Chick 'N Ditch the Waffle
Gary E.

So my mother absolutely loves this place and has been harassing me for months to join them for breakfast. So last week I joined them. So when you first go in you stand in line with a bunch of menus available so you can look it over while you wait. Also, as you near the cash registers there is a window that allows you to see them making the dough and cutting the biscuits. I allowed my parents to place their order as I was gonna order separate. After placing my order I didn't get a number to take to our table like my parents. I was told it was put under my parents number. ok whatever. So there is a pretty good amount of benches and chairs in store and there is a covered outside area to sit as well. By the time we made our own drinks and took our seats it wasn't long before my parents food came out. I ordered my food after so I wasn't too worried that mine didn't come out with theirs but I was watching the kitchen door and I saw the runner with my order looking around for a number I wasn't given. As she approached I told her it was mine and she just gave it to me. Glad I'm honest or anyone probably could have gotten my breakfast. So I ordered the pancake corndog with a maple mayo sauce? I hate mayo so regular syrup would have been better for me. The sausage on a stick wrapped in pancake batter was very good, especially when dipped in regular maple syrup. I'm not sure I was getting "corn" in the pancake but maybe it was more in name only. Either way it was very tasty. My main breakfast item was the Chicken N Ditch the Waffle. So basically a nice piece of fried chicken and a biscuit but with a twist as the biscuit was "French Toasted". I felt that the biscuit was dense and even though it was "French Toasted" I wasn't getting a lot of that flavor coming thru. I think I would have preferred the waffle. Overall the food was good. It came out hot and quickly. Will I be back, probably not because for me the price was a bit high. The $10 for the pancakes and sausage wasn't bad but the $15 for what was basically a chicken biscuit? No thanks. Please check them out for yourself because they have lots of variations to try and like my mom, this might be your new favorite breakfast place!

Biscuit Belly, Fort Mill

What's not to love about this fast casual place that is focused around great biscuit sandwiches? A bit of a challenge for me on a keto diet but they do an amazing omelet. Mrs. K. chose the Frenchie's which was a French-toast styled biscuit topped with fruit and sugar and whipped cream. I thought it looked great, she really enjoyed it. The inside-out "T-Bird" omelet was delicious. Shredded turkey, cheddar, onions, roasted tomatoes and a spicy poblano sauce with a sliced avocado. Delicious! And Mrs. K. enjoyed my home fries. Clean, brightly lit, great service. I would eat at Biscuit Belly again. [Review 732 of 2025 - 1296 in South Carolina - 24292 overall]

We love Biscuit Belly. The food is seriously so good and takeout always is fresh and the coffee is flavorful just high quality food and drinks. Dined there this weekend... excellent customer service, friendly staff, brightly lit restaurant. A perfect day to sit outside too and ample seating. 1000% will be back!

My favorite brunch spot since moving to CLT, I have taken everyone here! Finally decided to write a review since I am here so often, the food is absolutely delicious. The staff are always so kind and I love to watch the biscuits being made.

Hashbrowns

This place was fantastic! The hash brown appetizer was by far the best thing. It was delicious and exceeded all expectations. Then the bonnet holes were also great. Both things that you dip it in were delicious. The biscuits and gravy was also great, but was a little cold when it came out. One biscuit was enough for my friend and I so we split the one that comes with two. The only item we didn't love was the avocado toast. I don't know if it's bad avocado toast it just did not compare to anything else we got. When you go here you kind of go to a counter and then go to your table and put a number on your table and they bring the food out to you.

It was my birthday We had a pineapple mimosa and a lavender mimosa. So yummy !!
Dawn R.

Came here at noon on Wednesday. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy ($10) with a lavender mimosa ($7). The biscuits were huge !!! They really do need to put more gravy on them to compensate. I'm guessing they don't split open the biscuits to keep them warmer. But if they would split them, the gravy to biscuit ratio would be much better. However, folks come check on you at the table and when they did, they noticed my biscuit was dry and needed gravy so they offered to bring more to the table, which was nice. The lavender mimosa was very good and so pretty! We also got the bonuts and you MUST get these. They remind me of a funnel cake in a donut-hole form. They give you a cheesecake cream cheese icing-type of dipping sauce and a strawberry jam sauce. Both were delicious. All I can say is that it is a good thing I don't live nearby, because I would be racking up pounds eating such wonderful hardy food on the regular ! The restaurant is very clean and bright... very breakfast diner-like. The plants in the restaurant are real ! The staff was very nice and chatty. We'll definitely be back !

