I've been wanting to come here for months! I finally had the opportunity to! I'm so happy I did!…read moreThere was so much to choose from-pastries and drinks! My hubby missed out! Great excuse to go again! There was a line, but it moved quickly. You could tell which items were popular cuz their spot was empty. However, they were quickly replaced. Everything was delicious!!! I did bring some items to share with coworkers. I bought my breakfast and lunch from this quaint bakery. It took me back to my visit to Japan! Loved it! Will definitely be back!!!

I needed to occupy myself after I dropped hubs off for his first cataract surgery…read more After doing some retail therapy at NR I had half an hour to spare. Hubs had to fast from 6 am for his 2 pm surgery so I thought he would probably be starving and would enjoy a delectable salt and butter roll from here. At $4.50 a piece I consider this a luxury for us. I found a close stall in the parking structure. A very cheerful polite male employee took my order. I had seen two occupied tables as I walked into the shop. Both had matcha drinks. Why not? I asked the young man assisting me, what's the best matcha drink? He said his favorite was banana matcha with extra banana foam. Okay I'll try it. He repeated it to the cashier. So popular there was a wait for beverages to be prepared. Soon enough mine was ready. I think Doc would enjoy this drink. This shop is a working bakery. Many yummy pastries displayed. Menu is posted high up above to choose from. Rather tiny shop with room for customers to stand in line to order and wait for drinks. Clean, busy with a few tables and chairs outside but pretty much in direct sun.

One cannot skip having malasadas from Leonard's when in Hawaii!…read more There was construction going on so parking was a little challenging. There's no place to sit so be ready to take the treats somewhere to enjoy. There was a line outside but they had a system so we did not have to wait too long to get our bright pink box of goodness. Malasadas are these Portuguese fried dough pastries rolled in sugar. We tried the original, cinnamon sugar, custard, and guava. Each one was delicious and best shared with family over a cup of coffee.

The curry was alright. The prices are great, I felt like they deserved to make what they were charging. There is plenty of parking. This is a bakery so you can just take a pastry to go or you can wait to sit down at the counter and order food to eat there. I'd definitely recommend doing both. If you go during off times you'll have a better chance of not needing to wait for a seat. Come here for the pancakes!!

It has that fruity lilikoi flavor and it's cake-like. I will definitely get this from now on. The worker noted it's a staff favorite. Service: we got there at around 8:55am on a Tuesday. The line wasn't too bad and took us about 20 minutes. Ambiance: there's not a lot of seating, but it's pretty quick so usually we're able to snag an outside table.

Once you step in the smell of fresh bread instantly fills the air. Located in the Times Arcade Mall on Beretania, there is plenty of parking in front of the bakery. Whenever I go I always get their Curry Pan, Apple Muffin, Shio Butter roll, and White Bread. Curry Pan: nice crispy exterior, soft bread interior and good Japanese curry filling Muffins: light flavoring and airy, not dense Shio Butter Roll: good balance of salt and butter. It may look plain but it packs a lot of flavor. White Bread: soft, buttery and they can slice the bread to your desired thickness

It's pretty nostalgic when you are able to take your baby to one of your favorite bakeries growing…read moreup I remember growing up and coming here with my mom to pick up an assortment of things. She would sometimes have ham rolls and raisin breadsticks waiting for us afterschool. My coworker said they have the best croissants on island. They are indeed very similar to those I've had in Paris. My favorites from Epi-Ya? The custard pudding! While plentiful in Tokyo, not very many establishments will make or sell custard pudding. Because of this, I would get one almost everyday when visiting Japan The bread is baked fresh daily and everything is much lower in price (compared to other bakeries) It's always busy, so that just goes to show that the community also enjoys this beloved patisserie. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

Parking can be a little challenging, but there's an easy solution: just park in the municipal lot across the street and save yourself the hassle. I think the meat changes but it's usually some slice of meat rather than a sausage or bacon and there's also cooked greens on there that are a little different. The croissant items I've had have all been really good. Today I tried the quiche and it was very good and had a really tasty croissant crust. The egg and ricotta in there was really creamy and custard like. Mushrooms were good but I wonder if this would be even better with Hamakua mushrooms? It would mesh well with their use of local ingredients. The one negative is that the $3.75 coffee was TINY. Granted if you eat there I think you can refill it but kind of a rip off if you're getting things to go. The meat is all pretty pricy but it's local stuff so that's cool. There's also some unique things that you probably can't find elsewhere. I was excited to see venison pastrami and venison liver mousse. Hoping to try some of that stuff soon!

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. When fresh it crunches with every bite that you take. This time around we had the cinnamon roll, mango danish which had a chocolate mochi filling, and their char siu bun. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness. For the cinnamon roll, you honestly cannot forget get their cinnamon roll...It's flaky and again the frosting is not overly sweet. Can't wait to get another box of their pastries again soon.

The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. Loco Moco came with 2 eggs, hamburger meat, and rice with gravy. Nothing special about this dish. NY steak and eggs were okay. The steak was a bit dry and the eggs not scrambled (per request) but in a rectangular roll that's wet. The banana short stack (2 pancakes) was good but a whooping $17.95! Hawaiian rolls were complimentary. They were warm and came with a red syrup to dip. OJ was not fresh and most likely from a Tropicana can. Coffee was generous. I ordered one cup but was given a whole jug! The bakery has many pastries including their famous cream puffs. Those were good but not extraordinary. The host took a while to seat us when we got there. The cafe wasn't even busy and yet no one greeted us or seated us for a good 10 minutes. Our server was cordial but seemed unenthusiastic. The patio was nice if you wanted fresh air. Beware kf birds trying to steal your food! These birds were fearless hopping onto our table and next to our plates. I'd skip this place and try other eateries in the area. Grab a coffee and possibly pastries elsewhere.
