Superior furniture... and Service to match! When my mom said that she wanted to go to "Ashley Furniture Store", my gut feeling was - oh, no... It's expensive. Mom had seen an advertisement on television for Ashley HomeStore. She had been to other furniture stores where she couldn't find what she wanted. Mom also had a brochure from the Navy Exchange, showing an Ashley cabinet that she was interested in, but the NEX didn't have it and it was out of stock in California, too. The combination of shopping around; watching the television commercial; and having a photo in a brochure motivated my mom to ask me to take her to Ashley HomeStore! I'll do anything for my mom. She spends a lot of time in the living room where she wants to replace some tables with better looking cabinets with storage space. I want mom to be happy, so, I held in my opinion and drove her to Ashley HomeStore. There are five Ashley locations on Oahu and mom chose to go to the one in Honolulu, on Ward Avenue (not the one in Salt Lake area, the Beretania Street store, the Kapolei location, nor Aiea). There was a free parking lot on the corner of Queen Street and Ward Avenue. Inside the fabulously decorated showroom, we were greeted by Andrea. She was kind, efficient, and helpful! She listened to my mom and answered all of my sister's questions promptly. (I texted photos to my sister who lives with mom.) Even though Andrea just started working here three months ago, she was able to navigate the computer system, while knowing the inventory on the floor. She was knowledgeable about the discounts (currently 5 percent off because of the Anniversary Sale), delivery schedule, and fees ($149 including assembly). Andrea was very thoughtful and observant - she offered my mom a seat and moved furniture around for us to look at different angles. Excellent! The transaction flowed so smoothly. I was really impressed! Andrea changed my apprehensions about Ashley HomeStore into a Five-Star Review because of her professionalism, positive attitude, and friendly personality! Hopefully, no one has any issues with their purchase from this chain of stores. 1st purchase in early 2020 was 5 star service as well as the sofabed and lovseat we bought was excellent on a midrange Ashley sofa set. 2nd purchase was also 5 star service on both service and merchandise on a higher quality sofa sleeper that was 3x the cost of their average mid-range sofabed. Great quality and performance on a well made Pulliser sofabed. The most recent purchase was last month and it was delivered damaged. The deliver guys noticed it and took photos to send back to CS Wo. Told me that CS Wo will be replacing it. You really can't tell how good a company is until something goes wrong. If nothing ever goes wrong, you have a great sales rep that bends over backwards to make your sales experience pleasant and you get a good product. Well if anything goes wrong with your sale, I hope you don't get customer support rep Emma. She treats you like you're not important. If she looked up my record and see I bought $8k in livingroom furniture in just 2yrs span of time and should not put me through all the hoops to get my replacement. Went to check out Ashley home store @ Ward Avenue Location yesterday (Sep 6, 2019 Friday) *Had to check them out to look for some SOFA COUCHES for the crib. As soon as we entered the store we were greeted by an associate worker name LORI, She introduced her self and asked if we needed any help just ask for her, So that was very welcoming for us. So we looked around the whole store and they have a lot of different choices of sofa couches and different materials from polyester to leather etc, too choose from. We came across some styles that caught our attention. And at the same time LORI Thee Ashley staff was always there to ask if we were doing okie and had any questions regarding the products. I asked her some Q's and she gave back some good A's so it was helpful. She even mentioned to us that their other store on beretania could have other style selections of sofa's couches as well so she said you guys might want to check there as well. I am so happy I decided to check this location out. I had the best service. I was greeted and assisted by Andrea. She was so pleasant to work with. I told her exactly what I was in search of and she immediately pointed out furniture she thought I would like. If she didn't know the right answer, she doubled check and apologized if she gave incorrect information. My wife and I purchased a $3,000+ 5 piece sectional from Ashley Furniture. We have had the couch for less than two years and one of the frames is beginning to bow. We thought no big deal as it seems like a simple fix and we purchased an extended warranty along with Ashley Furniture's website stating a lifetime warranty. Come to find out CS WO is the franchisee for the stores in Hawaii and only cover any repairs for 1-year and the extended warranty they sold us for $300+ only covers stains from a 3rd party company in CANADA, who operates 6 hours ahead of HST and never returns your phone calls! Even their sales and customer service associates say its hard to get in touch with them... This company is ridiculous as they are charging a premium for their furniture and only cover 1-year of normal wear and tear on a piece of furniture that should last 5+ years. I could see if we had the couch for 7-years and they do not cover repairs but to say they can do nothing for a couch that we had for less than 2-years shows how much they actually care about customer service after they have your money. It was a relaxing Saturday morning. I'm driving home and I realize that there is an Ashley Homestore on the way...and I have been meaning to look at a platform for the bed and a coffee table for the new home. I decide to check this place out. I walk in and instantly saw what will turn out to be our future coffee table. I inspect the table and notice the price. Under $500. Not too bad. I walk around the bottom level and was greeted by Mercy. She was just seeing how I was doing and I let her know I was just browsing. What I appreciated was that she didn't push past that; she let me know that she would be around, explained the promotions available, and provided me a business card. The fact that she understood that I wanted to look around on my own was so nice. I knew that if I bought any furniture, I would buy it from her. A few days later, I come back with my boyfriend. We check out the pieces that caught my eye and decided to buy a platform bed, night stands, and a dining room set. I made sure that Mercy helped us. There were so many ways that Mercy provided us outstanding service: 1. She explained to us what a deal the delivery fee was - for $150, their delivery guys would deliver and install all the pieces, meaning they assemble. And its a flat fee. $150 for delivery of all the items on the invoice. She did let us know that the fee was a little higher for us because the platform bed was an oversized piece, but the fee was still under $200. 2. While ringing us up, we mentioned that we bought a couch from Red Knot, their sister company. Mercy was able to link our couch purchase to her order so that the couch would be delivered to us and installed for that same delivery fee. So altogether, we were paying for delivery of our new furniture for under $200. 3. Because we were having our floors redone, we couldn't have the furniture delivered as soon as it was on island. We weren't sure how long Ashley Furniture would hold onto the items. When asked, Mercy reassured us that they could hold onto it until we were ready to receive the items. 4. Due to changes in the dates of our flooring installs, we had to change the delivery dates multiple times. Each time I called to change the date, Mercy was always so gracious and understanding and would change it. While we can't afford to buy more furniture any time soon, the next time we need furniture (or any family or friends need new items), Mercy at Ashley Furniture will be my first stop. read more

