A friend brought some frozen sorbet at our gathering. Got the strawberry flavor. I have a "sweet tooth " but this is too sweet for me

After we bought some of the mousse, my dad and i were a bit worried about it melting, as we still wanted to walk around the event and eat.

A night in Kaka'ako is always a fun place to explore, and just be entertained!…read more The Honolulu Night Market at Our Kaka'ako is indeed a fabulous adventure into the biggest street/block party filled to the brim with all things local...food, retail and culture. I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! I remember pre-pandemic Yelp had a booth here and hoping as things return to normalcy that we'll see it back again one day (hint hint!) Absolutely love this Honolulu Night Market as it offers so many cultural coolness that you can't find anywhere else! Thank you!

There was some live music, but it seemed more like a quick stop for tourists rather than a real night market. I didn't try any food because the atmosphere wasn't appealing, so I left quickly.

Love this market!…read more Supporting small local biz who show the love of Hawai'i and the culture in their own way showcasing an impressive collection of items is what makes this market so special. Like many other markets who seems to be trying to find a place Ho'omau Hawai'i Market has been shopping around and I think I do love this current location at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom which was tricky to find if you're not paying attention like me as the ballroom sits on the 6th floor of the parking building so it's super convenient along with parking is validated at $10 flat rate which the staff was just so friendly to explain it all is nice. Happening over the following Black Friday weekend (Nov 26th & 27th), many are familiar and a few that is new to me browsing around in the cool air conditioning ballroom made the shopping experience nice. Weather it's picking up cute Turkish Towels and glassware from Kris Hawaii, Mamaki tea from Kihene, or my cravings at 'Ulu Chips and Hummus and many offered such great deal along with entertainment is such a calming vibe that has me shopping much more than I expected and the uniqueness is what makes this market so special. Thank you!

I just adore a crafty mind!…read more As a major crafter myself I love finding the creativity and boldness they all take to the next level is just inspiring. The amazing joy I find is that no two market is alike, as this December 2022 at Ward Village event was held in the former Pier 1 location next to Nordstrom Rack. I had a blast exploring @AdamJK uniqueness as each of us loved the realness we can relate to each item weather a time that says shhhh, I got a stress ball that says "Nothing Matters" and I'd really like the hat "I really don't know what I'm doing" for work lol!! His spirit was just so fun and bright :-) My other delight was One Shabby Chick @oneshabbychickhawaii and unknowingly my first tote from her was a collaboration with @makelemonadeproject a non profit to ease financial burdens and going though it myself instantly got me so of course I needed another tote! So many fun gifting ideas, Bas bookshop, jewelry ad even a random give away "fingers crossed" this pet friendly market has something for all. Follow Art + Flea @artandflea to keep updated on their events, crafty retail therapy is a real Art form! Thank you!

October 30, 2014 I took my family to the Art and Flea event…read more I caught the bus with my daughter and foster child. We met Darcie who parked her car in the Ward Warehouse parking lot. We walked across the street to the back portion behind Marukai. Admission was $3 for the adults. The two kids were free. There were food booths but we saved our hunger for Goma Tei in the Ward Center. I jumped on the bike that helped power the KTUH sound stage. I got a free bag from Kaleo newspaper. It had some cool goodies inside. At the Yelp booth, Raelyn played a trivia game. I won a Yelp thermos. Many vendors were set up in a two-story warehouse. We picked up some cool young women's clothes at a terrific discount. Andy Lee was making his art and kindly gave us a free sample. All in all a pretty good night for a family get-together or outing. Also, it seemed very pet friendly even though the theme was Tokyo. During some bedtime talk we agreed that this event was more art than flea, but the flea bargains were indeed great.

Popping up around town…read more.. If you haven't heard then you're missing out cause Yuji Sushi is the freshest catch you can find and the latest location was at the Art + Flea now located at the Capitol Modern and as much as I'd love to gatekeep this event wonderful local biz like this needs to be showcased. I took my bestie for our very belated outing and as much as an introvert she is she's a wonderful exploring pal to have with you as we did so when we stumbled on to Yuji Sushi where you can find his "Musubi Sushi" which is a 1600's style Tokyo sushi which is quite the chubs in those days though I find it quite adorable as the rice (which is from Rice Factory btw) is more rounded and is topped with shiso micro greens, pickles and a wasabi sauce. We ordered the Bluefin Tuna and King Salmon I chose to have all the toppings while hers was naked lol watching him build each one is fun to see and though this more informal pop up felt like a fancy omakase as it was all dressed up and ready for a bunch of pics as it was so cute. Let me tell you that was such a light and refreshing bite and to say that for a sushi tells you something and what a fun and cool way to feel fancy the slice of fish was quite generous along with a light brushing of sauce gave it a extra flair as we ate them with pinkies up it was a nice an enjoyable experience that made us smile. You can certainly find him at Fishcake as well so check their calendar so that you don't miss the chance of this hand crafted goodness. Thank you!

My wife attended a "Pop Up Makeke"event and purchased an outfit from Lotus & Lime for an up coming event she would be attending. Upon getting her outfit ready for the event, she noticed two holes in the material. My wife called "Pop Up Makeke" because all transactions when through them. The lady from Pop Up Makeke was trying to get this resolved but Kim the owner of Lotus & Lime was not willing to do anything. My wife also sent pictures of the holes through Pop Up Makeke and Kim said the holes should be there. What?!? My wife then talked to Davis Price from Pop Up Makeke who was really rude to her and made her cry. Kim did not try to reach out to my wife and never answered my wife's phone calls. If you're ever at an event and see Lotus & Lime there, check your items really well because they will not back their clothing!! Some of my wife's friends said that they didn't purchase anything from Lotus & Lime because Kim was very rude. BEWARE!!!!

I purchased a couple pieces of clothing from the pop up and was pleasantly surprised at the price and quality of the items. $59 for pants, and roughly the same price for a kimono wrap.
