Since today was Sunday I figured free street parking so why not check out Paris Baguette located downtown. This location was their first and it's located on Bishop St. heart of downtown financial district . I remembered when they first opened it was always crowded not anymore . My go to is their Ham and cheese croissant it's very crispy on the outside and the inside is nice a buttery. I believe there's cheese on the outside as well because when you first bite into it it's very crunchy. No very big Bakery I'm sure it gets crowded very fast when there a lot of customers. Service was not great no one greeted me until I came to the counter . Normally someone who's stocking the pastry will ask if there's any question or can they help me with something. It's ok I've noticed they hire lot of young people that could be the problem? . I'm OG so I'm very customer service oriented and no matter what if you provide good customer service people will always come back.

Paris Baguette is a bakery-cafe located on Bishop Street, where the old Starbucks use to be. They're part of a Korean chain, specializing in freshly baked cakes, sweet and savory pastries and coffee beverages. We stopped by on a busy weekend morning and waited in the quickly moving line to fill our tray with pastries. With more hungry customers slowly lining up behind us, we grabbed a curry croquette, crab meat croquette, hash brown pastry, hot dog pastry and chocolate croissant. Once at the register, we ordered a Korean iced coffee to share. We waited a short while outside as the staff prepared our coffee and warmed up our savory baked goods. There are a few covered tables outside of the bakery but we grabbed our breakfast and crossed the street to enjoy our meal in the grassy Tamarind Park. Over all a cute cafe in the middle of downtown Honolulu. Definitely try to order in advance online to avoid the line.

It's a "quä-sawn" . Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I'm bakery bound -- dunananananaa Staring blankly ahead, just making my way, making a way thru the morning coffee craa-aa-aowd -- dunananananaa and I need food -- dunununununu something sweet too -- dunununununu and now I wonnnnder... . A great bakery choice if you're within walking distance! Pastries can be reheated upon request - try it for the savory ones - like their curry croquets (: I'm strictly partial to their baked goods and matcha lattes - yes, moi is basic - and I've been happy with my picks. Tho, I tried the cutest sprinkled pink holiday donut that was thoughtfully shared w/ me the other day... pas bon, the heartbreak. . Everything looks delectable in their big display cases. But even with just a few guests inside, the glass can quickly feel like walls. Avoid the morning workday rush. . c'est la vie

Paris Baguette is my go to spot for any of the desserts that I don't want to make at home. It's always such a treat to pick up anything both aesthetically and tastefully pleasing. Mina and the staff is so efficient and helpful that helps keep me coming back to explore new flavors :)

First timer and I wanted to see the hype was. My first impression of walking in was wow look at all the colorful fruits on display with the yummy pastries. I had to get me a few. Plus I needed me some coffee. Ordering and standing in line went pretty quick. The menu was on displayed and the lady was nice enough to recommend some good drinks. I got a white mocha iced. That was delicious. A little milky but with an extra shot I think it would've been perfect for my taste preference. I would definitely order that again. The pastry I got was a fruity one with the cream and berries. Oh my gosh that was delicious! It was soft and crispy all at the same time. The berries were sweet and didn't leave a bad taste at all. In all, I would definitely come here again!

I've never tried any of the drinks or pastries from Paris Baguette, but their cake was delicious and the perfect dessert to bring to a party! I preordered through their app, which made picking up the cake a breeze. The cake came neatly packaged in a box and came with decorations, a cake cutter, and matches. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely get their Strawberry Soft Cream Cake again, as it was very light, not too sweet, fresh, and affordable.

Such good desert! Their pretzel line up was a shocking twist, but ultimately tasty! Wish I had a better photo. My favorite out of the line was the salted caramel pretzel tart and the coffee croissant donut