Upon entry, we were cheerfully greeted by a sales associate who offered to show us around since this was the first time we had ever been into this store. She quickly gave us a short description of the layout of this 2-story store. After we mentioned what we were looking for, she led us to a section of the store while she introduced herself, Lila Uyeno. Yay, her name is similar to mine so it's easy to remember. We asked Lila about the origins of, upholstery care, color selection and availability of the living room furniture. She was upfront with the information and even provided us warranty information and an estimated timeline of delivery if we made a purchase. Ashley Furniture is part of the C.S. Wo Family of furniture stores so it provides local and national warranties like its sister stores. We did tell her that we were basically just browsing for now as she noticed that my husband had drawn a layout of our apartment complete with dimensions of furniture pieces we were looking for and we came "armed with" a tape measure. She left us to browse on our own but also made herself available to us. We really liked that Lila wasn't pushy or hovering over us. I needed a new couch, and I saw some advertisements for some nice stuff from Ashley online so I decided on a couch and went to go and buy it. Andrea helped me immediately when I walked in. Everyone there was friendly and greeted me right away. I can't understand why Ashley doesn't have a higher average rating. My experience was ALL positive! Furniture here is reasonably priced. There are fancier and more elegant furniture store, but this falls in my price range. I would suggest first skimming through their inventory online and then visiting the store to see the item in person. Also, notate the online price in case it is cheaper than what is at the store. Service here is exceptional! There was an issue with my order. They showed up at my home with the wrong item. The sales rep had punched in the incorrect sofa. They took ownership of the issue and cleared it up the same day. Also, waived the delivery fee for their return visit! Furthermore, the rep noticed a new discount for my sofa and applied it to my order! Their delivery drivers are careful! They took care to not damage the new furniture and were also equally careful to not damage my home. The big boys had a delicate touch. Ashley called later to follow up with me, checking on how the delivery went. Everything went perfectly! I purchased my 4 dining chairs from George back in December 2013. He up-sold me the extended warranty that would guarantee coverage up until 2018. Apparently the item was out of stock/back ordered until mid January 2014 (which we were not informed about until the day that our chairs were supposed to be delivered in December 2013). When we finally did receive our chairs, they weren't the ones that we ordered. We sent them back, received a new set a week later, to find that one had a big rip on the cushion and had to be sent back again for a new one. Well, it's been about a year and a half and 1 chair has already broke. I contacted Ashley Customer Service to which they stated that there was an outside company (Phoenix, located in Canada) that handled the warranty and I would have to process a claim with them. After about 1 month of back and forth phone calls and emails with Robin, Phoenix finally agreed to honor the extended warranty that I paid extra for and advised that all I would need to do is contact the store at which I purchased it from, to receive a replacement and then the warranty would be complete (no coverage thereafter). After contacting the store, Leila advised me that George no longer worked for the company and so they couldn't quite verify if I had used up my warranty as it seems as if someone may have processed the previous delivery discrepancies as warranty claims. She offered to pass this message on to the store manager, Jason, whom I've never received a call back from. I then contacted Ashley Customer Service back again to advise them that I had already placed a claim with Phoenix and all I wanted was a new chair to be delivered. Joanne & Jocelyn were gracious enough to set up a delivery date for next Thursday as they received the information from Phoenix as well. Mele on the other hand told me that there was nothing more that she could do for me and I would have to keep contacting the store for warranty claims, which led to all this back and forth stress to begin with. I'm hoping that the right chair gets delivered this time, in excellent condition, and that the rest will last for at least more than 5 years. Overall, just know that once you purchase your items from Ashley, you're on your own. Keep all your receipts, invoices and warranty claims as back-up! If you want to save yourself from all this trouble, don't purchase anything from Ashley to begin with. read more