How they turned a biscuit into a waffle baffles me! This spot is a must-try. I wasn't expecting it to be a counter service kinda spot but that did not take away from the experience. Have a look at the menu before heading in so you don't hold up the line. I had the chick 'n waffle and a strawberry mimosa, the large one. My husband had pancakes, bacon and fruit and he added scrambled eggs, washing it down with an old fashioned. Everything was amazing. I'm not sure what they seasoned my chicken thigh with or what was in that butter to make the flavors pop. I've never had a strawberry mimosa and have no idea what they used to flavor it with. It was super tasty. Hubby is an old fashioned snob so he wasn't overly impressed with his drink. We cannot wait to return and check out other locations.

Biscuit Biscuit is a fast casual restaurant for a Southern breakfast . The menu offers a variety of comfort foods. We placed our order at the counter and is was delivered to our table, Service was very good and everyone was very nice, including the manager who stopped by each table to check in ., I had the Love Shack- biscuit topped with brie, berries and pralines and drizzled with honey. The biscuits were light and fluffy. My husband had the T Bird- an omelette that is described as inside out. The food was prepared quickly, and was very good. This is a chain worth trying.

Stopped on a Thursday morning. The restaurant was half full. Yet it was very loud.. I notice the owner David was checking in everybody. And I asked if it's this loud but it's only half occupied. What it's like on the weekend when it's completely packed. He mentioned that it just how it is., As far as food. I got the Belly Plate: sausage, two eggs (over medium) and a biscuit. I like it. The biscuit tasted a little doughy but I like the crust: The sausage was very moist and thick.. The eggs were nicely done. I also had the bonuts with the jam which I like a lot. David and the many staffs were very attentive and helpful. Always made sure we had everything we need. And our plates were promptly taken away when we were done with it. A very big note: it's nice to see David the owner were among the staffs helping out. Not very often did you the owners among the staffs helping out.

Biscuit Belly is a medium sized restaurant, you place your order, find a seat and they bring the food to your table. The ambiance is pretty simple, nothing special. The food is pretty good but I didn't like the little piece of chicken with my biscuit French toast. The cheesy grits and home fried potatoes are seasoned and pretty tasty.

Great food, kind staff, fast service! The biscuit was huge and perfect with honey. Got the biscuit bowl plus eggs on top. Really good food!

Three for three in excellence at this breakfast/brunch spot. This was my third visit. My favorite is the bacon. They give you four nice pieces. My food came out at the same time I finished getting my self-serve coffee. My only advice to management is to notice seniors who may not want to get up for that second cup of coffee. If you provide a refill that would be awesome. This was a beautiful day and I love the windows and natural sunshade and lighting.

Brekkie Bowl with cheese grits
Heather H.

This was such a great brunch find! I met some girlfriends for brunch and it was so delicious! I didn't realize it was an order at the counter type of restaurant but it doesn't take away from the freshness and quality! I got the brekkie bowl and added an over easy egg. The goat cheese and spinach and caramelized onions went so great with the crispy potatoes. I also got a side of cheese grits. Be sure to get the Bonuts(Biscuit/Donuts) with the bourbon cream cheese frosting and housemade berry jam! We will definitely be back!

