Kona Mountain Coffee was a lifesaver before I left Hawai'i! Justin was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough during my visit. My parents wanted us to bring them back some Kona coffee, and I stumbled upon this place on Google. When I arrived, Justin was there to answer all my questions, as I had no idea about the different varieties available. They have a huge selection of Kona coffee. Justin was a huge help in selecting the perfect coffee for my parents. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Gina and Justin for their exceptional assistance during my visit. If you're in the market for some Kona coffee, I highly recommend checking out this place! The customer service is top notch! read more

Kona Mountain Coffee - the entrance to a coffee shop - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Awesome collection of craft coffees. When we visit the island we make sure to stop. Baked goods are delicious and have a home feel. Made with lots of love. Mahalo and hang loose Kona Mountain Coffee crew. read more

Kona coffee alone is worth the flight to Hawaii. I always come home with 5-6 bags of fresh roasted beans in my carry on.

Smells wonderful, tastes good even though i'm not a coffee fan, but it is definitely expensive. Walking in, the shop is clean and organized and the employees answered questions about the products when asked. There are definitely a lot of options, so you'll most likely have questions. This coffee is defenitely not your Folger's, which is probably why it tasted decent to me since I don't drink coffee often. The morning we went in it was pretty quiet so we had the store to ourselves and got to take our time. We ended up with a mixture of dark roast and medium roast private reserve to take home from vacation. They also have a selection of chocolate, tea, cookies, and jams so you'll have a bevy of items to pick from. I'd definitely at least stop by to smell the coffee. But it's even better to get tot ake some home with you! read more

Nice strong coffee. I was surprised that the beans were good, considering the store was located in Waikiki, which is generally full of tourist traps. Whoever is roasting these beans are well-trained, talented, or both. I made sure to buy a small bag for my parents since they're avid coffee drinkers that only drink black coffee. I got a bag of whole bean Kona coffee for $30. I wish that they put a roasting date. The employee told me the beans were roasted on the Thursday before I bought them on Saturday, but I'd rather have that information written by the facility where they were roasted as opposed to just told to me from an employee that is trying to sell the coffee beans. For more casual coffee drinkers, they also have blends. But most people want their moneys worth because specialty, pure Hawaiian beans aren't easy to come by in the continental US or even anywhere else in the world. And whatever is mixed inside coffee blends tend to be cheaper without the quality found in pure beans. The only complaint I have was the employees. Not friendly because they didn't greet anyone that walked in, and no samples were available. The employees are probably fed up with tourists, but Waikiki is a huge tourist hub that earns most of its money off tourism. Plus $30 is a big commitment for beans without trying them first. Good thing the beans were excellent. Otherwise I wouldn't want to come back the next time I'm in Hawaii. read more

The coffee, macadamia nuts and service is phenomenal. The shopkeep was so knowledgeable! Very helpful! Would highly recommend!

The best experience ever!!! Justin was beyond knowledgeable and he was amazing seriously ao passionate about his craft

This store's Kona coffee is a game changer. Highly recommended. Ever since visiting Hawaii and drinking Kona coffee, I've been drinking it with breakfast pretty much every day. I had been drinking Kona Mountain Coffee at the Coffee/ice cream shop across from my hotel each day for the week I was there. Don't waste your time trying to save money on any other kind of Kona. I highly recommend buying your coffee from this store and giving their Peaberry and the private reserve a try. read more

Great coffee ! Friends from mainland really enjoy this brand of Kona coffee. Always try to stop in for a bag to mail out. read more

This coffee store is located in the Hilton Village and offers great tasting Kona coffee and tea. They do have decaf coffee for those who are caffeine sensitive. Overall this place offers great tasting coffee at a very affordable rate compared to other kona coffee. The staff is very friendly and can help you identify the flavor profile that would work best for you. Whether you like medium roast, dark roast, or espresso roast coffee you will find great tasting coffee at a good price, especially for Waikiki. I used a hand grinder with an aeropress and 185 degree water to make their medium coffee every morning and it definitely made my mornings more enjoyable while staying at the Hilton. Cheers to the coffee connoisseurs out there. read more

Bought a bag of med roast during our walk. The gentleman who was working here was very helpful and kindly answered all of my questions. Minus 2 stars due the lady working at cash register; she just motioned me to hand her the coffee bean bag with her fingers and never said a word although she conversed with another couple in front of us quite well. read more

