Such a cute little café tucked away in Liliha! I love the unique bottle concept and the thoughtful touch of providing ice and a cup so you can enjoy half now and save the rest for later. I stopped by on a weekday for a matcha pick-me-up before heading to work in town. I bought 3 bottles of the matcha and 1 cold brew matcha. As a matcha fanatic, the drinks weren't quite what I was hoping for. The regular matcha was a little sweeter and more watered down than my personal preference. The cold brew matcha had a strong coffee aroma and leaned more toward a vanilla coffee flavor rather than a matcha-forward taste. Between the two, I preferred the cold brew matcha. Even though the matcha wasn't my favorite, I love the concept and the cozy vibe of this café. I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks and food options, especially since it's conveniently within walking distance of the med spa I visit!
Worth a visit! We stopped by due to all the positive reviews. The cafe is super small with limited seating. The line takes a bit to work through but worth the wait - drinks are created fresh. Don't skip on the bottled drinks - the iced hojicha latte was delicious with a cup of ice. Staff is pleasant as well and clearly a love for cats in the cafe!
Losing your cherry in front of your colleagues who you see 5x a week. Scandalous? That's exactly what happened. I've been wanting to try Neko Koneko (NK) for YEARS. It's not too far from my home and drive past here almost daily. Previous attempts failed as I was unable to secure parking. My day finally came earlier this week when a colleague sent a message in our office chat asking if anyone wanted anything from NK. Originally started in October 2021 in Mililani, NK relocated to Liliha, across of longtime Yagura Restaurant in September 2023. NK, which literally means "cat kitten", is known for their signature bottled drinks of lattes and cold brews, offers baked goods and limited food options. They also sell merch and offer online ordering. Prior to arriving, I asked my colleagues on their recommendation where their cold brews and lattes are notable. I had placed my order with the staff where she offered me samples. There was a line of about 4 people behind me in this cozy shop and felt bad for holding up the line but the staff once again offered me samples which I eventually accepted. Thank goodness I sampled my initial selection as I found the Hojicha latte cold brew muddled and lacked the roasted tea flavor I was hoping for. I ended up getting the matcha latte cold brew, ube latte cold brew and the strawberry milk, a personal favorite drink of mine when I lived in Japan many blue moons ago. While the staff was gathering my bottles, I noticed their baked goodies and couldn't pass on the marbled matcha loaf. My family really enjoyed the drinks and I devoured the sliced loaf. So moist with a distinct matcha favor that I enjoy. I really loved the ambiance here as it had cute decor with small plants and several tables for indoor dining. Had a handful of patrons sitting down while eating and sipping on their drinks. The customer service on my first visit was amazing. So attentive and customer service oriented. However. parking had been an issue for me as Liliha St is a busy one with some metered parking. Overall, an excellent first experience and clearly a fan of NK. I've noted to try their toasted coconut lattes cold brew that many of my colleagues rave over, as well as try other offerings, including baked goods, affogato, and kimchi fried rice.
Absolutely love this shop! The atmosphere is very nice, just limited seating. The only con is that parking is limited (street parking). I always go for the blueberry matcha. It's tart but very well balanced. They let you sample the drinks, which is very helpful for indecisive people like myself lol.
Neko Koneko offers chill, cozy cafe vibes with AMAZING drinks and super friendly service! We got the Blueberry Matcha and it was one of the most unique matcha drinks I've ever had! There was a perfect balance of blueberry flavor and tang that went well with the rich matcha. I would definitely come back to try their other aesthetic bottled drinks. Vibe: The inside of the cafe is quite small, but they have a cool outdoor seating area on the side on the store. I loved the decor on the inside and outside seating areas. Parking: There's free street parking in front of and around the store.
i love that all the drinks are in bottles and you can pour it into the ice cup to your liking. i got the lychee rose and oh my god. it was sooo delightful. it was the right coffee bean flavor, you can taste the lychee and the rose and it just worked so well. parking is a bit difficult since it is on the street. the coffee shop is a bit small but it's decorated sooo nice. the bathroom is also so cute, it's like an art gallery. i would come back the minute i come back to hawaii.
Updating my review to add a few pictures! Neko Koneko continues to be one of my go-to spots whenever I want a drink to go. The location is super convenient, the staff is always friendly, and the service is consistently great. It can get busy at times, but their online ordering system makes the process quick and seamless. I've tried several of their drinks, and honestly, everything has been delicious. If you're looking for a reliable spot for a tasty drink, I highly recommend giving them a try. 10/10!
Came in on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. The cafe feels like you're stepping into someone's home. It was my first time and the worker was so helpful in helping me choose a drink. I tried the shiro and caramel mac nut cold brew. Both were great and had just the right amount of sweetness. Cold brew wasn't too acidic. We also got the bottled drinks and they were too sweet for my liking, but liked how they had many flavors.
My favorite vibe! First of all, please be warned, parking and seating is extremely limited and yet, I've made countless illegal turns on Liliha, trying to snag a parking spot. May not be worth the ticket but worth the wait for a stall. If you'd rather not have to worry about all that, you can also find them on Farmlinkhawaii.com You can support local farmers AND have their coffee delivered to your home. Sometimes I stock up for the week with their convenient on-the-go bottles. But when I came able to get a seat, I'll enjoy one of their beautifully crafted flavor bombs. Take your pick. You can't go wrong. They also have non-caffeinated drinks for the kiddos.
This place is soooo cute!! This is little seating inside so it more of a grab and go but i enjoyed the drinks they had. I got a lychee coffee and a matcha. I tend to like less sweet drinks so personally the matcha was a bit sweet for me but otherwise super yummy!
So bomb! This was definitely my favorite coffee of the trip. Got the toasted coconut and the flavors were soooo good, and the coffee quality was amazing. Shop is super cute, and the barista even let us try a few before we bought our bottles to make sure we liked them. Will be back every trip.
Honestly so good! Got the cold brew versions but they were so good. Definitely more than one serving so you get your money's worth. They give you an ice cup too! Definitely will be back (:
Glad i got to try neko koneko out! Its a really nice but tiny cafe. the decor is spot on and feels really nice to just sit there and relax. The drink that i got was the blueberry coldbrew. It hd a nice strong coffee flavor despite also getting the fruit flavor out really well. Looking forward to trying more drinks here!

