Honestly, this is gonna sound crazy, but that was the best homemade chicken cutlet I've had anywhere, in a very long time. My mom used to make the best, this is just as good. Ordered a Reuben sandwich, take a look at the size of that baby! Excellent flavor, portions are incredible. Everybody, who knows when I post anything about potatoes? It's not my favorite thing in the world. However, those potato pancakes were even better than my mom's! Seriously, you have got to try them and yes I'm going to get them again! The plate of two cold cuts? They are made in house, not ordered/delivered in from a third-party. Freshness, flavor, texture - wonderful. Honestly? If I need sandwich meat, this is where I'm going from now on. I tasted a little tiny container of cucumber salad, and potato salad, again? As good as my mom made! I've ordered cucumber salad from other places, but it tends to be soft and just not fresh, you know? Absolutely not the case here - crispy, fresh, perfect amount of seasoning in both salads. I sound like a broken record, reminded me of my mom and her salads Lastly, he gave me a sour pickle and a mild pickle and I agree with him 100% I would not bother with the mild pickle either. They really do taste watery, but the sour pickle was excellent. The gentleman that served me and the young lady behind the counter were so much fun to talk to! Reminded me of Home (New Jersey) he was such a comedian! I said 'there's no way you can hate cheese' it was such a fun visit! A wonderful experience, again the cost for the portions and the quality? I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. Can't wait to try out a couple of other sandwiches. They also have handmade desserts and other wonderful items that you can order from the deli. I saw one that was made with mac & cheese, but it was more on the sweet side. She said so almost like a dessert treat? Seriously, stop in and give them a try. I've driven past them for months and they've been closed. I sent my wife to your deli for a Ruben sandwich. I am disabled with 20% use of my right hand and 60% use in my left hand. I have difficulty cutting up food. I asked her to ask your staff to make a regular sandwich that I could hold in my hand instead of your usual open face sandwich. Your staff refused to make a regular sandwich stating that "we just don't make them that way". Would it have been so hard just to accommodate a disabled customer? read more

Continuing my globe trotting and seeking nirvana . In Charlotte NC, and found KATZ deli and yes we asked, is there any relationship with New York renowned Katz Deli. The young lady indicated no. However, the food was on point...I thought I had died and went to heaven...the food was absolutely off the chart...in NC and eating NY....the service was outstanding with the staff constantly asking about the food and was there anything they could do for us. Small restaurant but enough room to seat about 20 people comfortably. Reminded me of my old neighborhood deli. Meat was fresh and delivered to the table. The rest room was clean and there was a young lady continually working yo clear the tables and address other issues. This is a must do if and when in Charlotte. read more

Katz is a bit of a hike from home , but I was in the neighborhood getting my Pre-check renewed and had 30 minutes to spare. It is one of my all time favorite places especially when Lee is working. I used to take my son here when he was a lil guy. Ordered the Jim's way; potato pancakes with pastrami and 2 OE eggs. It's was outstanding! I'd never been to a Katz Deli before. I went with the pastrami sandwich on rye. My buddies ordered reubens and I think they made the better choice. Expecting the food to be brought out to the table, I included a tip as well. I'm happy to pay for any form of table service. The sandwich I got was underwhelming. I didn't even take a pic of it because it was so sad looking. My buddies' reubens looked delicious and huge. My sandwich just looked like an afterthought. My buddies did, indeed, have their orders delivered to the table. Mine, well, I had to go get it at the counter. So I was a bit disappointed in my experience. I hope to give this place another chance one day. I won't leave a tip though going forward if there is no table service. read more

There used to be a Katz Deli on Providence Road in Charlotte NC that I used to go to till they closed. Loved the place and it was great Kosher food. Not sure if it is related to this particular Katz Deli but this one is very good as well. With the popularity of Katz Deli in NYC the name Katz would probably be very common among Kosher Deli's. An old Friend of mine named Richard from college passed away several months ago. His wife Crystal was my youngest son's God Mother. When Richard passed, they help a memorial service for him which I attended. Very nice service and we will miss Richard. After the service, it was lunch time and looking on local restaurant on yelp, I found Katz Deli. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, it was a bit hard to find but I found it. Looked over the menu and got a Lox and Bagel with Red Onion, Cream Cheese and Capers. The bagel was amply cover with Poppy Seeds. Could not have asked for anything better. Got it to go and ate it at home along with a Corned Beef Sandwich for my wife. A bit out of the way from Denver NC but it was so good, I'm planning another trip in the near future. read more

I used to go to Katz when it was on Providence Rd near the Arboretum. After they moved, I hadn't been in awhile to the new place. After having tried bad Reubens for a couple of years, I decided to take the drive to the new location and let me say it was FANTASTIC! Their Corned Beef Reuben is by far the best I've ever had. It's not even close. It may well be in my top ten list of best things I've ever eaten. For Rosh Hashanah this year we decide to load up for the family feast. We got the Reuben, potato pancakes, Matzo ball soup, pastrami sandwich, sour pickles... and it was all top tier. Add to it the great staff and this place is a must for great food. read more

I knew this place existed for many years but never tried it because I didn't think it would be good. I was recently looking for a good pastrami sandwich and read the reviews that all seemed to be positive. I figured I would give it a try. The staff was very nice and it was quiet when we went. I was VERY surprised at how delicious the sandwich was. I shared one with my son and my other son ate a whole one. It was very filling and came with a side and pickle. We were thinking of ordering from the Katz deli in NYC, but after eating here we changed our mind. Do not hesitate to go as I did! You will not be disappointed. Wouldn't you know it.I got my pastrami fix in North Carolina. After haggling with my buddy on a place for lunch we agreed that a deli would be a good selection. To prove to me that it's legit. Dr. Browns cream soda must be sold along with the obligatory knishes and latkes. We ate quick and enjoy our conversation pastrami was cut thin, serves on Rye with spicy mustard. Unfortunately the day I brought a friend to reward him for lending me a hand he order the Ruben and the owner from NJ ( huge Met fan) looked at him and said we are out of sauerkraut. He was very disappointed and went with something else. I'd said that's like McDonald's saying they are out of burgers. It's basic. You gotta have that for Pete's sake. These guys have zero personality but they have great food. I recommend them all the time but only to appreciate Yankee food. So for the last thing these guys are located in Charlotte which is located in the formerly great state of North Carolina which has become little Atlanta or Detroit. I like them so much I decided to buy a gift card to pass along to a friend. Like I said the unfriendly owner is from New Jersey and is required to be unfriendly. I really am kidding because I don't care if you give me very good good at a reasonable price but when you don't know that North Carolina law does not allow for you to charge tax on a gift card you have gone over the line. Little NY Deli in the burbs. Gotta love it. It was busy. I'm glad I looked at the menus ahead of time. I still was awestruck and went basic. Got a plain bagel with scallion schmear and Turkey Provo on white. Bagel was phenom; bouncy, chewy, moist, and delicious. The sando pulled high with meat. No dinky sammich here.
