I ordered scones from them via door dash. Their option for a box of scones says 12-15 scones, depending on the size of scones that will fit in the box. I requested to have the smaller sized scones, so we could have 15. I received a phone call saying only 12 scones fit in the box, and if I wanted 15, I'd have to order 3 separate scones. I pre ordered two days in advance, and said that 12 was fine, I'll order more if I have to. I'm assuming the person who called, did not relay the message. I received a door dash message at 630am saying the same thing as the phone call. My delivery time was 8:10-8:20 am ... the scones were not ready for pick up until 8:20! My meeting starts at 9am, when I needed the scones... Needless to say, I hope they're tasty. However do not order on door dash from them. They are communicative with their customers though. I purchased a surprise bag and got a pumpkin chocolate chip bread. A blue berry scone and a Ube muffin with coconut, please try it. If you like Ube and coconut. I didn't get to try the bread which I was hoping to get in my surprise bag. I usually get my bread at Whole Foods or the bread shop. Unfortunately the surprise bag is something that is about to get old so they sell them at a discount. I probably won't do this again since it is like day old pastries and not bread. I know it can be anything but I was disappointed because I didn't get to try their bread. I would say it was average only because I wouldn't purchase what I got that day. read more

Takeout lunch from Kahala, Honolulu, Hawaii... I've passed by this business many times and thought it was just a bread shop. Gosh... it's not! When my friends, Deborah and Gabriel, got sandwiches the other day, I made it a point to visit Great Harvest Bread and get a sandwich, too! I told my sister where I was going and asked her if she wanted something. She chose Pastrami and said that her daughter likes ham and cheese. Okay! My sister also said that there was a location in downtown that she used to patronize. Ahhh... that one is no longer there. I saw that there is a second location in Kailua. This Kahala location is for takeout only. The free shared parking is much appreciated! Inside the cozy shop, there were two efficient, friendly, hardworking staff. They took turns manning the cash register and assembling the sandwiches. I got the ham sandwich with cheddar cheese on wheat for my niece and a hummus veggie sandwich on sourdough bread for me. I didn't see Pastrami on the menu, so I asked for it. The gal asked if I wanted a Ruben and I said, "Yes!" The Reuben sandwich might be a special order because my sister and I didn't see it on the menu. It was really good with sauerkraut filling and toasted rosemary garlic bread! My sister encouraged my niece to try the Reuben because she likes tart flavors and our dad liked sauerkraut, too! Of course, my niece liked it! Picked up some sandwiches for lunch after spending a couple of hours next door at the Keiki Republic Kahala. I've been to the Kailua location several times and their bread is freshly made, as well as the bakery goods. They offer free slices of their Cinnamon Chip bread to kids, while available, which is great for them to munch on while waiting for the sandwiches to be made. The sandwiches are all made to order, so they do take a while, but they're all delicious. I had wanted to get the Turkey Pesto sandwich but they were out, so opted for the Classic sandwich with chicken and Swiss. We also ordered the grilled cheese for baby, and another Classic with roast beef, and a Cubano. They were all excellent. I don't eat as much bread as I used to but was in the area so walked in to see what they had. Bought a loaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread and a round of cinnamon chip bread. The cinnamon chip bread was okay but too big and ended up giving away part of it. But I loved the pumpkin chocolate chip bread so much I've gone back several times. It's really delicious! They have a schedule of when they make certain breads but I've been lucky enough to hit it when they have this bread in stock. I've been to Great Harvest bakeries on the mainland, especially in Minneapolis and they carry different breads. I liked a sunflower seed bread and some giant chocolate chip cookies, but I've not seen them here at this bakery. But as long as they keep baking the pumpkin chocolate bread, I'm good. read more

