My second dream home would be another 3-story non-haunted Victorian Mansion with an airy porch with flowers all over the place, and the interior would be decorated with stuff from this store: Muse Kailua. I know non-haunted Victorian Mansions do not appear very oceany but who cares! I love the stuff in here and you could probably incorporate a lot of their stuff with your current decor. My current decor is shabby messiness with a hodge-podge of clutter, mess, papers strewn about, Halloween decorations out all-year-long, paper receipts piling up in boxes, dried hibiscus seed pods cluttering up the counter and a pile of (fake) skeletons on the living room floor. No, again I am not kidding. Aside from this foolish decor in my house, the stuff in here is the stuff I dream about: a clean, uncluttered home, airy windows with white billowy curtains, home smelling like fresh lemons and decor from Muse Kaiula: seashells, floral plates, tropical oceany goodness, whimsical lovely items and dream-like girlyness. If you are into Victorian, girliness, girly girl, mermaids, ocean, tropical, and ooh-la-la this is your place, and you're in luck if you're on the mainland because now they have their online store open!! It's what I like to call my personal space as well as in my opinion it interprets like a beachy calm vibe and this shop certainly gives that feel with merchandise to fill just about every room in your space the specific originality here is quite unique walking in the block stamp Spam Musubi on various items along with the actual stamp displayed right beside them is pretty cool, I fell absolutely in love with so many of their jewelry which I did get along with a few other items. The vibe of the whole shop is so nice and very organized making browsing so easy and dangerously tempting as I found myself selecting several items and finding out that some were actually on sale as well...ohhh love a sale! He has amassed an impressive collection lot legit vintage jackets (some from France, old military pieces and cool Levi's) and sweatshirts in cool colors with the perfect amount of fade and they are soft and comfy. And one of the coolest things (and I've never seen this before) they will professionally sew one of their vintage patches to their cool jackets or even embroider them, making each piece so personal and one of a kind. Featuring many of Lauren Roth's soft, colorful art with various Hawaiian landscapes, flowers and beaches as the subject, it's challenging to make a decision! While the art is colorful, it isn't childlike. The palettes are soft and can easily blend in or stand out in a variety of home decor styles. I decided on a print of the mountains with the ocean in the foreground to hang in my home in Portland. It will be a reminder of my love for Hawaii and my many trips to the various islands and towns. Kailua on O'ahu being my favorite destination . In addition to prints, there are also textiles. The handbags are fun and charming!!! I may have to get the bucket bag with th tassel! She makes postcards on thin pieces of wood that can easily be framed. They have a vintage look that I adore. And coloring books for the kids or adults! Cards, postcards, stickers, serving platters...and different items coming, I'm sure. Imagination never stops! This gallery also features other artists, giving them a vehicle to display their work. The gallery in Kailua town has a laid back charm and is a pleasant treat on a walk through town. We have one of her pieces above our kitchen nook and it brightens the grayest mornings. They have notecards and calendars that will make great holiday gifts. (note- my pictures do not do justice to the vibrance of her work) You have to go and see for yourself.
