Such a cute little café tucked away in Liliha! I love the unique bottle concept and the thoughtful touch of providing ice and a cup so you can enjoy half now and save the rest for later. I stopped by on a weekday for a matcha pick-me-up before heading to work in town. I bought 3 bottles of the matcha and 1 cold brew matcha. As a matcha fanatic, the drinks weren't quite what I was hoping for. The regular matcha was a little sweeter and more watered down than my personal preference. The cold brew matcha had a strong coffee aroma and leaned more toward a vanilla coffee flavor rather than a matcha-forward taste. Between the two, I preferred the cold brew matcha. Even though the matcha wasn't my favorite, I love the concept and the cozy vibe of this café. I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks and food options, especially since it's conveniently within walking distance of the med spa I visit!
Worth a visit! We stopped by due to all the positive reviews. The cafe is super small with limited seating. The line takes a bit to work through but worth the wait - drinks are created fresh. Don't skip on the bottled drinks - the iced hojicha latte was delicious with a cup of ice. Staff is pleasant as well and clearly a love for cats in the cafe!
Losing your cherry in front of your colleagues who you see 5x a week. Scandalous? That's exactly what happened. I've been wanting to try Neko Koneko (NK) for YEARS. It's not too far from my home and drive past here almost daily. Previous attempts failed as I was unable to secure parking. My day finally came earlier this week when a colleague sent a message in our office chat asking if anyone wanted anything from NK. Originally started in October 2021 in Mililani, NK relocated to Liliha, across of longtime Yagura Restaurant in September 2023. NK, which literally means "cat kitten", is known for their signature bottled drinks of lattes and cold brews, offers baked goods and limited food options. They also sell merch and offer online ordering. Prior to arriving, I asked my colleagues on their recommendation where their cold brews and lattes are notable. I had placed my order with the staff where she offered me samples. There was a line of about 4 people behind me in this cozy shop and felt bad for holding up the line but the staff once again offered me samples which I eventually accepted. Thank goodness I sampled my initial selection as I found the Hojicha latte cold brew muddled and lacked the roasted tea flavor I was hoping for. I ended up getting the matcha latte cold brew, ube latte cold brew and the strawberry milk, a personal favorite drink of mine when I lived in Japan many blue moons ago. While the staff was gathering my bottles, I noticed their baked goodies and couldn't pass on the marbled matcha loaf. My family really enjoyed the drinks and I devoured the sliced loaf. So moist with a distinct matcha favor that I enjoy. I really loved the ambiance here as it had cute decor with small plants and several tables for indoor dining. Had a handful of patrons sitting down while eating and sipping on their drinks. The customer service on my first visit was amazing. So attentive and customer service oriented. However. parking had been an issue for me as Liliha St is a busy one with some metered parking. Overall, an excellent first experience and clearly a fan of NK. I've noted to try their toasted coconut lattes cold brew that many of my colleagues rave over, as well as try other offerings, including baked goods, affogato, and kimchi fried rice.
Absolutely love this shop! The atmosphere is very nice, just limited seating. The only con is that parking is limited (street parking). I always go for the blueberry matcha. It's tart but very well balanced. They let you sample the drinks, which is very helpful for indecisive people like myself lol.
Neko Koneko offers chill, cozy cafe vibes with AMAZING drinks and super friendly service! We got the Blueberry Matcha and it was one of the most unique matcha drinks I've ever had! There was a perfect balance of blueberry flavor and tang that went well with the rich matcha. I would definitely come back to try their other aesthetic bottled drinks. Vibe: The inside of the cafe is quite small, but they have a cool outdoor seating area on the side on the store. I loved the decor on the inside and outside seating areas. Parking: There's free street parking in front of and around the store.
Updating my review to add a few pictures! Neko Koneko continues to be one of my go-to spots whenever I want a drink to go. The location is super convenient, the staff is always friendly, and the service is consistently great. It can get busy at times, but their online ordering system makes the process quick and seamless. I've tried several of their drinks, and honestly, everything has been delicious. If you're looking for a reliable spot for a tasty drink, I highly recommend giving them a try. 10/10!
Came in on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. The cafe feels like you're stepping into someone's home. It was my first time and the worker was so helpful in helping me choose a drink. I tried the shiro and caramel mac nut cold brew. Both were great and had just the right amount of sweetness. Cold brew wasn't too acidic. We also got the bottled drinks and they were too sweet for my liking, but liked how they had many flavors.
This place is soooo cute!! This is little seating inside so it more of a grab and go but i enjoyed the drinks they had. I got a lychee coffee and a matcha. I tend to like less sweet drinks so personally the matcha was a bit sweet for me but otherwise super yummy!
My favorite vibe! First of all, please be warned, parking and seating is extremely limited and yet, I've made countless illegal turns on Liliha, trying to snag a parking spot. May not be worth the ticket but worth the wait for a stall. If you'd rather not have to worry about all that, you can also find them on Farmlinkhawaii.com You can support local farmers AND have their coffee delivered to your home. Sometimes I stock up for the week with their convenient on-the-go bottles. But when I came able to get a seat, I'll enjoy one of their beautifully crafted flavor bombs. Take your pick. You can't go wrong. They also have non-caffeinated drinks for the kiddos.
So bomb! This was definitely my favorite coffee of the trip. Got the toasted coconut and the flavors were soooo good, and the coffee quality was amazing. Shop is super cute, and the barista even let us try a few before we bought our bottles to make sure we liked them. Will be back every trip.
Honestly so good! Got the cold brew versions but they were so good. Definitely more than one serving so you get your money's worth. They give you an ice cup too! Definitely will be back (:
Glad i got to try neko koneko out! Its a really nice but tiny cafe. the decor is spot on and feels really nice to just sit there and relax. The drink that i got was the blueberry coldbrew. It hd a nice strong coffee flavor despite also getting the fruit flavor out really well. Looking forward to trying more drinks here!
I was looking for coffee or tea after running an errand in town. Neko Koneko came up on Yelp with great reviews and was close to where I was in the Liliha area so I decided to head over. But uh-oh!! Just a heads up because this cute little cafe is street parking only. I got super lucky and scored the stall right in front of the shop (there's 3 stalls) but not sure what I'd do next time if there was no street parking close by? Anyway, once I got in there were menus right by the door which was convenient & they were quite extensive with a in-store & bottled menu! I spent a few minutes looking at it because everything sounded SO delicious. After about 5-7 mins of deliberation I decided on 3 drinks -- 2 of which I'd take home & drink in the coming days.... I literally wanted everything on that menu though! I ordered the Yuzu Sparkling Matcha to drink, and the Hojicha Latte and Kinako to take home in bottles. Yuzu sparkling matcha was very refreshing over ice and hit the spot if you're a yuzu lover like me. I also loved the richness of the hojicha latte too. I'd definitely order that one again because I also love hojicha. One more thing is...The bottled menu seems expensive, but for $9-11 per bottle you can actually get 2 normal sized drinks poured over ice at home which isn't so bad when you think of it that way? If I can score parking next time I'll try the Denki Kuro and Strawberry Matcha Latte! If I cannot find parking on Liliha, then unfortunately I'll have to pass (which is my primary reason for only 4 stars). But perhaps my tip would be to get there earlier on a Sunday because that's when I went & didn't experience any problems with parking or a long line!

