We came to Goldmiss because I saw someone make a post about it. They were raving about how great it was and how smooth the ice was. Goldmiss is located in the HMart Keeaumoku food court. They are pretty much right out of the elevator when you come up through HMart. They have a lot of things to offer like donuts, coffee, bubble teas, and snoothies, and toast sandwiches. It was our first time there and we were just going to get the thing we saw on someone's post. It was a strawberry ice shave with mochi pieces topped with strawberry drizzle and chocolate syrup. It also had a strawberry ice cream on top. The customer service here isn't so great. They didn't really say anything when we ordered or even after we ordered. Maybe people already know what to order when they come here but we were looking at the menu for quite some time before we found it. The ice shave was okay to me. I think it would have been okay with just the strawberry and the mochi. I think it was too much with the chocolate drizzle. It took away from the strawberry taste. I think I also prefer the ice shave from other places where it's smoother and creamier. My daughter, on the other hand, enjoyed the dessert. She liked the mochi and chocolate. The prices at Goldmiss weren't that cheap either. There were two prices for the strawberry dessert, you can have it in a cup or a bowl. I wanted to get the bowl since my daughter is messy but it was a lot more than the cup. So we got the cup. It was around $8 for the cup. Not sure I would go back for the ice shave. Goldmiss is such a cute name with a cute sign,it caught my eye as I got off the elevator. They seemed to have the similar items as before but this Goldmiss have donuts and supposedly hot dog but no hot dog yet. They have been opened under the new name for a month now. I was waiting for my order at Dada Chicken and wanted to get a drink from here. I do love yuzu so that pretty blue yuzu drink picture called Blue Yuzu Ade caught my eye. It seemed to be a vanilla blue flavored carbonated soda with some yuzu marmalade pieces (type you can get in a jar) was on the bottom of my drink. I liked it although if I want to get to the yuzu on the bottom, I would needed a thicker straw. Instead I took the yuzu afterwards and added to my diet coke from McDonald's and it tasted yummy too! Lol Nice to see they offer a large selection of donuts placed on the trays. Most I've seen in flavors just may have been not as soft as others I've tried from other places. My coworker picked up some mochi donuts. Not just one flavor, but 6 different ones. had strawberry, chocolate, regular, taro, pineapple, and Oreo. These donuts were moist and the glaze was delicious. One of my favorites was the pineapple. Yum. The way they decorated these donuts is creative and cute. Came here for the first time and ordered the classic brown sugar milk. Delicious and it came out pretty quick. They also sell sandwiches and other drinks, but we just wanted to checkout their milk tea since my wife loves her milk tea. Overall, it wasn't anything special and you practically could get something similar at any other store. This place is located on the 2nd floor of H-Mart Kakaako. There's a parking structure right next to it and you can validate your parking ticket. The staff are fast and friendly. The setup is like a food court so there are a bunch of tables and chairs. The new normal, eating out during COVID19. Aloha Aina is located in Kakaako at the new H-Mart (upstairs). Once you walk up the stairs you will find Aloha Aina on your left. This is my new favorite spot for lunch. The toast is BOMB! You have to try it! So far, I tried the Avocado Go Green Toast ($7.50), Ham Cheese Volcano Toast ($7) and Bulgogi Toast ($7.50). All were so delicious and super filling. For beverages I've tried the Blueberry Lemonade (16oz - $5) and Sunset Lemonade (16oz - $5), both were also good and yummy, perfect for a hot summer day. I went to the grand opening week of H Mart and this place caught my eye with their dalgona milk tea. So I gave into my curiosity and ordered their 'Dalgona Milk Tea,' 'Go Green Avocado toast,' and 'Ham Cheese Volcano toast.' Dalgona Milk Tea: This drink looked exactly like their dalgona coffee so I asked the employee if my order was the milk tea. She replied, 'yes' twice, but surely enough it tasted like coffee. However this "coffee" tasted watered down. Barely the taste of coffee, I could hardly even taste