Such a cute little café tucked away in Liliha! I love the unique bottle concept and the thoughtful touch of providing ice and a cup so you can enjoy half now and save the rest for later. I stopped by on a weekday for a matcha pick-me-up before heading to work in town. I bought 3 bottles of the matcha and 1 cold brew matcha. As a matcha fanatic, the drinks weren't quite what I was hoping for. The regular matcha was a little sweeter and more watered down than my personal preference. The cold brew matcha had a strong coffee aroma and leaned more toward a vanilla coffee flavor rather than a matcha-forward taste. Between the two, I preferred the cold brew matcha. Even though the matcha wasn't my favorite, I love the concept and the cozy vibe of this café. I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks and food options, especially since it's conveniently within walking distance of the med spa I visit!
Worth a visit! We stopped by due to all the positive reviews. The cafe is super small with limited seating. The line takes a bit to work through but worth the wait - drinks are created fresh. Don't skip on the bottled drinks - the iced hojicha latte was delicious with a cup of ice. Staff is pleasant as well and clearly a love for cats in the cafe!
Losing your cherry in front of your colleagues who you see 5x a week. Scandalous? That's exactly what happened. I've been wanting to try Neko Koneko (NK) for YEARS. It's not too far from my home and drive past here almost daily. Previous attempts failed as I was unable to secure parking. My day finally came earlier this week when a colleague sent a message in our office chat asking if anyone wanted anything from NK. Originally started in October 2021 in Mililani, NK relocated to Liliha, across of longtime Yagura Restaurant in September 2023. NK, which literally means "cat kitten", is known for their signature bottled drinks of lattes and cold brews, offers baked goods and limited food options. They also sell merch and offer online ordering. Prior to arriving, I asked my colleagues on their recommendation where their cold brews and lattes are notable. I had placed my order with the staff where she offered me samples. There was a line of about 4 people behind me in this cozy shop and felt bad for holding up the line but the staff once again offered me samples which I eventually accepted. Thank goodness I sampled my initial selection as I found the Hojicha latte cold brew muddled and lacked the roasted tea flavor I was hoping for. I ended up getting the matcha latte cold brew, ube latte cold brew and the strawberry milk, a personal favorite drink of mine when I lived in Japan many blue moons ago. While the staff was gathering my bottles, I noticed their baked goodies and couldn't pass on the marbled matcha loaf. My family really enjoyed the drinks and I devoured the sliced loaf. So moist with a distinct matcha favor that I enjoy. I really loved the ambiance here as it had cute decor with small plants and several tables for indoor dining. Had a handful of patrons sitting down while eating and sipping on their drinks. The customer service on my first visit was amazing. So attentive and customer service oriented. However. parking had been an issue for me as Liliha St is a busy one with some metered parking. Overall, an excellent first experience and clearly a fan of NK. I've noted to try their toasted coconut lattes cold brew that many of my colleagues rave over, as well as try other offerings, including baked goods, affogato, and kimchi fried rice.
Absolutely love this shop! The atmosphere is very nice, just limited seating. The only con is that parking is limited (street parking). I always go for the blueberry matcha. It's tart but very well balanced. They let you sample the drinks, which is very helpful for indecisive people like myself lol.
Neko Koneko offers chill, cozy cafe vibes with AMAZING drinks and super friendly service! We got the Blueberry Matcha and it was one of the most unique matcha drinks I've ever had! There was a perfect balance of blueberry flavor and tang that went well with the rich matcha. I would definitely come back to try their other aesthetic bottled drinks. Vibe: The inside of the cafe is quite small, but they have a cool outdoor seating area on the side on the store. I loved the decor on the inside and outside seating areas. Parking: There's free street parking in front of and around the store.
i love that all the drinks are in bottles and you can pour it into the ice cup to your liking. i got the lychee rose and oh my god. it was sooo delightful. it was the right coffee bean flavor, you can taste the lychee and the rose and it just worked so well. parking is a bit difficult since it is on the street. the coffee shop is a bit small but it's decorated sooo nice. the bathroom is also so cute, it's like an art gallery. i would come back the minute i come back to hawaii.
Updating my review to add a few pictures! Neko Koneko continues to be one of my go-to spots whenever I want a drink to go. The location is super convenient, the staff is always friendly, and the service is consistently great. It can get busy at times, but their online ordering system makes the process quick and seamless. I've tried several of their drinks, and honestly, everything has been delicious. If you're looking for a reliable spot for a tasty drink, I highly recommend giving them a try. 10/10!
