You gotta look for the old school sign. If you pass the correct entrance, you can drive to the back and circle around the fence. Once you get in the door. Sit yourself and someone with a nice smile and southern manners will help you with your gastronomic needs. The surprise is the pebble ice that I love, yes I'm wierd. They have daily specials which come with lots of sides to get down the main spotlight. I drank water so I can not comment on the iced tea. It could be brown kool-aid or a minor color pack candidate. It's more of a diner I would say than a restaurant. If you go in with that in mind, the food is really good. The service is excellent and the staff is super friendly and efficient. They took a mean, bacon, burger, and have plenty of other offerings. It's an old restaurant, but kept very clean. read more

Great local restaurant. Service was fast & friendly. They accept credit, and cash only on the lunch specials. We ordered a couple cheeseburgers, fries, fish & chips meal (fish was flounder, not cod as listed on the menu) and a chicken tenders kids meal. Food was good, and prices were fair, $38 for all. Great place for a quick breakfast lunch or dinner. They have good burgers, and they serve Pepsi, the best soda. The waitress was quick, the inside was a little out dated but clean. It does have a tight dining area. read more

Best breakfast in town!!! I hadn't been here until recently and have come 3 times in the last 6 weeks. Def worth the 35 min drive. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I was visiting my family while in Monroe we had breakfast there. I was very disappointed the restaurant wouldn't serve an elderly Mexican couple. The couple was there when we walked in and when we were leaving the couple was still there. They were confused as to why they hadn't received their food. I regret not helping the couple. We drop in Jud's Restaurant occasionally when in Monroe.Jud's has home style cooking.Their plate lunches come with a plenty.On several trips we have enjoyed country style steak and mashed potatoes,green beans or collard greens and some good cornbread.We also had their mac&cheese.Pinto beans and fried chicken.Sometimes we get together with some of our family we have in the Monroe and go in for supper.Normally my go to is their Hamburger Steak with grilled onions.They do a great job.Sometimes on the weekend we have gone in for burgers and fries.We have never been disappointed on any visits to Jud's Restaurant is good comfort food.We have never had breakfast there so I can't be much help on it.Maybe soon we can have breakfast. read more

Stopped in for the first time for lunch with my daughter and her toddler. It's going to be a big no for me. My fried fish sandwich and turnip greens were ok - nothing to write home about. I take customers here a couple times a month. Been doing this for some time. BUT NO MORE. My wife took her brother and niece today for his birthday. She saw that they had chicken and dumplings for the special today. So she ordered them. The waitress told her that they were out. Ok. So she order something else. 5 minutes later a REGULAR came in and ordered chicken and dumplings, and got a plate full. What the HELL? Jud's is a plain, modest, homestyle restaurant. There is a good amount of seating inside. Definitely a family restaurant with very friendly servers. The portion sizes are larger than normal, so much so I couldn't finish my meal. The special of the day was country style steak and it came with three sides. I chose a side salad with mac-n-cheese and greens. The food was quite flavorful as you would expect from a good country restaurant. The prices here are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The service was unbelievably quick-I received my food within five minutes of ordering. One of the country staples in the Monroe area, according to the locals. read more

Breakfast at 1pm on Saturday afternoon. Busy, as you can imagine, but worth the wait. Good stuff!

We have eaten here quite a few times. Always pick-up. Staff are super friendly. Food is great and great portioned size. The only thing I would say could improve this food is more side options. They are great in giving three sides with the meals but I find the only thing I have enjoyed is the mashed potato and gravy. Pricing is excellent. Came here the other night and was sorely disappointed. The girls that work here were great and took care of us. The food was deplorable. Mashed potatoes and gravy were probably the worst I've ever had. Mac and cheese was so dry and over cooked, you have to sip your water between bites. The only good thing about my meal was the ranch. Juds has been in Monroe since the 50's. It is an affordable vegetable plate kind of place. They have very good fried chicken on Sundays and do a large lunch crowd. We also love their Macaroni and Cheese. Very good! read more