This little coffee shop is bursting with charm. The art and decor are very thoughtfully put together to create a cohesive theme yet every piece feels unique and curated. The menu includes a variety of ready to be made coffee & tea and a big selection of bottled drinks as well. We got the Raspberry Caramel Latte which we thought was delicious and caffeine strong. The coffee shop is small with limited seating but it's so worth it to stop by, support a local business, and witness how much heart and creativity went into it. read more
We have been meaning to go to Neko Koneko for a while and finally had the chance! We were a bit deterred by the parking, as there is only street parking and not an abundance of it. There is a video on their Instagram with parking directions, which was helpful! We followed the road and the video and ended up finding a spot. The spots directly in front of Neko were taken but going a bit down, there was an opening on the street. Walking into the cafe, the space is quaint with very cozy decor. It is a bit boho with plants and green and brown tones all around the space. There are a few tables to sit at but not a ton of space. The counter is toward the back, with menus around the counter. They have coffees, teas, milks, and more. Some drinks come in the signature bottles and others come in plastic cups. We decided to get the strawberry matcha latte (ceremonial) and mocha (in the bottle). The service was efficient and the girls working were patient and kind. However, we felt the drinks were expensive, as the matcha came to be about $11 with an upcharge for the ceremonial matcha. The mocha was also about $10. For the amounts, we felt the price was too high. However, the quality of the drinks was good. The mocha was rich and deep in flavor. The matcha was good as well, with a solid creaminess. The strawberry was not overwhelming and had a strawberry milk flavor with the matcha. It was definitely worth the try to head over. read more

My gf said this had to be the best drinks she had on the island. Small shop but plenty of flavor. The one drink that specifically stood out to her was the blueberry latte - she said that was the BEST blueberry latte she's ever had before. I had the matcha and it was a hit! Will definitely come back to try more drinks!! read more

Beautiful storefront, amazing cold brew! Highly recommend this spot for all things coffee and hojicha. Each drink is crafted with thought and flavored so well. Definitely want to come back and try everything! Little cute space to sip and enjoy, but better to go Street parking is paid. read more

This is such a cute little cafe, makes me really miss being in Japan. While it is a bit on the smaller side, the vibes are so cozy and warm, and there's a bunch of little knick knacks on the counter and throughout the store that gives it a personalized touch. The staff is so friendly and explained the menu very thoroughly to me since it was my first time there. You're able to have samples of the different cold brews before you commit to a specific flavor which I really appreciate since it's such an extensive unique menu. I opted for the caramel macnut which has caramel, macadamia milk, Ghirardelli chocolate, and macnut. This was the perfect combination and wasn't overly sweet. And dang was the cold brew strong - I finished it off in an hour and was fueled for the rest of the day. read more

