The best toffee you'll ever have. Trust me. A Hawai'i treasure for sure. It's hard to only eat one brick.

Momi Dolce's owner and confectioner is Michelle Serota who is from Brazil and she brings her tradition to Hawai'i. She sells her brigadeiros (pronounced "Bree-gah-day-ro") by 4-pack or 6-pack. Her featured flavors are: -Dark chocolate -Crunchy chocolate with cacao nibs -Coconut (white chocolate) -Passion fruit or lilikoi (white chocolate) -Kauai coffee -Almond All of the flavors are intense but balanced by the premium chocolate and condensed milk used in making them. I suppose one could compare them to ganache that is used in making chocolate truffles. These brigadeiros are creamy and fudge-like though it melts smoothly as you might pop them in your mouth. The good thing about Momi Dolce is that Michelle can be reached online so you don't have to wait for her appearance at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market. You can thank me later... Obrigado!

Anyway, on to my rewarding satisfaction of carefully hand crafted artisan dark chocolate. As timing should have it, their seasonal flavored truffle was Hibiki. Wow! Just wow! Big bold robust whiskey taste in this one. My Darling Angel knows I like coffee and Earl Grey, so those were the other two truffles in this custom gift set. So smooth! So creamy! So delicious! Thank you Choco Le'a for bringing peace to the world, one chocolate at a time. Seriously, we all need this!

Parking can be challenging, in fact, super challenging. We went on a Saturday (the only day we…read morecould go) and there was no street parking. We saw some people illegally parked on the street right on the corner, but they didn't care, they would brave a citation just for these amazing treats! I am sure the neighbors who live across from this place think this is a massive headache, to have such a popular chocolate place right in their own neighborhood - either that, or a blessing, since they can just walk right across! There are 4 tiny stalls in the driveway in the front of the Doggie Bakery and this place, but it looks far too challenging to get in and out and onto the main street, which is insanely busy on a weekend. We parked in the neighboring lot and purchased something from another business just so we could get some chocolates here. If the parking situation were better, I'd come back. I purchased the Hokkaido Soft Serve (weekends only, I think), it was delicious but I was expecting more fatty mouthfeel for something that was labeled as "Hokkaido". It was lighter than I was expecting. The chocolates, on the other hand, were fabulous and worth every, expensive, penny. By the way, who the heck nowdays says "worth every penny"? Probably old folks like me who knew what a penny was, and now due to inflation and the Federal Reserve nixxing the penny, it's probably worth 0.0012 cents now. Rainbow Shave Ice - it really does taste like shave ice! I came here mainly for this, as I've heard the hype and the hype is real! Hibiki Whisky Chocolate - nice and lovely. Dubai Chocolate - with gold leaf and everything. The Dubai craze is insane. This was good, but the least of my favorites. Six chocolates + one soft serve = $30.

Hubs had to fast from 6 am for his 2 pm surgery so I thought he would probably be starving and would enjoy a delectable salt and butter roll from here. At $4.50 a piece I consider this a luxury for us. I found a close stall in the parking structure. A very cheerful polite male employee took my order. I had seen two occupied tables as I walked into the shop. Both had matcha drinks. Why not? I asked the young man assisting me, what's the best matcha drink? He said his favorite was banana matcha with extra banana foam. Okay I'll try it. He repeated it to the cashier. So popular there was a wait for beverages to be prepared. Soon enough mine was ready. I think Doc would enjoy this drink. This shop is a working bakery. Many yummy pastries displayed. Menu is posted high up above to choose from. Rather tiny shop with room for customers to stand in line to order and wait for drinks. Clean, busy with a few tables and chairs outside but pretty much in direct sun.

I love their Original Sin (basic vanilla) and Strawberry Fields (strawberry and matcha) but I know their entire menu is incredible (off vibes, but still). The matcha (made with vanilla syrup and mac nut milk) is also to die for!! I would also say prices are fairly affordable for the quality. We arrived right when they opened at 5 pm on Wednesday, so it wasn't crowded at all. I was immediately impressed by the interior design and atmosphere. We started with cocktails: the Lychee Martini and the Pooka Punch. Both were tasty. The martini was sweet and not strong, and the punch had a flavor profile similar to a Mai Tai. For the appetizer, we ordered the Onaga from the Crudo section. It was refreshing, and the beet garnish added a slightly sweet and unique touch. Next, we had the King Crab Pasta. The sauce was Uni (Sea Urchin) butter without cream, which was great for someone lactose intolerant like me. The pasta was freshly made in-house and cooked perfectly al dente. So good. Our main dish was the Branzino. It was fresh, delicious, and had plenty of meat for the two of us. The sauce complemented it well. For sides, we chose the Asparagus and the Crispy Garlic Potatoes. The asparagus was cooked just right, and the olive tapenade added a nice depth of flavor. The potatoes were similar to smashed potatoes -- crispy on the outside and very satisfying. Lastly, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. It was a wonderful experience overall. I'll definitely be back to try their steaks next time, along with other dishes.