Came in on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. The cafe feels like you're stepping into someone's home. It was my first time and the worker was so helpful in helping me choose a drink. I tried the shiro and caramel mac nut cold brew. Both were great and had just the right amount of sweetness. Cold brew wasn't too acidic. We also got the bottled drinks and they were too sweet for my liking, but liked how they had many flavors.
My favorite vibe! First of all, please be warned, parking and seating is extremely limited and yet, I've made countless illegal turns on Liliha, trying to snag a parking spot. May not be worth the ticket but worth the wait for a stall. If you'd rather not have to worry about all that, you can also find them on Farmlinkhawaii.com You can support local farmers AND have their coffee delivered to your home. Sometimes I stock up for the week with their convenient on-the-go bottles. But when I came able to get a seat, I'll enjoy one of their beautifully crafted flavor bombs. Take your pick. You can't go wrong. They also have non-caffeinated drinks for the kiddos.
This place is soooo cute!! This is little seating inside so it more of a grab and go but i enjoyed the drinks they had. I got a lychee coffee and a matcha. I tend to like less sweet drinks so personally the matcha was a bit sweet for me but otherwise super yummy!
So bomb! This was definitely my favorite coffee of the trip. Got the toasted coconut and the flavors were soooo good, and the coffee quality was amazing. Shop is super cute, and the barista even let us try a few before we bought our bottles to make sure we liked them. Will be back every trip.
Honestly so good! Got the cold brew versions but they were so good. Definitely more than one serving so you get your money's worth. They give you an ice cup too! Definitely will be back (:
Glad i got to try neko koneko out! Its a really nice but tiny cafe. the decor is spot on and feels really nice to just sit there and relax. The drink that i got was the blueberry coldbrew. It hd a nice strong coffee flavor despite also getting the fruit flavor out really well. Looking forward to trying more drinks here!
Where are all my coffee loving lactose intolerant friends? Yay for using oat milk in most of their drinks so you don't have to worry about a tummyache. I like that they are more health conscious cafe, like using honey instead of sugar and organic coffee beans to make their drinks. In a world full of coffee shops, this place definitely stands out. Very charming and cozy shop that transports you to little cafes in Japan. Ambiance/Service: Lots of decorations, books, giving the impression of love for kitty cats. It was very packed when we first arrived with a line out the door. It would be wise to pre order online and pickup if you are in a hurry. Service was very friendly and polite. Only 2 tables to sit. Location: Location is a bit rough, parking is hard but there are paid street parking meters. We spent about 30 minutes total. Drinks: We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy ambiance as we sat and enjoyed our deliciously made Matcha ($9), Shiro" ($8.75), Toasted Coconut ($9) lattes. My favorite was the Matcha CB Latte & Toasted Coconut. The coconut reminded me of the Coconut Vietnamese coffee we know and love. The Shiro latte adds white chocolate making it quite sweet. I probably wouldn't order than again. I do like that they give you a cup with ice to enjoy your drinks. Value: 16 oz bottle is enough for 2 drinks and the quality is excellent, so I'd say the value is there especially if you save half for later. Will definitely be back again! read more
one of the coziest (and littlest!) coffee shops I've been to in a while! parking is super difficult but it's worth it. they have metered spots out front but free parking on the side streets is hard to find in the mornings. they offer both in-store drinks and a huge variety of bottled drinks to go! when you order a bottled drink they also offer a cup of ice too. the menus are hung on the wall right when you enter. inside, they have one small round table that seats 4 plus a larger table that could fit 6 on the benches. however, the day I visited, they had another vendor in store selling cuban pancakes and her setup took over the whole table. there's a patio outside too but since this place is so small it's very little guarantee you'd get a spot to sit at if you plan on staying a while. I got the kuro goma latte and it was delicious! perfect blend of coffee and sesame, and a little toastiness. I ordered some bottles to go on my way out as well and after trying the ube latte at home I added a shot of espresso and it was perfection. the ube flavor is strong, a little on the sweet side for me so adding the coffee was the best blend! it was nonstop people coming in and out! this little spot can get so busy and it's exciting to see a local shop doing really well. I look forward to sharing the bottles and this new find with friends! read more