Paris Baguette opened in the former Starbucks location in downtown Honolulu on 2/22/24. Founded and owned by the SPC Group of South Korea in 1986, the Honolulu location is one of 4,000+ locations worldwide. The chain offers pastries, cakes, and breads baked fresh daily, and sandwiches and salads prepared daily as well. The Honolulu location is intended to be a grab-n-go operation for office workers working in downtown with future expansions in the Ala Moana area and Pearl City. The So. Korean pastries are lighter and not as sweet as American pastries. Pastry fillings are often whipped cream that tend to be airy instead of being rich and dense. Breads are softer and less chewy. Lavazza coffee beans are used in making their coffee. Paris Baguette's goal is to do two things better than any other bakery/café franchise, i.e., to provide a comfortable, inviting guest experience and having the highest quality of baked goods and coffees. Its target audience is the upper-class consumers across Asia and the US. With 200+ menu items on rotation, there are display cases filled with pastries, and refrigerated sections with decorated cakes, sandwiches, and salads. With the exception of cakes, all items are self-serve. You get your tray, then a paper liner for your tray, and a plastic glove to grab your pastries (no tongs used here). When you are ready to pay, there is a container near the cash register to dispose your gloves. With so many choices, it's hard to decide what to choose! For the few times being there, I've tried the following: * Mochi donuts. The 3 mochi donuts that I've tried - red strawberry, coconut flake topping over a glaze, and fine sugar topping, are delicious! They're the perfect texture and the right chewiness for mochi donuts. * Sliced ganache cream cake. For chocolate lovers, the creamy chocolate ganache has a rich flavor that just melts in your mouth and is so delicious! * Sliced rainbow cake. While it's pretty to look at with all the different colored layers, the cake has a mild flavor and melts in your mouth. * Jumbo twisted donut. Made with sweet rice flour and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, it was chewy and tasted like a very tasty churro! It was so large that it had to be bent to fit in the box! * Fruit pastry. The fresh Kiwi, raspberry, strawberry, and mandarin orange complemented the flaky crust. It was very refreshing! Staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. There is always someone restocking the inventory of pastries, so it's easy to have your questions answered by that person. When you're ready to pay, additional staff is available to box your goods and ensure that your payment has been applied to their rewards program. The interior is bright and clean. As the area is small, sometimes there is a line of people ready to pay who are blocking part of the display case. And because there are a lot of customers going in and out, be mindful that a few flies might wander in. Hours of operation are daily from 6a to 6p. As the bakery is geared to office workers, there may be less inventory on the weekends. If you do not work in downtown, parking may be a problem. There is hard-to-find metered street parking or nearby private parking lots that do not validate parking. It's best to have two people in the car, with one driving and waiting nearby, and the other getting the pastries. Don't forget to sign up for the rewards program of earning 1 point for every $1 spent for future discounts. You also get a free cake slice during the week of your birthday. So glad that Paris Baguette is in HI with plans for expansion elsewhere in HI! Nice to have a choice of pastries, and Korean too!

    Come here my precious

I have been a customer since the opening of this first location in Hawaii. Have to admit, wasn't the biggest fan of it in Korea (they have stiff competition in bakeries and cafes) yet have come to know and love PB for their variety of both sweet AND savory treats. And I have come to love the excellent service of the counter personnel and generous heart of the owner here. Will miss my favorite counter person and her phenomenal service, yet wish Oiwell all the best. ALL the staff I have interacted with here are super helpful! ...Exceptionally service oriented. They have helped me with loading up my car with meeting treats every Saturday. Thank you all! And what do I get? For the group I try to spread my purchase as much as I can and that means lots of "mini" pasteries, mini croissants, mini cream cheese garlic bites (one of my favorites). For me, my favorites are anything with their yummie sourdough bread, the memorable egg salad sandwich stuffed with cucumber slices and basil (could use a pinch of salt but I love that its healthier without), my all time favorite pastry... the pecan tart (too bad that's just seasonal). Parking is non-existent. Have found a host of "regular" cars pulled curbside with hazard lights on to run in and quickly pickup (perhaps I shouldn't encourage that)... if staying to linger, your best bet is street metered parking or one of the many municipal parking close by. Or, if you work in the area then ...just walk. They do have a lovely outdoor seating area! Located just across the street from Tamarind Park on Bishop, just before King Street. Will I be back? Definitely on Saturday tho... thinking of coming this Monday now too..!

Updated review (August 2025): Aside from the parking situation, Paris Baguette continues to keep me happy! Shoutout to Abby who went above and beyond to make my day! Everyone works super hard, and the pastries are well made, beautiful and delicious!