We loved this cafe so much we came twice in one day and stopped by one more time before flying home. Such a cute place with such lovely workers! The menu has something for everyone and the cute bottles are a plus! We especially loved the ube cold brew and mango matcha! I've heard good things about Neko Koneko. After coming back from Japan, I've been on a matcha/hojicha kick. I happen to be in the area so I thought it would be a perfect time to try Neko Koneko. The store is located on Liliha st and it's only street parking. Lucky me I was able to find one as soon as I got there. The store is small, cozy and cute. They had a pop up going on when I was there, serving some kind of sandwich. Neko Koneko has only a few food items I believe. I loved the ambiance and felt like it would be a chill spot to bring my laptop one day and get some work done. I was in a hojicha mood but couldn't decide between the hojicha latte or hojicha cold brew. The girl let me sample the 2 which was nice. I opted for the hojicha cold brew since it was less sweet plus I wanted some extra caffeine! They give it you in their bottle but I like my drinks iced so she gave me a to-go cup with ice. You get about 2 drinks in the bottle which was $9.50, so not bad. The drink had a strong hojicha taste and the right amount of sweetness. Really yummy. I'll definitely be back! read more

Yessssssssss. Soooo smooth and soooo good! They use oatmilk instead of cows milk for most of their menu which I love. Flavors are perfectly paired together such as Lychee Rose and Ube coffee. They have the coffees pre-made but also sell in store only items. I ordered a salted maple hojicha and it was perfection. Ordered the ube cold brew, lychee rose cold brew, ichigo milk, and chairo as well! I will be back! read more

3.5 Since we were in the area I wanted to try this spot out. Pros: Matcha was creamy! For some reason I thought they made it upon order but it was in an already made bottle. Still it was good & creamy however it was a bit too sweet for me. Red velvet scone was good, my hubby ate most of it. We shared the cookie- it was big and very tasty!! Super yummy!! Hubby didn't like the salt on top but I didn't mind it :) Staff were super nice! Cons: No parking Small space Since my papa's house is up the road I would come back if I'm in the area, however I wouldn't go out of my way. Still good & a very cute shop! read more
The shop's interior is really cute! Just going inside is really cute with all the cat decorations. They even have a digital camera where you can take pictures. We were deciding on what kind of coffee to have and we were able to sample the different types of coffee to help make a decision. All of them were really delicious and it was hard to decide. I would definitely come again if I ever get the chance. The ube latte has a really strong earthy ube taste. If you like black sesame, I would suggest the kuro goma! The nuttiness of the black sesame is nice. The kinako one has a nice nutty flavor also due to the roasted soybeans. It's not that sweet despite having both cane sugar and honey in it. read more
This is the cutest little cafe! When I say it's tiny though, you must believe I mean TINY! There were people studying there and taking up both tables so it was quite crowded waiting for our drinks. They did take a while, around 20 minutes, but at least they were tasty! They have bottled versions as well if you plan on saving for later but ours were from the specialty menu side and came in a regular cup. It was so difficult to choose because they all sounded so delicious, and to make it even harder they also had a fall menu! I ended up picking the blueberry matcha off of the regular menu, which comes with a blueberry lemon cream top that ultimately made me choose it. It was a solid choice and I enjoyed the entire cup! It was light and refreshing, not too strong in any of the blueberry, lemon, or matcha flavors. If we had time I would've definitely come back to try more! read more
Their drinks are so delicious! Out of the 5 bottles, I really liked the Kinako cold brew. Matcha is ok. The strawberry reminds me of nesquick and the hojicha tasted more like chocolate milk. Drinks are on the sweeter side, but overall great. Highly recommended place to try and I can't want to come back read more

I heard really good things about Neko Koneko and since I had time to go I had to stop by. I wasn't feeling coffee so the teas were very enticing to get. The nice thing about Neko Koneko is that you can taste everything before you try it! ***What we ordered ~ **Matcha Latte (6/10) ~ Very creamy and you can taste the Matcha, but I personally thought it was a little TOO sweet. I thought I was drinking a matcha milk tea rather than a Matcha Latte. **Hojicha Latte (7/10) ~ This wasn't as sweet compared to the matcha latte. I loved that you can taste the Hojicha and it would make you feel warm. Since it kind of has a toasty/spiced flavor to it. Although, it's not a 10 because it was a little too creamy for me... Overall, I feel like if you like Milk Tea versions of Matcha and Hojicha lattes then this place is for you! Everything almost tasted like an ice cream. Anyways, super cute place and good service. Not sure if I would come back. It is a little pricey. read more