OK, now I see why so many love Neko Koneko so very much. Drinks and dessert breads are delicious. My love started when Super Yelper Kyra K gifted me a melon drink from Neko Koneko. Thank you Kyra! I am a believer now. :- D I understand why your trips to Neko Koneko turn into a bag full of deliciousness! I enjoyed the melon drink two days, first straight. The second day I added a cup of coffee to kick in some caffeine. Both variations ahmazing! Today after lunch, a friend and I were looking for something slightly sweet to finish off our meal. We both wanted to see the store so headed over to Liliha. At first the drinks seemed a little pricey but my Chinese brain got to work and realized, if using an American Savings card to pay one gets a discount. Then found out there is a customer loyalty rewards program associated with phone #. Not sure what the prize is still, fun anticipating something. Lol. The sampling really helped. Helped me want so many flavors! What I got: Hojicha latte - refreshing and delicious 9/10 Black sesame cold brew - slightly sweeter, definitely easy going down, almost like chocolate milk 9/10 Iced tea ume - tart and refreshing, made with hibiscus tea. Good for the soul and the health! 10/10 Will be back for all the above and perhaps a sampling of others read more

Walked in and very cute atmosphere, had some music playing that was fitting the vibe but a very tiny shop to navigate around. There's a variety of drinks from in-house specials to bottle cold brews along with pastries to choose from. Since it was already crowded we decided to grab the cold brew bottles to go. read more

Parked right outside since I was picking up a sandwich from Bella banh mi, street parking. But I had no coins!! So I walked in to buy a drink and as I pulled out a 10, the cashier said they're cashless :( Drinks are a bit over priced and have a loooooot of ice. I got the mango iced tea. It was pleasant, tasted kind of like a mango calpico without the tang. It has oat milk, so I'm not sure why it made my stomach hurt. Not really worth it. read more
Little quaint shop nestled in Liliha that offers a plethora of hot and cold coffee and teas, along with desserts. There are two tables in the shop where patrons can enjoy their drinks while chatting with friends or working on laptops. The tables have cute Japanese games and books. The little plants throughout add to the homestyle feel. The comfy ambiance with large screen TV makes for a nice spot to visit. The shop is very clean, including the kitchen area and the refrigerator that stores all these wonderful specialty drinks. We tried many samples before choosing what to order. I ended up choosing the cold brew Shiro which was delicious! The ume infused tea will be my next one to enjoy with a splash of vodka! Parking on Liliha is a bit of a challenge, but sometimes you get lucky to find parking in front of the shop. It's worth the walk if you don't find parking nearby. Price point is not too bad considering they use good quality ingredients that blend so well together, as well as the containers that can be repurposed. We need to support local businesses and so absolutely yes that I will be returning again and again. read more
This place is such a vibe! I'm a sucker for cute coffee shops. The aesthetic is on point and makes me want to jump on a plane to Japan lol. They offer a selection of flavored oat milk and some mixed with cold brew. My favorites were the Melon and Matcha! The Melon is like drinking a Melona ice cream. They also offer in store specials, I tried the BLACKPINK Drink (strawberry with caramel drizzle), and the Borahae Blueberry Latte. The blueberry is definitely one of my favorite coffee drinks I've had. The blueberry flavor is subtle and it's just perfect. read more
A small and cozy coffee shop, I ended up trying a blueberry coffee (forget the name) and it was an extremely satisfying pairing - my friend got the Kuro Goma and a few other coffees to bring back, and they tasted pretty great as well! They have LOTS of flavors of coffee/drinks though, so I'd recommend any of them for people looking for quality coffee at an aesthetically pleasing shop - Miguel Morales Photography read more