To all the coffee lovers out there, you should definitely try this out. Kona Mountain Coffee is located in Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki near Lappert's Ice Cream. I believe they only have 2 shops in Hawaii, this one in Waikiki and one at Kona, Big Island. They're like a mom and pop shop. We went inside and we were greeted by their very courteous, fun and friendly staff. Even though there are many people inside, she was able to accommodate everyone especially with their questions about their coffees because they have many variants of coffees and it gets overwhelming too. I love the ambiance of the store; very local, ethnic and well organized - coffee bags are placed in front, and local treats like honey, macadamia nuts, chocolates and teas are located at the back. Their dark chocolate covered arare is a must try! So YUM! They also offer coffee samples of their best selling coffees - Medium Roast and Dark Roast. As a new to coffee gal (yes, I just started drinking coffee again after 14yrs good thing my Husband is a coffee lover and knows what a great coffee tastes like. He's like my Coffee guru), I enjoyed their Medium Roast. And did you know that Medium Roast has more stronger than the Dark Roast coffee? It's because Medium Roast is more loaded with caffeine than the Dark Roast. Amazing right? Thanks to their staff who gave us many information about coffee - she's like a Coffee Geek. :) Overall, I'm hooked with their coffee and awesome customer service. I'll come back for more coffee for sure! Regards, Rachel @panda.eatss #pandaeatssph read more

This place saved my life! Shortly after arriving in Waikiki at the Ilikai, I needed to find a good coffee place nearby. Yelp searches brought up a Starbucks and Milano Coffee shop nearby, but both are closed! I didn't discover Kona Mountain Coffee until I took a walk around the neighborhood the next day. Every subsequent morning during our stay, my daughter and I made the pilgrimage next door to fill up my thermal coffee mug. It's a tad pricey though, a small 12 oz coffee runs about $2.50. I'm glad I found them. Their 100% Kona coffee rocks. They have a medium and dark roast that they have brewed and ready in thermal carafes. I prefer the medium roast myself. I also liked their iced coffee, which is a blend of the two roasts. For sweetener, they offer a simple syrup and cream to mix in to your liking. These guys have only been open for a month or so. Everyone I talked to in that store was super friendly and helpful. They also sell Hawaiian chocolates that I sampled on a couple of the days. Excellent stuff. Tomorrow, I'll be returning to home in California. I look forward to the morning when I redeem my Kona Mountain Club Card that has been generously stamped throughout the week for 1 free signature drink! Do me a favor and keep these guys in business for when I come back. :) read more

Kona Mountain Coffee - Storefront at 7am - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I think the idea of this place is 5 stars and the reality of it is 3 stars. I've been here a few times before and although I like the coffee, I don't love it. Shiny roast is typically not my favorite, but the words 100% Kona coffee have an amazing effect on me. Sure enough, I bought a small 7 oz. back of the signature roast and tried it for the first time this morning, post vaca and all. It was pretty good. BUT, my expectations being what they are and all, it's not great coffee. They don't offer up a "roasted date" stamp, so who knows if it's fresh or semi fresh or whatever. West Coast coffee roasters like Stumptown, Verve, Victrola and Sight Glass have spoiled me filthy rotten indeed. Also, the iced coffee/slushy machine broke down and the cost to repair it was too high, so they no longer have that going for them. read more

Cute little shop with delicious Kona coffee. Try both brews to compare. And try the samples of coffee chocolate covered macadamia nuts and the chocolate covered arare (a sesame rice cracker). Ono! They have some other chocolate covered goodies as well. The mugs and coffee bag bags are also nice, although priced for a tourist shop. A fun place to kill time before the Friday night fireworks. read more

We're so glad they've reopened from the pandemic! We've been going there for years and this is a great place to get their Kona Peaberry coffee. They've got some great roasts! We can only find their Peaberry here and on their online site and they always sell out of this bean quickly since it's a limited offering. They've got other goodies at the store too, one of which is their chocolate coffee peaberry bean which is their signature chocolate covered peaberry with a light powder sugar coating, an addicting treat! As for service, Gina, their manager, rocks! She's always friendly and helpful and since we take advantage of their free shipping she always checks with us to make sure she only sends the package in time for us receive it when we're back home. FYI, you do have to spend $100 or more to get the free shipping so if you tend to "stock up" it's a great deal instead of having to lug it home! Enjoy! read more

Very poor customer service from David! Just like the other yelper said, he yelled at us as well. So rude! If you need to tell us that the coffee is hot, how about you watch your tone with please NOT with "That's enough, you should stop now!" That's what I called being mean and rude. Not care about your customer. You're in the tourist area, YES, sometimes it can be a stressful day but those people are the one provide your food on the table. Please train David to fit in the hospitality industry. He is waaaayyy below average!!! Please check the camera when you have the time. read more

