When we went last Friday the kitchen was running behind but with a live band playing and helpful staff we enjoyed our lengthy stay. Service is great, food is amazing and they have beer. I got the buffalo chicken burger. One of my favorite things to get when I go to places like this but most are disappointing. Either a frozen patty or a thing breast which is never good. Not here. Thick chicken breast, golden friend and sauce is great. Not to mention fries are hand cut. I came in here recently with some friends before attending a haunted trail nearby! I am not too familiar with downtown Monroe but this place was highly recommended and the reviews were good, so we decided to check it out. They have a nice little outdoor spot, but there was a bit of a wait and we were somewhat limited on time, so we opted to be seated sooner inside. That we were on a time crunch is unfortunate because the kitchen was pretty backed up, and we ended up having to wait a good bit for our food. To be fair, the manager did come and apologize to us and even comped a round of drinks for us. I've worked in a restaurant before and I know how a single call out can really throw off service, and I appreciated the manager's professionalism. For my food I opted to go with a pizza and unfortunately the pizza was a bit undercooked and soft and floppy in the middle, they may have been in a rush to get it out. Overall I think it was just an off night and I'm not gonna hold it against them, I certainly want to go in and give it another chance, this time hopefully grab a spot outside because it did look quite nice! read more

Our favorite is whatever steak is being offered, with a side salad (homemade ranch) and marinated beets. So good! For the kids the chicken tenders with homemade fries & a small cheese pizza are always a hit! Easy parking in city parking lot next door. Seated outside (my preference on this beautiful day) immediately. For those concerned about temp I could have been seated inside but opted not too. Great server quickly took my drink and food order after explaining the specials. I opted for the Carolina burger special and a guacamole and chips side with sweet tea. The guacamole was very good. The chips were mediocre. The sweet tea was too good as I over indulged. The burger was as ordered. I say that as I was not fond of the bbq sauce they used. To me it didn't accent the flavors. It was just there to make the bun soggy. A thicker sauce would have been preferable and maybe on the side if they are going to use that much. Burger was on me as I experimented and just didn't suit my taste. Good experience neat location and over all the food was good. read more

This is a decent spot. I visited on a weekday evening so not super-busy. I was seated on the terrace area which was easily accessible to the street. There was a large fan outdoors to maintain a comfortable breeze. Staff was polite overall and service was prompt. The server was slightly aloof and at one point disappeared for quite some time without bringing napkins that were requested (til the very end). However, her behavior did not seem intentional/directed towards me so it was easily dismissible. I opted for a vegan burger with fries, which was pretty good. My strawberry margarita was pretty weak. The service at Franklin Court Grille was incredible. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and will slyly slide in to turn on the lights under your umbrella (if you're dining outside) when it starts getting dark in the evening. On Friday evenings, there is live music as well. The menu is Latin-inspired and you can't go wrong starting with the chips and guac or fried yuca. I also love that they carry local wine - we bought a bottle of cab. I was pleasantly surprised by and happy with my fish and chips special. I had to get a to-go box because portions are huge. I stumbled in here when I got a traffic ticket in Union County and had to travel to Monroe to handle it. Well, the good news is that I found this place! The burger that I had there was really and truly one of the best that I've ever had! I mentioned that to the waitress and she just smiled and said "that's because it's a brisket burger!" What a great little find! The food was delish. My husband had the French onion chicken sandwich and the caramelized onions were ON POINT. No weak sautéing here. I had the fish and chips special and it was very good. The tartar sauce was unusual and definitely homemade. The real treat here is the little courtyard. I've been to this place numerous times. The food has never been a disappointment. This time around I chose something different. I'm more of a burger or wings kind of gal. I went ahead and ordered the nachos with the NC BBQ pulled pork. Although the flavor has never been an issue, I think the ratio of meat to chips was disappointing. But the again this is how a nacho plate is usually like. The service was fast and friendly and this place is always looking very clean. Recently visited Franklin Court Grille and had a great experience, despite their AC being out at the time. The inside is kinda small and it was ok at first but as the lunch rush came through it got a little crowded. We did begin outside but it was too hot so we decided to head inside where they had plenty of fans running to keep us cool. I had the Jalapeño Pimento Burger and it was very good. My only negative comments would be that the burger was a little small for the price ($13~) and the fried pickles on the burger seemed to be lacking in quantity. Now I know that inflation has a big role to play in the size and price of the burger but this burger seemed unusually smaller than most burgers lately. All together our time here was wonderful. We visited during lunch but I can only assume the patio area get fun at nights. The patio was huge and the vibe was spot on. read more
