This is been on my list to check out for quite some time and I finally stopped by. I was looking for an end table and maybe a low coffee table but did not find what I was looking for but it was really fun to look around. I found a few things that I liked but not enough to buy. There's a lot to look at and also more things upstairs. I can see where you'd want to drop by now and then to see what comes in as I am sure the inventory changes. I didn't realize that I've been in the shop before when it was across from Kahala Mall behind the old Tony Roma's. And I loved going there. It's like finding an old friend rediscovering it again. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience consigning with this shop. I do not recommend placing your items on consignment here find a different place! I made the mistake of consigning 2 hand carved Hawaiian chests. I was sent an email from the owner Chip informing me he would sell my large chest for $150 and the smaller one for $75. (Screenshot attached with the item number). This was a reasonable price to me. However a month later I received my payment summary showing that my chest sold for $50 and $75. (Screenshot attached of payment summary). I double checked my emails and phone call log to see if I had missed any messages from the shop but found none. The shop has my email, and my phone number on file due to me emailing and texting photos of the items I wanted to consign with them. I went down to the shop in person thinking this must be a mistake or clerical error. I spoke with a salesman who was nice and apologetic for the situation but informed me I needed to speak with Chip the owner. He said he'd let Chip know about the situation and I should expect a phone call that day. After 5 days I never received a call so I called the store and was told Chip the owner was not in. The sales associate again was nice and looked into who sold the chest. He informed me that the record shows Chip the owner sold my chest for $50 and not $150 it was no error. I asked why he would sell it for a $100 discount without my permission?? He said he would have Chip call me. A week later I still never received an explanation or apology from Chip. I emailed Chip on 7/10 about the issue and still no response. So far a bad experience, I wouldn't trust consigning with them again. read more

They just moved to a very visible and convenient location at 1901 South King Street and have plenty of parking in the front of the store. The store is two stories, jam packed, full of desirable used furniture and collectibles. The only consignment store in Honolulu that deals with used furniture. From a buyer's perspective, they sell gently used furniture and treasures from all over the world. I've seen American arts and craft and Victorian furniture, Knoll Barcelona chair, Corbusier lounge chair, Hermes folding stool and cushions, Chinese Qing dynasty furniture, carved koa furniture, Persian rugs, artwork by artist likes of Dali, Picasso, Madge Tennent, Luigi Fumagalli; Mid-century modern lamps, Hawaiiana, Pre-Columbian artifacts, Qing dynasty porcelain, Japanese Meiji period furniture; and other interesting collectibles; have pass through this shop's doors. I find things here priced to sell! This place is a hidden gem! I felt myself go back in time as a child. My grandparents had a lot of the furnitrue that was available. The staff was friendly and even shared dad jokes. (I do enjoy a good dad joke lol). My friend did make a purchase and prices did seem reasonable. I enjoyed walking down memory lane as well as learn some new things with some of the items that were here. My favorite part was ringing the gong. That was totally cool! I feel lucky to find this place. I wish I found it earlier! The Consignment Center is a great place and may be the only one in Hawaii. This store is located across from Kahala Mall in the building that was previously Golden Duck Kahala, which was terrible, Chin's Kahala, which was very good, and famously Tony Roma's, which is too many years ago for me to remember. It's the first driveway after you pass Kilauea, and there's several parking stalls. The inside is a mess with items all around. You can get dizzy with all the items around and the smell of old furniture. This store sells quality furniture, paintings, antiques, collectibles, and other vintage items. All of the items are co-signed, obviously, with the owners of the items. The store takes 50% of the sold price. So if you have furniture and other items you want to sell, they are able to come pick them up and sell them for you. It's a great way to sell your things without the hassle, but you'll only get half to what you might normally sell it yourself. That is, of course, IF it sells. The prices are ok. Some items are priced very good, and some are just ridiculously expensive. The good thing is that you can bargain! So you can get a great deal. I was in the market for drawers and night stands, and we found some very beautiful ones of a particular wood at very good prices. This type of furniture are very hard to come by, and with all of its stores that sells them closed, I need to go through Craigslist or Facebook marketplace, which is very troublesome. So I feel lucky to find it in one place! The staff here are very friendly and courteous. They'll never pressure you into buying anything. Instead, they'll help and work with you to get the best possible outcome. Space is limited, so they want to sell as much big items as possible so they can bring in new items. I must admit I've been to this store several times already hoping to find some hidden treasure or to find a price reduction of what I want. Sadly, no luck lol. read more