One of my favorite cafes! It is so cute inside, but there isn't a lot of space. It can get so busy to the point where the line is outside. I love the cat theme, especially the cat tarot cards used as their number system! I ordered the ichigo hojicha and i loved it! The hojicha had a perfect nutty taste and the strawberry complimented the hojicha without overpowering it. I also loved the wafers on top! read more

Tried this cafe for the first time recently. I heard about it awhile back but never got the chance to go. It is located on the same street as the L&L & not far from Liliha Bakery. I love the cozy Japan vibes of this cafe. It's small with limited seating so I recommend doing to-go but it would be nice to have a coffee date here. My bf & I got two drinks to-go -- the matcha latte & yuzu choco oat cold brew. We both really enjoyed our drinks. I also got two bottled drinks -- the ume iced tea & lilikoi lemonade which were also sooo yum. The worker let me sample these two which was nice. I enjoyed the bottled drinks a couple days later, it was a refreshing treat. The staff were friendly & it didn't take long for us to get our drinks. The only challenge may be finding parking as they have only a few stalls in front. We ended up parking a little up the street on the opposite side. It was a short walk to the cafe & well worth it! Will be stopping by again soon for my matcha & tea fix. read more
Parking: street parking in front of cafe, lot located near the back (park at your own risk) Service: counter service, quick service Ambiance: casual, with a couple tables inside to hang out Food: would recommend their blueberry matcha! cafe offers drinks made to order along with their pre-bottled drinks. Not all the flavors offered in the bottle form are made to order and vice versa. Make sure to check out their rotating specials ! read more