Great Harvest has been in this location for so very many years. I think of it as the place you go to after fasting and taking a blood test to save you from a drop in blood sugar. My favorite item is the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. No matter the season they will always have pumpkin. Great Harvest does specials for holidays such as an April Fools treat. I picked up a colorful blue muffin that tasted warm, fluffy, banana chocolate flavored. Delicious! Love the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for an energy pick me up. Warm and fresh out of the oven. Scones with a dab of jam changes flavors frequently. There's always something different to sample. The staff are very nice and more traditional in service. We had planned on going to Maui for a Thanksgiving vacation/dinner with family, and placed an online order for 4 loaves of their super yummy "Stuffing Bread". When we arrived at the Kahala store to pick up our bread, I found out the bread was still in the oven and would not be out and cooled for another hour. We had a tight schedule packing and getting ready for the flight to Maui, and owner Patrick said he would deliver the bead loaves to my house prior to us leaving for the airport. Who ever hears of this type of service?? Patrick was a man of his word and he delivered the bread and we made it to the airport on time. My aunty purchase us some sandwiches from here today for lunch and it was delicious. I had a hummus sandwich without onions and my daughter had a bbq chicken cheddar melt. All of the ingredients were very fresh and it was a nice size portion as well. She also bought us muffins, chocolate chip scones and some of those huge cookies! I was too full from lunch so I didn't try any of the baked goods yet but my daughter ate the muffin and scone and she liked them both. I made soup the other night and we thought it would go great with some sourdough bread to dip it in. Honestly I wanted to try another bread place but their ordering system and supply makes it difficult to get what you want. So I had to find another place on Yelp. Great Harvest popped up. I called ahead to make sure they still had since it was late in the afternoon. The clerk said they did so I rushed over to go get some. Even though it was the end of the day, they still had a great selection of breads. The sourdough wasn't on the rack by where the customers can just grab and go, instead it was behind the counter. I got two loaves, just in case. Great Harvest even gives the option to slice. Thought that was great. I did one loaf slices and one without. I took it home and paired it with our soup. It went together perfectly. We had the sliced loaf for dinner. It's a good thing I bought two loaves. The first loaf disappeared and the second loaf was used for the next night. Years ago, I bought these cookies at the store near Pearlridge Mall. I was devastated when the location was replaced by Starbucks. Years later, Recently, we discovered the Kahala location while looking for parking for Assagio Bistro. Imagine how good a cookie has to be to not even need to be on the menu and be a top seller. Here is another business that I haven't patronized in a long time. In my previous job, meeting with clients was a large part of maintaining assets and generating business. When meeting with some clients who reside in the Kahala area, my associate and I would often stop by this Great Harvest Bread (GHB) and pick up their delicious baked goodies. I first recall eating this bread when a colleague would buy a loaf and share it with us when GHB used to have a location in Merchant St but it abruptly shut down in April 2017. Some history of GHB - - They started back in 1976 in Montana and now has over 200 locations in the USA. There are currently 2 stores in Hawaii: this Kahala location and one in Lihue, Kauai. I had to run an errand for work but came to a rude awakening when the sign was posted "Closed between 1230pm to 1pm on the 3rd Thursday." and guess what? It was the 3rd Thursday of the month during this specific time frame. With over 30 minutes to kill, we look up to find GHB and Petland, where GHB got our attention. We haven't had lunch yet so we were "semi hangry" and that can be dangerous if not attended to. As I entered GHB, you could smell the aroma of fresh baked bread and I started to check out the racks of prepackaged breads and loafs. I also saw a sandwich making station along a showcase with assorted scones, bars and muffins. I intentionally wasn't going to buy anything until my colleague bought a cinnamon chip loaf and asked the staff to give me a sample. The next thing I know the staff asked me what type of butter I wanted. After one bite I was SOLD. The bread is dense compared with what I am used to eating and the flavors come in very distinct. Another different sample was given to me and that did the trick. I ended up buying 2 loaves of bread (1 sweet and 1 savory) and 2 different energy bars. They have a rewards program where they keep a record of your purchases electronically and will eligible for free items after reaching that goal. All you do is sign up and enter your mobile number in the future. Overall, I was glad to be reunited with GHB and can see myself coming for breads and sandwiches in the future. Great product paired with great service will have your consumer come back for more. Here's where to find a bountiful HARVEST of healthy and delectable treats! Great Harvest Bread is a place I've always seen from the freeway driving westbound from Hawaii Kai. You can't miss it; it's in the first strip mall at the Kahala cutoff where the freeway begins. I finally stepped foot in the bakery after a mandatory visit to DLS, thanks to school, and what better reward than some bakery goods? Upon entrance to the bakery, I