It's now Nov 19th with a delivery status of "in production" meaning they are waiting for stock to complete the production and will still need to be shipped to Hawaii. Spent $2k on a couch which I'm not expecting to receive for at least 4 months. They weren't able to provide me an estimate date or delivery. If this was the case, they should have not provided me an estimated delivery of November. If you need to purchase from this company, I would suggest to purchase an item already in stock. I live in 300 sq ft in Honolulu so compact furniture is a must! Maria from the Kakaako location answered my questions via internet earlier last week. I wasn't able to get to the store to meet her but a buddy had bought her bedroom furniture from Valyou and a buddy got a three piece leather living room set for Ala Moana high rise so I too hoped it would be good for what I needed. Maria set up a ticket and made sure it was pulled from the warehouse for me to pick up today, on her day off mind you! Thank you Maria. The two boxes fit easily in short bed Tacoma also FYI! Honestly the worst and most inconvenient service ever. So far I paid over $3,000 and waited over 3 months and still haven't gotten what I wanted. They have nice pieces but if you're expecting or needing an on time delivery and easy to reach service, FORGET IT. You will not find it here. Even if you do get a hold of them, most likely that person will not have the answer and tell you to Wait for contact. I ordered a sectional here and with the current situation in regards to the pandemic and shipping, I was ok waiting for a sectional and expected some delays to begin with. The original delivery date was already going to be a long wait and each time they contacted me to push it back, sure it was a little annoying but I still was very patient and understanding. This happened about three to four times before they offered to let me pick from another item that can be sent immediately. Why would I do that when I have waited months for a very specific order I wanted! I stressed my disappointment but insisted I would wait for my order, and that I was hoping to get my order by the holidays. I was given a call and told my order was going to be shipped and arrive by the holidays after it has been inspected. So I wait. TELL ME WHY I receive the wrong item? Let me tell you these items are heavy and not easy to bring in. Only to find its not what I wanted. Now I have two huge boxes in my living room, nowhere to put it, while expecting my family for the holidays and a baby with no space to crawl anywhere! I reached out to let them know and request the order to be picked up. They informed me exchanges take 5-10 business days but cannot assure me a time when I will be contacted for the exchange and refused to call me. When I asked if my correct order would be delivered on the day the incorrect order is picked Up, they refused to answer and said they sent my message out to their team. After multiple attempts and telling them they should have answers for these types of questions, they finally tell me they use two different couriers and won't be picking up and dropping off at the same time. So this is what I'm looking at - two month delay / push back after expected delivery - incorrect order - unknown wait period to be contacted for an exchange - 5-10 days from time of contact to pick up - and lord knows how long until I get the correct order?! So it is the end of December now and I ordered my couch in September. I'm wondering how many MONTHS I will be waiting for an item I paid over $3000 for. read more

Where should I start, Firstly I waited 6 month to get my couch delivered to me with no explanation from the support, After the delivery turned out they forgot about the ottomans so had to wait another month for the ottomans to arrive, The covers had a different texture on the picture which I complained about to which the manager said that this is improved material. I naively believed them which was a mistake . Only after a first wash on gentle cycle the covers started to falling apart. I complained about this online on their instagram where I got a reply from their support that I should message them via email for the resolution. I messaged and explained the problem and they told me that essentially, this type of damage is considered to be the result of normal wear and tear. Seriously? They publicly replied to me online only to make themselves look good like they are trying to fix the issue. Which is a lie. Valyou Furniture is exactly what they are. Their furniture is so beautiful and inexpensive. From the outside of the store it looks expensive so in the past I passed. Fortunately I read really good things online about Valyou Furniture so I decided to take a look. Small parking lot but lots of street parking. Temperature check and hand sanitizer at the door, then you are in for a treat. Every furniture piece they sell is surprisingly inexpensive and made well. The store is really clean and well thought out. We meet with Maria who was very thoughtful and patient. She knew a lot about their products and combinations, the prices, the durability and best of all how to clean them. My favorite objective when purchasing furniture. It's the number one thing on my list. "How hard is it to clean" LOL. Maria was awesome with helping us decide what color and pieces to purchase. She knew exactly how much room each combination of the sectional would be and how to bundle the pieces to save even more money. I used to buy all of our furniture at Home World/Red Knot but when those stores told me that most of their inventory has a 6 months wait time, I started looking elsewhere and I am glad I did! Valyou store was easy to find and had its own parking lot. The store is on a smaller side, but all the furniture on display were nice modern design that could also matched to traditional looks, too. I ended up purchasing one sectional, one small table and two chairs, and all four items were delivered within 5 days!! That is unthinkable from other major furniture stores. The delivery fee was $100 and it did not include assembly, although the sectional had nothing to assemble and the table was easy to put together. The only negatives I would have is that the delivery guys were not happy to bring up the pieces to our home on top of driveway and refused to take any trash with them since we didn't pay for the assembly. If they seemed happier to do their jobs I would have tipped them well... but that is that. Overall, I am very happy with the whole experience and will return again. read more

