Grits bowl with bacon, avocado, egg, mushroom

Yummy breakfast food including grits and quiche. They have a cute general store inside for various cooking needs.

The Ruben at Provisions is the best. What is the best? It is not greasy. So many places make a huge, greasy sandwich where the kraut overpowers the sandwich. I don't like 1000 Island so I get it without and add mustard. I would prefer brown mustard (My family is German) but yellow is ok. The flavor of each item on the sandwich comes through with each bite. The area where you order is full of take home mixes, honey, vinegars and grab and go meals. It's a great place to seach for specialty items. Stop by next time you are in Waxhaw.

This is a cool store in the heart of Waxhaw, NC. Inside there's all sorts of spices and seasoning along with chocolates, taffy and country style knickknacks. They also serve breakfast and a variety of coffees. It looks like two store fronts. One side there is the dining area and the other sides there store. Parking was easy right in front on the main road through the town. I ordered coffee and a breakfast sandwich which came out very quickly. Or maybe it was because I was taking in the store side and lost track of time. Either way this is a cool spot to check out in the morning.

We stopped in here because of the concept of the restaurant and general store. Super cute inside, mismatched tables etc. You order at the counter and they bring food out to you. I ordered the egg scramble with sausage which ended up being dinner sausage (not what i expected). Portion was not great and they don't allow subs if you can't have bread. Chicken wrap was decent and potato salad seemed homemade. The store is super cute but very expensive!

Took a jaunt down to Waxhaw and stopped by Provisions while here visiting my sister. What a cute spot! Wonderful market with nice staples like local honeys, spice mixes, and homemade sauces. We did not eat, but the breakfasts were looking really good, too. And who doesn't love an Alpaca wearing a winter hat! Such fun stuff.....and the ladies there were very friendly and attentive. I'm a coffee aficionado (translated: snob), and my lavender latte was not much above average, but this little spot is worth visiting. 3 stars for the coffee, and 5 stars for all else. bk

Well-crafted, naturally leavened breads and pastries w/ a rustic twist, exceptional service, delicious local coffee and all of the good vibes. I recently visited and picked up some pastries - a croissant, a pain au chocolat, and my fave: a kouign- amann. You know how your chocolate croissant never has enough chocolate? Virtuoso serves up the right balance of flaky, buttery, crackly pastry w/ a nice thin layer of chocolate that covers the entire base of the pastry - perfection! These aren't croissants are airy and light as they should be. Now to my fave - the kouign-amann with a twist. A buttery toasty laminated pastry similar to croissant but and filled with a creamy not-to-sweet egg custard that will make you swoon! It's like if a a kouign-amann and a Portuguese pastel-de-nata had a baby! #IYKYK They have a great variety of sourdough breads including baguettes, country loaves and some made with locally-milled whole grains. The coffee is locally roasted Enderly coffee. The record player spins cool tunes and the good vibes are off the charts. What a blessing to have this place in our backyard. Runs don't walk, y'all.

Finally got around to giving out one of my rare 5-star ratings, as Maxwell's Tavern just does it…read moreright. Sorry that they cannot control the availability of parking, so drop your party off to get in line and then have your own adventure in parking. It's a bar, but a very nice, clean bar, a super menu, daily specials for drinks and food and a nice chummy atmosphere to enjoy. Prices are reasonable and service spot-on. Maryrose took us on for lunch and kept the iced tea flowing. Wife had lunch nachos ($9.95), which were OK, but needed more cheese. We did take some home, but with the sour cream in it did not make it appetizing any more. I had a combination chile and half BLT ($10.25) which was excellent. The BLT was lunch enough for me, so I took the chile home for later. The side o'day was fried okra and we loved it ($4) and paid the extra $.40 for their excellent ranch dressing. Come at other than prime times for lunch and dinner. Benches outside are because it is a very popular place and you will warm those benches if you hit busy times.

We came here with our family for lunch the other day and enjoyed it!…read more We had salads and a club sandwich. My salad was tasty with fried chicken tossed in sweet/spicy sauce and their ranch tasted homemade. The onion rings were very crispy and good but I couldn't figure out how fried onions with no sauce costs $11. The space itself is very small and not stroller friendly at all. We sat out on their small patio and trying to navigate getting a stroller through the restaurant was quite the challenge. I would probably go back if I didn't have my baby with me.
