Not sure why others haven't rated Roosters or done reviews however, they're missing out. Such a classy yet laid back place to enjoy a beautiful farm to table meal. I didn't get pictures of the open kitchen or the outside patio area but both were lovely spaces. I had the short rib which was tender and flavorful. My wife had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. We shared the Au Gratin potatoes, Mac and cheese and roasted beets. The service was spectacular. Our waitress answered all our questions with concise answers. It is on the pricey side but definitely worth it. I also had a cocktail that was wonderful! read more

First time at Rooster's with mixed results. The service was fantastic. The waitress was attentive and answered all questions. Went with the Salmon and Au Gratin Potatoes. The salmon was fantastic. It was well seasoned and cooked well. The potatoes had potential but fell short. They were a bit cold and not seasoned. They had a good amount of cheese and potato but the lack of seasoning and somewhat cold just couldn't overcome those issues. Next time I would pivot to another side dish. This is a restaurant located in the bowl community of Ballentine. You can park in the street parking or the shared lots. It's apparently a chain restaurant the menu is limited. We had the calamari as an appetizer which was salty. A cook was just too heavy handed with the salt. My burger and onion rings were salty as well, however I really did like the mimosa that I was able to create. It wasn't on the menu. They use some of their pear juice, which made it quite delicious. Will definitely come back for that again. The waiter was professional. The restrooms were clean. Overall, there was nothing that released stood out about my experience. First time dining here. Decided to have dinner here to celebrate my husband birthday. I made reservations about 2 hrs before the visit. Arrived and was seated immediately. We started with the calamari. The taste was decent; however, they filled the bottom of the plate with the dipping sauce and they included fried lemons. Not really a fan. We ordered the salmon, trout, succotash and scallop potatoes. The trout had no seasoning and the potatoes were really salty. When asked how was our food, we informed the waiter that the potatoes were very salty and he said there's a layer of Parmesan cheese on top that made it salty. The manager came over and we shared the same feedback m, he asked if we had high blood pressure and was the salt going to do something? No funny and a pretty dumb ass response. They also served us really cold/nasty sourdough bread The service was slow and food was just okay. Likely won't be back for the price/service. read more

Man Listen. I love this place! I find myself at their bar for dinner and drinks at least once a week. However (Stephen A voice). I decided to be adventurous an order their $75 ribeye. Quite possibly the worst ribeye I've ever had -including that time I ordered one at a local sports bar. I asked for medium and got a rare steak. They took the steak back and brought it back out at medium rare. I ate it that way because I hate sending food back. It had absolutely no flavor. Zero. It's a 15oz steak and 8.5oz was fat. I was charged $4 for adding butter to the steak. That is what it is I guess. I could go on but you get the point. The au gratin was solid and as always the staff was amazing. read more

The hubby and I stopped in during the week for a spontaneous date night dinner. This was his first time and my second but it's been years since then. Well we opted for the Mac and cheese and the onion rings for appetizers. The Mac was okay but a little too watery versus creamy. The onion rings are shoestring thin and they come in a big pile. They were tasty but a lil too salty and limp. We added the onion rings to the Mac and cheese and it was perfect. For entrees I had the trout and he got the wings. The trout was beautifully plated but overly salty. My hubs liked the wings and the ranch dressing. Drinks were good. I had an old fashioned but inky b/c the whiskey selection is limited for sipping. All in all this is a great spot for dinner, drinks and ppl watching out on the patio. We'll definitely come back and try more menu items. read more

Returned here for lunch/brunch. The service felt rushed but it was Valentines so no worries there, it was busy and I guess they were trying to turn tables quick, fair. My biggest thing was the food, it was mediocre at best. Husband had the ribeye sandwich which was good, spinach lacked any salt and requested some but never got it. Hear me out -- Do not get the avocado tartine from the brunch menu thinking it's a standard avocado toast with smoked salmon-it's not. See pic for reference. What I received was burnt toast, hardly any avocado, but the overwhelming pile of "smoked" salmon that tasted very fishy with a pile of pickled onions thrown on top, no good. Take this off the menu. Had to order another dish (burger) which I felt terrible about but I couldn't eat that, the staff was very nice about it. A positive note, my 10 month old liked the salmon so we boxed it up for him. I really enjoyed my dining experience here. We were able to make last minute reservations. The meals are all a la carte. Everything ordered was tasty. Our server Melissa was great. She remembered our orders, kept our glasses filled and kept checking on our table. The salad was the most delicious and the anchovies on top gave them the right amount of flavor and saltiness. The fried oysters were crispy outside and tender inside. The Chicken was cooked to perfection. The succotash and mashed potatoes took me back to my childhood. My mother used to cook that for my father on Sundays. Everything we all ordered was delicious. I'll come back for the seared scallops or sea bass next time. I waited until our 2nd visit which was only a week after our 1st to review. Our lunch server was fantastic. She provided recommendations and told us that because the pizza station was on the other side of the kitchen, it may come out before or after the others entrees. Dinner server was okay. I mentioned I wanted my salmon medium. It was dimly lit so I didn't realize it was actually more raw the closer to the center I ate until it was just raw. She asked if I wanted to box it up. When I mentioned I didn't because it was raw, she said she forgot to tell me to get it medium well because the kitchen was still figuring out temperatures. Lunch - chicken pizza. I don't know what herb or spice is on it but it was less than appetizing. It tasted like an overdose of cumin. It's large enough to share between 3 women. I suggest a bbq pizza w/a bbq base and role the bbq chicken in it. The fries at lunch left a lot to be desired. In some cases, it was not totally fried. Double dunk'em. Onion rings are like Noble Smoke. Those are to die for. I could eat those all day. It's a new location so there are some kinks to work out like shades on the top windows - multiple tables wore their sunglasses the whole time, my dining companion could not find a spot at one point that wasn't blinding her. The layout I feel bad for their servers it's not the easiest to navigate and lots of sharp angles for patrons to walk to the restroom and collide with wait staff. During the day, blinding and at night very dim so I couldn't tell how my fish was cooked. There must be a happy medium. After it works out some of the kinks, Roosters will be a welcome addition to the Bowl. read more

