    Strawberry milk matcha

A lot of people have been raving about Yame Matcha House and I see why! Whenever I pass by there's a long line, but it's not too bad. I ordered the strawberry milk matcha, super delicious! The matcha was super fresh and had a nice flavor that shined through even with the side flavors of the strawberry milk and foam. The wait wasn't too bad either. I recommend to anyone on UH campus! It's a little stand by the crosswalk from Zone 20.

I finally tried yame matcha!!! I seen that they were inside of UH MANOA and I was around the area so I went! I'm glad I did because it was worth it! I got the banana dream matcha. Soooo good! It had banana cream & cookie crumbs on the top. I gave it a 7.5/10 a little sweet but I still could taste the matcha at the end. More so of the banana cream. The service was good. They were friendly.

Today was the first time trying their amazing matcha latte drinks. I used the word "drinks" (plural) because after having their original Yame Latte, I had to try another drink, their Salted Caramel! I recommend their delicious Matcha Lattes!

Yame is a region in Fukuoka where their matcha is know for a nutty flavor. Different regions in Japan have different climates, thus making the taste of matcha grown in that area distinct. I saw this place as a pop-up at Ala Moana and decided to give it a try. All of their drinks are $7-8 which is a decent price. If you pay in cash it is a little cheaper. When I got there they were out of the strawberry, mango, and banana matchas. I got the salted caramel latte. I make my own matcha at home and I have a lot of critiques for the preparation of the drink. First off, the matcha taste was VERY light, tasted like milk, and had no salted caramel flavor to it. The only hint to salted caramel was a small dollop of cream with caramel drizzle on top. I was very disappointed in the preparation of the drink. They just added everything to a blender bottle and shook it up. Big mistake. I understand that there needs to be some quickness to matcha businesses, but the drink really would have benefited from sifting the matcha before hand. I could see chunks of matcha settled to the bottom of my cup and also floating at the top. Additionally, I believe the matcha flavor would be enhanced if they were to use warm water to whisk the matcha powder. This brings out the flavor better. I know this review might seem a little harsh, but I hope these tips help them to create a better matcha.

I was really excited to try this place but was dissapointed when I took my first sip. The matcha was grainy and thick. Definitely not as smooth as I was expecting for a matcha latte. Aside from the grainy matcha, the overall strawberry and matcha flavors worked well together. This was only my first time trying this place so I'd be willing to give their matcha another try.

Yame is a city in Kyushu... So this is the origin of their matcha is from and lucky us to have it here in Hawai'i...well Waikiki to be exact. Every Monday Waikiki Beach Walk has an Open Market from 4pm-8pm and I was so excited to see that Yame Matcha House is a regular there and just had to give them a visit. This cute little market does have about 7-8 vendors but no seating but does have such a fun vibe. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love all things matcha and scanning their menu with six choices from latte, caramel, mango cloud just to name a few it was "Yuzu Refresher" that instantly got my attention as I'm obsessed with yuzu and gosh they didn't disappoint and was the best yuzu drink I've ever had as it was definitely there along with the matcha was just the perfect sip but as each drink is crafted it does take a moment of creativity. Follow them on instagram @yamematchahouse for some discount offers and you know I'll be back because I saw the new item right below the menu "Brown Sugar Banana Matcha"...omg! Thank you!

During this pop-up, trial period, 3-courses are $128, tax and tip included. There is also a separate drink menu with a couple of wines, beers, and cocktails. The first course was a local take on a Salad Lyonnaise featuring Waipoli greens tossed table side with house made papaya seed dressing and offered toppings of diced egg, bacon, and house made croutons. Salty, tangy, and a nice fresh start to the meal. Next came the star of the show. The 3-day herb cured, prime grade, prime rib was a perfect medium rare and carved table side. Each plate came with potato puree, creamed spinach, hurricane corn, and a shokupan bun. The prime rib was very tender as expected, and offered with creamy mild horseradish and au jus. The potatoes were food mill smooth and buttery. The spinach tasted "healthy" with just a touch of cream. The hurricane corn was a stroke of genius. Furikake works on popcorn, so it works on cream corn. The shokupan has a nice soft chew, just next time I might sneak my own butter in. And for those who can eat a little more, you might be offered a bonus slice. Dessert is a play on an Old Fashioned, with Asato Family frozen custard, orange whipped cream, toffee crunch, an old fashioned caramel, and a cherry. Like all Asato desserts, the flavors come through strong and true. I loved the addition of the toffee crunch for the texture and the boozy, burnt caramel which cut the dessert's sweetness. Only 16 diners per seating; check their website to secure your reservation. Tables are farm tables, so get comfortable with your table mates, and give The Prime Rib Club some love.

Pop up with poppin' flavors!…read more Yelp BFF and I have been eyeing out Mama Guava and after the end of the hectic holidays, we finally got a chance to visit. Things we ordered: lumpia look fun, veal pancit/pad see ew, and curry fish with roti My favs: lumpia look fun and curry fish with roti The lumpia was crispy and the look fun was nice and thin. Topped with green onions, a soy, vinegar and chili sauce. My only wish is they used a Thai sweet chili sauce instead. The veal pancit/pad see ew was saucy, but a little too salty for my taste. The curry fish with roti was perfect. Fish was flakey, curry was packed with flavor, and paired well with the crispy roti. Definitely worth a visit! Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

So I had to check out their pop-up restaurant in the former Pig and the Lady space in downtown. Lumpia Look Fun: A fun fusion of two of my favorite things to eat. Oxtail & Pechay Soup: Hearty and healing, this soup had real soul. Fried Chicken: Crispy salt and vinegar fried chicken was a hit. The batter and crunch were excellent. Tortang Talong: Charred eggplant and garlic rice. I became addicted to that garlic rice. Kang Kong (Ong Choy): My favorite bite, served in a savory garlic sauce. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed our time there. Mama Guava brings bold flavor, thoughtful fusion, and warmth in every dish. This is the kind of pop-up you hope sticks around for good.

We were told that the first batch would be served about 11 a.m. so we quickly put our order in. The first thing that caught my attention, was the savory aroma of their 5-spice ground pork being cooked. You can add this as a topping to the noodle dish. The second thing that caught my attention, was the labor of love going in to each order of fresh pulled noodles. You can watch him stretch the dough ball and slap it on the counter before he boils each batch with careful preparation. The third thing that caught my attention, was their adorable mother, helping to slice the cucumbers and top each dish with crushed iso peanuts. Do not forget to order the side of pickled bittermelon....so good!! From beginning to end, this was an incredible experience of all my senses! To see and hear them at work and then to taste the delicious sesame sauce on the fresh pulled noodles....WOW! The soft noodles, the crisp bittermelon, and the savory sauce....super delish! Seriously, go early to place your order. The wait is totally worth it :) Will come back next time to try other menu items.

Located in China town, you have the normal issues of finding parking. The location is not large and is split into indoor and outdoor seating areas. We got seated right away and the staff was very friendly. The food is an Italian - Asian fusion. We started with the Hokkaido milk rolls and prosciutto san daniele. The bread was good but that black garlic butter made it even better. But for me the prosciutto was the highlight and should not be skipped. Mixed with the pickles in that sesame shell, it was so delicious. For mains we got the gnocchi and capellini. The beef cheek in the gnocchi was so flavorful and soft.
