Whenever I'm wandering around Kaimuki, I like to check out the cute little shops in the area. Small Kine Gift is very unique and different featuring a lot of fun small items. I don't think you go into this shop looking for something. I feel like the items pick you. Some are a bit expensive for their size. but I think the uniqueness and experience help this place out. Small Kine Slay has become even more slay with the addition of a Photo Booth in their store. Limit is one photo per person. The Photo Booth looks like a mini tv with a touch option on the screen to take your picture. The photo comes out as a cute colored Polaroid. I definitely need a pic with my bestie Diesel next time I see him. Service was friendly and fun as always LOL. I like looking at all the snack options and cute Knick-knacks I can add to my collection. read more

I happened in for "Keep it Kaimuki" Saturday and was genuinely delighted by this cute and funky gift shop. Unique selection of local gifts at affordable prices. Shopping fun in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii... Small Kine Gift was a super cool experience! It's located on the same block as Chillest Shave Ice, so visit both businesses since you found parking already! This store has novelty items and amusing, nostalgic gifts! I got a lei for my sister because it not only has unique candies and a flocked brown bear, but also has a coupon for $1.05 wrapped around the finger trap toy! Check out the Chinese medicine chest! I challenge you to open each drawer! There's a surprise in each one! In a glass jar, there were blind packages of Labuutleg charms! Very kawaii! I'll have to open them and post later... remind me! Such a cute little hidden gem in Kaimuki! Small Kine Gift is perfect if you're looking for little knick knacks for yourself or as gifts. I believe it's relatively a new store since I haven't seen it before. They have everything from notebooks to random fun toys. I got a little keychain for $6 because the dog looked just like my dog! If you've ever been to Archie McPhee's in Seattle, this place has the same fun vibe right here in Honolulu! It's a small little shop packed full of fun stuff. Located on Waialae Ave, next to Public Pet and right across the street from Punchbowl Fender Works. The neatest thing is that chest of many small drawers containing different tiny toys such as mini chattering teeth, miniature slinkys, tiny rubber hands. It was so fun going thru each drawer. There were funky keychains, bags of snacks and books. If you are looking for fun and different things for parties, check this place out! If you're not in the market for anything, check it out anyway! Was in the neighborhood from getting some coffee and shopping for other things and I came across this cute shop. So many items are so nostalgic and the sweet gentleman behind the cash register was funny and sweet. The store is small but spacious and it had a bunch of everything. Gift ideas galore as well as snacks and fun things. The price point for things were great and you find some really hard to find things. We went there to look for a graduation Lei. There was no street parking so I dropped my wife off infront the store. Went around the block a couple of times. Decided to park in the XO restaurant parking lot. Signage in the store warns of parking there. I didn't get to go in, but my wife did pick up a lei. She said that the gentleman that helped her was informative and gave here a few suggestions. At this store they have a selection of lei from Enjoy Snacks. Big Kine Fun... Love this new shop in Kaimuki right beside Public Pet as from the storefront doesn't prepare you for what they have available within their walls. Walking in you already feel the vibe here is just fun and festive with a kadomatsu to welcome the new year and bright vibrant rainbow with a disco ball hanging from the ceiling. Browsing around I feel the nostalgia with vintage vibe in the various merchandise along with the local flair that we love is mixed in everywhere from the fūsen gum I grew up eating along with fun stickers that's too cute to use while seeing socks you could wear along with your slippers is genius as get you start your chilly morning with it on that can be removed once it starts to heat up sounds like my kinda vibe. The lei wall threw me for a wow moment and took my breath away, some of the items I did find are quite pricey though this carefully crafted shop does offer a lot of unique find and love that they have it all in one place making it a very big kine fun. Cute little shop that has a bunch of fun kick knacks, books, ice cream and more. My husband and I bought a few stickers to give to our friends, we liked the KINE and CHEEEEHUUU stickers. They sell a variety of funny home goods and books, but also smaller items like trinkets and local snacks. I love that I can come here to buy a nice coffee table book, or spend under $5 on stickers or a silly keychain charm. Small Kine Gift is new on the block but has already become one of my favorite spots to shop. From art to books, to quirky trinkets and fun snacks. I've been in a few times, even coming in on their first day and every time I come in there's new stuff to browse. Most recently they brought out their Chinese herb cabinet packed with little trinkets -- I picked up a mini measuring tape keychain. Every drawer is a different little trinket and I had so much fun opening (most of) the drawers and discover what was inside. One of my bigger purchases from here was a book on Arts and Crafts of Hawai'i. This was a book that I remember seeing in my tutu's house-- which just goes to show that you can find a gift for anyone and everyone here. In this store it's so easy to spend $500 on a couple things or $20 and walk out with the same number of things. This is just a happy space with happy people who know how to curate a vibe. read more

New shop to the Kaimuki neighborhood located right next to the Public Pet. If you remember, this spot used to be a cat cafe. There's street parking along Waialae and as long as it is not a weekend, it is pretty open right in front of the store. This store is all kinds of gifts in one place. Although, if you have seen posts on social media, it is a MUST place to visit whether that being you live here, you're visiting, or if you moved away from home. Walking in, you're greeted with warmth by the workers. Overall, the feel of this place invokes so many memories I had growing up. My kids and I walked past this store one day, and it just screams magic! We didn't have time to stop in, but today we finally had a free day and the number one thing they wanted to do was come to Small Kine Gift. Let me tell you, it was the coolest, cutest, and fun store to be in! We had the pleasure of being there when Adam (who we did not know at the time is the owner) was working. And I am NOT exaggerating, when I say that he was the most amazing, kind, and patient human we have encountered in a store. He made my kids feel welcome, and they were so excited to explore all of the things in each drawer of the coolest apothecary table!! They each picked out a slot machine keychain - which cost $7.77 and are in drawer 77! Too cute right?! They also found some other really fun items, and are so excited to visit the store (and see Adam - who they couldn't stop talking about all day afterwards) again! Shopping at Small Kine Gift is a really pleasant experience; walking in you can tell how much thought went into every detail of the store from decoration to the curated selection. I appreciate the mix of artsy (local and national) items, Hawaiian specific goods, Japanese imports, books, and fun snacks. It also doesn't hurt that the owners are friendly real humans that don't give off the typical "MUST MAKE A SALE" vibe and instead will have a conversation or just let you browse. Such a fun, silly little shop. It's kind of like if there was a store of all the stuff at the arcade prize counter under the glass. Not the big stuffed animals or lava lamps, but the weird little toys and trinkets and candies. I got some keychains and japanese candies I can never seem to find, a little rubber man in his underwear, ect. They also had some local artist wares that I actually really liked and spend If you're in Kaimuki, theres really no reason not to stop in here for some smiles and individual candies at the very least. read more