-- Ambiance, loved it, pasty galore, so many options but little space to move around and a lot of people. -- Parking, street parking (seen someone's window shattered, probably happened over night ) & need to pay the meter. Free parking on the weekend. OR there is a parking structure next to it, Executive center: $4/hr but seen negative reviews, or Alakea Garage. -- a little cheaper than Okayama Kobo but quality definitely isn't the same. Their (Paris baguette) salted butter roll and butter cream bread isn't as good. * will be back to try more pasties tho * 。^‿^。 -- Dubai chocolate matcha : loved how there was Kataifi inside, definitely tasted pistachio syrup (Torani?), a lot of chocolate cold foam, didn't taste the matcha at all because it was mostly ice. * maybe if they offered a bigger cup I could taste everything and mix it well.. & this was $9

The prices are too high and the pastries don't taste that good, except for the almond croissant and the baguette.

When you get the last one, it's like the feeling that you won!" SERVICE: fully staffed INTERIOR: when you enter the line forms to the left n' moves across to the right, narrow space, no dine-in just pick up n' go, canned soft drinks n' bottled water are available for purchase that are located in the fridges to the far left. EXTERIOR: next door to Ubae in Kalihi WAIT TIME: right under 10 mins from entering to leaving PARKING: free lot OVERALL COMMENTS: it's been years since my last visit n' I usually come for the poi malasadas so when I saw that they had one banana fritter, I had to have it! I've only had a banana fritter in Cali so this was a nice surprise. Bc it was banana mixed with apple, it had a hint of banana flavor. Crunchy n' glazed exterior with a very soft n' cinnamon interior. The malasadas are always tasty. Out of the poi, strawberry, n' orange, the orange has the most flavor come through. Ofc my kids highly enjoyed their donuts. Prices are really good on all the items we got ranging between $1.55 - $2.12; we spent right under $12 for everything. Will be back again!

The line moved relatively quickly even on weekend though, so don't let it hinder you from trying. We got their iconic Black Sesame Kouign Amann and loved it too much. Impeccably flaky and buttery pastry base with flawless caramelized bottom. The black sesame paste also came in just right dose and sweetness. I wasn't a fan of black sesame but I would rave over this pastry!! We did have their Pineapple Almond Croissant, which was decent but if you had to prioritize, doubtlessly go for kouign amann. The Chocolate Chip cookie was okay to skip IMHO. We came back again another day for their pistachio and chocolate ones and they were just as mindblowing! If you loved milk coffee, I would recommend their latte as the cold brew could be tad acidic even with added milk. I got their Cold Brew with soy milk first time then Vanilla Latte the second time, and certainly loved the latter better. They did have some indoor and outdoor sit-down spaces but they're constantly occupied so you might need to wait awhile to get one.

Known for its smooth, light, and mildly acidic flavor profile with notes of chocolate and nuts, it is highly prized and regulated by the state to combat food fraud. True Kona coffee is only grown on the slopes of Hualālai and Mauna Loa volcanoes. We had been told to check out Kona Coffee Purveyors at International Marketplace by a good handful of Honolulu friends and I'm glad I heeded their advice. The best coffee on our trip was had here and I wish I had more time to grab another cuppa! I ordered a black sesame latte for myself, shared an affogato, and tried a Konawaena pour over (Kiwae honey, roasted macadamia, and milk chocolate) pourover. The latte was sip after sip of balanced coffee with a hint of black sesame. The pour over is where you truly get the caffeine. As for the affogato, easily the best affogato had on the trip (and I had plenty~). I highly recommend Kona Coffee Purveyors if you're in the Waikiki area. The ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly!

It's a cute little shop with benches facing the windows to people watch. It was hard to pick one item, but I ended up trying the Char Siu Croissant. Every butcher I've interacted with has been patient and genuinely helpful, especially when explaining different cuts of beef. I'm not a fan of cleaning chicken myself, so I really appreciate that they'll remove skin and bones in-house (you still pay for it, and they'll ask if you want to keep the scraps). Another big plus is that the meat is fresh, unlike a few other places I've visited that only carry frozen options. Bakery: I can't come here without grabbing a sweet treat. They offer a mix of sweet and savory pastries, and honestly, I haven't had a bad one yet. I don't have a single favorite because they've all been consistently good. In my opinion, they're best enjoyed the same day. They also offer seasonal and holiday pre-orders. Sandwich of the Day: The premade sandwiches start at 11am and are made with about 90% house-made ingredients, served on their focaccia. As someone who loves a good sandwich, this did not disappoint. There are a few seats inside but I usually take everything to go so I can get my meat into the fridge.

However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas.
