Listen, the burnt ends were moist, flavorful, and even though I was stuffed I just had to finish it. The beans were nice and sweet. The cornbread buttery. And of course I had to get my fried okra, my favorite southern food. They didn't skimp out on portions. The restaurant was ambient and the servers on standby whenever we needed anything. The wrap was filled with the chicken salad. It was nicely seasoned and tasted really good. My husband and daughter both did the Pick Your Burger, a build your own. My husband had the burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and pepper jack cheese. My daughter added bacon, lettuce, grilled onions and provolone cheese. A simple glass of water is a basic customer courtesy, especially for children, seniors, and people with medical needs. If water is no longer provided, what's NEXT --charging customers to use the RESTROOM? Community values should be reflected not only through fundraisers and public events, but also in how every customer is treated at the table. I sincerely hope Mac's reconsiders this policy. I would say the fare was about what I would expect. Nothing outstanding but a good meal at a fair price. I would say this about as status quo as status quo can get for a traditional meat and 2 sides kind of place. For the money, taste and atmosphere, Smoke Pit blows this place out of the water except they are not open Mondays. Any day but Monday, Mac's will fill the void.
