My husband and I went to Ron's for lunch and ate there. My husband ordered the BBQ platter, with cole slaw and French fries. It came with two dinner rolls as well. The BBQ was delicious, and was well complemented by the sides. I had one of his rolls with the BBQ and slaw, and it was awesome! The fries were very tasty as well. I ordered the fried flounder, which was two generous pieces, with hush puppies. The sides I picked were pinto beans and collard greens. With salt added to the pintos and vinegar to the collards, they were perfect! The flounder was delicious. I didn't taste the hush puppies yet because I got too full and had to get a takeout box! The counter and grill ladies were very pleasant and our order was done right! For great food, nice folks, and a clean, well-appointed (and very popular) restaurant, this is your place! Ron's in the closest restaurant to the plant we were visiting so decided to try it out. We enjoyed it. For the size, Ron's has a full menu. We decided to try the "Duke" burger, Carolina all the way. The fried bologna was a nice add to that. Really tasty. We all can't wait to get back to try the "chuck wagon"! read more

This place has great food, try there bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and for lunch there double cheeseburger.

Ron's is definitely a dive 100% no frills. They have a 2.99 breakfast special eggs, meat, hash browns, buciut which is a great price. I got the western omelet it was good the grits were a little too watery for me. I haven't had anything else other than breakfast so I can't review them, but I hear The burgers are amazing. This is the perfect example of not judging a book by it's cover! Ron's doesn't look like much from the outside and, honestly, it's not fancy on the inside either, but it's good...very good, in fact. The prices are unbelievably affordable, the service is super friendly, and the restaurant is clean. Everything is cooked to order so it's served hot and fresh. We loved going here because I believe in supporting small businesses but today was the last time. I found a long black hair under my eggs, and me and my boyfriends both have very light hair. There's not many places left where you can stop in and get a freshly cooked breakfast for under 3 bucks. This is a little breakfast and lunch joint in monroe. It's pretty convenient if you want a fresh, hot, cheap meal. The service is excellent and food is always good for the price. Only thing lacking is the environment there. The tables and chairs and whole look of the diner is not very appealing at all. If I didn't know the food was good I wouldn't eat there based on appearance. That being said, to get eggs, hash brown, bacon and toast for $2.85, it's hard to beat. Definitely recommend for a quick breakfast, but you wouldn't want to bring a business lunch to this place. I would definitely recommend though. read more

People were nice but this place is so dirty. Even the blinds are dirty. I couldn't eat my food.

First off their breakfast special is now $2.95 (it was $2.85). Great place to have an honest American breakfast with the family. Eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast what a great way to start the day. Yes you can go to Cafe Monte or Zebras for a high end breakfast with a price to match, but leave your S Class Mercedes in the garage and head out to Monroe in your pickup truck and treat yourself to an all American breakfast like the ones you remember having as a kid. The staff are all hard working and friendly so be generous when you feed the tip jar. And no I have no relationship to anyone who works there. read more

Traveling to Monroe on business and was driving by Ron's. Decided to stop in for breakfast. Order 2 eggs, toast, bacon and (the best grits ever) grits and they rang it up. With tax $3,24, Are you kidding, how can you make money at that price for great food. Well, I found out. There was a constant stream of people coming in while I was there and I went back each morning. Tried some different things too Liver mush was tasty, Pork Chop sandwich, Just great sourthern food at really great prices and the staff is great too. At these prices leave a big tip. read more
