Waiting 15+ minutes for a manager every visit when there's zero (and I mean 0) customers is ridiculous and quite honestly, not respectful of my time. Throughout a few different interviews, all at different times (11, 2, 4ish) and different days; the business stays basically empty. Even during a Friday night rush, I'd barely call it a "busy night." I was also informed I had to start a specific day due to (specifically told from the manager) certain employees wouldn't train me the correct way. That's extremely unprofessional. All of your employees should be properly trained to conduct their jobs correctly and not give off incorrect information to new hires. With all this (and more) in mind, I ended up not returning to work here. I can imagine the business stays empty for various other reasons, but I recommend just going to any better location or even a different wing place. (For work and for food)

I stood there for several minutes before going back up to remind her that my order was #65. Instead of communicating with me, she just pointed at the box. There was no courtesy, no effort, and her attitude came across as very dismissive. On top of that, I ordered 30 wings and was only given three ranch dressings. When I asked for more, she flatly said "yes" without explaining, and only after I insisted that I was willing to pay for extras did she finally add them. The way she handled it made the whole interaction uncomfortable and frustrating. On a positive note, the older lady working at the register was very kind and professional--she had a great attitude and treated me with respect. Honestly, that's how customer service should be. Overall, the food is solid, but the experience with the younger employee at the counter left a lot to be desired. Some proper customer service training would go a long way in making sure guests feel welcome and valued.

When I got home, I noticed there was a foreign object in my food that absolutely should not have been there. I wasn't able to call Saturday because it was too late, and I had to work all day Sunday. I called Monday to report the issue and give the restaurant an opportunity to address it. I spoke with the general manager, Tan, and his response was extremely disappointing. He was very defensive, aggressive, and downright rude. Instead of listening to my concern, he questioned me by saying, "Why are you just now calling me?" and "Why are you calling me out of the blue?" The fact remains that regardless of when I called, there was a foreign object in my food that should not have been there. The timing of my call does not change what happened or make the issue any less concerning. I called when I was able to, and I should have been able to report my experience without being treated disrespectfully. I was calmly explaining what happened, yet he repeatedly told me to "calm down," as if I were the one being aggressive or unreasonable. I was not calling to argue or cause a problem. I was simply trying to make the restaurant aware of a serious issue with my order. What made the situation even worse was the attitude I received from management. Rather than taking the complaint seriously and addressing the food-safety concern, I felt like I was being treated as though I had done something wrong by calling. I did not ask for the foreign object or the additional ingredient that was found in my food, and it should not have been there in the first place. After this experience, I will not be spending my money at this restaurant again. I am also considering contacting the local health department regarding what I found in my food because this is a concern that should be taken seriously. Customers should be able to report legitimate concerns without being met with defensiveness, aggression, or disrespect. The facts remain the same regardless of when I called: there was something in my food that should not have been there, and the way management handled my complaint was completely unacceptable.

I went through the drive-thru around 4:30 p.m. and ordered the 5 piece Slim's Meal. The parking lot was nearly empty, and there was no one ahead of me. My food was handed to me almost immediately, but when I got home less than five minutes later, the fries were cold and the chicken tenders were hard, chewy, and not even lukewarm. Their tenders are usually fresh, hot, and crispy. This meal tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The service was disappointing, too. There was no greeting. Just a smug,"can I get your name?" I could barely hear the employee as she was taking my order. After ordering, I drove around to the window. Still...no greeting or even a smile. Like her goal was to put forth as little effort as possible. My cold fries were warmer than the welcome... I understand that everyone has an off day, but this isn't the first time I've received less than exceptional customer service at Slim Chickens. On one recent occasion, my husband and I walked in and waited at the register while an employee who had seen us come in continued wiping tables. I do appreciate the fact that she was cleaning, but she was in no hurry to take our order. When she eventually came over, WE were the ones who greeted her. The least she could have said is,"welcome in." This hasn't been my experience with every employee, but it has happened often enough that I've noticed a pattern. Customers shouldn't feel like an inconvenience. I'd love to see more attention paid to both the food being served and the way customers are greeted, because I know Slim Chickens can do better. I hope management puts more emphasis on training their staff on friendly, attentive service. I'm not asking anyone to be cheerful every second of a shift, but a greeting and the sense that customers are welcome should be a basic standard. Your employees are the face of the restaurant and often a customer's first impression. How they're trained and treated matters, and it shows in the experience they give customers.

While I was waiting for my food, only three people came in for takeout. I arrived home and started diving into the food. The collard greens were bland and obviously out of a can. I had to doctor them up with some seasonings and vinegar. The supposed to be "chicken wings" (wing dings) wasn't seasoned like I'm used to chicken being seasoned. It was too bland. The hush puppies were disgusting, but the french fries were good. The fried whiting was, to my surprise, flavorful. I enjoyed that. The fried shrimp was savory as well, and I enjoyed that.
