    Strawberry croffle & honey matcha

Plantoem is a great place to relax, read a book and enjoy a nice drink with friends or solo. Every time I'm in the area I think about their matcha and decide to pop in. Today I tried the croffle with Nutella and strawberries... delish!! The energy and good vibes of this shop give a sense of calmness in the middle of a busy day

Plant or coffee lover? This is THE place! Looked for a coffee spot at the closest Leonard's bakery and found this gem. They have a parking area that's slightly hard to find but it's located in between two buildings where you drive up to the second floor and there's complimentary parking! The front of the shop is a plant lovers' dream! You're greeted by all sorts of potted plants and as you go deeper, they have a merch area, two different seating areas and the counter to order your coffee and pastries. One area was full so I went to their "sip and chill" area behind the counter and it was so peaceful. I got their Osmanthus Cappuccino and it was really good! They added cute latte art and tiny flower petals as a garnish. I would absolutely love to come back here!

Great quiet cafe to get some work done! You are greeted with beautiful plants (purchasable!) at the front and towards the back is the cafe! It is pet friendly! I recommend their Osmanthus Pear Pot tea! It is very floral and calming. There are two seating areas: a 90min workspace and an are towards the back where it is electronic free zone! Both seatings require at least a drink purchase. This cafe's ambiance will set you in a mood to focus on your work and relaxed at the same time.

This was a beautiful, cozy cafe tucked behind a plant shop. I had lots of fun looking at the plants, then I ordered my drink. I tried the Hojicha Maple Latte and it was amazing. Toasted and a little sweet. I settled into the Tech-Free zone in the back of the cafe and enjoyed the ambiance. They have open windows with a nice draft. Loved it here!

I felt like I was in the Garden of Eden. Exotic plants and coffee! The locally owned cafe is cozy with lots of natural wood. A seating area for people working or using devices is on one side and a separate seating area is for people that want to socialize or relax. There is a modern upscale heady vibe. The staff is friendly at the coffee bar. We ordered a Honey Matcha Latte, which took about 5 minutes to prep. My latte was good. I also picked up a banana bread piece for my granddaughter from a small case of pastries. There were no prices and the small bread ended up close to $8. The bread was very dense, but good. I felt that it was way overpriced. Be sure to ask prices of the pastries before committing. We sat a high top table that overlooked the street below. My granddaughter was a bit cantankerous and board. It's really not a place that is kid friendly. But it is a good place for a date. The plants are absolutely beautiful. Colorful air-plants were in bloom. Again, the plants were very pricy, but they were incredibly healthy and perfect. Empty pots started at $40. A spectacular cluster of blooming air-plants that I wanted was $38. The place is up a steep ramp behind a building and there is parking. We parked on the street below and walked up.

Performative this, performative that, respectfully, yall just don't perform how I perform. How I perform is unlike any other performance you've ever seen. I move like Michael Phelps in Beijing, LeBron in Cleveland, Woods in the Masters, Curry and Biles in Paris. Never doubt my ability to perform at a high level. This is a great cafe. The matcha is great, no clumps, and made by people I aspire to be. The interior is super sittable and chillable, we spent a smooth 2 hours here reading plant literature regarding Brutalism (shoutout Geisel Library) and staring yearningly out the window.

Suck a cute space! When you walk in there are plants EVERYWHERE! And exotic looking ones that are just perfect! I was in the mood for a matcha latte and got their honey matcha latter, while my coworker got the black sesame latte. I thought the matcha was good, just enough sweetener but could do with more matcha taste. Make sure to check out their baked items as well. Wish we could have stayed longer cause the vibe was very appealing.

This review is for their cafe. I've been to this cute shop twice. Once was to check out the plants and enjoy some hot tea. I ended up not buying any plants, although they have a vast selection of beautiful species, I could not bring to purchase myself considering the price. But I do love that they have a small little cafe in the back corner. Their hot tea was nice, nothing special to me. The second time I came back was to complete a stamp on my matcha map. I got their matcha latte with oat milk and to my surprise their matcha was delicious! I wasn't expecting much from a plant shop, especially since I haven't heard much talk of the shop's matcha drink, but this lowkey cafe made it on my list of delicious and strong matcha lattes! Probably top 5!!

This place brings a whole new meaning to the word vibe. It's like a cafe in an exotic jungle, pumping oxygen into your body and giving you energy and life. I absolutely love the glass cups and straws, it's so pretty and so much better than plastic or paper straws. Drinks are delicious. I come on the weekday mornings so have never experienced a crowd. Yes it is very hidden in a plaza with a turn on ramp that is nearly invisible. First time I came here I had to circle around the block three times, but it was truly worth it. Plants are very pricey, but I still bought it, haha.

