Received a gift from Randy S. from here and what a treat. What started as Joyce wanting one truffle as a treat ended up with here demolishing the whole stash in one sitting. High praises considering Joyce doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. I too got to try the chocolates and wow. The quality was excellent and the flavors Randy chose were balanced. I especially liked the alcohol infused one. Just kept the white ribbon here to tie onto her laptop bag. The ribbon isn't anything extraordinary but the sentiment is. What an amazing gift. Definitely treats that make the recipient feel extremely special read more

You had me at Choco :) My Darling Angel gifted me with a custom 3-piece set because we know I don't want to over indulge...With much self control, I just reversed my pre diabetes! Anyway, on to my rewarding satisfaction of carefully hand crafted artisan dark chocolate. As timing should have it, their seasonal flavored truffle was Hibiki. Wow! Just wow! Big bold robust whiskey taste in this one. My Darling Angel knows I like coffee and Earl Grey, so those were the other two truffles in this custom gift set. So smooth! So creamy! So delicious! Thank you Choco Le'a for bringing peace to the world, one chocolate at a time. Seriously, we all need this! read more

Parking can be challenging, in fact, super challenging. We went on a Saturday (the only day we could go) and there was no street parking. We saw some people illegally parked on the street right on the corner, but they didn't care, they would brave a citation just for these amazing treats! I am sure the neighbors who live across from this place think this is a massive headache, to have such a popular chocolate place right in their own neighborhood - either that, or a blessing, since they can just walk right across! There are 4 tiny stalls in the driveway in the front of the Doggie Bakery and this place, but it looks far too challenging to get in and out and onto the main street, which is insanely busy on a weekend. We parked in the neighboring lot and purchased something from another business just so we could get some chocolates here. If the parking situation were better, I'd come back. I purchased the Hokkaido Soft Serve (weekends only, I think), it was delicious but I was expecting more fatty mouthfeel for something that was labeled as "Hokkaido". It was lighter than I was expecting. The chocolates, on the other hand, were fabulous and worth every, expensive, penny. By the way, who the heck nowdays says "worth every penny"? Probably old folks like me who knew what a penny was, and now due to inflation and the Federal Reserve nixxing the penny, it's probably worth 0.0012 cents now. Rainbow Shave Ice - it really does taste like shave ice! I came here mainly for this, as I've heard the hype and the hype is real! Hibiki Whisky Chocolate - nice and lovely. Dubai Chocolate - with gold leaf and everything. The Dubai craze is insane. This was good, but the least of my favorites. Six chocolates + one soft serve = $30. read more

Chocolate fact: In 1847, the British chocolate company J.S. Fry & Sons, led by Joseph Fry and his sons, created the first commercial chocolate bar. By mixing cocoa powder, sugar, and melted cocoa butter, they produced a moldable paste that solidified into a "chocolate délicieux à manger" (delicious chocolate to eat), revolutionizing the industry. Bringing peace to our world, one chocolate at a time. Got the sweetest gift from my Cycle Buddy, Randy S. There was a Spring Dubai Chocolate Bar, delicate mango slices dipped in chocolate, Classic Crunch a le'a (white chocolate, peanut butter, puffed rice cereal, marshmallows, toasted macadamia nuts, dark chocolate chips with a chocolate drizzle), and a trio of delicious truffles (one was definitely rainbow shave ice and two were these had an amazing Hibiki whisky filled center. read more

Hidden treat... Manoa has this cute spot tucked around the corner from Manoa Marketplace which can be easily missed as this cozy spot is quite tiny though prepared yourself from some crafted explosion once you enter their shop. With space for just a few folks to browse their massive display case home to majority of their treats all labeled with description of each item really doesn't help with making the decision of what exactly you came for which was me in a nutshell though knowing it wasn't just for me I wasn't prepared for items like the collab with Fujiya Hawaii with their yummy wafers a pink for Spring/Sakura in my opinion along with their white chocolate was a stunning work of art. Truffles with local vibes like their Rainbow Shave Ice that has the layered flavors, Lilikoi and even Birthday Cake makes celebrating any occasion or just some girls night fun and delicious. You can choose your favorites or a prepackaged box all are done with such care smiles galore are guaranteed. The staff here is just so friendly and helpful as I signed up for their loyalty program as returning here is something that I can see myself doing in the near future. Thank you! read more

