First timer here! My friend recommended this place since she knows I'm a matcha and caffeine lover! It's a cute little spot in downtown Honolulu. Parking can be tricky as it's primarily street parking, but they do have a few municipal parking garages nearby. We came on a weekday so finding street parking wasn't a problem. I tried the iced golden hour matcha- which included my favorite ingredients .. matcha, espresso and a touch of honey! Delicious! My barista Lance was so kind and friendly! Also, bonus bonus bonus points for being dog friendly!! They even have a photo wall of all the pups that visited. Perfect little spot to catch up with friends! I came in at 1pm and they were out of matcha even though closing is at 4pm. The barista also told me she was low on beans and didn't know how much more espresso she could pull... Very disappointed considering this is my first time. The barista ended up being able to make an Americano and latte for me, however the latte was very milk forward not a good ratio of milk and espresso, must be because the was low on beans but okay. The ambiance here is great though! A very picturesque place! There are also cameras on two tables available and they tend to post it on their instagram which I find so cute! There are also books available if you want to read. Overall, very interactive spot and would've been a better experience if more drink options were available today. Located in Chinatown, Hello Again is a cute and tiny coffee shop. There is parking on the street and in lots around Chinatown. There are some tables inside and a counter to order drinks at. The interior is mostly white with a bunch of cute decorations. There are some tables facing the wall, which seem to be good little study nooks with outlets. The other tables are in the middle and others on the other side of the shop. There are some tote bags, books, pictures, and more around. We felt this gave the place an eclectic and cute feeling to it. The menu has some options and did not feel overwhelming. There were some neat options on the menu such as the Tiramisu Latte and some matchas like the Golden Hour matcha. I decided to get the Strawberry Bonbon drink, which was espresso, chocolate, and strawberry. It was this or the Golden Hour matcha, but the matcha would be about $10 for a small. The Strawberry Bonbon was good! It was like a chocolate covered strawberry in a drink. The owner was also very nice, and talked story for a bit while making the drinks. We were in Chinatown and my hubby wanted to try this place out. He loves coffee. This place was new to me. It was quaint and cozy. I loved the decor. We shared the medium Golden Hour Matcha (premium matcha, espresso, honey) $10.50. It was amazing. It had honey on the bottom of the cup and honey walls. The espresso was on the bottom and topped with matcha. I've never tasted anything like it. My hubby didn't really care for it, but I really liked it. Kept passing Hello Again whenever I drive down Nuuanu so I finally made it in to try a matcha drink. It's a narrow space but the interior has several small tables with a cute, hip decor. The menu is brightly displayed on screens and includes collaborations with local foodies. I opted for the matcha banana bread latte. The young lady serving explained it has a cinnamon flavor but that wasn't off putting for me. The large was $10 and you can choose between oat or cow milk. It looked really good with a deep green hue and drizzled syrup on the walls. The matcha flavor was strong, the cinnamon flavor light, but the banana was disappointingly artificial tasting. There's tons of coffee shops in Chinatown now but what makes this one stand apart from Others in the area? There was a previous coffee shop in this location but maybe it didn't do well since there wasn't a lot of people that knew about it. Hello again is the opposite and supposedly known for no tipping policy and for it being the least expensive. Or so I thought anyway?? I ordered a small iced latte which I assumed was $5.25 on the menu but my total charge was $6? Taste wise - it was basically a watered down coffee and nothing special. I rather just pay the same price and go to starbucks or pono potions a street down. If you have small kids and use a stroller then it is not very easy since there's another step up and you'd have to pull open the door both ways. It's also very tight in there so you wouldn't really be able to maneuver in there. Hello Again is one of my favorite coffee shops! When I first discovered this place, I thought it was such a vibe! A very cute and cozy coffee shop. I've tried a few of their drinks from here such as the tiramisu latte and some of their flavored matcha lattes. The tiramisu latte is my favorite because of how rich and chocolately it is! Their matcha lattes are pretty good as well with a good matcha flavor but sometimes I feel like they can add a little more flavoring/syrup when you get one of the flavored ones since it may taste a little light. The blueberry one is nice! Overall, the drinks are pretty good and the baristas are friendly so it's definitely worth to check out! A different customer waiting for her drink told me the ordering line was empty. This was followed by me standing in the correct line while she kept fiddling with a camera. Ok fine. Then I was about to order, she cut me off to AGAIN help the couple figure out the camera to take a picture of a dog. Finally, as I'm about to order again, she turns to the couple again to tell them they had turned off the camera instead of taking the picture. Honestly