It is located on the second floor up the parking ramp. The inside is quite big and the cafe takes about half the space. The plants are so gorgeous to look at. Hawaiiano ($7) doppio espresso, vanilla and coconut water. It was definitely a good drink on a hot day. The coconut water really is for the sweetness as the coffee is all you taste.

My first time trying this place, and I loved it. My friend and I went to the plant sale that they were having, and I absolutely adored this place. It's such a cute cozy spot with really relaxing music.. a really great place for studying or working too!

My first time here. There is limited seating so good luck. The back is reserved for people chilling and talking which is nice. I came to study so I found a seat by the window to the left. The WiFi is super slow so while I wait I will type up a review. Holy cow my Hojicha maple latte is so ONO!! I got it iced in this pretty little cup with a glass straw. They have parking in the back, however it's limited. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My WiFi connection finally came up, but it's too slow with this many people here. If I ever come here again I will bring my hotspot since there is a 90 minute limit for seating and I doubt I'm going to get my homework done at this rate. The plants are plentiful and I will probably take one home if they are for sale. One more thing if you get hot easily dress comfortably. There is no air conditioning which didn't bother me, but it looks like they keep it this way for the keikis.., the plants lol. I would come here again better prepared with hot spot and probably in the morning would be best.

Plantoem had the BEST, strongest matcha latte on island, until my recent visit - my matcha latte was super milky, weak matcha taste. Seems like they changed their recipe. Sooo bummed! Hibiscus tea is yummy

It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!

When they're not blooming, she complains, but doesn't water the plants extra nor give them fertilizer. I'm the kind of person who will do something to make her happy. After several suggestions to mom about fertilizer, I went to Ko'olau Farmers on Beretania Street and got a bag of fertilizer. This store has been around for a very long time. It's a locally owned name with another location in Kaneohe! I read the labels and asked the cashier if the one I selected would be good for heliconias... He said that this mix will force the plant to bloom. It won't necessarily get greener. Perfect! I can't wait to see the results!

Both Kevin and Susan Mulkern really listened to our wishes, but also provided suggestions and insights from their years of experience. It was a continual negotiation of ideas (throughout the process, they never stopped listening to our ideas or confirming that we were happy with what was being done). As a result, we are elated with how our yard looks and continues to evolve. And so far, it has been taking us around 2-4 person-hours per week for the two of us to keep it maintained. For us, this is very doable, and we're finding that, because the yard looks so great, it's enjoyable as well. Kevin's sense of humor is from left field (or perhaps from outside the stadium altogether), so we laughed a lot and enjoyed being kept on our toes to get one of his asides. This made the process fun. Another thing we really appreciated about Kevin was his respect and appreciation for his employees. Not a day passed without him telling them "Thank you" for doing tasks right or for asking questions to confirm that they knew what to do. The fact that he cares enough about his employees to let them know that he appreciates them is yet another reflection on the professionalism of Mulkern Landscaping. He was also very creative about ways to save us money, including using existing plugs of grass to re-establish the lawn. The plugs looked to us like little chunks of dead grass, and we could not imagine that they would ever turn green, let alone fill out the whole lawn area, but it has only been a few months and we now have a full and beautiful lawn! Likewise, some of the plants were "babies" when planted (another money-saver), but they are growing taller and filling out really well. Kevin also went beyond the call of duty. For example, he noticed that one of the neighbor's trees was leaning well over into our space and shedding leaves and twigs onto our roof (up to that point we were regularly pruning back the tree on our side of the fence). He asked my permission to talk with the neighbor about it, and found out that the neighbor wouldn't mind having the tree removed but didn't want to pay to have it done. Kevin had his crew remove the tree, at no extra cost to us and at no charge to the neighbor. Even though the work (and contract) ended, Kevin still stops by from time to time to make sure everything looks good and to see if we have any new questions or concerns. In short, I enthusiastically recommend Mulkern Landscaping & Nursery.