I had seen some of Valyou's online commercials which seemed a little cheesy, but based on a friend's recommendation I decided to check it out. I'm glad that I did, it exceeded my expectations. I'm an Ikea kind of guy, and miss the simple elegant and affordable type of furniture that is sorely lacking in Hawaii. While Valyou isn't quite Ikea, it seems like one of the closer fits that I've been able to find on Oahu. Prices aren't cheap, but they're reasonable. Style seems to mostly be modern and it has some character and flare too. Located next to SALT in Kakaako, there is ample parking in the surrounding area. I got the king size charm 2.0 bed frame with the matching nightstands. I'm very happy with the results of putting the bed together even though I put it together upside down the first time it was easy to fix!! I would've liked to had more clear instructions but honestly I can be quite a dumb ass putting together furniture. After shopping at the Kapolei location several times, I decided to visit the Kaka'ako showroom to see their furniture selection. Upon entering, all shoppers will have to walk through an "Anti Pandemic Safety Gate". It looks like a TSA airport screening gate but not as intimidating. All it does is it takes your temperature and sprays a fine mist to sanitize you. Once I was inside the store, I was greeted by the friendly staff. I was assisted by a friendly associate named Carmen. I knew specifically what I wanted and she provided me with information about the item and delivery/ pick-up options. I decided that I would pick up and assemble the furniture. Carmen efficiently processed the transaction and gave me instructions on how and where to pick up the item. I picked up the item the very next day at their Kuwili St. warehouse in Iwilei. It wasn't difficult to find and there was a large "Valyou" sign on the building. After parking in front of the office, I was greeted by a very friendly Shaun who verified and assisted me with the pick up. After a minute, Shaun and another worker loaded my vehicle with the heavy unassembled merchandise. It was a very easy pick up experience! Afterwards, I was excited to rush home and assemble the item. My wife and I just moved to Oahu a few months ago with nothing but our clothes and the car we shipped over here. When we found Valyou we were stoked because not only does Valyou have really nice pieces of furniture, it's really affordable and everything arrives rather quickly. We honestly furnished our entire house with Valyou furniture and 2 months in we're still really happy with everything! Our living room and bedroom are both fully furnished with Valyou stuff and so far we haven't had any issues with any of it. Living on an island in the middle of the pacific has its perks, as well as its drawbacks, so delivery can sometimes take a bit if something isn't in stock but that's just the reality of living on an island, not necessarily Valyou's fault. We had one thing take longer than expected but one thing out of 7 pieces isn't the end of the world. Honestly, this place is pretty epic and great to have on the island. Needed a sofa so we went in. Salesperson that helped us eventually set up a cart for us so we could decide later whether or not to buy the sofa online. She was adamant that we use the link directly to check out and that we do it as soon as possible so that we wouldn't miss out on securing the couch. When we followed up later thru the link we thought the price was a little higher than what we could get it for (not including shipping). When we started a new cart and applied the online discount, it was indeed $200 less than what the salesperson's link quoted us, including shipping. Maybe this was a commission fee? Anyhow I thought it was somewhat unprofessional that the salesperson made it seem like she was helping us secure the best possible price when in actuality she wasn't looking out for us as customers and trying to take advantage of our "need" to get a new sofa. I can't speak to the quality of the furniture because I never received the item I ordered. After 9 months of waiting (and several instances of being told "just two more weeks!"), I decided to just cancel the order and request a refund. For some mind-boggling reason, their policy is apparently to provide a refund by check after 45 business days. Well, 4 months went by and still no check. I called to ask about my refund and they insisted they sent the check and would "investigate" why I never received it. Then they just shrugged their shoulders and told me to dispute the charge with my bank. What a pain in the a**. I've never run into a refund process this difficult and still don't have my money. Why couldn't they just return the money to my card? Recommend giving your money to someone who is going to take care of it if things go wrong. Awful. Update: my card issuer says Valyou has not cooperated with the dispute. Edit #2: My card issuer says there is nothing they can do so Valyou just stole my money. Avoid at all costs. read more

I should have not gone cheap but I didn't realize their furniture was barely going to last 1.5 yrs I purchased a monkey pod dining table and 6 "forest day chairs" The forest chairs started coming apart after a few months...I basically had to put it away because I was afraid it would literally disassemble if I sat on it. Another chair started feeling loose, because it was basically glued together. I basically held on to the subpar pieces and just put them in another room so no one could sit on it. I purchased 2 couches & this is my review after having spent time with these couches. Originally I purchased the feathers couch, it arrived & we set it up that's when we realized how flimsy the covers were. The zipper is incredibly thin for a large piece of cushion to cover. The zippers won't zip up at all because it is so cheap. I've been asking since October 2022 if I can get a cover replacement or a zipper what are my options but I got a email saying they are experiencing high volume of emails hmm I wonder why... Second I purchased the Intimo couch & although it's a pretty couch we received it without the AC adapters so we were unable to recline the couch for THREE months until we received the missing part. How crazy is that... they again said they have a high volume of emails. I still have not received a replacement zipper I'll sew it in myself if I have to for my couch & it has been so long I even moved off island. I went to their IG because I remember always seeing customers asking where their orders are or making buyers aware of this company etc.. I noticed today that all those comments have been swept & deleted off of their page which is very suspect to me. I feel awful for recommending this store to so many friends originally, visually the couch itself is nice but there's a reason these couches are always on sale. Spend your money elsewhere for a company that values their customers instead of deleting & hiding their faults.
