Of the many locations I have been a DoorDash delivery driver for, this has been one I have been looking forward to actually coming as a customer to enjoy the food and location for myself. They did not disappoint. I went on a Wednesday morning after a doctor's appointment, which I had to fast for so I was really hungry and thirsty. The outstanding servers at Flipside quickly remedied both of those! Being that it was late morning in the middle of the week seating was quick and easy. I've been there on the weekends though picking up for DoorDash when the line has been out the door so please plan accordingly. But if the rest of their items are as good as what I had I now know why there is a line. My server was quickly to my table moments after I sat and was ready to get me a drink. I choose a simple soda but as they have a full bar there are so many choices! But even the simple soda delighted me as it was brought in a cute glass shaped like a soda can with the restaurant's name on it. I'm not sure if they sell them but I would have been a buyer today. Having delivered this dish to many times to count I knew what I was getting before I entered. The chicken and waffles will always be my go to order at any place that offers it so it was a no brainer. I added a side of sausage links, I like sausage with my breakfast and I wanted something else to rate. :) As I was thirsty I sucked down that first drink very fast and was happy when a server swooped by and filled it up for me and took the paper wrapper from the straw with her to clear the table. In hardly no time at all my order was delivered to my table. I was also asked if i wanted butter for my waffle, um yes please! My dish - the waffle was quite large and thick. It had a great crust to the outside but the inside was warm and fluffy. After the butter I poured the syrup over the waffle. It held up in the little waffle cups never really absorbed by the waffle and therefore it never got soggy. I got four decent sized chicken tenders, one for each quadrant of the waffle. At least, that's how my brain sized it up. The tenders were seasoned and coated well and would be a tasty snack on their own. Cut and stacked with bits of waffle made the ultimate bite! The sausage links were just as delicious! They were hot and the outer casing had a nice snap to them when you bit into them. It was the perfect compliment to the chicken and waffles. Overall my meal was amazing. The service was exemplary. The place is very cheerful and friendly. Just typing up this review made me crave another order of chicken and waffles. If you haven't yet been there then I highly suggest you get over there soon! I know I will be back soon! read more

First of all the food here is good, but not good enough to cover the short coming for service at the restaurant. The Fort Mill Biscuit Bake was great in taste. We came on a Saturday brunch time, it was busy, I saw that they have table available, but the host suggested to sit in the bar as she said the service will be faster, then we tied to sit down there aren't any two seats available together then she gave us a table. Once we seated, we didn't have any one come to us, we have to ask where is our waitress? The waitress that came for our service, we realize that the waitress was someone passed by us couple of times already, she didn't greet us or anything. But once she greeted us, it was ok service. It must be someone from management didn't let her know about the table or they are under staff. Another thing I noticed is that while we are eating, the table was not reset properly, it was missing silverware and the customers have to ask for it after their food came out. As a big group that owes many restaurants, they didn't seem to care to reply any reviews on here. Also the staff at the restaurant is not bad, just seems to have issues with communication. We ordered takeout from the Flipside Café for dinner. We were going to try and order online, but they did not have everything listed on the menu available on online ordering. We tried calling and kept getting a busy signal. Luckily, on what we decided would be our last time trying, we got through. This frustration could have been prevented if they had everything available online to order. What we got: *Crispy Crab Cakes - Ironically, this is what was not listed online for ordering, and was our biggest disappointment. Maybe it was a sign that we should have not ordered them, but they were definitely crispy and that is the flavor you detected - the crispy outside crust, not any crab. As a huge crab cake fan, I would not come close to recommending these. *Lockport NY Beef on Weck - I have not had one of these since I went to NY years ago, but this was SO good and full of flavor. *Springer Mountain Chicken 'N' Dumplings - This is not your traditional chicken and dumplings as it has a lot of veggies with gnocchi. It's almost like a chicken pot pie meets chicken and dumplings combo - a hearty and flavorful winter comfort food. I loved their take on it! *Side of Mac and Cheese - mac and cheese is my favorite side. This version is one of my favorites - it is very cheesy and creamy. It had the perfect consistency with the right amount of cheese flavor. LOVED it! Overall, we loved our first experience with the Flipside Café. We look forward to going back to trying more of their menu. The only potential negative is they change up their menu seasonally, so something we loved (chicken n dumplings) is currently not on their menu, but we hope it comes back this winter! read more