I went to Ashley after having a horrible experience at Red Knot in Beretania. Mercy came out and helped me find a dresser....she was great! After purchasing a dresser from Red Knot then finding out that it wouldn't be in stock till January (after purchase was made) Mercy checked inventory for what was immediately available....it was surprisingly hard to find something I could have delivered right away! But she did, I was able to get a dresser & the whole process took less than 30 minutes! When I saw a female salesperson she walked by me and didn't even bother to say, "Good morning or Is there anything I can assist you with". No acknowledgement at all. My boyfriend and I had purchased a dresser with the Ashley Furniture store at this location the first week of January (2022). The salesperson had informed us that while they didn't currently have it in store, we would be receiving it within 2 weeks. I had made a comment like, "Oh, does it still need to be shipped out?" and he had said, "Actually, it's already in the dock here on the island. They literally just need to unload it and it'll probably be in store by the end of the week and to you guys within 2." We were very excited as we had just moved into our own place and were eager to finish furnishing it for the new year. Fast forward 2.5 weeks from our date of purchase and we had heard no updates. Now, this is not the first time we've purchased something through the company. We purchased our mattress/bed frame and living room set at the Aiea location. By this point, we understood how things worked - they'll call us when they get it and will set us up with the first available delivery date. However, because we were told it was ON ISLAND and just needed to be unloaded and brought to the store, we found it a little odd that we had not heard from the rep or the store. My boyfriend decided to call and was told that there was a delay and that the dresser would come in mid to end February. Naturally, we were disappointed as our whole purpose of purchasing a dresser the first week of January was to get it in as soon as possible, but we understood. We thought that maybe he accidentally told us that the dresser in the dock would be ours, but it actually belonged to someone else. Whoopsies. No biggie. We thanked them for the update and waited for mid to end February to roll around. Fast forward to the end of February and we heard no updates, again. This time, I gave the store a call and explained the situation. The lady I spoke with was very, very kind and told me that there was another delay and that it would not come in until mid to end March. She didn't want to promise me anything else but did ask for my number and that she would have our salesperson give us a call the next day. We received no call from the store the next day, nor any day for an entire month. I waited a whole month before calling again. My final call with the store ended with me in pure frustration and disappointment. The lady I spoke with this time had told us that our dresser would not come in until sometime between May and June and "that's what the lady you spoke with before told you." I had let her know that the previous worker I spoke on February 28th actually told me mid to end March. She then went on to explain that the store has no control over shipping and oh! Surprise! Our salesperson does not work with the company anymore. (Which would explain why we never received a follow up call after our second complaint). My intention was not to argue with the worker I last spoke with. I fully respect when someone has to say what is within their guidelines because they are doing their job. However, I felt very frustrated that I received no sympathy from this company. She repeated the same explanations over and over again. No apologies, just an, "I understand you're disappointed but we have no control over shipping. It happens all the time. It gets pushed back." When I had shared that I was frustrated with the lack of transparency and follow up, she had nothing to say. They made me feel like I was in the wrong and that I need to understand that things like this happen and that I just need to be patient. I was not looking for any freebies. I was simply wanting sincere customer service after spending a decent amount of money with the store. I hung up feeling defeated and feeling like I was a silly customer who had no business calling as many times as I did. I had seen another review from a customer who shared a similar experience back in February of 2020. I am disappointed that the company has not worked to improve this and to make sure that this experience didn't happen again for other customers. This is not the experience my boyfriend and I wanted to have with our new place. We lost the excitement of furnishing our home because of our experience with this store. We will be calling back to ask for a refund and will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Majority of my expertise here was extremely pleasant. We were greeted upon walking in and having been here a couple times before, they seem to has rotate who's in the front and take costumers as they walk in. On this occasion there was a guy sitting at a desk watching ppl intently but with very poor self awareness as I walked past him and here him in his ear set asking who's helping us and why we weren't being accompanied. Be more discreet if this is your procedure.. Bought a full living room set from Roger and couldn't be more pleased. He took the time to run through and show me various sets and dining room tables. Helped move lamps and end tables around to make sure what I purchased would be perfect at home. Not everything was on island and would take a couple deliveries but as that was out of my control would be a single fee. Great that works for me. I had concerns after reading multiple poor reviews about delivery team under CSWo but with all three of my deliveries I have zero complaints. 3 different crews and all were efficient and took great care. Talked story during all deliveries and every one of them were very professional and performed at their best. I would return for future purchases in a heartbeat. read more