My kids and I love stopping in Choco le'a to get a sweet treat. Our all around favorite is the shave ice and if you are lucky, you can bite into it and see the red and blue shave ice colors. I also recommend getting on their email list to see the different flavors they come out with: their booze filled ones are pretty good. The shop is small but their display of chocolate truffles and chocolate goodies is good. There are seats outside to enjoy your treats. Make sure to enjoy them quickly because they can get a bit stale if not enjoyed within a few days. Also, they are recommended to be refrigerated so make sure you have the ability-especially if traveling with them. Parking is out front on the street and sometimes you have to park further away. They have limited hours and we seem to always want to grab a piece of chocolate on Sunday. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program to earn free chocolate! read more

I made the long drive from Kapolei to Choco Le'a to try their Hokkaido soft cream and to snag a few truffles for my husband and I to share. The shop itself is very small with near impossible parking. It is street parking in a residential area or 4 parking stalls in the lot that is shared with the dog grooming, chiropractor, etc. The Hokkaido soft cream was $6.99 (and my cup wasn't even fully filled at the bottom) + an additional $1.50 for toppings. While the soft cream is decent, I can tell you right away that the price point is not worth it. You could get a much larger portion + toppings at Baskin Robbins. I picked up some truffles as well and the price point on that is also outrageous. They have a set price for the packs and charge an additional cost if you would like to swap any of the truffles out for another flavor, which is not cool. I haven't tried any of the truffles yet as I am waiting to share them with my husband, but I am hoping they are worth the high cost that I paid. I will say that the girl who was helping me at the counter was very nice and I was happy with the service, just not the pricing for the quality. There are 4 tables for outdoor seating directly outside the shop, but there is no covering so if it is windy, rainy, or very sunny, you are directly in the elements. Good luck eating your rapidly melting ice cream with a flat wooden spoon! read more

As a Manoa-raised local Chocole'a holds a special place in my heart. Their chocolates are so delicious and perfectly tempered. The outside of their truffles are shiny and have a satisfying bite to them. I love their selection of classic and local flavors~ Besides their truffles I've also gotten their chocolate drink which is rich and decadent. Highly recommend if you'd like a real indulgence. Their price point might be considered slightly high (two truffles for $6.50) but it's so worth it to support a small, local, artisan business and the quality of their products never waver. I never regret purchases from them. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. You can enjoy your treats with a view of the mountains. Absolutely no complaints. read more

Choco Le'a is a delightful gem - avoid the touristy chocolate and go get extremely high end goodies from these fine folks. I made them laugh with some well timed jokes and then fell in love with their craft - best Chocokate covered Oreo I've ever had! No idea how they do it but it was incredible. Got a box of 18 truffles - amazing! Debate on which chocolate was my favorite but leaning towards the mint although they were all incredibly delicious. Cute store, well appointed inside and nicely decorated outside. Staff was friendly and happy read more

Absolutely amazing customer service! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and asked if there was anything in particular we were looking for. The associate was really patient with us and took the time to explain what chocolates they had, drinks offered and mentioned that the soft-serve was available. My daughter and I decided to get some chocolates and the Iced Choco Le'a Chocolate Drink. The drinks were absolutely amazing and not too sweet.. We both got a variety of chocolates and I'm so happy I tried their most popular flavors along with a limited time flavor: Lilikoi, Triple Chocolate, Tiramisu, and Affogato. All of the chocolates were delicious and I'll definitely back to try the other flavors. If you're in the Manoa area, I highly recommend that you stop by for some amazing chocolates! read more