Flipside Café has officially earned a spot in my rotation. I've been four times recently after a friend insisted I try it, and now I get the hype. The food is incredible--fresh veggies, flavorful dishes, and ingredients that taste like someone in the kitchen actually cares.Service is consistently excellent, even when they're slammed (and trust me, they're always busy).Pro tip: parties of 3+ should call ahead. Was in Fort Mill for work and joined the team for dinner. Flipside was a charming little eatery that came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Love this place everything we go. The presence of well trained culinary artists in the menu's design cannot be understated. This little hole in the wall cafe punches well above its weight class. Haven't been to the Flipside for breakfast in quite a while and had to drop my son off near by for a team breakfast with his soccer team. I sat at the corner of the bar so I can watch the PL Liverpool match while I eat my breakfast. Jerry was the server/bar tender and was hopping the entire I was seated take care of everyone at a busy bar. I settled on the pulled pork hash with eggs OE and a biscuit with gravy on the side. Jerry provided me BBQ sauce for an enhanced to the meal also. The potatoes were cooked through seasoned and crispy on the outside. At 9:30 when I sat down the alcohol serving countdown started complete with a mimosa prep station ready to go at 10am. Great breakfast to start my day in a welcoming and friend atmosphere. I haven't experienced this before, but for the first time I won't be coming back to a resturant because I felt so uncomfortable... When we first entered, the staff was SO nice. The waitress at the front was so nice and helpful, and although the place was packed and we had to wait 40 minutes, she kept checking if there were avaible places for us. I wished I remembered her name cause she was amazing. We sat at the bar, and the person attending to people said hi to EVERYONE and welcomed everyone except for my friend and I. After a while of no one attending to us, cause it was our first time going to this place, I asked for a menu and I was met with a rude response. We were shocked, and I honestly felt so uncomfortable even asking for water, we ordered our food, and the person was once again so rude to us. They were nice towards the end cause I think they felt obligated and could tell we were uncomfy and not happy with the service we were receiving, but not acceptable. Sucks cause the food was amazing. We went to flipside cafe after church today around 12 and upon coming inside, it was a 30 minute wait for 4 of us. We sat in the car while waiting. The time passed by quick and they gave us a call that our table was ready ! After looking over the menu, we end up choosing chicken and waffles, the lobster omelette, and for the kids a breakfast plate and the other was pancakes and fruit. As you can see from the photos, the kids portion size was actually really big in my opinion. I love that their menu had a variety of items and not as traditional as every other breakfast place. There's a few other items I want to try in the future. I liked this spot and there was a bar on one side and there other area was more causal. It's small and intimate cafe vibes. The bar side lighting has cozier and more dim lighting. Our service person was very attentive and the food came out super fast. I don't even think we were waiting no more than 10 minutes ! read more