at this point I should have walked out, but I wanted to try the cereal killer matcha. Drinks: I got 2 drinks. The Americano was very watered down and not very good, but the cereal killer? THAT was terrible. I paid over $11 for this drink and it was grainy, bitter, and just not at all worth the money. What's crazy is it doesn't even taste like bitter matcha it just tastes bitter. I know parking can be an issue in downtown but I came in around 9am and found parking right away in the front. The staff/owner? was very welcoming and friendly. I loved the vibe of the place.. it felt very comforting and relaxed. They have some cubicles which would be a great work spot. I ordered their iced matcha latte with oatmilk (they only have oat or whole) and sweetened with honey. The nice thing is they do add a lot of matcha and it was very strong green color. Some of the new drinks I've enjoyed are the strawberry bon bon and the salted caramel. The iced strawberry bon bon is my 2nd favorite with the iced mocha still being #1. They upgraded their AC so now it's nice and cool inside and the door stays closed. There's a fun little sticker on their door that says, "push it real good." LOL! For workspace, they have these modern and beautiful wood slats against the wall and spaces that seat 1 person; there are 4 of these. They still have the round tables with comfy chairs. This coffee shop is dog friendly so bring them in because Lance loves dogs. There's 1 table with 2 chairs outside in front of the shop so you can hang out there if no seats inside. Overall, this is a chill place to hang out in and have coffee. On Sundays, the metered street parking is free so if you see a stall on Nuuanu Ave, stop by for your caffeine fix. read more

I took a detour and decided to stop at Hello Again in China town! I walked in, cafe was empty but the barista still had the biggest smile as he greeted me. I didn't get to take pictures but there were about 2-4 seats that had their own charging stations - great for students or professionals on the go/break. I went with the baristas recommendation and got his favorite, the Mac Attack! I got it iced with oat milk. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet. (Note: you can ask for your drink to be less sweet if you would like. Just tell your barista ahead of time!) There is meter parking along Nuuana Ave/throughout China town/private lots. I ordered the Chit-Chat Matcha and my boyfriend ordered a Strawberry Bonbon. Til' we meet again... Yup after a long detox of coffee especially they have yet to add Matcha to their menu it was the Iced Mocha that I've heard so much about that I had to give them a try. I've been wanting to try this place for a while after hearing many good reviews about it and I was unfortunately disappointed. The parking situation isn't good but also it's in downtown so that isn't necessarily surprising. The interior of the cafe itself is very cute and aesthetic, I'd definitely come here to do some work if I was in the area. The service was good, no complaints there. My main issue with this place was their drinks. It seems like they're known for having pretty strong matcha lattes and what my friends and I got was the complete opposite of that. I ordered a BBL matcha (banana bread latte) and my friends ordered a mac nut matcha latte and the blueberry matcha latte. Flavoring wise, the syrups all tasted exactly like what they were supposed to. The matcha on the other hand was non-existent. We all collectively agreed that there was no matcha flavor present whatsoever and our drinks just tasted like flavored milk. My friend has been here multiple times previously and she said that their drinks aren't normally this watered down so I'm hoping I just came on a bad day. Located on the Diamond Head side of Nuuanu Ave, between Pauahi and N Hotel Street, HA is currently in its soft opening stage where they are offering coffee drinks at "reasonable" prices daily from 9am to 2pm. How "reasonable" you ask? Price ranges from $3 to $6.50 with surcharges of $0.50 (iced) or $1 (whole milk, oat milk, syrup, organic honey). Shout out to Auntie (aka Nadine C.) who has been stalking me. She earlier pointed out that I've been to HA 3x and still yet have written a review. Auntie can be blunt and I was speechless when she pointed out this fact as she sent me a text. You see, I really wanted to try the iced mocha but HA was sold out. HA is a very simple, but trendy and bright shop that offers amazing customer service. Each visit, Khadija assisted me and remembered my name from my 2nd visit. Impressive. I've had 3 different drinks so far where my favorite is the iced hazelnut latte with whole milk. It had just the right flavor for me with no sweetness that reminds me of candy or dessert. The iced mocha was indeed tasty but too sweet for my palate. Customer service here is top notch. Both Khadija and Lance offered great customer service from start to end. My last visit I ordered 2 drinks to go and was offered a cup holder and Lance opened the door for me as I was also holding serval bags that contained 10 piroshki that I picked up from Fort Street Mall earlier. Overall, HA is a great addition to Chinatown. I was informed they will be adding matcha in the future, where I will be sure to return once available. Despite the great customer service, there is no tipping here - you don't have the option to add tip when paying via card and there's no tip jar at the counter. Next time you're in the Chinatown area, make your way over to HA and grab a drink that won't break the bank. read more
