Muse Kailua - Muse Kailua storefront --when you got to Lokahi Kailua Market stop by this store

Muse Kailua

Do you dream of having a vacation cottage with a beachy Hawaiian theme with a touch vintage…read moreflare...well Muse Kailua has that in the tiniest shop in Kailua. As a shell lover there was so much here that I loved that I've never seen anywhere else. Everything from clothing to jewelry, accessories, cards, trinkets and the cutest decor. I fell in love with a whale plate but went with a cup which can double as a bowl that I plan to use as a gift for a whale lover...gosh it's so cute!!! I absolutely love finding this somewhat hidden gem that's filled with so much selective treasures with the loveliest staff so patient and kind to compliment every choice you make. Support local, support small and follow them on Instagram @muse_kailua and their online shop https://www.musekailua.com and see the calm this Kailua boutique has to offer. Thank you!

I have many dream homes. My first dream home is a 3-story haunted Victorian Mansion with a large…read morewrap-around porch and wrought-iron fence outside. It would also have a large forest in the back with a small babbling stream running through it. The atmosphere would be a dark, dreary, foggy and rainy place. If you think I'm kidding, I am not. My second dream home would be another 3-story non-haunted Victorian Mansion with an airy porch with flowers all over the place, and the interior would be decorated with stuff from this store: Muse Kailua. I know non-haunted Victorian Mansions do not appear very oceany but who cares! I love the stuff in here and you could probably incorporate a lot of their stuff with your current decor. My current decor is shabby messiness with a hodge-podge of clutter, mess, papers strewn about, Halloween decorations out all-year-long, paper receipts piling up in boxes, dried hibiscus seed pods cluttering up the counter and a pile of (fake) skeletons on the living room floor. No, again I am not kidding. Aside from this foolish decor in my house, the stuff in here is the stuff I dream about: a clean, uncluttered home, airy windows with white billowy curtains, home smelling like fresh lemons and decor from Muse Kaiula: seashells, floral plates, tropical oceany goodness, whimsical lovely items and dream-like girlyness. If you are into Victorian, girliness, girly girl, mermaids, ocean, tropical, and ooh-la-la this is your place, and you're in luck if you're on the mainland because now they have their online store open!! Return factor: OF COURSE are you kidding??? Coz I'm not.

Favorite boutique on the island! The clothing is on trend without being trendy so you can purchase…read moreknowing it won't go out of season. They have so many beautiful items, I want them all! Last time I stopped by, I was on my way to the beach so didn't have the appropriate under garments to determine the fit. The woman working there put the three items aside and I came back at the end of the day, showered with the right garments on, and when I tried on the dresses, I had to buy all three! Two of them are made of gauze with spaghetti straps. They have a billowy flow so I went with the small/medium, and I'm typically a l/xl, bit the fit was perfect. Bought it in both black and navy. In the warm months, I live in them! Perfect when running errands, as a cover up to the beach, hanging around my house - I just throw it on and I'm presentable and ready to go! The other dress was a very fitted black maxi with thin straps and silver stud buttons from the chest to the hem, giving this simple black dress a modern, edgy feel. It's so beautiful and one of my absolute favorite dresses. I wasn't sure if I could carry it off but the woman working there, who always gives honest critiques, said it worked. I have to say she was right because whenever I wear it, I feel so confident and that is really what fashion is about. Love that the owner buys clothes that work for all women - of any age and body shape. Thank you! In addition to clothing, Olive has accessories like hats, handbags, sandals, scarves and jewelry to complete your outfit. I'm still mad at myself for passing on a black crochet hobo bag! Lesson learned, if you love it, buy it! Jewelry here is affordable so I always buy a beaded or wrap bracelet to add to my collection. Or a long pendant necklace or dangly earrings. They carry a large selection of moisturizers, body lotions, soaps, bath salts and all the items that make you feel soft and smell good! If you need gifts or classy tokens from Hawaii, they have Aloha key chains, wall art with beach sayings, candles, books, cards, throws, a Turkish beach towels and so much more! The store is bright and spacious so even though there is a variety of items, there is plenty of room to walk around and take it all in. Definitely make a point to visit Olive Boutique for a wonderful shopping experience.