Shop is located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Bought one big bag of Kona coffee to bring back home. They also have small 2oz bags, perfect for gifts! They do offer some flavored roasts, I bought the hazelnut one to bring back home. The bag I got contained the whole bean, so not grounded yet. Some of the other flavored are already grounded up for you, you just have to look around for it. The shop also offers a variety of tea selections! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a small table where you can try the medium and dark roast! read more

Very good coffee, just that I'm so used to the Vietnamese grind. 3.8 Free sampling 8am every morning....strong yet no bitter flavour. Staff really nice and happily answered a tourist questions. For example, they brew on their own farms and pointed out size differences in the packaged goods. Nice store, spacious enough. read more

Really wonderful costumer service from the folks at this location. It's nice how they offer you free coffee to try & you can have your order shipped for free if you buy over $100, which it's quite easy to do here. They were quite knowledgable about their coffee too & I learned something knew from them. For example, did you know that a darker roast has less acid hence it lessens your chances of getting acid reflux?! I was very happy to know this because I suffer from reflux & gave up coffee for a while but I used to drink a light to medium roast. Recently, because the bf likes a dark roast, I've started drinking a little in the mornings & I haven't gotten any reflux. Could be total chance but it was nice to know a certain fact about coffee. read more

Friendly, helpful, & Excellent customer service!! Kudos to Gina for going the 'extra mile' for our special order!!

We went to Honolulu after Christmas and found Kona Mountain Coffee. It is not bitter or acid tasting like so many coffees are these days. I had hoped to find similar Kona coffee in Oklahoma at a cheaper price, but here I am now trying to find the order information because there is no comparison with other coffee. It is the best! read more

Stopped by this place based on the great reviews. Sampled their medium and dark roasts and bought one of each, plus a coconut mocha flavor. This is a place where you pick and serve your own coffee, but help is there for someone like me who looked lost. The cashier was very helpful. The coffee here was okay; I've had better Kona Coffee. The guava blend? was awful for my taste - should have sampled it before serving to purchase. The price for the drinks are not as bad and the taste of it is very mediocre, but their gift selections like organic tea, coffee beans and sea salts were eye catching - just tooooo pricey. read more

Coffee is amazing. We bought a ton of it to take back. Would recommend if you are a coffee lover. Our favorite was the medium roast, which turned out to be very flavorful (all depending on your coffee style). We also bought some chocolate and macadamia nut for our family. Will definitely stop by if i see it at the airport. read more

I can't speak to the quality of the coffee since I don't drink it, but the store is nice and offers some fun products like macadamia-flavored honey and spicy sugar. They always have some samples available if you want to taste one of the coffee flavors, or try a piece of their chocolates. They try to get you to buy a lot with certain deals, which I think are best avoided unless you were planning on getting a lot of stuff for gifts. I was definitely tempted by the random non-coffee items they offered and I think they're worth considering if you know your way around a kitchen. read more

** TOURIST TRAP ** (because it's close to hotels) why are people raving about this place? is it fake? or do people not know coffee? probably both. i have been to all the major islands. we know our coffee. it comes down to the roasting technique used by the coffee grower. we don't drink overly sweet coffee...no flavored coffee for us. there is good kona coffee and bad ones. just because it's 100% kona coffee does not mean that it's the best. it's okay at best. people come here to get their cup of joe like we did because it is walking distance to hotels in the ala moana area. it is smart of kona mountain coffee to open a stand alone store across from hotels where there is no other coffee place around. it's not horrible but not 4 or 5 star worthy. if you saw the reviews versus actually going there, you would be disappointed since there is no one there. it's quite expensive. i wonder how long those bags of coffee beans have been in the store since it's empty. go to island vintage coffee in ala moana mall (but i prefer the waikiki location). or visit starbucks. read more

Good service, but they don't serve coffee by the cup starting March 16, 2014, which is a letdown. The Kona coffee is good, not great. However, the primary business here is selling coffee beans, and chocolate covered nuts... All of which they do well with some knowledgable staff. If you are lucky to have somebody from the farm be at the store (Mark), they can educate you well about the coffee roasting process. The samples are generous and their chocolates rather good. read more

One of the best places to buy Pure 100% Kona coffee. Highly recommendable. Knowledgeable

This place is a tourist trap, but the coffee is pretty decent. I've had better kona coffee but this isn't bad at all. If you're lookin to try kona, just remember to get the 100% kona rather than the kona blend which is what you get at most places. read more

Poor customer service. The employee rudely yelled at me for pressing the coffee bags to smell the beans, saying I'm "crushing them and then she can't sell them." I should be allowed to smell the product before I buy it. And the bags return to their original shape after squeezing them. Was considering buying a bag, but the customer service turned me off from it. read more