Fun! I might become obsessed with this place. I have only been in once but there is so much to look at and apparently the items are constantly turning over. So, stopping in on the regular seems like a good thing to do. You can find everything from tables to couches to lamps, plates and saucers, vases, and jewelry. I particularly love that some of the items are antiques and everything is generally in good shape. This is not junk. I purchased two really unique chairs at a reasonable price, the staff was pleasant and helpful, parking was convenient on Cooke St. What more can I ask for? I have never written a bad review on a store or restaurant! This store and the owner Chip is the worst. Do NOT shop here or do business with them. The owner is dishonest!!! Simply do NOT trust him or his business ethics. I dropped off sofa/ottoman to his store The owner wanted to sell like for $1,000 and I said too high. So we lowered by $200 . I had to follow up with him 10 days later and he said via text it sold ASAP at full price. Note I never signed or got an consignment contract with him. He only emailed me a price of the item . That was it and said he takes 50% of the item sold. I expected a check for half but instead I was shorted by $79.50 He said sometimes the computer gives a discount and gave me the wrong amount via check. Then he back peddles and said he gave a discount to the customer for selling it. First he said this was sold full price! Then he changes the story 2 more times to fit his needs. We text back and forth and he then starts dropping F** bombs to me left and right that he was done talking to me for few dollars that he still owes me. What a professional business person.?? Totally upset that I got ripped off by this shady guy. Sometimes life lets you deal with bad apples. This guy Chip is a very bad apple. It left a sour taste in my mouth. Two weeks ago I travelled to Honolulu to try to help an elderly relative downsize in advance of moving to smaller living quarters. Having run a consignment shop myself in California for 10 years, I was delighted to discover a high quality shop in Honolulu ----- Hawaii Consignment Center. I spoke to the owner Chip about the variety and condition of the items we were looking to consign, sent him pictures via text and in short order had a clear idea of what would and would not work in his shop. Chip was friendly, professional and empathic of the situation. (He even shared some of his favorite local places to eat -- much appreciated!!!) Of special help was the shop's moving assistance with large furniture pieces and for a reasonable price. When I brought my relative to Hawaii Consignment Center with a couple of boxes of items to consign, Jeffrey helped create the consignor contract and worked with my sister-in-law to talk through pricing options on each item. Jeffrey was incredible -- so patient, kind and respectful with someone having difficulty selling off some of their treasures. I can't say enough positive things about Chip and Jeffrey!!! read more

Consignment Center recently opened in the former space of Golden Duck Chinese and previously Tony Roma's restaurant across from Kahala Mall. This consignment store is different than most consignment stores on the island. CC specialize in high-quality repurposed furniture, art and antiques. It is a large stand-alone building with ample parking in their back lot. The entire store has to be over 4,000 square feet. It was by accident I drove by and on the spur of the moment, I decided to check out the place after seeing their sign. Nationally, there seems to be a trend of recyling high-quality furniture since many American consumers are more conscious about the environment than ever before. I was pleased to see this is becoming a possibility locally. At the same time, it is a no brainer to understand the recycling trend is a direct response (and appreciation) for better made goods or quality furniture. "Oldies but goodies" as they used to say and it still rings true even today. I found it so cool there is a place like Consignment Center selling good used furniture. They also offer brand-new high-quality furniture in addition to their inventory of used and consignment items. Once I was inside, I saw wood furniture made from mahogany, teak and koa. In addition, the store owners told me they can handle refinishing used furniture for customers. Restore and reuse is the new way to go nowadays. Oahu doesn't seem to have any or many good used furniture stores like the mainland. It was really nice to perused through the aisles to admire some of these antique pieces. The stuff looked unique and so well-made; no pressed wood furniture here. A nice selection of American, Asian and European artwork, sculptures and solid wood furniture really caught my eyes throughout the store. Some were quite dazzling; especially the prices too...LOL...I am admiring from afar. They do have different price points - making it easier on the wallet. The staff was helpful and informative with their knowledge of different pieces. You can tell some gigantic ensemble sets came from various estates. Weekly arrivals make it fun to check back to Consignment Center often and this makes the hunt more exciting if you're looking for particular piece. I shall return to look for something I want but I really don't know exactly what that item(s) is or resemble until I see it. read more

