Yep, they did it: impressed me so much that I am giving it one of my few-and-far-in between, precious, five star ratings. They are THAT good. Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The most important elements are the biscuits and the gravy. Additions are many and varied, but if the basic two items are not both excellent, you will have a disappointing experience. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. And if you are timid, start here. Otherwise, there are add-ons like very good fried chicken, shrimp and grits, ham, pulled smoked pork, crab, bacon, fried shrimp. fried eggs and other combos. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle. I was hesitant as to the maple syrup, but it is just enough to give accent to the gravy, but not super sweet. Wife had Fried Green 'Maters ($9.50) which were four fried green tomatoes, their signature pimento cheese with a pickled okra garnish. She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. Vicious Biscuit is more that a meal, it is an experience, even a journey, through this traditional southern staple, biscuits and gravy. Enjoy the trip. We might see you there. read more

I just can't go above 3 stars. Its such a tragedy. I come every 3-6 months to mediocrity. It's so weird because when they first opened it was delectable. I got a Vicious today although I wanted a Fat Boy. It was beautiful. The fry was golden, jalapeño biscuit was gorgeous, and it was slathered in gravy. I expected a flavor explosion and it was a dud. The Chicken had absolutely no flavor, the beautiful biscuit was flat and the gravy tasted like Libby's fresh out the can. I was so disappointed. It was indeed flat. I expected so much more. The line was line was so long we placed an online order. Sat down and we were asked to leave because we were supposed to place order in line. There were plenty of tables vacant. The sign said line moves quickly- don't believe it. Food good, but was so hard eating it in the car with 3 people. Need to post a sign telling customers not to place order online. It was suggested as a good spot for my family brunch. A few members had been there. I went to pick up the order. It's in a large plaza so parking is available. There is a line for carry out/mobile and those eating in. I got the basic, hen solo with potatoes. I also order a side of fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed the sandwich. The potato's were basic breakfast potatoes. The fried green tomatoes were okay. It could have used more seasoning. I was hungry so started with the basics sandwich. I will check out more soon. The waffle was very cinnamony & the chicken was super crispy! I do wish I would've gotten extra syrup because at some point the waffle felt a little dry. My family and I chose Vicious Biscuit as the first stop for breakfast in Charlotte. When we first walked in, we were a bit leery about it being "self-serve". A great biscuit indeed. Decided to give this place a try and it's a win. While it may look busy, tables turn over quickly so don't get discouraged. It's a walk up, order then find a table so if you don't know what you want right away, it's not a problem. I went with the Chicken Bacon Ranch and was not disappointed. The biscuit is a knife and forker. Not sure how I would eat this otherwise because it's a big sandwich. All the flavors of this sandwich make it a hit. It all works right down to the crisp pickles. Second time coming here and both times it has been enjoyable. Both times I needed a quick meal and vicious biscuit got the job done. I had the Fat boy last time and enjoyed it. Stopped by on our recent trip to Charlotte and as a biscuit lover, we had high hopes. Came right at lunch time on a Friday and it was not busy at all, so we ordered and seated ourselves no problem. We started with the Jalapeño Cheddar Pups which were really good, we also got some additional butters from the bar that paired really well with these. I got the Crab Benny which had a crab cake, fried green tomato, sunny up egg and hollandaise. Really tasty overall, the biscuit it self was fluffy and all the toppings paired very well together. This was our first time visiting Charlotte, and we decided to stop by Vicious Biscuit on our way out of town--and wow, what a pleasant surprise! I visited Vicious Biscuit for a girls' brunch and found it to be a charming little spot. The process is straightforward: you order at the counter, find a table, and they bring your food out to you. Ordering went smoothly overall, but there were a couple of hiccups. My chai latte arrived and was quite good, but two of our group members didn't receive their coffee cups initially. Apparently, you're supposed to pick up coffee cups at the front, which wasn't clear to us. We had to go back up and ask for them. Additionally, one of our friends ordered orange juice, but when we inquired about it after it didn't arrive, we were told they don't sell orange juice on its own--only as part of a mimosa. The food was amazing. I'm not from here, but saw this on Yelp while looking for brunch and I'm glad we came here. The Vicious Benny was delicious, and so was the Shrimp and Grits. If I were you, I would NOT get coffee with the shrimp and grits - the flavors are too contrasting. Bitter coffee (in a good way; I got decaf), savory meal. That doesn't take away from the fact of how good the food is, though. I also loved the customer service and their willingness to help decide what to get. Walk to the counter, order, pay, then go seat yourself. Also, the jelly/syrup/help yourself bar?! Getting our own coffee creamer, utensils, etc. was awesome. Great spot for brunch. I came here on a weekday during lunch. Its rather spacious with ample seating inside or out. There was not much of a crowd. I was able to order quickly. Once you place your order, you are given a number and are free to seat yourself. The servers bring your food out to you. It did not take long for my food to come out. The shrimp and grits were really good. I HATE okra...but...they had pickled okra on the side with the fried green tomatos..babay...when I tell you those okra were delicious. I found a new snack. The fried green tomatoes where just ok, they did notbtaste ripe. It also comes with a homemade tasting pimento cheese and it was delicious. The chai latte was just ok, I've had better. Long story short, i was served a cold chicken sandwich after waiting for 20 minutes and only 2 other patrons in the place. One of those patrons was with me. I brought the sandwich up to the front and showed the owner, I'm guessing. The owner took the sandwich to the back and 5 minutes later came out to lecture me on the cold Franks hot sauce. I had expressed that the chicken on the sandwich was cold too. When I showed him initially, I was touching the cold chicken in front of him. Anyway, 10 minutes later and no food .