May 21,2026 -Thursday Only reason it's a 4/5 because of the following, -Parking (we did get lucky since we got a spot right out front) ; coin/card operated meter -Flavor I wanted was SOLD out ; although online referenced we could order Overall everything I did order was 10/10, creamy & just the right amount of sweetness. (I prefer my drinks sweet) The cashier was helpful which they allowed you to do samples before I decided which drinks to order. We live on Maui but was just visiting home for graduation season. Which is why we ordered to go bottles to last throughout our stay BUT it is labeled with expiration date which is about 1-week. It is a cute little place very limited space but they also have outdoor seating. For sure coming back whenever we're back on Oahu. We decided to stop here since it was recommended by one of our family members. read more
I've heard of Neko Koneko from their farmer's market days. I never visited them at the markets; but I have tried their Strawberry Ichigo Milk, Matcha Latte, Chairo Cold Brew, amongst others. Now that they have a brick-n-mortar...sorta, as I recall when their fairly new space was a barber shop - possibly repurposed home - run by an elderly Korean woman. I recall getting a haircut and getting a bit uncomfortable...i got a neck massage with an electric handheld metal massage, from the 1980's. I would have been fine with just a hot towel. Parking...street metered parking...so it is difficult. Closed on Fridays they are open on the other days from 830a till 600p. Liliha Street is replete with Asian churches/temples...if you are a worshipper...your parking prayers may yet be answered. I am an agnostic but lately...I have been praying at the matcha altar. On my initial visit, I requested a Yuzu Matcha Soda...as good as any that I've had on the Isle - and there are a few excellent establishments that serve quality matcha beverages. I tried to order a savory pastry but was told it was a separate purchase and had to be paid via cash/Venmo...guess I have to carry some greenbacks on my next visitation. Waited for my drink at their outdoor patio...employee kindly showed me where it was. There is a side service door where they bring out your order...and collect the playing card given, instead of a numbered placard. I had the Queen of Black Cats ( jk, not sure what kinda card but it had a cat on it ). Picked up two milks before leaving; Ube Latte Milk and Melon Milk. Both...great. I have two new favorite drinks. I'll give the slight edge to the Ube Latte...Neko CoKoneko. They use oatmilk. Not a huge fan as I prefer almond or pistachio milk, but it is fine. I get the matcha craze...I am Japanese and have long been a convert. A bit skeptical of the ube craze but I've gradually become converted...to an ubeliever. I will preach the goodness of ube. The employees provided excellent service. Interior is small but nicely air-conditioned. read more
I've spent a lot of money here lol. I even ordered a bunch of jugs for a party I threw. No regrets. It was a hit! No matter the person, anyone can find a drink they like from Neko Koneko. That's just the type of place it is. Less sweet drinks, very sweet drinks, caffeinated, non-caffeinated, teas, coffees..! You got it! And they have some food too--haven't tried it all but I've definitely liked what I've had. I need to try the pastry/sweet items though. If it's nice weather it's fun to sit on their little patio outdoor area, but the inside is such a vibe. I would totally do work here. Just a bummer that it's so popular, there's always someone sitting down! Shucks. One day. But happy to see them so busy. This is the exact type of cafe I love!! read more
This Japanese-style, cat themed café specializes in cold brew. We were drawn in by their excellent style. Its quite photogenic in there. We opted for some signature cold drinks and enjoyed then in the café. I loved my cold brew confection. They were busy even on a Monday afternoon. I got stickers and a hat for my pet-sitter, who loved them. So glad I stopped in during my visit to Honolulu. read more

Sugoi!!! Oishi des!! Arigato gozaimashte. Today was my first time coming to Neko Koneko. I'm very impressed by the pleasant service, dynamic offerings and great product. The atmosphere is very Kawai & simple Japan aesthetic of everything nice, clean and simple. The Salted Brown Sugar chocolate chip cookie - WOW. Hojicha Latte - AMAZING Ice Tea Ume - drink your skincare & Hibiscus is a natural anti-depressant. We will be back to dine in and savor the goodies - now off to meditate with Neko Koneko. Cute Japanese coffee and tea shop in Liliha! I pass this place often and always wanted to try it while heading to work. I finally got a chance to check it out. Note there is only street parking. It is a small quaint cafe that features matcha drinks, cold brews, lemonades, and light pasties. The decor is super cute it reminds me of being in Japan. There is a large screen that features a Japanese DJ and the music is eclectic and vibey! The staff are also super friendly and you can earn points for your purchases. They sell pre bottled teas and coffees or you can have a drink k made for you how you like it in-store. They also have an in-store special drink menu. I ordered 2 matcha lattes lightly sweetened and a matcha loaf. The matcha was delicious! You can tell the matcha is of great quality! The matcha loaf was also delicious! It was quite large too. It had a nice matcha flavor. Can't wait to come back and try other drinks! read more