Chip the owner refuses to pay us for 2 items he sold , when we tried to call several times, after COVID started no one answered the phone , finally talked to someone there and they said they were closed for awhile so the time on our contract would be adjusted accordingly, we decided after some time to just pic up our items since we had not received a payment for any of our items and were NOT NOTIFIED of Chips intentions to just store our items , when all the while we thought they were on display to sale... So then we went down to retrieve our 5 items that he still had , we looked all around the store and none of our items were on display, we asked where are they since we had never received a check for the items , Josh couldn't find them , so We asked to be paid for items he couldn't find ... then Josh went hunting our items upstairs and he finally found 3 of them stored way in the back UPSTAIRS ( customers can't go upstairs to shop) ... he kept apologizing for this and said he understood why we were upset our items were not displayed in the store and instead stuffed away upstairs.... we asked why we didn't receive a call to come and pic them up before they were stored upstairs, he had no answere. Poor guy , I felt sorry for him , he brought down 3 items he found out of 5 , we asked where the other 2 could be? I told him to look up our account and their own records showed we had 5 items in the store and all were still available for sale, we left with the 3 items he did find and said we will return for the other 2 when they find them , I thanked him for his hard work , (he kept trying to call Chip the owner not available during all this time ).... after couple days We received an e-mail from Chip that the 2 items we were looking for had sold ... he put all the blame on us and told us he could have auctioned our items off , but instead stored them , as if this was a favor to us , all of this still didn't explain why we weren't notified and paid for the 2 items he admitted He did sale... he still won't give us the money for the 2 items one of which was the most expensive item we had on consignment there ... we had done business there when Katie ( the blond ) was working there and everything went very well when she was there, we are shocked by his lack of professionalism and just overall lack of business etiquette, he has turned everything around on us , but that's what some people do when they get caught.... your store is in Hawaii but your lack of ALOHA is like a giant sign on your forehead.... just do the right thing and pay us what you owe us , show yourself and your business some honor as a man and human being. read more

I was interested in a set of mid-c chairs, and I wanted to know if they would entertain an offer and the clerk was a very indignant response, as she indicated that the price was the price, and I thought, wow! if I had consigned something with them, I would at least like to know what the offer was, vs letting what could be the only decent offer one might get walk out the door. I like some of the furniture, albeit overpriced, the customer service, on the other hand, has a ways to go, as I have purchased elsewhere, and will not return. Hawaii consignment center is my secret pleasure! I moved into a larger apartment and didn't want to go and buy all new furniture because it will be just so costly. I found this consignment center and walked in and didn't know where to go first! They had absolutely everything that I needed, the style I was looking for and most importantly the price that fit my pocket. I go back quickly just to check out their new stock of tchotchkes and other little areas that people notice when they walked into my home. I was looking for unique pieces, found this site on Craigslist. Couldn't wait to check it out! Took me 45 min in traffic from Salt Lake after work. Was worried I would not make it before they closed. Made it with 25 minutes to spare, thank goodness I made it, because it was worth it! Aunty almost doesn't want to let other people know how great a place this is, but sharing is caring, right? Consignment Center is FANTASTIC for people like me who like unique wonderful pieces and bargains. What makes it even better is that this is a form of recycling at its best. People bring in their old or unwanted treasures and set the price that they want, and shoppers get a variety of great merchandise to choose from such as art gallery quality paintings at super good prices! Aunty can attest to that - in fact, it is almost addicting because "new" old stuff keeps coming in to fill the space of sold stuff. Sometimes Aunty can't control her credit card flying out of her wallet because it is a "have to have", if you know what I mean. Recent purchases were John Young original acrylics, less known artist's paintings that spark joy, killer rattan furniture set that makes my parlor look fabulous, and I am going in the next few minutes to (hopefully) purchase a very cool floor lamp with a carved pineapple motif. OMG, this place has everything so it doesn't matter how your taste runs. I just discovered it and was blown away by the inventory and the amazing prices. I usually look for furniture and art finds at the Salvation Army, but now I can "step up", so excited, am telling everyone! Chip the owner is delightful and knows furniture and is knowledgeable about refinishing, gave me great advice, said if you want to spend $600 then refinish it, but if you don't, it looks fine as it is". I gave this place another chance and I'm happy I did. I love their furniture and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. I had been looking for a new coffee table for some time and was able to find a beautiful mid century piece. They allow you to hold an item for up to 24 hours and I'm happy I had time to think about the coffee table before making a final decision. I love it so much!