Our first time trying & absolutely no disappointments. We had the lamb meatballs as an appetizer and although the portion appeared small at first, the quality and taste made it worth every penny. Their pizza was the best I've had. My husband got the lamb sirloin and he loved it. The green circle chicken was tender, juicy & flavorful. First is foremost is the service by the receptionist who let us wait for almost 40 min and told us it would only be 15min. I asked my husband to check why they not page us and why the wait was too long. Their reply, was that they called and texted us which was not true. He scolded and told them that he didn't get any call from them or text. They seated us immediately after he scolded them. Upon seating our server was great and he accommodated us well but the food not that great because it was way too salty. I was bit disappointed because this is my first time to the area and we are loving our stay but our experience with this restaurant was not that great. Went for lunch with another couple . Service from bar was forever. They weren't busy except for outside. This place is ridiculously priced. 25.00 for chicken in some kind of buttery sauce???? All the sides are between 10 and up . Onion rings were limp and there were more crumbs than onion rings. Calamari was good but again pricey. End up spending over 150 just for us. My wife had an ok hamburger and I had chicken and a couple of sides. Unless they cut prices I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

I came in here recently with some friends who live in the area. I am a huge fan of the Uptown location so I was excited to see how this one compared. The first thing I noticed was that the area was quite large. We went on a bright sunny day and the large glass windows from floor to ceiling made the place feel vibrant and energized. It was a busy lunch crowd and at times the staff seemed to be struggling, but they held it together and battled through it, so I have no complaints about the service! I got the duck confit panini which came with a lovely blackberry vinaigrette which paired nicely. The duck was cooked perfectly and it was all in all a wonderful sandwich. If I had to choose I'd probably choose the uptown location just because it has a bit more of an intimate vibe, but I can't hold that against this location, their food and service holds up with the original and is a wonderful representation of the brand. Those who live in Ballentyne are ecstatic to see the restaurant scene really taking off and this is a great example. read more

I noticed there was chef's table seating and a full service bar as well. We enjoyed the service over all but they were busy so it was taking longer for us to get our drinks and appetizers. We were able to get a table on time, got water immediately and waitress got our drink and appetizer order right away. We had ordered an array of different foods from soup and salad to pizza and short rib. Everything was incredible. I had the tomato bisque and salad and I loved it. Was really hoping to like this place, as it is close to our home and we were excited to give it a try, but unfortunately the service was inattentive at best as our server would do very well in Vegas as a headline illusionist, as she was able to make herself disappear for long stretches, except when it came time to pay the bill of course. No water refills, no updates on why our food was taking so long, no checking on us. It's unfortunate, because we were hoping to add this one to our rotation, but given the high price points and the "low" service, not somewhere we will be frequenting moving forward as there are far too many options in the Ballantyne area where we can receive mediocre service for a lower price, so no reason to pay the premium here in our opinion. read more

Understanding the location is relatively new, the food simply did not meet expectations (no where close to Rooster's South Park), especially when considering the pricing. Port tenderloin, Brussel sprouts and wings all came out luke warm (that's being kind...it was actually cold). Our server, Kacie (who was terrific by the way) mentioned this was not the first issue she had experienced with cold food on the day of our visit. Asked to see a manager, who did remove the tenderloin and wings from our bill (8 wings for $20...not a typo), but she tended to defend the kitchen when doing so. When we sent the food back, the food runner that brought the food back to us asked "were you the table that asked for a reheat". Needless to say, we were stunned by that comment, but even more troubled by the fact that the food was literally "reheated" and put back on the same plate. No new setting, same accompaniments that were on the plate before, including the piece of tenderloin that I took a bite of that allowed me to determine it was cold! While we appreciate the fact the items were removed from the bill, it just was not what we had experienced at Rooster's South Park, nor something we expected from a restaurant charging the prices they choose to charge. For the record, we were ok with the prices, but certainly expected the quality to meet the expectations of the prices. Never say never, but not sure we'll be back to this location. read more
