I stopped by Kai Coffee multiple times during my visit in Hawaii. They open at 6 AM and was located right next Alohilani. There wasn't a long line when I went around 6-6:30 am, but around 7, the lines begins getting longer and longer. We have tried their coffee, peach tea, acai bowl, banana bread, pesto sandwich. Long black coffee was ok. It tasted a bit burnt in our opinion. It tasted like they brew the coffee instead of pulling an expresso shot. We wouldn't get it again. However, the tea was pretty good and refreshing. Acai bowl is also good and a good amount of fruit balance. Banana bread was delicious. Pesto sandwich was a bit more dry. Overall, I still think Kai Coffee is a pretty decent coffee shop for breakfast or mid day coffee etc!
We had an a coffee break today as we needed caffeine in the middle of the day! Super friendly service, I will say coffee hit the spot. The crepe Could have been less crispy! But overall it was a great experience
LOVE coming to Kai Coffee and highly recommend to anyone I know visiting Oahu! The line may look long but it's definitely worth the wait! Why? The coffee is great, the breakfast options are delicious, and their baked items (scones and breads) are rich and delicious! The baristas are happy and seem to love their jobs. Shoutout to Julian for his expertise in recommendations -- ie Macadamia milk with lattes (not cappuccinos) I ALWAYS get a cold brew (less ice) because it is honestly my FAVORITE cold brew on the island! The woman who took my order was smiley, pleasant, and patient. All businesses should have employee morale that matches Kai Coffee -- happy employees make a happy environment which leads to happy (and repeat!) customers like me! The seating, both indoors and patio, are comfortable. When sitting at the long indoor table, you'll likely make some new friends from around the globe! Also, if you walk across the street (beach side) there's a little Kai spot as well to order and sit and watch the beach- and surf-goers.
My normal stop on the morning everyday on Waikiki. Loved the Mac Nut Kai latte. I tried the Lilikoi Matcha Iced latte, and the Vanilla nut latte. I also had the Banana Bread latte. Some time it had a huge line, and other times it wasn't so long. Friendly service and great coffee and made it the most visited spot on my tome In Oahu. Also the beachfront location also was the same great service and coffee.
Don't be discouraged if the lines are long, the staff move very quickly and efficiently. The coffee is ok here but the baristas do let the shots sit for a long time so it becomes a dead shot (bitter). Theres really nothing that stands out at this place except that it's a typical tourist trap.
Kai is a really great place for coffee! We were on a long walk, but on the way back, I really needed coffee. We stopped here and I got the Kai Coffee signature drink. I asked for macadamia milk which enhanced the flavor. This is a really good drink! So well balanced! The staff is really friendly especially under pressure because they were busy. Lots of tourists...and not friendly ones either...LOL! Lighten up! You're in Waikiki...it's always busy! Debs and I grabbed two chairs and sat to the side. Great place to watch everyone. Mahalo Kai!
I was worried that going to a chain on the beach would not be anything more than an ordinary experience I was truly wrong I ordered the macadamia nut latte, which seems to be their special and it was perfect Not sweet at all They had a macadamia nut milk that I could upgrade to you so I decided to try 100% recommend
I am staying in Waikiki for the next few days. I decided to stop at Kai Coffee before heading to my conference. This place is super cute. I love the vibe and the set up. You wait in line to put in your order. The line seems long but you get through it pretty fast. After putting in your order and paying for it, you go to the other side to wait for them to prepare your drink and call your name. For as busy as it was, I didn't have to wait long. I got a coconut frappicino with oatmilk. It was delicious and a great way to start my morning. If you are in the area, you should definitely check it out.
We stopped by Kai Coffee located in Waikiki Beach Honolulu. This is quickly becoming one of my favorites coffee spots in Honolulu. The staff is friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions. The offer a great macchiato that I really like! Check out Kai Coffee when you're in Honolulu, you'll be glad you did!
This was my first Kona coffee and I absolutely loved it! The service here was great. I ordered the Kai coffee and you must try their tiramisu! Great location, you can enjoy the sunset drinking a delicious coffee at their tables outside.
Grabbed an iced Kai Latte and a Deluxe Breakfast Sandwich to enjoy with a view of the ocean. Definitely one of the best coffee drinks we had on Waikiki Beach!
I was pleasantly surprised when I got a message after I had posted my review so I wanted to write an update. I love that they took the review as a way to see how they can improve; they promised to address everything that was mentioned. I genuinely appreciate every effort to make this unpleasant experience right for us. Any company or business owner with integrity will take accountability instead of just make an excuse. Great location as it is right across the beach, and walking distance to hotels and restaurants.
Kai has some of the best coffees on the strip. There's always a long line, it opens at 6:30, and most of the days we come at 6:30 and there's like 5 people ahead. One day we came at 7am and it was a line out the door, waited about 20-30 minutes ish. I usually get the Kai latte or the chai latte. Both good. My husband gets 3 espresso shots over ice. The coffee is good, they make it well here, but super busy in the mornings.