Amazing soft serve (served Saturdays only) made with Hokkaido cream. Delicious, interesting hand made chocolates. Just took off one star because it's pricey! $3.25 for one tiny piece of chocolate. I'm missing my their hot chocolate and chips!! However, I saw they have an iced chocolate drink!! Hello! I couldn't resist. They are all ready for Ty w holidays. Decorated the front so cutely! It's only Hawaii that one would get excited about an iced chocolate drink during the winter. If dark chocolate is your jam!! This is the place to satisfy your dark fix! I love that they pivoted and still offered an iced chocolate non-dairy drink (oat milk) and an iced chocolate tea. Ya'll know what hat that means right? I have to come back and try the their chocolate iced tea. I can't wait to try it. The only one I've tried is Twinnings chocolate tea. I'm looking forward to coming and trying it. They have al their Christmas favorites al packaged and ready for you to get as gifts. I bought the reverse chocolate crunch, and a hot chocolate mix. Today was a selfish visit. WARNING: addicting! Ok, if you eat chocolates from here you will never feel the same about the good old fashion Reese's or hersheys. This chocolate is smooth and decadent. Everything is so good! The crunch a lea is my favorite! The only downside is that everything is pricey and you cannot eat it on a weekly basis. I wish that I could! I like that they have holiday special menus. It makes for fun gifts. Looking forward to coming here again. There is an order online option for those that do not want to wait. read more

To be honest with you - I'm not a huge fan of chocolate or sweets. However, I saw that they had soft cream soft serve and that totally sparked my interest! I've tried their collab with sage creamery last year and that was by far one of my favorite flavors that I had to try this one! The flavors includes vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. You can also add on a drizzle of chocolate on the top for no extra charge. It is a personal serving for one person for $5. I got the swirl (no drizzle today) since I had my dog with me and I was scared that he might get a little taste. They also have a rewards program + a email list. I just received a email for a free truffle for my next visit. There is a cute patio outside too so just sit back and relax and enjoy your soft serve :) Parking is either on the street or in that shared parking lot with the dog groomers and Hawaii doggie bakery. I think it would totally be a cute idea to have some doggy snacks too since they're surrounding these businesses and Hawaii doggy bakery isn't always open as often as they used to. Service was super friendly too! I'm definitely going to come back to try all the diff flavors :) read more

Choco le'a at 2909 Lowrey Ave, Honolulu, HI 96822 I used to pass by this shop a lot after watching shows at Manoa Valley Theater, but never had the chance to visit until recently. I wish I had visited sooner because this spot ended up being one of my favorite places to get chocolate. My dad and I got their 4pc truffle set! The flavors we picked out were: Lilikoi, Affogato, Mint Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream! The chocolate was tempered perfectly, as it had a beautiful crunch to it and a generous amount of filling. Each description for the truffles were spot on as the specific flavors shined through without it overpowering the chocolate experience. I cannot wait to come back again to try their icecream, now that they are back in stock again! The staff were nice and patient as they explained to us what flavors they had. They were well-knowledged in what they were selling. It is a small shop, so expect to grab-and-go, as there is only a couple of spots to sit at. read more

Want something special and sweet for a gift or party and different from the shortbread cookies that we typically give each other here in Hawaii? I was happy to find my classy party favors here at this cute and charming artisanal chocolate shop specializing in truffles. The chocolates, possibly the best and most refined locally made, are smooth, rich and beautifully crafted. They're petite but concentrated in flavor. You can purchase boxes in a variety of sizes ranging from a single chocolate for $2.99, box of 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 or 18 pieces for $54.99. To customize flavors you must pay extra. The chocolates are displayed in order of popularity starting with the triple chocolate as #1. In addition to their traditional flavors, they also have specialty flavors including birthday cake, lava flow, and shave ice which is rainbow colored inside and comes with a pineapple imprint on the top that sold me. It's amazing how they are able to distill and recreate familiar flavors into a little truffle. They come with a little menu that names each truffle. The store also serves samples of some of their other items. My two favorite truffles of the few I tried were the lilikoi and butterscotch liqueur. They serve samples but not of the truffles. They also have some seasonal items for Halloween right now if you want exclusive gourmet "candy". read more

Cute place and Mosa (beautiful)! Ice cream and peanuts is awesome. You gotta try the crepe wrap. Great service too. Coming back soon!