Cute little shop located across from the original L&L Drive Inn and around the corner of Liliha Bakery. They have a website that makes it easy for pick up. I ended up getting the bottled matcha latte and honey cinnamon latte. Per their website, one bottled drink has 2 servings so the 2 I bought (pictured) lasted me throughout the week. Pick up was smooth and they even asked if I needed cups of ice for no extra charge. Planning to come here again to stock up on weekly matcha!! read more

Such yummy coffee. And I love that we can get them in bottles. That way I can put the rest in the refrigerator for the next day. They have hojicha flavored coffee, macnut, and plenty of other choices. Highly recommend. I had an appointment nearby so I walked over, otherwise I think it's just street parking. read more

The customer service there was fantastic, everything was so meticulously taken care of. The treats were delicious, we had the banana bread and brown butter cookie. For the drinks, I had the ube cold brew and my hubby had the ume iced tea - both were amazing! I highly recommend this place!! read more

This place is sooooo good, especially the Kuro Goma. The black sesame flavor was perfect and the coffee itself wasn't too sweet either. They also gave us cups with ice so we can pour and enjoy our drinks immediately. One bottle is about 2 cups w ice. Originally we weren't sure about our choices, and we were about to order 3 bottles since we wanted to try a lot. However, right before we make the payment, the cashier asked us if we wanted to try the samples before we finalize the order. They didn't have all the options available but they did have most of them! They missed out on additional money for this order but they won our love. We'll definitely come back!! HIGHLY recommend this for everyone looking for caffeine options. read more
Visited this place for the first time today and there was a line Saturday afternoon around 2pm! This place has been opened for about 2 years! They have a cute unique menu and even offer samples when you ask! I tried their Kuro goma cold brew and hojicha cold brew and loved the Kuro goma one! It is a tad on the sweeter side but they can give you a cup of ice to dilute it down :) I also ordered their denki Kuro which I really liked too. Well balance of coffee flavor. The two small ritz crackers are a great touch too :) though I wished the matcha was stronger. Per my friend the matcha tasted just like Starbuck's which...I am not sure it's a good thing There's also a small patio area in the back. read more
Cute cafe & very friendly staff but the pre-made bottled matcha latte is not good. Doesn't have a distinct matcha taste and is too sweet. Best thing about it is that it's creamy. Maybe stick to the coffee when coming here. read more
Total cute hidden gem for to go coffees! I've tried various flavors from them at a night market in Pearl Country Club, and since then, I've been wanting to try the store front. Street parking is tough as expected in the Liliha area. We circled numerous times only to park on Kuakini street. They announce deals every so often on their instagram. Sadly when we got there, previous orders were already fulfilled so the melon flavor was unavailable. My husband and I sampled some flavors and walked away with ube and maple oat latte. Both were delicious. We didn't stay inside as they were getting busy but I can see it being a cute place to sip some good drinks. read more

This is a cute little cafe that pre bottles your favorite kinds of drinks. You can sample as much as you would like which are all so tasty! Keep in mind is that they are meant to be poured over ice which they give you a separate cup of ice so you actually pay for the full 16oz instead of a cup filled with ice. I don't believe they are fully organic but some are made with organic products. Parking is street metered parking and there are a couple of spots right in front of the cafe. Staff is friendly, which is a good sign for a cafe. read more
Super cute cafe! This shop is located on Liliha street, and parking is available on the street (metered), so you might have to hunt for a little bit to find a space. The inside of the shop is small and super cute, decorated with plenty of modern art, plants, and string lights! It's a great spot to settle down to do some work or hang out with a friend. I loved how there was a wide range of options on the menu -- I ordered a variety of flavors (chairo, strawberry, shiro). I found that the drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, but loved the flavor for all of them. The coffee drinks were strong but sweet, and the strawberry milk was exactly how I wanted it to taste. The drinks were creamy and also came in cute reusable bottles! I also appreciated how they were all made with oat milk, as someone who's lactose intolerant! Overall would love to come back to try their drinks again! read more

This adorable new gem of a café in Liliha is the perfect eclectic touch to this bustling little neighborhood. Parking is street only but I was able to find a stall practically right in front of the door. There is only a few tables to sit on so this is definitely more of a grab and go type of place. But they have the perfect bottled beverages to take with you and enjoy. I loved the local cat themed art and was happy to see most of it with sold signs. I will definitely be back again. read more