was enthusiastically greeted by the staff. After browsing at the selection and asking some questions, I settled on: - blueberry cream cheese scones ($3.90): great proportion of blueberries to cream cheese! - banana almond scones ($3.90): great proportion of overripe banana to almond butter. The difference with their scones (& all other breads + muffins) is that they are made with whole wheat flour sourced from Montana. There's definitely a lot more grains in the dough, and it makes a great difference. That being said, I can't really compare their scones to other bakeries because other bakeries use all-purpose flour. I also got the lilikoi bars ($3.50) which were more sweet than tart. Not used to that, but it was delicious! These treats are priced really well for the value. Like, they're huge for the price, so I was really happy with that. Best part? These treats were a hit among both my family and my boyfriend's family. Be back again when I find myself in Kahala! Really pleased with this harvest. 4.5/5 :) read more

Very disappointed with my sandwich. I honestly can make a better one at home. The bread fell apart as I was eating it, telling me it was older than 1 day. Not returning for sandwich's here....at least not on Sundays at 1pm. The guy who made my sandwich was not a good sandwich maker. You don't want to see my daughters roast beef, she didn't want anything on her sandwich except for lettuce and meat. No extra lettuce, no extra anything! I couldn't believe I paid $9.05 for hers! I used to love coming to Great Harvest after class during my high school days. Haven't been here in over three years, and when I finally did, I was a little disappointed, because it's not as good as I remember. I remember before, as soon as I stepped in, the workers would offer samples of their amaaaaazing cinnamon chip bread, pizza bread, scone, or cookie. This time, although there were two workers and one customer being helped, and we got a greeting but no offers for the bread. We spent some time looking around to figure out what we wanted, and after deciding on the cinnamon bread (duh) and the cinnamon chip scone, we stood near the free sample area to try some of their other breads. I think we were there for a good 4 minutes before we were finally acknowledged, and it took another few minutes until one of the workers finally helped us with our request. Perhaps they changed their policy, where you have to purchase something before trying a sample, but that seems a little counterintuitive to if you ask me The samples were delicious - I usually opt for the cinnamon bread, but since we had already decided to purchase a loaf, the worker recommended the cinnamon apple instead. Same soft, chewy bread but with lil bits of apple. I tried the honey vanilla and cinnamon butter, both which were very good and not too sweet. I actually may go back for that Honey Vanilla Butter soon. I ate the cinnamon chip scone when I got home, and was mildly disappointed. It wasn't a bad scone per say, it just wasn't as fluffy, moist, and full of cream cheese like I remember. The food is great we went in on Sunday to check out the bread and we received samples on the blueberry cheesecake muffin the orange cream muffin and the Irish soda bread. Was so wonderful tasting we bought the Irish Soda Bread, the Rosemary Garlic bread and a six pack of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I know back in da dayz, Great Harvest Bread Company use to have a shop in downtown Honolulu (besides the Kahala location), but checking the Great Harvest Bread company web site, it appears that the Kahala location is the only store on Oahu. As for the neighbor islands..........there is a shop on Kauai at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center. Rest-a-sure, when you come to Great Harvest Bread Company you will get a high quality baked product! Be careful now..........some of the items are so good, it can be highly addictive! The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I bought recently was as good as I remembered them to be! Visiting from the mainland I've been to a few of the Great Harvest (Louisville, Albuquerque) and was happy to see that I could visit one in Honolulu. That being said, we went into the restaurant and was disappointed that nobody seemed to have time to give samples or chat up what you're offering. They seemed to have to slice up existing loaves and really didn't want to interact with us since they had other chores. My guests we brought with were confused on how many types of bread they have, and we were shown to look on the "daily list" instead of explaining what was available. When we ordered sandwiches, we still were confused and they said "we suggest the herb bread for all sandwiches " so we all got that, but it took a lot of the fun of having different tastes of the breads. The sandwiches were decent enough, but what happened to the interaction between vendor and customer? I ended up taking home 2 cinnamon rolls, bread pudding and a power bar based on past experience hoping for the best? Dry cinnamon rolls. The bread pudding was ok.