I have always heard of this wonderful place and was told they had some delicious truffles. Funny enough, this little hole in the wall isn't too far from where I reside and as a matter of fact, I frequent the area because of their wonderful neighbors who take care of the fur children. In this little cute shop, you are greeted with a showcase full of delicious treasures with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The staff were nice enough to provide me a sample: a little token of their solid dark chocolate. The chocolate melted in my mouth and craved for more. I decided to try out a few truffles: salted caramel, pb & j, snickers, Reeses, and pink starburst. I also decided to be nice and purchase a chocolate covered Oreo for the BF. One item that definitely caught my eye was their seasonal pumpkin spice latte bomb. The truffles were perfection! I was caught by surprise how their take on snickers & Reeses were actually better than the originals! Each truffle were packed with so much flavor which complimented with the chocolate. I definitely recommend this little shop if you are in the Manoa area! A few downfalls are that the shop is open on certain days, parking might be a little challenge, and the truffles are so good that you won't realize you ate them all that you'll need to go back again and refill your truffle stash. read more

In a world with sub par chocolate options Choco le'a is wonderful. Everything I have tasted to date has been excellent. Their Special Hot cocoa mix, truffle boxes and their reverse crunch a le'a all are dangerous. I have yet to try their dark chocolate dipped fruit. 72% dark chocolate bars are heaven and dark chocolate is the healthiest chocolate. All chocolate is created by their chocolatiers. The chocolates here were beautifully presented, shop is cute, and unbeatable customer service. However, if you're not into dark chocolate, this place isn't for you. No milk, white "chocolate", matcha, etc. The prices were definitely steep for the small amount you really get. I tried the soft serve with chocolate drizzle. For a super small cup, it was over $5. It's a small operation with limited store hours. They however have online ordering and specific pick up dates/times. They provide detailed instructions on their site. I almost missed my pick up, which would have been completely my fault for not paying close attention to the instructions the first time I read it. I've been to this chocolatier a few times...whether to get gifts for others or to gift myself. Located in The Val - Manoa Valley - in what looks like a former residence that was situated on Lowrey Ave. Nice, clean shop (thankfully air-conditioned)...it has two outside tables for seating. Customer service is always fantastic here and every confection that I've been able to sample ( they certainly offer samples) has been delectable. Offer drinks and desserts that are chocolate based. They have gift boxes that are customizable and have a loyalty rewards. Went there this afternoon after viewing their IG photo of their Coffee Float. It looked so refreshing that I had to indulge myself. They get their coffee from next door - Morning Glass Coffee + Cafe. It was as good as it looked. Customer service is as great as on every visit to this local chocolatier. Godiva's is nice but it is always nicer to support a local, small business. Decided to get so truffles for my mom and myself. I'm always on the lookout for different goodies to take back to the mainland. My friend suggested Coco le'a since we were already in Manoa. Located in a cute cottage looking building, Choco le'a oozes with charm from the outside. Inside there are chocolate dipped fruit, chocolate dipped macadamias, truffles, and le'a crunch. Samples are available but not for everything. We were offered a truffle sample early on and it got my mouth watering for chocolate goodies. I ended up getting a few bags of chocolate dipped fruit (pomelo and mango), matcha white chocolate covered macadamias, and a couple boxes of the chocolate le'a crunch. The chocolate le'a crunch is my husband's favorite. It's like a Hawaiian style rocky road candy filled with macadamias. I thought the matcha white chocolate macadamias were too salty for my taste. Yes, salty! I did like the dark chocolate dipped pomelo but don't think it would be something I'd crave. The dark chocolate dipped mango was tasty! Because I went a little overboard in my purchases, I got a free cooler bag. Super cute and nice touch! I ended up using it to carry my Choco Le'a goodies home to the mainland. Prices are a little high but I liked the pretty packaging and appreciate the fact that everything is locally sourced. Service was pleasant and helpful.