I've passed this cute spot multiple times on Liliha St. Parking is limited to street meter parking, with 3 directly in front of the store. You can preorder for same day pick up. According to their website you can place orders starting at 7am for same day pick up. Preorder for Saturday pick up opens on their website site on Tues and they have other items that are not on their regular menu. I was quite surprised and please with the quality and flavors of their drinks. My faves and go to are Honey Cinnamon Latte or the Maple Latte. In general, flavors like those aren't common in Hawaii so of course as soon as I saw them I just had to get them and they definitely did not disappoint. Space inside is limited to 2 small tables. I would be surprised if there's a table open for use. Someone is always sitting there. Oh! Bring your own bag if you decide to purchase a few bottles. They have boxes but no bags. read more
I've been meaning to go here for months, and a rainy Sunday afternoon proved to be the perfect moment to stop by with some friends. The interior, though small, is so charmingly decorated with such care and delightful details. Although known more for their bottled beverages, I opted for- and thoroughly enjoyed- a freshly made drink. The blueberry matcha was delicious, and is probably one of my top three matchas on island now! At first I wondered if I'd misordered because there was no visible blueberry-ness, but the first sip proved me wrong. The blueberry flavor was very present but still paired beautifully with matcha and oat milk, and the blueberry scented cold foam on top was wizardry. Overall, it was a nice sweet treat, while being not-too-sweet! My companion also got their yuzu chocolate oat coffee drink, and while that seemed like an ambitious combination, let me tell you... they pulled it off! The flavor notes come in waves and it was refreshingly unique and well balanced. The staff are all so friendly, fashionable, and chill. Also enjoyed their ube swirl bread to share. Also, LOVE that they are open later til 8:30pm, which is so rare for cafes here! Will be coming back to sample lots more and also check out their covered patio next time :) read more
Location was easy to find, parking can be tricky but don't stress because it's so worth it. I have been obsessed with their drinks from the matcha to the ube latte, they are all perfect. Order online and pick up same day or order inside. It's so tiny and cute but simple and perfect. They are worth trying out, I honestly am loving them more than Starbucks. read more
talk both a coffee shop with tasty drinks and a killer vibe! if you love cats this place is for you with all their cute cat decor! Also vibey music and very kind people Super trendy drinks that also taste great! One of my favorite teas is the Mango7! Super refreshing and creamy and big hints of apricot love this place, and you can order a few coffees and take them home! read more
I work around the area so it is very convenient to go to this cafe. The drinks are on the pricey side but they come with ice and if you pour it out, it's 1.5-2 servings. Staff is always friendly and helpful with the selection. Cute and clean interior. I have tried hibiscus plum tea, shiro cold brew, chairo cold brew and matcha latte so far. They're all good. Cold brew is on the sweeter side then I usually like but with ice it helps tone the sweetness down. Would come again and try everything! read more

Took my nieces here for the first time this morning and we were blown away by the amazing customer service and quality of their drinks. Thank you Erin and staff for creating a welcoming and aesthetic atmosphere with high quality products! Their matcha cold brew is something I don't mind driving to town for. Also tried their caramel macnut and will need to come back for that. read more

Small little cozy location. I think the only down side to the place it the parking (but that's if you're looking for upfront parking). For myself, I don't mind parking at all. I've tried 5 types of cold brews so far. Looking forward to trying more of their cold brews. I'd recommend this place if you're looking to try all kinds of coffee from different locations. read more

Oat milk lattes and coffee cold brews in a tiny cute cat themed japanese cafe. This place I feel like is a Hidden Gem because you would not even notice it there but I was with my friend who was a local and he loves this place. We walk in and all of the stuff are super friendly and they sell 16 oz bottled pre-made lattes. All different flavors! I got the matcha latte and the Ube latte and they were both delicious. You can choose some with coffee and some without. However they are pre-made so you can't vary the sugar level so that is disappointing as I like to have lower sugar drinks like when I get a standard milk tea or latte that's made to order. I would definitely return to try some of the other drinks if I've ever over this way and would love to try their pastries as they had a small assortment of pastries on the counter. read more