We settled on this place called Meto Pub which mom kept confusing with Metro dinner. Anyway, it was late afternoon so the place was fairly slow with people cause we were there before dinner time. He was very pleasant as he got us some drinks as we looked over this new to us menu. He also brought out some hushpuppies for free with butter and they were hot and yummy! We both actually chose to try their pulled pork but I got the fries and mom paid a little extra for the rings! While we waited for our food the nice man/owner came over and explained what all the BBQ sauces where on the table and brought over a ketchup bottle that was missing. Our food did not take long at all to arrive. The fries and rings were perfectly deep fried. Our buns were toasted to perfection. The pork tasted good and they heaped a good portion on the rolls. It ate a little dry but a few squirts of the BBQ sauce and it was all good! We also got a side of coleslaw with our meals and that was tasty as well. Overall the sandwiches were very tasty and you can't beat the price. The staff was very nice and checked on us to make sure we had a great experience. We liked this place and I'm gonna come back to try the brisket sandwich and burnt ends!

Everything about our experience at The Improper Pig was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, the decor and atmosphere stood out and hit all the marks, a few dust places but I'm assuming this place has been here awhile so let's call it that...but the attention to detail made the restaurant feel unique, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed in a warm way. The service was top-notch, with a friendly and attentive waitress she was more eager to fill our drinks than I was to drink lol but honestly she single handily was a beautiful train of productivity, the entire staff was, very impressed, that's a rare find these days and especially for the South. The manager, I imagine runs a tight ship...that helped make the experience even better. The biggest surprise was when my fried rice arrived at the table. The portion size was incredible for the price, mostly because and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with technique. I will say the brisket on the barbecue plate my husband ordered was incredibly dry, the plethora of flavors of barbecue sauce on the table couldn't help it either...I'm thinking they reheat the meat for the bbq plates throughout the day (which makes sense) but they maybe need to consider another reheating method or I'm curious when the bbq is freshly made...I'd love to come in that day. Either way I truly left almost completely speechless...what a gem. We will be back to ensure it wasn't a one off type of day. It's not often that you find a place where the atmosphere, service, value, and food all come together so well...with techniques going in the kitchen. Whew! When we asked about the delay, our server, Justice, apologized but explained that he had to make drinks for other tables, so we'd just have to wait. The restaurant was dead when we visited, yet we still sat there largely unnoticed for far too long. When a place is that empty and you're still being ignored for 90 minutes, that says a lot. The food didn't make the wait worth it. The pulled pork was fatty and unpleasant, and the barbecue sauce was bland and watery -- not what you want from a barbecue joint. To make matters worse, no additional sauces were offered even when we specifically asked. The sausage came out burnt. My son ordered lean brisket and got a plate that was essentially all fat. Another son tried to order ribs, only to be told they were out. The one bright spot was the brisket chili, which was genuinely excellent -- but one good dish can't carry an entire meal. The fries were fine, nothing more. The value doesn't add up either. A combo plate at $24 that doesn't even include brisket is honestly a little absurd for a barbecue restaurant. Bottom line: between the poorly prepared food, the missing menu items, the questionable pricing, and service that left us waiting nearly 90 minutes, we would not recommend Jim N' Nick's and won't be coming back.

The décor and vibe give the place a lot of personality, and it made for an enjoyable dinner date for me and my wife. Service was excellent during our visit. Our server was incredibly pleasant, attentive, and full of great suggestions. The beer selection was another highlight, with an extensive set of choices. The only small downside was my wife's wings. She wasn't thrilled with the sauce she chose, which was a bit of a letdown, but everything else we tried hit the mark. I had the 18xx Chicken Sandwich (minus the bun). Glad I went without the bun because that thing would have been a bit of a beast to try and eat as a sandwich. Overall, it's a great spot with a cool atmosphere, and an impressive beer lineup. I feel comfortable recommending though I'd likely try a steak or burger option. Update: Two more visits and I've tried two other entrees: the Ooey-Gooey Grilled Cheese Sandwich and the Spinach and Salmon Salad. I had the salad because I wasn't especially hungry on that visit. It was neither bad nor outstanding. The grilled cheese sandwich was, indeed, as advertised, both ooey and gooey and both in a good way. I'm still interested to try a burger on a future visit. On one of our visits, the kitchen team apparently used the tuna that was meant for my wife's Seared Ahi Tuna Salad for another meal which resulted in an additional 15-minute wait time for our food. Though disappointing, a member of the kitchen staff came to our table to explain that situation which was a professional courtesy move that was professional and respectable.