Decided to join a friend here today for brunch! This is my second time eating here, and I have to say that the food and service are both pretty consistent! I went with the shrimp and grits!! Mouth watering and every bite is truly filled with flavor! They do the shrimp and andouille sausage right! The sauce was so good that I asked for a side of it to add more! My friend got the salmon sandwich and fries and she said it was really good. If you're in the area and want a nice dish from a cute local restaurant, I'd say definitely give the a try. They don't serve breakfast all day but they made me an omelet. I thought all the food was average and I would try something else. The fries were good. The butternut squash soup was odd with a balsamic vinegar dressing drizzled on it. I had the lobster omelet and while it was real lobster, the flavor combination with cheddar cheese was not amazing. Tucked in a business plaza, great food! We stopped for lunch a on road trip. Our server greeted us right away. I was able to obtain a separate gluten free menu. Ordered their blackened shrimp and grits and it was delicious . They added roasted tomatoes and spinach which were so yummy. My husband had the fried green tomato blt and a gorgeous fruit cup. Went here for dinner in august. Love the summer menu, I'm assuming it changes. 4 people got cocktails that were great. Homemade biscuits were wonderful. Beef in weck, steak, and meatloaf, all sides were great. Shrimp risotto wasn't what I expected, lot of toppings with flavor, but the risotto it's def was just okay. Bread pudding great. I'm a fan of this local family of restaurants. I love the foods at Flipside Restaurant in Rock Hill, as well as Salmeri's in Fort Mill...so I figured I'd love this too. I normally don't order burgers at restaurants, but at the suggestion of the waitress, I decided to give the Flipside Burger a try...and I love how you can choose Brussels Sprouts (my fave veggie!) as one of the sides here! Well...as anticipated, their burger, with the unique Pimento Cheese accent, and their brussels sprouts were DEE-Lish! The place itself is a tad more casual than the Rock Hill location...but the biggest difference (to me) was this country vibe, with their amped up overhead music...this super-loud, super-rowdy hillbilly rock...live version at that! NOT a fan of this. Luckily, the foods were good enough to excuse the migraine-inducing music...as least for this first time around. BTW, the service was really good too. I learned recently that this family of restaurants have yet another baby, FM Eatery in Fort Mill...but I think it's open only for dinner. Need to try that pronto! read more

Nice around the way neighborhood place but the chorizo hash to me seemed like it needed a lot of work to taste good. Chorizo was very crumbly and potatoes were on the burnt side. We were sat in a walkway next to a trashcan and bathroom which was uncomfortable, but the place was packed for brunch, so I appreciate the staff trying to fit in another table at least. read more

This place deserves more than 5 stars. Probably the best breakfast spot I've ever been to and quite the hidden gem. Was visiting Carowinds and sought out a breakfast spot that was close to the park. Seated immediately on a Tuesday morning (and ended up going back Wednesday because it was THAT GOOD). The Flipside Breakfast is to die for - everything in it is perfect. Eggs were seasoned nicely, bacon was thick and crispy, biscuit & gravy were insanely perfect and the cheesy grits were mouth watering. SO MUCH FLAVOR and so much food for $11!!! I need to go back here to try their dinner menu items next time I am in the area. Everything they offer is unique and really tastes homemade. Cannot stress enough how fabulous this place was! I'm really confused as to how this place has so many positive reviews. Let me start with the pros. Parking was easy. There's a huge parking lot with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and the place was very comfortable. This place gets crazy busy so go out your name on the list and sit in your car. No reservations. I ended up finding seats at the bar. I ordered mimosa flight and chicken and waffles. The mimosas were great. No complaints. The waffle was amazing for a waffle. Unfortunately the chicken was over cooked and very dry. Don't want to speak to how it was seasoned because it was too dry to get a good feel for taste. Again, the people there are super friendly and the food came out fast. I'm hoping this was a one time bad mean given how many positive reviews this play gets. Will I go back? Yea, I'm going to give it another shot. All of those great reviews can't be wrong. read more

I have no complaints about this place. I came here bc I read views about a lobster omlet that I wanted to try. I arrived around 11:20-ish and was told they stop cooking breakfast items after 11am. I was kinda bummed about that because I don't live in the area and it will be highly unlike that I will arrive back anytime soon before 11am. So just an FYI, if you want breakfast items here, go before 11am. Service wise, our lady was extremely polite and sweet. I wanted to tip her more than I left, but had no idea that they charged $3.25 for a kids soda. After paying for my $16.00 meal, an $7.85 kid burger plate, kids soda, a couple cents for a card up charge and taxes, my meal came up to $30.00. For me, this was Out of my budget for a lunch, but it was very flavorful. Just weird that i had to pay for a kids drink outside of a kids meal, and the kid didn't even drink all the soda. If you are a parent, im sure you understand my pain, lol! Anyway, give this place a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. It's a small space so it would not be ideal (for me) for large parties. Very intimate space like a date or meet up with a friend or a solo treat. It's in a plaza so plenty of parking. read more
