop- for drinks or fun!

New to the area - as a craft beer fan, this place was everything and more! Trevor behind the was super knowledgeable, the regulars at the bar were welcoming, and the selection was second to none. They had a good amount of local offerings, some fun one off's from outside the market breweries and killer Belgian imports that are really hard to find. If you are a beer fan, this is the place to be! They will be moving to their new location in mid Feb 2025 and I'm stoked to see the bigger space!

The spot was really cool and they had so many options. I don't drink so I grabbed a THC seltzer that they had. I love that they had two different options of milligrams. This is also a great spot to go if you love a good brew. They had so many options on tap.

The setting is perfect - their seating outside is in the sun or the shade, so you have your choice! There is also plenty of seats from which to choose as well as the amount of alcohol they offer. The rosé from the can wasn't the best but their other drinks were tasty. Definitely recommend!

Great service, broad and deep selection on tap and available to go. Nice to see families and even pets.

Nice environment and good selection of draft beers. They don't serve any food, but they allow you to bring food from the surrounding restaurants. Good place to relax and enjoy a beer!

What an abfab little beer find in Matthews! Not only do they have some pretty awesome stuff on draught (they had a 2013 Vicaris when I was there on Sat!), but they offer lots of local brews as well. They also have beer by the bottle or can and though it isn't a big space, they have a surprisingly robust selection! They don't serve any food, but they work w/the Pizza Exchange Depot (which is delicious!) who will deliver pizza to you here at no additional charge, which is such a great concept! The staff here know their beers and I was lucky enough to be there when they opened some great (and rare) bottles and gave out samples to those of us who were the barflies for the night. I had come in ready to get caught up on some reading while enjoying some beers on tap, but ended up having an evening full of great conversation with fellow beer enthusiasts! I also really loved that they let you "try before you buy" with anything they have on tap. I was glad I did with one of their pricier offerings as it did not taste like I thought it would and was thankful to not to have purchased. I like that they offer 8oz, 12oz, and 16oz sizes so you can decide how you want to enjoy each brew and how much of it you want to enjoy! They also do an excellent job of serving each respective beer in its appropriate glassware (and no, this is not snobbish or pretentious, it actually does make a difference as each glass is made for particular styles to accentuate and amplify each style accordingly). To say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed would be an understatement.

Carolina Beer Temple is a bit of a disappoint. It has recently located to a smaller location. There is a small but diverse beer selection for both on-site and take home.

Owner and staff were all chill and knowledgeable. Clean spot where their glassware was spotless. Taps vary daily or hourly depending on the the popularity of the pour. No food is served but is welcome. Outside and inside seating. Crowlers, growlers and cans togo ,oh my.

Matthews finally has beer! Well, not really-i'm sure you could find a beer somewhere in Matthews, but the Carolina Beer Temple makes a cool place to hang, try some local brews, and have an altogether great time if you are a beer connoisseur. Located right off Main Street in the same block where the town hall/library and other shops are, the place is a great addition to the shops around downtown Matthews. There were a couple of outdoor tables with umbrellas which will be perfect for hot summer nights, but when I visited the weather was not quite cooperating (rain). It gave a us a chance to hang out inside though. You can sit at some high tops, lounge on the couch, or sit at the bar, but you still get a nice relaxing atmosphere in order to taste some pretty kick ass brews. I'm not sure how many they have on tap, but the menu is a good selection. The back half of the store has shelves and racks of growlers, 20oz bottles, and six packs of beer. So come in, enjoy something off the tap, or come get your beer to enjoy from your home. Rob the bar tender was super friendly and made an effort to learn your name. He checked us out via iPad and my receipt was emailed to me (horray for saving some trees!).

Beer selection and ambience are both worth it. Live music and food trucks add to the whole experience. A definite go-to!

My complaint is that the manager doesn't step in when his customers yell at people passing by on the street with whom they disagree.

Went in on a Wednesday night. We were the only customers in the place. Staff was really helpful in recommendations and service was awesome.

It was pretty full but we did find a spot. - the vibes were fun- definitely a bar feel!! Lots of TV's with sports on, decorated cute for Christmas, dimly lit like a bar- fun vibe! - we easily got a table at 6:00 and there was also bar seating - they had an extensive beer menu and some cocktails. They have a full bar. - the truffle fries and aioli was really good! - they left a carafe of water on our table so we could refill water glasses and didn't need to wait on them to fill up our water. Although the water cups were plastic/ disposable cups. What we didn't like: - they only had 4 wine options. I guess it's a beer scene but I wish there were more wine options! Although the one I got was good. - the food wasn't great. My husband got a burger and ordered it medium rare. He said half of it was medium rare but the other half was rare and not even cooked which he didn't learn until it was half eaten. He did not even eat it and needed to get a second meal after we left. I got the salad and it wasn't great. It tasted very watery, also not flavorful. The dressing was too thick- almost like a dip, so it wasn't great for a salad. - the burgers don't come with a side and it was pretty pricy for just the burger. - we got a beer, glass of wine, a burger, a salad and a side of fries and it was over $50 before tip which seemed pricy - the service was not great. She was great at the beginning, then we didn't see her for a while. We were ready to go and she was no where to be seen.
