Parking can be challenging, in fact, super challenging. We went on a Saturday (the only day we could go) and there was no street parking. We saw some people illegally parked on the street right on the corner, but they didn't care, they would brave a citation just for these amazing treats! I am sure the neighbors who live across from this place think this is a massive headache, to have such a popular chocolate place right in their own neighborhood - either that, or a blessing, since they can just walk right across! There are 4 tiny stalls in the driveway in the front of the Doggie Bakery and this place, but it looks far too challenging to get in and out and onto the main street, which is insanely busy on a weekend. We parked in the neighboring lot and purchased something from another business just so we could get some chocolates here. If the parking situation were better, I'd come back. I purchased the Hokkaido Soft Serve (weekends only, I think), it was delicious but I was expecting more fatty mouthfeel for something that was labeled as "Hokkaido". It was lighter than I was expecting. The chocolates, on the other hand, were fabulous and worth every, expensive, penny. By the way, who the heck nowdays says "worth every penny"? Probably old folks like me who knew what a penny was, and now due to inflation and the Federal Reserve nixxing the penny, it's probably worth 0.0012 cents now. Rainbow Shave Ice - it really does taste like shave ice! I came here mainly for this, as I've heard the hype and the hype is real! Hibiki Whisky Chocolate - nice and lovely. I made the long drive from Kapolei to Choco Le'a to try their Hokkaido soft cream and to snag a few truffles for my husband and I to share. The shop itself is very small with near impossible parking. It is street parking in a residential area or 4 parking stalls in the lot that is shared with the dog grooming, chiropractor, etc. The Hokkaido soft cream was $6.99 (and my cup wasn't even fully filled at the bottom) + an additional $1.50 for toppings. While the soft cream is decent, I can tell you right away that the price point is not worth it. You could get a much larger portion + toppings at Baskin Robbins. I picked up some truffles as well and the price point on that is also outrageous. They have a set price for the packs and charge an additional cost if you would like to swap any of the truffles out for another flavor, which is not cool. I haven't tried any of the truffles yet as I am waiting to share them with my husband, but I am hoping they are worth the high cost that I paid. I will say that the girl who was helping me at the counter was very nice and I was happy with the service, just not the pricing for the quality. The outside of their truffles are shiny and have a satisfying bite to them. To be honest with you - I'm not a huge fan of chocolate or sweets. However, I saw that they had soft cream soft serve and that totally sparked my interest! I've tried their collab with sage creamery last year and that was by far one of my favorite flavors that I had to try this one! The flavors includes vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. You can also add on a drizzle of chocolate on the top for no extra charge. It is a personal serving for one person for $5. I got the swirl (no drizzle today) since I had my dog with me and I was scared that he might get a little taste. They also have a rewards program + a email list. I just received a email for a free truffle for my next visit. Their Special Hot cocoa mix, truffle boxes and their reverse crunch a le'a all are dangerous. I have yet to try their dark chocolate dipped fruit. 72% dark chocolate bars are heaven and dark chocolate is the healthiest chocolate. All chocolate is created by their chocolatiers. It's a small shop you might have a wait. Parking is street parking or across from their shop is an Aloha gas station. Don't forget to sign up for their emails. I have always heard of this wonderful place and was told they had some delicious truffles. Funny enough, this little hole in the wall isn't too far from where I reside and as a matter of fact, I frequent the area because of their wonderful neighbors who take care of the fur children. One item that definitely caught my eye was their seasonal pumpkin spice latte bomb. The truffles were perfection! There's a pop-up market at CPB main branch going on right now (5/6/22). Lots of cool stuff for Mother's Day! The chocolates at the Choco le'a table caught my eye when I first walked in. I got to try a sample of the dark chocolate. It was very good....smooth and not too bitter. I picked up a few boxes of the 4 piece Mama Bear Truffle boxes and one of their Signature Dark Chocolate bars. The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. The chocolates do need to be refrigerated if you're not eating them right away. I always see their shop when I visit Hawaii Doggie Bakery. I think I'll pick up some dark chocolate for myself the next time that I pick up doggie treats for our new puppy :) read more

A gem of a find! I ordered truffles for a gathering and everyone loved it. The truffles were a perfect balance between flavor, texture, softness and sweetness. It's a small operation with limited store hours. They however have online ordering and specific pick up dates/times. They provide detailed instructions on their site. I almost missed my pick up, which would have been completely my fault for not paying close attention to the instructions the first time I read it. Luckily, I went back and reread the instructions and all was well. I ordered online and found their communication and process seamless. Located in The Val - Manoa Valley - in what looks like a former residence that was situated on Lowrey Ave. Nice, clean shop (thankfully air-conditioned)...it has two outside tables for seating. Customer service is always fantastic here and every confection that I've been able to sample ( they certainly offer samples) has been delectable. Offer drinks and desserts that are chocolate based. They have gift boxes that are customizable and have a loyalty rewards. Went there this afternoon after viewing their IG photo of their Coffee Float. It looked so refreshing that I had to indulge myself. They get their coffee from next door - Morning Glass Coffee + Cafe. It was as good as it looked. Customer service is as great as on every visit to this local chocolatier. Godiva's is nice but it is always nicer to support a local, small business. Decided to get so truffles for my mom and myself. Located in a cute cottage looking building, Choco le'a oozes with charm from the outside. Inside there are chocolate dipped fruit, chocolate dipped macadamias, truffles, and le'a crunch. Samples are available but not for everything. We were offered a truffle sample early on and it got my mouth watering for chocolate goodies. I ended up getting a few bags of chocolate dipped fruit (pomelo and mango), matcha white chocolate covered macadamias, and a couple boxes of the chocolate le'a crunch. The chocolate le'a crunch is my husband's favorite. It's like a Hawaiian style rocky road candy filled with macadamias. I thought the matcha white chocolate macadamias were too salty for my taste. Yes, salty! I did like the dark chocolate dipped pomelo but don't think it would be something I'd crave. The dark chocolate dipped mango was tasty! They say good things come in small packages--that's definitely true of the dainty truffles and other confections, beautifully boxed by Choco le'a. I get excited whenever I open up one of their prepacked or custom made boxes. Each truffle is made in a candy mold, the distinctive shapes help you discern what deliciousness awaits, and it's all good. I've never had a truffle from them I didn't like. They are sweet--but not fake sugar, over the top sweet--and they come in a wide variety of flavors that melt in your mouth. The only bad part is how quickly they disappear. Chocolates from Choco le'a would be a special gift for anyone with a sweet tooth.