And it was nice to not need to wait around for the shipper to deliver. We were flying out of Honolulu Monday evening for a Thursday afternoon wedding in June in western Minnesota...and we were on a completely different route from our daughter and her boyfriend...arriving 9 hours later so needed to check in on flower care...quite a big goal for flower transport. Understanding that fragrant flowers typically don't last as long as non fragrant flowers, we asked Lou for her recommendations for fragrant lei for a pre-wedding get together and longer lasting lei for the ceremony. Lou suggested triple tuberose for the night before and double ginger for their wedding day plus a dainty haku for the flower girl. With our daughter arriving in town earlier she assured us the lei looked fantastic and were promptly refrigerated but we forgot to check which shelf and what the fridge temperature setting was. Next day checked in with daughter and she said mom the flowers are a little icy and kinda see thru: P.a.n.i.c...we rushed to the hotel and looked at the flowers and called Lou. Lou calmly gave us clear directions on how to safely reduce moisture, which flowers want to be dry which ones moist, proper temp setting and optimal location and storage. We laughed that we felt like we were on a Flower 911 call and Lou was our hero dispatcher. Hours later, flowers looked lovely, at least for having traveled 4000 miles plus a couple of days. Everyone loved the lei. The fragrance was beautiful and the tuberose lei made it the extra day until the Thursday wedding which was a lucky bonus! Working with Jr Lou & T was a pleasure. I'd called other companies and the shipping schedule was complicated, one company said they'd most likely substitute a lei we didn't want. Jr Lou & T came in at a lower total than the competition, their lei had prettier ribbons and fern embellishments than the others, Lou was confident we'd get the flowers we selected (of course with flowers you're dealing with nature but it was reassuring to hear her optimism and I'm sure any unforeseen substitution would've been handled more professionally than the other company had described), and here's the icing on the cake: * They lovingly added in a little wristlet for the flower girl, which she loved * Our final total came in at slightly lower than their already competitive price. One or two items plus the packing charge ended up being lower than originally quoted They provided us the approximate dimensions of the box a day in advance so we were able to pack a check in suitcase with packing cubes of other belongings to fit around the flower box. The box had the proper agricultural stamps and our daughter said they weren't asked to open their suitcase, it went right through!! Mahalo Jr Lou & T, we'll be back!!

I initially chose a different florist, but as the process unfolded, I began to have doubts. I decided to keep looking and ultimately found Plant Hawaii--and I'm so glad I did! Working with Scot and the entire team was an incredible experience from start to finish. They were excellent communicators, truly listened to our vision, and created stunning inspiration boards that perfectly captured our theme. What stood out most was how collaborative and transparent the entire process felt. Their online portal was fantastic. It clearly showed each floral request, counts, inspiration photos, and costs. Their suggestions were beautiful and thoughtful. In addition, they were upfront about pricing every step of the way. These are two very important things to consider when selecting a florist. First, having an online portal made it incredibly easy to make adjustments together and immediately see changes reflected in the proposal. Second, clarity around flowers and pricing felt surprisingly difficult when speaking with other florists. Plant Hawaii stood out because they were so clear, organized, and transparent by comparison. On the wedding day, Scot and his team arrived and immediately jumped into action. As a planner, coordinating vendors can be stressful, but Plant Hawaii needed no direction. They built a breathtaking ceremony arch, placed all aisle and reception florals, handed me the bride's bouquet, and made sure I knew exactly where all the leis were. Everything was seamless and effortless. Florals truly set the tone for a wedding, and Plant Hawaii delivered the most jaw-dropping tropical Hawaiian arrangements. The bride envisioned a sunset palette, and the team quite literally painted a sunset sky with flowers. Their attention to detail, artistry, and love for what they do showed in every single element. This site eventually became the City Mill location we know today. For residents in the immediate neighborhoods, this City Mill has a magnet draw for your hardware needs. They have decent sales and the staff is friendly and usually pretty knowledgable. They have a good selection of items for your hardware needs whether it be paint, tools, bathroom or kitchen fixtures, etc. They have a decent amount of parking, but it can get challenging at times. If in the Kaimuki area, definitely a place to check out for tour hardware needs.

What better way to support local, then to shop during their anniversary! Today I came in for a roll of weed blocker fabric. To my surprise, they had a variety to choose from. Medium, heavy, premium 3', or premium 4' wide on a 50' roll. I purchased the 50' roll that is 3' wide and have plenty enough to use around our backyard. In the past, I've been able to find a number of items, simply because the aisles are well labeled with signage. Shelves are stocked neatly. And if I can't find something, I normally encounter a friendly customer service specialist, eager to help me :) I especially appreciate the native Hawaiian plants that are available for sale in the garden section. It is so important that we are not planting invasive things that are detrimental to our unique island. Plant pono! Thank you City Mill for having such a convenient location, with lots of free parking, and an incredible team of employees that have always been helpful to me! Super thankful you're in my neighborhood :)