the milk. The honeycomb toffee melted away pretty quickly but it doesn't seem to create much of an impact on the drink itself. This drink has no flavor and was not worth its price. Go Green Avocado: Also disappointed with this toast. The toast was thick but there were barely anything in it except egg and cheese. I was hoping that the avocado would spread throughout the toast, but it was just one small scoop on top of the toast. After one bite, it was gone so I basically ate just an egg and cheese sandwich for $7.50. Ham Cheese Volcano: This toast has two slices of ham, egg and cheese. It basically what it's named but it wasn't anything special. Their volcano sauce tasted like ketchup and mayo. Overall, a disappointing experience. Although pricey for the quantity, each were flavorful and was made ala minute so had a hot, fresh flavor. The texture of the bread is thick and flavorful to feel that you'll know if it's missing. The bread to filling was on point, with the cheese sticking out, making it that much more appetizing. The Dalgona iced milk tea was the drink of choice. Seems like everyone is on that train. The flavor and spirit were there, even though the expected milk forth/foam was not. They did have the crispy, caramelized crunch to add more texture to the drink. The sweetness is on the higher side, and if it was possible I would ask for it 50% sweet. The H Mart Food Hall is going to be a "dangerous" place for my taste buds and Asian street food memories. Walking by this Korean coffee & tea food stall, one can't help noticing their toasted savory sandwiches and dessert waffles. I questioned whether their sandwiches could be Korea's famous gilgeori-tostuh AKA "Street Toast" which I've eaten for breakfast while visiting Korea many years ago. The toasted sandwiches on the poster drew me in to give one a try because they looked similar yet different (in a good way) from what I've known as gilgeori-tostuh. To me, the breakfast sandwich that I've eaten was basically a sweet egg and cabbage filling sandwiched between 2 thick slices of grilled buttered white bread. Also, Koreans are noted for their love of coffee and so it's no wonder that Aloha 'Aina offers the current social media sensation, Dalgona or honeycomb toffee milk tea (IG whipped coffee). Sorry, they only serve it with whole milk and don't have lactose-free or alternative non-dairy milk. But, it pairs well with either a toasted sandwich or sweet waffle. FOOD: -Bulgogi Lovers Toast: my sandwich was packed with bulgogi (Korean grilled meat), preserved vegetables, a slice of American cheese and topped with slices of jalapeño peppers. The sandwich was about 4" thick and served in a white cardboard open sandwich box. The bulgogi was tender and its marinade was slightly sweet. As I munched into the sandwich, the preserved vegetables gave this sandwich a bit of a crunch as the melting slice of cheese oozed with each bite. I had to re-think my thoughts about gilgeori-tostuh and accept that these sandwiches at Aloha 'Aina are wonderful variations of the sweet egg omelette street sandwiches. $7.50 -Dalgona Honeycomb Toffee Milk Tea: this coffee beverage has its roots from South Korea. From what I understand, it was popularized by a Korean actor who ordered a whipped coffee beverage in Macau and likened its flavor to Dalgona, a Korean honeycomb toffee. I took the chance to order Aloha 'Aina's Honeycomb Toffee Coffee even though I had inquired if they use non-dairy milk or whole milk. The counter girl said they only use whole milk, for now, possibly may have non-dairy substitutes in the future. Ok, I won't drink the entire beverage as I am mildly lactose-intolerant. Two things stood out about the beverage that I received, 1- the coffee top layer wasn't whipped like social media shows and 2- it was easy to stir-in the honeycomb toffee (sitting atop the coffee layer) that slowly dissolved into the beverage. I liked the flavor but was disappointed that the coffee wasn't whipped as I've seen on social media and have done at home. $5.50 The service was friendly and pretty quick. Everyone observed proper social distancing. Oh, for now, this vendor does NOT accept cash so those who don't usually carry cash, you'll be happy that you can swipe, tap, or insert your plastic here! I would have given Aloha 'Aina 5-stars but only gave them 4.4 stars because given the current takeout dining restrictions, they did not provide takeout containers or packaging for their sandwiches or waffles and I was disappointed that my Dalgona milk tea didn't have the whipped texture. However, flavor-wise, I was pleased with the honeycomb toffee (Dalgona) and perhaps my disappointment is misplaced. But, I'd still return to try their other gilgeori-tostuh, er Street Toasts. read more

