Coffee or Tea in McCully Shopping Center is one of my go-to spots for a refreshing treat. I ordered the Shave Ice #5 to go, which comes loaded with custard pudding, tea jello, herb jello, tapioca pearls, and a generous drizzle of condensed milk over finely shaved ice. It's a delicious mix of textures and flavors--always consistent, never too sweet, and definitely big enough to share (easily feeds 2-3 people). The shop is located on the first floor, just to the right of the elevator. During weekday daytime hours, there are usually 1-2 workers, and while it can get busy, service is pretty efficient. This time, my order was ready in about 5-7 minutes. Highlights: - Shave Ice #5 is flavorful, balanced, and generously portioned - Consistent quality every visit - Convenient location with easy access - Reasonable wait time even during busy hours Giving this place 4 out of 5 stars only because the parking situation is rough. The front lot does not have enough stalls for the amount of businesses occupying the building, and it's almost always full. There is additional parking underneath the building with the entrance on Pumehana St., but even that can get crowded. I usually bring someone with me so they can hop out and grab the order in case there's no parking available. The food/service itself is great -- it's really just the parking that makes the experience a bit stressful.

Highly recommended by my younger niece. Definitely lived up to my expectations and more. The Milk Tea is legit. We ordered Strawberry Milk Tea, Wintermelon Milk Tea, Lychee Smoothie and Caramel Latte. All were so delicious. Not too sweet at all. The menu selection is extensive. Lychee Smoothie flavor is spot on. I see they have very delicious and decadent looking cheesecake but we didn't try them. There's always a next time. They have inside seating, comfortable tables and chairs. The service staff are friendly and work efficiently.

I know the place is called Coffee or Tea, but honestly... I never get either. I'm here strictly for the watermelon juice. It's my absolute favorite. Sure, you could make it yourself -- but let's be real, who has time for that? For the price (at least for now), it's totally worth it. If inflation really hits, maybe I'll invest in a juicer and go DIY. But until then, I'll keep coming back here for my watermelon fix. Priorities.

Their shave ice options are very good. My favorite is the coffee version that is simply addictive. Been back here several times and will be back for more.

I came here because I was craving shave ice similar to Meet Fresh, and this spot definitely did the job. I loved all the tea jellies and tapioca balls, and the ice had just the right amount of condensed milk. The ice cream on top was amazing. The only downside is that the service isn't great, there's not much seating, and parking can be tough.

My daughter and son-in-law stopped by to grab boba teas so I decided to get a chocolate milk tea. The tea was really delicious and had a nice chocolate flavor. I can see why this is my daughter's go to place when she wants a chocolate milk tea.

Babe and I decided to go for dessert since she was lacking some appetite, so we decided to get some sweets as appetizer instead. Coffee or tea is the OG in bubble drinks and this would be my first time trying out their save ice. The ice were pretty soft, not bad I guess but it ain't waiola shave ice good. The service was chill, can't remember if they smile but its alright because its not like they servers. The place is well lit and had some Taiwanese snacks on sale. I was curious if they are expired or not since its been there for a minute and its more like decorations than actual merchandise. Anyhow, they qualify to satisfy the basic bubble drink amd shave ice needs at night.

One of my favorites! I opted for the #4 shave ice- piled high with strawberries, pineapples, chewy tapioca pearls, velvety condensed milk, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream! The vibe is relaxed and fun, perfect for grabbing a quick treat. Everything is so yummy you can't go wrong! Staff is kind and the service is quick and efficient!!! Will be back soon

Shaved ice with azuki beans and green tea ice cream

Coffee shop that serves shaved ice, desserts, coffee, and tea. It is on the first floor of a strip mall. They served a little bit of everything. I came in for the shaved ice. It comes with green tea ice cream, azuki beans, condensed milk, tapioca balls. I decided to hold the tapioca balls and condensed milk. Service is excellent, employees are friendly and helpful. The azuki beans are very good and not too sweet. The green tea ice cream is very mild and very light green tea taste. The portion is HUGE! This is more for sharing than for one person. I wish they would have told me that and I would have ordered a smaller item for just myself. I only half the portion because it was just too much.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. A great high-protein, lower-carb way to start the day! The salad had a nice variety of colors, textures, and crunch from the pistachios and onions. It also came with a small cup of sweet and savory dressing that tied everything together beautifully. The smoked ahi spread was fresh, flavorful, and not overly fishy. It was served with a slice of freshly toasted garlic bread that was warm, fragrant, and perfectly crisp without being overly toasted. // Wailua Moana Açaí Bowl So refreshing! Easily one of the best açaí bowls we've had. The texture was thick and smooth with a great balance of fresh fruit, crunchy granola, and healthy fats from the nuts. Every bite was delicious. // Matcha We ordered both the regular matcha latte with coconut foam and the strawberry matcha latte. I was so disappointed they no longer offer the lilikoi matcha- I know that flavor combination would've been amazing! Hopefully they bring it back someday. The matcha itself was on the lighter side compared to richer ceremonial matchas, but it was still smooth, well-balanced, and not at all astringent. It paired really well with the oat milk, and both drinks were enjoyable. There was a line out the door during breakfast/brunch hours, which shows just how popular this place is. Despite the crowd, the service was friendly and efficient, and we were able to grab a small table to dine in. It's located on the upper level of the Royal Hawaiian Center, making it a convenient stop while shopping in Waikiki. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu (hoping the lilikoi matcha will make a comeback too)!

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