Stopped by for breakfast and coffee on our first morning in Ohau and we are soooo impressed. We got the Kai latte, breakfast Veggi wrap, an egg and cheese ciabatta breakfast sandwich, and decaf vanilla coffee. Our food was amazing!!! And they were so great to accommodate our special requests. 10/10 highly recommend read more
This coffee shop is connected to the Alohalani Hotel in Waikiki. Nice shop, limited seating, prices are a bit high. I had the Kai Ice Coffee that had the macadamia nut flavor. It was delicious. The scone was warmed and delicious. Come early looks like they run out. They also offer lots of breakfast sandwich options. No prices listed so hard to tell the price range. Lots of merch for sale. Kai Coffee is connected to Alohilani resort. The lines are long but it moves quickly. The place is clean and has some inside seating. The coffee is just ok. We got an iced latte and it was not memorable. The açaí bowl was just not great. The fruit was sour and the whole thing seemed overpriced. read more

So I have spent so much time in this coffee shop. I could probably file it and write it off in someway on my tax returns. So I have been drawn lots and lots of drawing because here on vacation and I am on the Artist. On top of great coffee, kind people fabulous service lovely ambience, best view. The tables are also very sturdy. So if you are working on something like a laptop. or just want some stability to your surface. This is a great spot as well. They have two locations right across the street from each other which I absolutely love one starts early in the morning the other finishes late in the evening so I can just float from one to the other. I have been getting açai bowl almost every day And hot coffee and cold coffee and just listening to all the people speaking different languages. It was really cool. read more
Update on Kai coffee located on Kalakaua. The other day I ran out of Kai coffee grinds so needed to pick up more. Normally I go to the location on Kapahulu but they close early during the weekday . So I had to go to their Waikiki location and I found metered parking luckily on Ohua and Kalakaua Ave. The old saying goes if you like something so much you're going to pay the price . lol this small bag for coffee 7oz for $21. But it's real good and I like to support local read more
Kai coffee is a nice local coffee shop franchise to visit on your next visit to Waikiki! They have a lot of locations next to the beach and they open at 6, so nice and early! I got their special which is Kona coffee with macadamia nut flavoring and it was really solid. The service is fast and they have a lot of areas to sit at to enjoy the coffee. read more

Ordered the Kai latte with nut milk ! Super tasty and I can taste both the coffee and milk. The taste is so unique and maybe can only get in Hawai'i unless you have Kona beans of some sort! Vert rich and toasty profile. read more
The coffee here is really great!! I had the mocha with macadamia nut milk...yes it's that good and I certainly recommend it!!! The service is very nice and friendly! They also sell other good items like sandwiches and POG juice!!! read more

I always go to get espresso at other coffee shops and it's always. trash. So I normally make my own. But over here wow it's pretty good! Would love to come back here again when I have a chance Service was top notch too. Staff is friendly and got my order in less than a couple mins during the morning rush read more

Kai Coffee attached to the Alohilani Resort is awesome. I visited and was assisted by Sean, who was so cool and thoughtful. Their coffee is delicious and they are super quick. There's inside seating and outdoor seating to watch the sunrise and sunset. Amazing views! read more

Been here multiple times and since I'm in town, why not Kai. My "go to" is their iced kona latte, can't go wrong. I think it is better than Kona Purveyors in my opinion. I like the wholesomeness. Haven't tried their breakfast yet. I'm sure it's delish. Just grab your cup of ice joe and take a stroll alongside the beach in the morning. Decent price, I would get a large. Service is quick, they get you in and out. read more

It was our every morning first stop to have quick coffee and breakfast snacks. Right across Waikiki beach perfect place to stop by and enjoy perfect Hawaiian morning. My favorite was their coconut and Macadamia frapp. Açaí bowls are fresh and tiramisu cake is out of the world though sells out fast in the morning. Nice outside seating and service is quick. read more

I went to this place while I stayed Waikiki beach. I like this place macadamia nut latte. That's signature coffee at this place and amazing. They're friendly and if you don't decide what kind coffee you order then just asking them. If you are traveling around Waikiki beach should give a shot. Very closed from Waikiki beach walk. So convenient that this coffee shop is right around the corner from the hotel at Alohilani resort! We stayed at the hotel and I was able to make my way to this coffee shop. It was super busy in the morning, but the line moves smoothly. I tried the Kai latte, which was very good The espresso was a little bitter, but flavor overall was good. I ordered two açai bowls and their açai was super good. A basic acai toppings blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and honey and granola. Their granola is different. I think it has cereal flakes inside because it's super crunchy and I thought I saw it. But the fruit on top was fresh and the açai blend was super good. I like acai that arent too sweet and there's was the perfect blend. The cashier was super friendly and did let me know that they do a kamaaina discount on drinks. read more

Absolutely delicious!! Great coffee shop right on the beach that is walkable. Inside is welcoming and love the warm wood tones and cool blue. Sets you in the mood for the beach and beautiful Oahu! Got a large Kai coffee and açaí bowl. Along with 3 shots of expresso. The coffee is absolutely divine! Nothing like it. So smooth and delicious. The açaí bowl was a good portion size. The fruit on top was fresh and the granola had a good crunch. The açaí itself was cold and refreshing. Solid coffee shop that is in the heart of Waikiki. read more
