Ku'ulei's Delight with Szechuan Cream Cheese
    Krystal C.

A staple for our Farmers Market runs! I always look forward to getting a bagel sammie from here and the cashier always gives the best recommendations for pairings. My favorite has to be either the Par 5 or Ku'ulei's Delight. I recently swapped the Honey Goat Cream Cheese with the Szechuan Cream Cheese but the OG recipe will always have my heart with the Luau Bagel. If you haven't already, come check 'em out

Turkey, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and some sort of cranberry sauce.

This bagel sandwich was wet, slimy, doughy, and unappetizing. I specifically asked if it was toasted and was told it was. It clearly came untoasted. Was inedible, will not patronize this place again.

The wait was a little unexpected but not crazy enough for me to cancel my order. Although there were people saying that they've been waiting for a long time. I got a plain bagel with hazelnut and inamosa spread (I hope that's right).. it's kukuinut crushed and mixed with hazelnut. The bagel itself is nice and chewy but there was an onion flavor when biting into the bagel. I'm not sure if they use the same knife to cut the vegetables for the savory bagels but it was not pleasant. The spread was surprisingly overly salty.. I was expecting a nice chocolate flavor but it was overpoweringly salty and not really a chocolate flavor. I rated it a 2 because I think the bagel is nice and chewy.. absolutely delicious! However, I wouldn't order a bagel with the hazelnut spread again.

The Old Man and the Sea Sandwich on an Everything Bagel

Best bagels you'll find on island, hands down. Big Time Bagels takes me back to NYC while beautifully integrating local ingredients. I ordered the Old Man and the Sea on an everything bagel, expecting the fish of the day (Ono) to be cooked as typically served. To my surprise and delight, I was thrilled to have smoked Ono to go along with the capers, red onions, sea vegetables , and "schmeah", serving a localized version of the traditional lox and fixings. It can be a bit of a wait, but give them a shot.

A bag of happiness- half dozen of the finest bagels

Love my bagel sammie "The becky" honestly service was all smiles and quick as hell. I rocketed out of there with 2 bagel sammies and a half dozen in less than 15mins. Worth it always. Definitely the spot at the farmers market!

Best bagels on the island! If you're at the Kailua farmers market on Sunday, you MUST stop by.

Like many other markets who seems to be trying to find a place Ho'omau Hawai'i Market has been shopping around and I think I do love this current location at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom which was tricky to find if you're not paying attention like me as the ballroom sits on the 6th floor of the parking building so it's super convenient along with parking is validated at $10 flat rate which the staff was just so friendly to explain it all is nice. Happening over the following Black Friday weekend (Nov 26th & 27th), many are familiar and a few that is new to me browsing around in the cool air conditioning ballroom made the shopping experience nice. Weather it's picking up cute Turkish Towels and glassware from Kris Hawaii, Mamaki tea from Kihene, or my cravings at 'Ulu Chips and Hummus and many offered such great deal along with entertainment is such a calming vibe that has me shopping much more than I expected and the uniqueness is what makes this market so special. The amazing joy I find is that no two market is alike, as this December 2022 at Ward Village event was held in the former Pier 1 location next to Nordstrom Rack. I had a blast exploring @AdamJK uniqueness as each of us loved the realness we can relate to each item weather a time that says shhhh, I got a stress ball that says "Nothing Matters" and I'd really like the hat "I really don't know what I'm doing" for work lol!! His spirit was just so fun and bright :-) My other delight was One Shabby Chick @oneshabbychickhawaii and unknowingly my first tote from her was a collaboration with @makelemonadeproject a non profit to ease financial burdens and going though it myself instantly got me so of course I needed another tote! So many fun gifting ideas, Bas bookshop, jewelry ad even a random give away "fingers crossed" this pet friendly market has something for all. Follow Art + Flea @artandflea to keep updated on their events, crafty retail therapy is a real Art form! Thank you!

We walked across the street to the back portion behind Marukai. Admission was $3 for the adults. The two kids were free. There were food booths but we saved our hunger for Goma Tei in the Ward Center. I jumped on the bike that helped power the KTUH sound stage. I got a free bag from Kaleo newspaper. It had some cool goodies inside. At the Yelp booth, Raelyn played a trivia game. I won a Yelp thermos. Many vendors were set up in a two-story warehouse. We picked up some cool young women's clothes at a terrific discount. Andy Lee was making his art and kindly gave us a free sample. All in all a pretty good night for a family get-together or outing. Also, it seemed very pet friendly even though the theme was Tokyo. During some bedtime talk we agreed that this event was more art than flea, but the flea bargains were indeed great.