The cutest cafe with some of the best drinks! The vibes inside are so cute, though a little small, but there's a cute seating area outside too. They also give you a little tarot card as your order card which I find adorable. The menu is pretty big, and they do both cup and bottle options which is pretty cool too. My favorites are the matches and hojicha, but all their drinks have been absolute bangers personally, read more
My wife came across this place online when we were searching for coffee. We figured it was just your regular coffee shop. Little did we know we stumbled on our favorite placed to get coffee in Oahu. Parking is metered street parking. It can be tough depending the time of day but in my opinion, it's worth being patient. Shop is fairly small, I believe it seats around 15? Staff is always super nice here and can give some recommendations if things are sold out. Their merch is also really good, I wear one of their hats all the time but it's usually sold out (comes from Japan?). Their cold brew drinks come in bottles that are about 2 cups worth of coffee so fair deal in my opinion. All their flavored coffee is amazing. Tried the Hojicha Latte CB, Ube Latte CB, Matcha Latte CB, and the Black Sesame CB. Every since was we downed within 5 minutes. So delicious, right amount of flavor to milk ratio every time. They nailed the consistency. I now make sure that I go here whenever I'm in the area. Very necessary. Can't wait to go back. 7/5 stars. read more
I think this is one of my favorite coffee places on island. I've been about 4 or 5 times and have liked every item I've tried. This review is for the items I got today which are October/fall specials. First is the salted maple hojicha. I have gotten hojicha at two other places and was about to decide that hojicha was not my thing but I now I realize I do like it if prepared a certain way. This drink was layered and topped with a salted cold foam, the sweetness of the maple syrup and nuttiness of the hojicha worked together so nicely. It really was perfect and I'm sad to think it's only seasonal because I might be obsessed. My sister got the pumpkin spice matcha and it was equally delicious. The pumpkin flavor was subtle and balanced the matcha nicely. Both drinks were sweet so a traditional matcha/hojicha lover may not be thrilled but for me and others that like a little bit of sweetness it was perfect. As someone who is frequently victim of ordering the wrong thing, I really appreciate that they let you sample. The barista at the register has always sweet and helpful every time I've been. The only downside here is that parking can be a challenge. There's 2 or 3 metered spots in front of the store but if coming from H1 you'll have to turn around or make a left turn onto the spot which can be challenging. That struggle is worth it though for their delicious coffee and matcha. read more

Top 5 favorite matcha/ coffee spots on the island. So addicting. If the parking situation was better, I'd be here every week! Toasted coconut, Hojicha latte & their matcha- omg so good! It's a cute & small shop with a bright & welcoming vibe. Come here! Totally RECOMMEND! . read more
Haven't been here in a few years, but it was just as good as I remember it! Super cute cafe and super friendly service. Drinks are also all nondairy which is such a relief for those who can't handle the lactose... they let you sample things if you like but everything I've tried is good! Only difficult thing is finding parking which is sparse and only metered on the street. read more

So recently, Hōʻiliʻili Market & Deli on South Beretania St (next to Mini Garden) also sells a good selection of Neko Koneko drinks. I was pleasantly surprised as Neko Koneko is farther to get to for me. Sadness, they no longer sell my favorite black sesame (kurogoma) drink.... they still have a lot of good drinks, but my fave is long gone. read more
If you like oat milk with your drinks, this place is for you. I believe all of their drink is oat milk based, but very subtle. Staff were friendly and let me try a bunch of their coffee. Their ube coffee was very good, and the strawberry milk was like pocky in a drink. I ended up with strawberry matcha but theirs are more like strawberry milk matcha. The inside is cozy and very cute. read more
This was the cutest little coffee shop! I loved the idea of grab and go cold brews and more!!! Especially with the medical centers near by great for the medical staff to get and save for later in their shift! It would've been five stars for me, however, due to not being able to have oat milk or nut, milks my ability to try their drinks was very limited. However, my friend who cannot have dairy loved it. The shop was clean and decorated so cute loved the merch! I did get to have the coffee jelly which was a first for me. I enjoyed it after getting used to the jelly. read more
5/5 Neko Koneko - A Hidden Coffee Gem in Hawaii! Anything on the menu? To die for. Seriously. This place has the best coffee I've ever had in my life. I'm not exaggerating when I say all of them are my favorite -- I mean my favorite coffee in the world. Even people who don't usually drink coffee fall in love with it here. The café itself is super tiny, but that just adds to its charm. The whole place is decked out in an adorable cat theme with playful anime touches that make you feel like you've stepped into a cozy corner. Heads up: parking isn't the best, so be prepared to circle around or walk a bit--but trust me, it's absolutely worth it. Whether you're a local or just visiting Hawaii, Neko Koneko is an absolute must-stop. You won't regret it! read more
