Girlfriend took us here since it's easier due to her two kids being with us. This restaurant is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. We were greeted and shown to a table without any wait. The waitress was pleasant and took care of us. We are pretty easy with our food orders and everything came out pretty quickly. I ordered the tuna bowl which I was ecstatic for since I've been eating barbecue the last three days and needed something lite. This bowl did the trick. The restaurant itself looked pretty normal with your basic decor and tables. I would say this is a good choice for a family with kids. read more

Much prefer the layout and atmosphere at the mint hill one but we always come to this one for the consistent food and the wonderful staff. The bartender always remembers my drink. Servers are on the younger side given the area but very knowledgeable and trained very well. read more

Placed a pickup order and was not disappointed. I arrived earlier than expected and was directed to sit at the bar until it was ready. I just ordered some bourbon honey wings and pretzels. The 6 wings were big, sticky and sweet. It comes with ranch and celery. The pretzels were the best part! Crunchy exterior, fluffy interior and flavorful. Comes with 2 nice sized full pretzels, not bites. The dipping sauces are a homemade honey mustard and a queso. Both were good. You have to eat the queso dip fast before it stiffens. I am a frequent diner at the Matthews location. I have to say that the manager, Brian, is awful. To have a manager deliver a meal to a table and just drop it off with no words is beyond comprehension. I've also observed said manager just walked by dirty tables while his employees are slammed. I feel sorry for a lot of the quality staff they have under a manager like Brian. read more

We really want this place to be good since we live so close, but it's been disappointing. The last time I went, I ordered chicken strips and the chicken wasn't fully cooked. The tater tots were also extremely salty. To be fair, the manager did comp the meal, which I appreciated, but I still went there to eat, not to have a meal refunded. The visit before that, my wife ordered a kids burger since she doesn't eat a full one anymore. We were charged an extra $4 because she's an adult. I get an upcharge, but after adding cheese, the total was only $1 less than a full burger. At that point, it makes more sense to order the regular burger and throw half of it away, which feels wasteful and ridiculous. We want to support a nearby spot, but between food quality issues and pricing that doesn't make sense, it's hard to justify coming back. read more

Came here a week or so ago, casual sports bar frrl. The servers and bartenders are super friendly. This place is kind of small butnit has a good charm to it. The food was really good i had a burger per usual. Kind of hard to fuck that up. Which to their credit they didnt. Definitely look forward to coming back. read more

Food is always fresh and delicious. we eat here about every two weeks. Our go to. No matter what we order it is fresh, delicious and served by pleasant people. They have some new tables which are comfortable. Love the build your salad option and the family orders everything form a power bowl to hamburgers and chicken wings to salmon. the appetizers are awesome. The drinks are well made too. I met a friend for dinner here last night, 11-16. I ordered the shrimp tacos & broccoli. I was on the fence about ordering the broccoli; the server mentioned that it was marinated. I'm glad I tried it. It was pretty good. The tacos were good. I was only interested in the filling. If you're starving, they may not leave you satiated. The server was nice enough to let us know about the martini specials. That sour apple was some kinda wonderful. My friend thought our server was a little pushy & ingenuine. We'd barely had our dinner when she asked us about dinner & our checks. She seemed to forget about my friend's shirley temple as we saw her sitting down & using her phone. Went in for a quick bite to eat with my daughter with my wife out of town. The place was fairly busy however we were seated right away and were able to put in our order not too long after. It took quite awhile to get our food and while it looked fine it was barely warm. Nothing fancy or complicated - just an Order of nachos and some chicken tenders. We decided to go ahead and try to just eat it but the food quickly turned cold. We tried to get the waitresses attention but she was chatting with coworkers at the station and then just disappeared the next time I went to try to get her again. We finished our food and waited and waited to see if we could locate the waitress again until someone- likely a manager asked us if we needed anything. We asked for the check, paid and at that point finally spotted our waitress chatting with her coworkers at the front desk before going to the patio. It's a shame because this place is 5 minutes from our neighborhood but we won't be back soon. If you want to pay for average (and cold) food with bad service this is the place for you. read more

