They toasted it and brought it out to me at my table (they were busy, so it took a while for it to be made). The coffee is always great. I typically order an iced coffee and it's always a hit. This location is in a hotel, so it can get really busy and even a little noisy with the waterfall. This is a very convenient spot for coffee if you're staying at the Hyatt Regency! This cafe is very open and spacious for a grab and go drink and/or to sit around the area. I ordered the Kai Latte (Macadamia Nut Latte). I liked the Macadamia Nut syrup but I didn't taste it until halfway through the drink. Came to Kai coffee on vacation. I got the Kai latte and it was very good. It tasted like macadamia. The line wasn't too long so I got my drink pretty fast. The customer service was good. I tried the Kai latte and regular latte which were good though I didn't really feel like the Kai latte had a strong macadamia flavor (was very subtle). It was not very sweet. Conveniently located at our hotel in Hyatt Regency Waikiki. We stopped by here at like 8:30 AM on a Saturday and it was a longggggg line. Expect long lines here lol We did a huge order for coffee and breakfast menu items. The wait to order may be long, but luckily it didn't take too long for them to prepare the drinks and sandwiches. The drinks were faster but the sandwiches did take some time. I mainly had the Kai Latte, which was the macadamia nut latte. I would say it's pretty sweet, but the macadamia nut flavor wasn't really that prominent. It was just sweet. I wish the coffee was also stronger, but it was pretty light. The sandwiches here were pretty good too. I tried the veggie breakfast sandwich which only had some greens and eggs. I tried a bite of the protein breakfast sandwich and I think I probably like that one better haha. Although, the veggie one was definitely a lot more lighter and easy to consume. The protein one probably would have been a lot more heavier for me, but a lot more flavorful. Otherwise, food and coffee are pretty solid. The reviews were so good so I expected it to be great, but maybe it just wasn't the day for the coffee to be good. This place located inside Hyatt hotel and very convenient to the hotel guest. I just grabbed a cup of cappuccino and large piece of lemon loaf to go before heading out to the beach. I talked to an employee and tried another coffee a second time and it was not better. But, I did like their acai bowl. It was good timing when I came back for a third time. It wasn't busy and I was able to ask the barista about getting a strong iced caffeinated coffee. Kai coffee doesn't refrigerate their leftover coffee. They actually make cold brew! That, with an extra shot of espresso, liquid sugar and cream made it the best cold brew! Now, I definitely recommend Kai coffee. I am very picky about flavored coffees--I hate when they taste synthetic or overly sweet. I got the macadamia nut coffee and it was exactly what I was looking for. It has a bold, robust coffee base that holds its own, with a distinct, buttery nut flavor that comes through clearly. It smells amazing while brewing, but tastes smooth and nutty rather than sugary. It's perfect black, but pairs nicely with just a splash of cream. If you want a luxurious, tropical flavor that still feels like a 'real' coffee, this is it. I love that they have a good system going on, where you order first, then you're forced to circle around the middle island, while conveniently seeing their lovely merch on the wall, and you end up waiting in a line where your order is queued up - very efficient especially being right smack in the middle of Waikiki. I got a kai coffee with macadamia nut milk and it was extremely bitter and unflavored. I even had to ask for more milk. Kai Coffee doesn't have any free wifi, so it is not ideal at all for working. They do not have a bathroom useable by customers, and all nearby bathrooms surrounding Kai Coffee require a hotel key pass to access. The staff was friendly but for the high prices, there really are no accommodations to make this an ideal cafe to sit in. read more

I came here briefly en route to a bus tour and decided to stop by for some coffee. I was hoping that this spot wasn't a tourist trap and I can assure you that it's not. I got the iced caramel latte made with Macadamia milk. It was okay, but did not give me any craveworthiness (probably not a word, lol). The coffee didn't taste strong enough, so I'm assuming it's diluted. I love macadamia milk because it's frothier than most nut based milks, but this was not frothy and lacked texture. I'm not sure I'd come back here unless I can't find another spot that is better. The employees here seemed nice and were in good spirits.