We did our shopping and decided to venture upstairs to the food court. As we walked around we kept seeing the little boxes. Aloha 'Aina is located in HMart Kakaako on the second floor in the food court. You can't miss it because it's right on your left when you get to the top of the stairs. I really wanted to LOVE this place because I kept seeing pictures on IG of their menu items that were drool worthy. On my first visit here, I HAD to try their toast sandwiches. There were five different types - Hawaiian Egg, Ham Cheese Volcano, Bacon Cheese Bite, Bulgogi Lover, Avocado Go Green. Bulgogi Lover seemed the most appealing. I did enjoy the crispiness of the sweet bread. The rest of it was just 'eh'. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. They don't cut the bread completely into two pieces, so one end is able to hold the ingredients in. However, that leaves you with a hunk of bread toward your last bites. On my second visit, I HAD to get the matcha snow milk shaved ice (Matcha Love) that wasn't on the menu when I went the first time. Being a matcha fan, I didn't want to miss this. You can get it in a cup ($9) or a bowl ($14). My friend and I were already kind of full from eating dinner from another vendor, so we opted for the cup. Good thing we did because again it was only 'eh'. Don't think this is shaved ice because it says shaved ice in its name. It's snow milk shaved ice, which means that the flavors are infused into the milk before it's frozen. When frozen, it's then shaved into snow. So rather than just ice that's shaved and then drenched with syrup, the ice is already flavored. It definitely has a different texture than shaved ice. It's more fluffy than icy. Not as cold, so you won't get that brain freeze effect. They also top it with azuki beans, mochi balls, green tea ice cream, condensed milk, and poke a Pocky stick into it. While it was enjoyable, it wasn't memorable and didn't leave me wanting more. All in all, I got my fill of trying something different, but I don't think I'll be going back. She took my orders and quickly prepared everything. I ordered to go. So once I got home, my sandwich was soggy. I threw half in the air fryer and it was good. My mom bought me a sandwich from here even though I already had a huge bowl of noodles from Ireh but this looked good so I ate it anyway. I had the ham cheese and egg sandwich and a bite of the sandwich with guacamole. I didn't try the drinks or anything else though, although they look very trendy and there's huge posters with them on it. The bread was a little crisp on the outside but very light and fluffy. It was a little too wide to fit in my mouth, but it was a great breakfast for lunch type of sandwich, with creamy and fluffy scrambled egg and a nice tangy sauce. Maybe a little boring but it was pretty at least. I liked the sandwich with guacamole more since it had like a wide variety of textures and flavors, but this place's sandwiches are probably more for the look and for the bread than the fillings. read more

This is a review for the location within the new H-Mart in kaka'ako. I got a Dalgona Milk Tea with boba and my total was about $6! The boba was $0.70 extra. Pretty pricy drink! The dalgona coffee trend is a whipped coffee based off of the Korean Dalgona candy which is a honeycomb candy! Which inspires the dalgona drink here. The Dalgona milk tea is essentially milk with black tea poured over it and then it's sweetened with dalgona honeycomb candy. The drink was decent! the tea itself was pretty good, nicely brewed. The drink itself was not sweet initially but got sweeter overtime as the dalgona candy dissolved. This is not a drink you can drink slowly because of that. It is also super sweet at the end. The boba though?? Absolute trash lol. It definitely ruined the drink. It was rock hard. It seemed like they were using old boba from a day or they just refrigerated it. I would get a milk tea/drink here to enjoy post grocery shopping or with a meal at the H-mart food court if I had a big craving. But I would never go out of my way for this. Just don't get the boba!!! read more