First thing I noticed when I came inside was how warm it was. Either the air was not working properly or they did not have it on low enough. They have a great beer selection and the beers were reasonably priced. The food was bad. We started with the fried pickles and as you can see in the picture, it was unlike any order of fried pickles that I'd ever had and not in a good way. It looks like they took one large dill and just chopped it up haphazardly with no plan or goal in mind. Some pieces were tiny while others were too big for one bite. Most importantly, they didn't taste good. You know how you hear people on those restaurant shows talk about being able to taste the love people put in their cooking? I get it now. There was no love put in this food. My steak was without seasoning and tough to cut and chew. Equally unseasoned was my broccoli. They don't carry thousand island so I got a runny blue cheese instead for my salad. The bland salmon that will run you twenty bucks tasted like it had just came out of the freezer. No wonder so many seniors were here, the food is very similar to what I have tasted at a hospital cafeteria. Maybe if I lived closer I would come back during a cooler month and have a beer at the bar? But I don't and I won't. read more

My family of 4 waited 10 minutes for a table on a Friday night. No problem. Waited at our table for 20 minutes and no one came to our table even for a drink order. I spoke to the hostess and asked if they forgot about us and she promised to send a server right over. 5 minutes later a server takes the order of a table who arrived 15 minutes after us. We left. Restaurant was very empty Saturday night when we arrived. The hostess was able to seat us immediately. Thought it was a bit strange that the manager was kneeling on the booth bench behind us, talking to what sounded like her friends, as we sat there and waited for service. We waited for a good bit with no service so when the manager finished conversing, I asked her if she could send a waiter or waitress over. She seemed bothered by my request. A couple minutes later a waitress stopped by. Not sure what the manager said to her, but she clearly had a negative attitude, never introduced herself, never smiled, and seemed bothered to have to ask us if we wanted drinks. Again, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. We gave her our order. She never said thanks and simply walked away. We walked out. Wish I would have spoken to the manager but pretty sure they knew why we left. read more

What can I say about Char Bar No 7? Tony the Tiger would say ITS GREAT! Everything we tried was delicious starting with the pretzel appetizer and the nachos three ways was outstanding! I had the # 7 Smash burger well done. Wow! I will be back for another round of that soon. My wonderful family also had a couple of smokehouse burgers that was delicious. My wonderful wife had the filet mignon with shaved Brussel sprouts. GREAT! Everything was GREAT ! The company that I was with was even GREATER. I have been here a few times but this time a the first time leaving a review. This is a nice restaurant, conveniently located with great premises. I have never had a bad service experience. Their service has always been good. This time was no exception. Our waitress was very helpful and courteous. The food overall was okay this time. We ordered the Charleston Burger, Fish and Chips and wings. The burger and wings were really good. The fish and chips not as good as previous times. The fish was greasy and not as tasteful as I was expecting. This is a nice place to spend a good time with the family and friends. I will continue coming to this restaurant. read more

Guys. Come ON. I have been here enough to know that it can be average/good but man, today was a BUMMER. Manager Brian was a HUGE let down and was unprofessional and honestly unapologetic from the get go about our situation. It was just rough and could not find a way up. There were maybe 15 people total dining. Games are on, server is missing half the time, drinks for all took 15 min. App was 20 min. ??? Kids KRAFT Mac n cheese with a mandarin orange bowl from Walmart - 25 min. Sheesh. Adults food was average/fine in quality but another 10-15 min after that! Our server was Marsha Brooks. She did a fine job. Refilled our drinks and the food did not take too long. We go to Charbar every few months. I always order a medium burger and always get Well done. One day I hope they will surprise me, but I won't get my hopes up. This time it seemed like some of the high tables' chairs were new and were comfortable to sit in. Over the past year, this place has gotten better. There were times last year and the year before they did not have enough cooks to keep up with orders and we waited almost an hour for burgers. Thankfully, they seem to have enough staff now. We'll be back in a few months and see how that medium burger comes out. read more