Otherwise this place is expensive but quality of items are top notch. I always say to splurge on good quality versus spend more on cheaper things to only have to replace them more often. I will say the last time I came into the store, it was quite annoying that a dog was barking quite a bit and then a comment from another customer or friend of the owner not sure. But I definitely ignored the rude remark. I just wanted to do my shopping in peace.

It's a small shop but it is packed with vintage merchandise. At first it feels overwhelming with all the different items that are displayed in the store, but once you see something that grabs your attention, your eyes focus on that one area of the shop. For me, being a huge Peanuts and Snoopy fan, the vintage Peanuts Christmas ornaments caught my eye. The vintage ornaments are ceramic, whereas the current ones are usually plastic. The salesperson seeing my interest in the Peanuts Christmas ornaments asked me if I'd like to see some that were still in boxes wrapped in tissue paper. Of course, I told her that I was interested! She was so patient unwrapping each ornament from the tissue paper and displaying them for me in the glass counter at the back of the store. She also pointed out all the different Peanuts merchandise that she had in the shop, including these really cool Peanuts Pepsi bottle caps from Japan. I didn't get the bottle caps, but I purchased several Christmas ornaments and Snoopy pins. I also added to my cart 8 Disney trading pins which were 4 for $5. I walked out of the shop with so many great finds totaling $160! The salesperson was so friendly and helpful (I didn't catch her name), that it made the 30 minutes that I spent in the shop "like a kid in a candy store" experience. I definitely will be back to this shop the next time that I visit Kailua!

Child's play filled with fun!…read more Love SoHa Keiki as it just really screams my inner child and wished I had all these items decades ago. Located in Kailua Shopping Center this super cute shop is filled with all things for the keiki...and keiki in heart. They do keep up with the trend which currently is Halloween which is on sale at the moment all the decor and spooky fun items are clever and entertaining and bargain like that is just so hard to resist. This shop is much smaller in comparison to Kahala but it's still filled with so much items many are very local like saimin and shave ice plushie to Hawaii puzzles, toys and decor with items for infants to toddler I've shopped here for gifts and many all ages would just love as well. Staff here is a delight and with lots of free parking making your shopping experience here fun and easy. Thank you!

Lucky for me, I was able to snag a parking spot right in front of the shop. I do know that this parking lot can get pretty packed, especially on the weekends. We were asked to bring a baby book and I loved all the options here from local authors/ artists! I picked up the " Aloha Friday Keiki Club". But there were so many other cute titles that I think would be a great addition to a keiki's reading collection. I also picked up a teething ring in the shape of a monstera leaf. I'm truly obsessed with all the island themed baby things here! They do have greeting cards but I didn't see any baby shower specific ones but there were a few cute birthday cards. If you're in the market for a baby or keiki gift- this is the perfect spot to find what you need.

Shopping in Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. Strolling along the sidewalk, I passed by Aloha Kira and did a double take. I saw Miffy on the top shelf of this store. I had to go in and ask... "Is this store related to the one in Waikiki?" Yes! This is the sister store of Kira x Miffy at the Royal Hawaiian Center! Of course, we had to look at all of the Miffy merchandise... fanny packs, hair clips, stickers, caps, plushies, etc. Other items featured Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Snoopy, and more! There were pet gifts and a children's corner! The decor was cute and bright! Service was cheerful and attentive! We'll be back because this shop is more convenient than Waikiki! Plus... there's free parking behind the building!

The other two were on their phones laughing at something. Not an issue for me because I don't care to be bothered when shopping but I can see how this would be a turn off for other customers. Why two stars? Because of something I find so absurd and ridiculous as a business. I wanted a pink miffy clip. One of the two girls that were on the phone gets up and rings me up and tells me my total is $27.53. I give the girl a $50 and she tells me she doesn't have enough change and asks for me to pay in smaller bills. So you're telling me you don't have at least one $20 bill and two $1 bills? Or two $10 bills? Or even four $5 bills? Part of me wonders if that was their roundabout way of telling me to pay with my card so they could add the surcharge for using a credit card? I just told her no need then, and walked out. One of them yells "have a good day!" as I'm walking out. At least they remembered their customer service at the end.