So I've been here a few times for different things. Service was fine for me. I had people that instantly greeted me upon arrival and there would be one particular person that would help me. They weren't overly pushy and watched you. They gave me space and let me wander around but was there if I had any questions. They even gave me spec sheets for items that I wasn't sure of yet because I'm not great with visualizing spacing with nothing currently furnished yet. The best thing about this place is you can combine your order from Ashley and home world. It can be delivered all at once for one flat fee. A lot of the furniture here can be a little dated like the tv stands they had there was something probably my parents would buy. If you wanted something more modern and contemporary then you might have to think outside of the box and fine some kind of shelf or table. They had some nice bed frames too but it's limited in sizes. And again there's some dated items too so I guess you really have to look around... maybe circle 3x like I did. Lol. They had some cool coffee tables that lift up which is convenient and not badly priced but just the colors of the tables were hard to match with other items. Dressers was limited too. Some were better than others in quality. But I guess sizing didn't work out well for me. I really wanted to order everything at one place but it was a bit difficult to do. read more

I give Ashley Homestore 3 stars for their large selection of furniture and for the most part, quite affordable prices for the quality you get. As for customer service, it was really an experience... The salesperson that helped me (who I will leave unnamed) was knowledgeable in the products and made recommendations based off my needs. Which was great! But then he started talking off topic and wouldn't stop for over almost two hours! I really wanted to just close my sale, but he kept going on and on about the most random things. Like, it's very cute that his dog can count. But I really, really, just want to buy my bed frame and dresser and leave. Even when I tried to hint that I was ready to leave, he kept talking. It was exhausting. They did offer move in and assembly after hours, which was very convenient for us considering our bulky move in time was 6-8, later than most companies are willing to operate. However, on the day of, they only brought the bed frame and not the dresser. We were told it was out of stock. If it was out of stock, we should have been informed beforehand instead of told the day of... On another note, the men who moved in and assembled my furniture were terrible! Rude and incompetent. But, they're part of a different company so I won't ding Ashley's for that. Overall a bit of a difficult experience, but for the prices can't complain too much. read more

If anyone is looking for new furniture, more important than finding a store is finding someone who can help you choose what to buy. Andrea was outstandingly helpful. In less than a few hours, I was able to fully furnish my two bedroom apartment. She was extremely helpful, delightful and passionate about her job. Unlike many sales reps that I have worked with before, she was genuinely trying to assist me in making the BEST choice for furniture. She took into consideration my apartment's lay out, my budget, time frame in ordering furniture and all the other details that I wouldn't have recognized without her help. I think she is on the way to becoming store manager one day. I gave her 5 stars but in real life she is a 10. Go Andrea!!! read more

Best furniture shopping experience we've probably ever had. We live in a small apartment and we were looking for space saving furniture. We went to three different furniture stores before popping in to Apt. by HomeWorld and boy do we wish we stopped here first. Denise was amazing from the start. She greeted us when she saw us walking around and came to find us when she freed up to see how she could help. Most sales reps will answer specific questions but Denise went above and beyond to not just answer questions but to also sit down with us to actually find pieces that fit our needs that we're not on display. She helped us put the order in, arrange delivery, and just truly went above and beyond to provide an amazing experience. The next time we're in need of any furniture, we're definitely going back to Apt. and working with Denise. Highly Recommend! read more

