Went here for my birthday. Sat at the bar with my wife and a friend. Had a couple beers with lunch but beer lines were not really that cold. Bar was not busy but we had to ask to place our order and the bartender was more interested in what was on her phone than helping customers. Food was on point as always. Music in the kitchen was a little loud and we could clearly hear it at the bar. Not being a Ken here but I'd like to hear my conversation more than music from the kitchen that was inappropriate in an establishment with kids. read more

Came in on a Saturday while my daughter was at climbing team practice. Sat at the bar and Nancy was the bartender. I had 3 tvs to watch with various sports. I ordered nacho fries and a Moo Burger with chili, brew cheese, lettuce and tomato. Enjoying an Eastcider's Peach cider while waiting.... The burger was very tasty and was cooked perfectly. It ended up being a fork and knife burger because it was so sloppy!! Even so, it was great. The nacho fries were crispy and had ample toppings including black beans, cheese and chives. The food was delish! But the waitress service was poor. Had to ask for refill for each persons drinks at table - 2 kids 2 adults. Just one refill. Seemed overly burdened when I asked for an itemized receipt printout. I for sure will return for the food, but I gladly left a less than 10% tip. When I have to constantly ask for assistance as the waitress doesn't visit our table after delivery of food I see that as a negative event on a business performance. Was so excited to try this new location and we were disappointed. Not as good as the plaza Midwood location. Things we liked: - there is a big parking lot behind the restaurant. It was pretty full but we did find a spot. - the vibes were fun- definitely a bar feel!! Lots of TV's with sports on, decorated cute for Christmas, dimly lit like a bar- fun vibe! - we easily got a table at 6:00 and there was also bar seating - they had an extensive beer menu and some cocktails. They have a full bar. - the truffle fries and aioli was really good! - they left a carafe of water on our table so we could refill water glasses and didn't need to wait on them to fill up our water. Although the water cups were plastic/ disposable cups. What we didn't like: - they only had 4 wine options. I guess it's a beer scene but I wish there were more wine options! Although the one I got was good. - the food wasn't great. My husband got a burger and ordered it medium rare. He said half of it was medium rare but the other half was rare and not even cooked which he didn't learn until it was half eaten. He did not even eat it and needed to get a second meal after we left. I got the salad and it wasn't great. It tasted very watery, also not flavorful. The dressing was too thick- almost like a dip, so it wasn't great for a salad. - the burgers don't come with a side and it was pretty pricy for just the burger. - we got a beer, glass of wine, a burger, a salad and a side of fries and it was over $50 before tip which seemed pricy - the service was not great. Really wanted to like this location but there were some pretty big issues that were hard to ignore. Have been to the central location and had no issues. First off, we didn't order anything crazy, just burgers, but they took forever to bring them out. The burger was medium rare-medium... Raw or pink ground beef is a serious no go for pregnant women! My buffalo fries had clearly been sitting out for a while (probably waiting for the accompanied burger to be ready.) The buffalo fries were definitely not worth 9$ there was a half a tablespoon of blue cheese and a wimpy splatter of buffalo sauce, and both tasted and were visibly dry from sitting under a heat lamp for too long. I had my reservations because this spot is brand new, but honestly giving this 5 star review was easy. We had the best waitress who was super attentive, even on a busy Saturday afternoon. Our food was above average with every single bite. We ordered an array of burgers and fries that were all cooked perfectly and packed full of flavor. The cocktail list was amazing and unique. Good service on a rainy day at lunchtime! Two of us good burgers and fries. Each order of fries is HUGE and very tasty. One had the blackened salmon burger. Another great experience at Moo & Brew for dinner tonight! Four of us walked in for a table inside and were seated right away. Our server came by the table very quickly to take our drink orders. We each ordered wine, beer, or an Arnold palmer. All of which came out pretty quickly as well. As for the food, it was all fabulous too! The bacon cheese fries were a hit again and large enough to share for the table. I tried the hot chick sandwich tonight which was delicious! All of the entrees were served warm and were very tasty. We will never come back!! Our first and last time. My Son & I ordered Chicken Wings & Burgers. Service was quick to order. Food was terribly slow but place was empty at 2 pm in afternoon. Why soo slow on getting food? The Wings were the WORST IVE EVER HAD!! Cold, Very Dry & Almost Burnt to a crisp!! The drink was bold, blue & beautiful and really packed a punch. Their food menu has a ton of unique options as well as some classic items as well. A few friends and I shared the Hot Chick, Rocket Turkey, and the Melt along with some rosemary parmesan truffle fries. Finally got around to stopping into Moo and Brew to satisfy a hamburger craving, and was pleasantly surprised. My fiance and I shared a bison burger and a moo melt. The moo melt was a smidge greasy but the bison burger was an excellent burger, with a generous size patty, not overcooked, and with toppings that didn't overwhelm it. Service was fast and friendly, and everything was reasonably priced. My only complaint is that fries do not come with your burger, and have to be ordered as an extra. read more

I've always loved Moo & Brew and think they are easily in the running for the beet burger in the city. If I had one complaint about their original location in Plaza, it's that it is kind of small. Well this new location in Matthews doesn't have that issue! High ceilings, open space, and a beautiful horseshoe bar with lots of TVs. Combine that with the quality burgers you've come to expect, and you have a great place to watch sports. That is just what I did on a Saturday recently to watch some college football. The service was great, and like always I was able to make a burger using the build your own menu and it came out fantastic. Add in some cheese curds and several beers, and it made for a fantastic football Saturday. Perfect post-long run treat! A few friends and I were looking for a spot to chow down after a 9 mile run. We were planning on going to flying biscuit, but it was a Sunday morning and it was packed. Thankfully Moo & Brew was next door and just opening. We were all craving burgers, so it was the perfect pivot, and the most pleasant surprise. We loved that there were outdoor seating options since we were all drenched. It was a very chill atmosphere since we were the first to get there. The servers were really attentive and really kind. I loved that there were a variety of stickers at the front as well. The food also hit the spot! We ended up sharing a large rosemary and truffle fries, which were cooked perfectly. Crispy and well seasoned. I ended up building my own sandwich with fried chicken, jalapeños, banana peppers, arugula, herb aioli, tomato...it was mouth watering. Pretty sure I ate it all in a 5minutes flat. Definitely a nice spot to stop through for a filling meal. Parking was pretty easy and it is a great location in historic downtown Matthews. They have fried cheese curds for those of you from the Midwest! They are delicious. They had what we call pork rinds they call chorizo's they looked delicious . The fries were great . The burgers perfectly cooked. My son had truffle fries. We had the regular fries . They both had the farmers daughter burger which has an over easy egg on top. They have have plenty of beer and the Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's were extremely popular on a Sunday afternoon. The bartender very friendly and attentive . I meant to get his name. We ordered a side of fries and potatoe salad since the orders do not come with a side. Everything was very tasty and served promptly! The seating area is cozy and not overly loud. They also sat me (at my request) at a nice bench with a soft cushy back on it since I have lower back issues and need some support .Great beer choices as well. We especially came here for the black bean burger. They claim they changed their brand of the black bean burger. Um what you brought out was not black bean. That would require the patty to be even remotely dark in color. What was brought out was their meatless chicken and they tried to pass it off to us as black bean burger.
