First of all the food here is good, but not good enough to cover the short coming for service at the restaurant. The Fort Mill Biscuit Bake was great in taste. We came on a Saturday brunch time, it was busy, I saw that they have table available, but the host suggested to sit in the bar as she said the service will be faster, then we tied to sit down there aren't any two seats available together then she gave us a table. Once we seated, we didn't have any one come to us, we have to ask where is our waitress? The waitress that came for our service, we realize that the waitress was someone passed by us couple of times already, she didn't greet us or anything. But once she greeted us, it was ok service. It must be someone from management didn't let her know about the table or they are under staff. Another thing I noticed is that while we are eating, the table was not reset properly, it was missing silverware and the customers have to ask for it after their food came out. As a big group that owes many restaurants, they didn't seem to care to reply any reviews on here. Also the staff at the restaurant is not bad, just seems to have issues with communication. Of the many locations I have been a DoorDash delivery driver for, this has been one I have been looking forward to actually coming as a customer to enjoy the food and location for myself. They did not disappoint. I went on a Wednesday morning after a doctor's appointment, which I had to fast for so I was really hungry and thirsty. The outstanding servers at Flipside quickly remedied both of those! Being that it was late morning in the middle of the week seating was quick and easy. I've been there on the weekends though picking up for DoorDash when the line has been out the door so please plan accordingly. But if the rest of their items are as good as what I had I now know why there is a line. My server was quickly to my table moments after I sat and was ready to get me a drink. I choose a simple soda but as they have a full bar there are so many choices! But even the simple soda delighted me as it was brought in a cute glass shaped like a soda can with the restaurant's name on it. I'm not sure if they sell them but I would have been a buyer today. Having delivered this dish to many times to count I knew what I was getting before I entered. The chicken and waffles will always be my go to order at any place that offers it so it was a no brainer. I added a side of sausage links, I like sausage with my breakfast and I wanted something else to rate. :) As I was thirsty I sucked down that first drink very fast and was happy when a server swooped by and filled it up for me and took the paper wrapper from the straw with her to clear the table. In hardly no time at all my order was delivered to my table. I was also asked if i wanted butter for my waffle, um yes please! My dish - the waffle was quite large and thick. It had a great crust to the outside but the inside was warm and fluffy. After the butter I poured the syrup over the waffle. It held up in the little waffle cups never really absorbed by the waffle and therefore it never got soggy. I got four decent sized chicken tenders, one for each quadrant of the waffle. At least, that's how my brain sized it up. The tenders were seasoned and coated well and would be a tasty snack on their own. Cut and stacked with bits of waffle made the ultimate bite! The sausage links were just as delicious! They were hot and the outer casing had a nice snap to them when you bit into them. It was the perfect compliment to the chicken and waffles. Overall my meal was amazing. The service was exemplary. Haven't been to the Flipside for breakfast in quite a while and had to drop my son off near by for a team breakfast with his soccer team. I sat at the corner of the bar so I can watch the PL Liverpool match while I eat my breakfast. Jerry was the server/bar tender and was hopping the entire I was seated take care of everyone at a busy bar. I settled on the pulled pork hash with eggs OE and a biscuit with gravy on the side. Jerry provided me BBQ sauce for an enhanced to the meal also. The potatoes were cooked through seasoned and crispy on the outside. At 9:30 when I sat down the alcohol serving countdown started complete with a mimosa prep station ready to go at 10am. Great breakfast to start my day in a welcoming and friend atmosphere. We ordered takeout from the Flipside Café for dinner. We were going to try and order online, but they did not have everything listed on the menu available on online ordering. We tried calling and kept getting a busy signal. Luckily, on what we decided would be our last time trying, we got through. This frustration could have been prevented if they had everything available online to order. What we got: *Crispy Crab Cakes - Ironically, this is what was not listed online for ordering, and was our biggest disappointment. Maybe it was a sign that we should have not ordered them, but they were definitely crispy and that is the flavor you detected - the crispy outside crust, not any crab. As a huge crab cake fan, I would not come close to recommending these. *Lockport NY Beef on Weck - I have not had one of these since I went to NY years ago, but this was SO good and full of flavor. *Springer Mountain Chicken 'N' Dumplings - This is not your traditional chicken and dumplings as it has a lot of veggies with gnocchi. It's almost like a chicken pot pie meets chicken and dumplings combo - a hearty and flavorful winter comfort food. I loved their take on it! *Side of Mac and Cheese - mac and cheese is my favorite side. This version is one of my favorites - it is very cheesy and creamy. It had the perfect consistency with the right amount of cheese flavor. LOVED it! Overall, we loved our first experience with the Flipside Café. We look forward to going back to trying more of their menu. I haven't experienced this before, but for the first time I won't be coming back to a resturant because I felt so uncomfortable... When we first entered, the staff was SO nice. The waitress at the front was so nice and helpful, and although the place was packed and we had to wait 40 minutes, she kept checking if there were avaible places for us. I wished I remembered her name cause she was amazing. We sat at the bar, and the person attending to people said hi to EVERYONE and welcomed everyone except for my friend and I. After a while of no one attending to us, cause it was our first time going to this place, I asked for a menu and I was met with a rude response. We were shocked, and I honestly felt so uncomfortable even asking for water, we ordered our food, and the person was once again so rude to us. They were nice towards the end cause I think they felt obligated and could tell we were uncomfy and not happy with the service we were receiving, but not acceptable. Sucks cause the food was amazing. We went to flipside cafe after church today around 12 and upon coming inside, it was a 30 minute wait for 4 of us. We sat in the car while waiting. The time passed by quick and they gave us a call that our table was ready ! After looking over the menu, we end up choosing chicken and waffles, the lobster omelette, and for the kids a breakfast plate and the other was pancakes and fruit. As you can see from the photos, the kids portion size was actually really big in my opinion. I love that their menu had a variety of items and not as traditional as every other breakfast place. I'm a fan of this local family of restaurants. I love the foods at Flipside Restaurant in Rock Hill, as well as Salmeri's in Fort Mill...so I figured I'd love this too. I normally don't order burgers at restaurants, but at the suggestion of the waitress, I decided to give the Flipside Burger a try...and I love how you can choose Brussels Sprouts (my fave veggie!) as one of the sides here! Well...as anticipated, their burger, with the unique Pimento Cheese accent, and their brussels sprouts were DEE-Lish! The place itself is a tad more casual than the Rock Hill location...but the biggest difference (to me) was this country vibe, with their amped up overhead music...this super-loud, super-rowdy hillbilly rock...live version at that! NOT a fan of this. Luckily, the foods were good enough to excuse the migraine-inducing music...as least for this first time around. BTW, the service was really good too. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Probably the best breakfast spot I've ever been to and quite the hidden gem. Was visiting Carowinds and sought out a breakfast spot that was close to the park. Seated immediately on a Tuesday morning (and ended up going back Wednesday because it was THAT GOOD). The Flipside Breakfast is to die for - everything in it is perfect. Eggs were seasoned nicely, bacon was thick and crispy, biscuit & gravy were insanely perfect and the cheesy grits were mouth watering. SO MUCH FLAVOR and so much food for $11!!! I need to go back here to try their dinner menu items next time I am in the area. Everything they offer is unique and really tastes homemade. Cannot stress enough how fabulous this place was!