We need to furnish the entire 4BR new house. Home World seems to have the largest selections. We started an online chat and Denise responded. It turned out to be our best experience for furniture shopping. Denise was detail-oriented and proactive. She always put our interest in mind and made herself available. She got a good taste of style and design and gave us excellent recommendations about furniture and decorations. She was also very patient with us and always maintained a welcoming attitude. She helped us coordinate the deliveries as not all furniture is available at the same time. We couldn't get the work done without her help and we are extremely happy with the outcome. I had the most difficult time with this very poor quality furniture store, employing the lowest IQ people and delivery service. 50% of the furniture delivered was defective. The 1st delivery, the delivery person asked us to help him with the furniture because it was too heavy- we paid $130 for delivery service! In addition, he didn't have the tools to open boxes and had to borrow ours. The lamp we ordered, the first time, they forgot the shades and told us they will not assemble it. Second time, they came with the shades said the lst guys should have assembled it , only to find out the lamp does not work, and the shades were damaged. It was such a pain to deal with Ashley furniture to get those defective furniture exchanged, as they use a separate company to deal with exchanges, and a separate company to deliver the furniture. In essense, our sales man, Jim C., and the store manager all said: There isn't anything they can do, call this other company. But this other company does not answer the phone, and doesn't return calls! Jim C. also gave the wrong address for delivery, and of course, as low IQ as they are, they never learned to put the right address on their file after I told them the right address several times! Jim C. answered our phone calls in the beginning of our troubles, but said there is nothing he can do, it is out of his control. Well if selling defective furniture is within Jim C.'s control, but exchange them is out of Jim C.'s control (after Jim C. have received his commission), then good luck with Jim C.'s unethical business practice! The 3rd time, after a week of persistent calling, two guys came with a new lamp and a none wobbly coffee table, but where are the lamp shades? Well, they forgot again! So they had to sent someone out again to give the shades. Fourth time, two delivery guys called and asked where I am, only for me to find out they were given the wrong address by Jim C. AGAIN! and after hours of waiting, they got here, and gave me the lamp shades. I opened them- 2 out of 3 were damaged! STUPID-For making the same mistake over and over and never learned form them! I will never go to this STUPID store again! read more

I recently was in the market for some reasonably priced but good furniture and decided to come to Ashley Ward Ave location since it is near my office and easy to get to, I was approached by Mercy and I explained to her what I was thinking of for my condo which I was renovating, Mercy is absolutely the BEST! She knew exactly what I was in the market for and also helped me find a few other items from the other Ashley stores which weren't in stock at the Ward location! She is a breath of fresh air. Not your average "salesperson" , very professional and knows every item in her store , and then some! If Mercy's manger is reading this , Give that woman a raise!! It was a great shopping experience with Andrea! We walked in and was greeted. We told her we were looking for a couch and she took us around patiently from the first floor to the second floor. She patiently talked and walked with us as we tried certain couches that interest us. She was friendly and answered our questions. She wasn't pushy like we've experienced with other salespeople. She gave us our space. She was also so sweet with my girls. It ended up feeling like we were talking with family. The couch and love seat we bought was a great addition to our living room. We went in on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It was a bit busier than usual, but we were patient and waited for the crowd to thin out. I had done a lot of research beforehand so I was pretty sure on the handful of items I was interested in and wanted to see them in person. The saleswoman kept directing us to use the touchpad screen that showed their entire catalogue online (which I had already researched). I was pretty disappointed because I wanted to see the actual items I was interested in, in the showroom. The selection in the showroom was pretty substantial but the saleswoman continued to push for the touchpad screen catalogue. She kept saying she would get pricing or check availability on things and be right back. After waiting around multiple times and having to find her in the store, in addition to her overall lack of interest in actually helping us, we opted to leave. I'm really bummed we didn't get a better opportunity to work with the team here. I'm hopeful that we will have a better experience here in the future! read more

I totally recommend this furniture store, they have good quality furniture and great prices! When My husband and I first came into the store we were greeted by a very nice gentlemen and then we were assisted by DENISE, she has been the best customer service I have encountered in a very long time anywhere. Not only was she very professional, but she was very nice, and really knowledgeable, she even taught me a thing or two about leather. We made a purchase, in which DENISE made sure we got the best deal. We were so happy with the whole experience that we will be going back to purchase more furniture. read more
