I usually enjoy Slim Chickens food and have even left a positive review in the past, so today's visit was especially disappointing. I went through the drive-thru around 4:30 p.m. and ordered the 5 piece Slim's Meal. The parking lot was nearly empty, and there was no one ahead of me. My food was handed to me almost immediately, but when I got home less than five minutes later, the fries were cold and the chicken tenders were hard, chewy, and not even lukewarm. Their tenders are usually fresh, hot, and crispy. This meal tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The service was disappointing, too. There was no greeting. Just a smug,"can I get your name?" I could barely hear the employee as she was taking my order. After ordering, I drove around to the window. Still...no greeting or even a smile. Like her goal was to put forth as little effort as possible. My cold fries were warmer than the welcome... I understand that everyone has an off day, but this isn't the first time I've received less than exceptional customer service at Slim Chickens. On one recent occasion, my husband and I walked in and waited at the register while an employee who had seen us come in continued wiping tables. I do appreciate the fact that she was cleaning, but she was in no hurry to take our order. When she eventually came over, WE were the ones who greeted her. The least she could have said is,"welcome in." This hasn't been my experience with every employee, but it has happened often enough that I've noticed a pattern. Customers shouldn't feel like an inconvenience. I'd love to see more attention paid to both the food being served and the way customers are greeted, because I know Slim Chickens can do better. I hope management puts more emphasis on training their staff on friendly, attentive service. I'm not asking anyone to be cheerful every second of a shift, but a greeting and the sense that customers are welcome should be a basic standard. Your employees are the face of the restaurant and often a customer's first impression. How they're trained and treated matters, and it shows in the experience they give customers. read more

We have dined here several times for lunch since opening. Overall, the food was prepared as expected and wait times were minimal. Since they are in such close proximity to Sun Valley high school, too often teens gather to hang out with each other and with friends who are employed there. Some might not care. We do. Unfortunately, at times, we find it disrespectful and annoying. There's plenty of other options to eat. read more

I have been to several Slim Chickens across the country and have never been treated rudely or acting like I was a bother. Today at the Slim Chickens in Monroe, North Carolina, I was treated rudely and as if I was a bother that I had to order food from the young lady. I ordered $30 worth of food. I ordered two desserts and she just handed them to me. I had to ask her for a bag and then she just handed me the bag without even putting the things in the bag herself. She's the girl that wears glasses. There needs to someone older watching and coaching them on good customer service and etiquette. read more

First time here and wasn't to bad. Heard about the place from someone and decided since in the area try them out. Wanted chicken tenders and wings so happy they had an option with both. Order the wings with Korean BBQ sauce. Should had them fried hard because they tasted a little undone. Really liked the dipping sauce, ranch and cayenne pepper ranch. The service was good and treated me well while dining in. Oh and the raspberry tea is a must have also. Nice venue with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. First time trying this today. Chicken was really good and crispy but the fries could have been better. I think if I got another sauce (sweet red chili) it would have made it better. Update. Management responded but didn't address any issues or offer a reason why this location is so bad now other than say they have let the new manager know. She also didn't respond with an answer to why quality and service have fallen either. Food has gone down hill. The chicken they use for their sandwich is disgusting. Too hard too even chew. I left over half of it. No breading either, what happened. The chicken strips are very good,tiny but still good with a decent amount of breading. The fries were cold and that was very disappointing because when they are fresh and hot they are great. Ordering was also an issue as if you want to sub the sauce that's on sandwich for a different sauce they have you order it without sauce then charge .39 for the different sauce. Not sure what has happened as this used to be an amazing location now it's a total mess. read more

Nothing about this visit was right. I gave it 2 stars because the staff was so sweet. Order was wrong. I received tenders instead of regular original wings. The Chicken sandwich was bland, cold and very greasy. I'm posting a picture of the plate the chicken was on when I took it off the bun to heat it when I got home. I'm assuming the chicken didn't taste good because it was full of oil. The chicken strips were ok but not great. I spent $20 just to eat a few fries. Absolutely fantastic - food and service were both top notch! My husband and I stopped for a late lunch and have found a new favorite spot. He had the buffalo tender mac bowl and loved it and he is super critical about food. I had the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich and it was fantastic (their pickles are so good). The manager checked in to make sure everything was to our liking and which is absolutely above and beyond any service you get in a comparable restaurant. Not sure why they went with two drive through lanes if they only ever intended to answer one at a time. The food is alright, but you could be the only car in line and it's gonna take 20+ minutes. They are so beyond slow it's ridiculous. And their milkshake machine is broken constantly, or so they claim, that could be something they say because they can't handle the volume of like 3-4 cars in line. Also why do the fried mushrooms come with sauce, the friend pickles come with sauce, but the fried okra doesn't and they charge you more for it?