Super cute and cozy cafe. My favorite drinks were their Blueberry matcha and their iced Ume tea! My only downside was the wait time to get your order took forever each time I came. It took 15 minutes to get a bottled ume tea with a warmed bread, so wouldn't recommend coming here if you are in a rush. Other than that eveything I tried was delicious! read more

Immediately walked in and I was obsessed. It's cute, cozy and very welcoming. The worker was very sweet and very kind and very informative since it was our first time. Finally came here! It is located around the corner of Liliha st. Very close to Liliha bakery. It was an easy to find a street parking by the store on Thursday morning. When I opened the door, it reminded me of 80's Shimokitazawa in Tokyo! I was about to order online but I wanted to see how they were so I just walked in. I couldn't choose which one I wanted to order and the lady asked me to try samples. Ended up, I got Chairo latte, Matcha latte(Matcha is from Japan) and Hojicha latte by bottle. And Goma latte by cup. I chose Chairo cuz of less sweetness. They have some beautiful plants, books. I found Japanese magazine!! I really like all design in the store. The lady at cashier was so nice! Definitely I go back and get melon and strawberry next time! Highly recommended. read more

When there's a line before they open you know it's good! The kid found this spot on TikTok so we made the drive. Cute little spot that is like a Pressed but for coffee. They have a cooler full of ready made bottled coffee...and you can ask for cups of ice. One bottle is enough to make 2 drinks. I also got the ume iced tea and it was the perfect taste of ume...not too overpowering and not sweet. The caramel macnut was perfect!! read more
Stopped at this place on our way to the North Shore. It was a cute little hole in the wall place. They make the cold brew themselves and it comes bottled. It also has a bunch of cute Japanese cats decorated every where. We got the Mocha cold brew. I thought it was a little bitter so I would get something else next time. But the in house special of cold brew with oat milk was the better choice. I added in their house made vanilla syrup and it was magical. read more

Cute cafe and friendly staff! The drinks are delicious and dine-in is so aesthetic! My only complaint would be parking!! There are only 3 street parking stall markings on a busy road! I would suggest bringing 2 ppl so that one person can wait in the car while the other goes inside to order because you have to be very lucky to find parking. read more

Who knew melon and strawberry almond milk could taste so smooth? As an Asian with slight lactose-intolerance, I'm so glad NekoKoneko brought this concept to Hawaii. I can finally enjoy flavored milk! Since the cafe is so young, there's not much yet. But what they do have is worth visiting over and over; you're gonna run out of that melon milk fast if you love it as much as I do! I'm not a coffee person so I didn't pay attention to any other products. Again, since the cafe is still young I'm looking forward to seeing how it expands it's menu. Currently, the online order system is the way to go to guarantee you get your hands on their drinks because I've heard they sell out, but I walked in around 12:30 and they still had strawberry and melon available (literally the only two things I buy from them). Overall, cute little cafe that's hidden in plain sight with Japanese roots and decor. Parking is hard to find, but when you get a spot, you did it. You can savor your accomplishment inside with great drinks, maybe even read some manga or enjoy what's playing on the screen. There's not many seats, but I wouldn't mind sitting down on the ground to just enjoy the peaceful environment in the middle of busy Liliha. read more

I WANT TO TRY THEM ALL! I finally got to taste the three flavors I got from my first visit and THESE ARE SO GOOD! I got the Caramel Macnut, Ube Latte and Cold Brew "Shiro". Their coffee is definitely on the sweet side but I'm into that, plus they offer a cup of ice if you'd like to dilute it a little or just keep it cold. Service is fast since majority of the drinks are pre-made and in a fridge - easy grab and go.. which is good because parking can be tough with limited street parking. Not sure how often they change their menu because I was able to get their Ube Latte which I didn't see on their Feb 1 menu (I came on the 4th) I guess it's based on availability? Cool they constantly have a variety of flavors. Honestly, the Ube was my favorite flavor from the three SO FAR.. since I'm going to come back have try more lol. Had my friends try the flavors I got and they also give it 5/5. Highly recommend! read more

This is probably my favorite coffee place in Oahu! They have variety of selections to choose from. The place is dainty but really cute. The staff's very friendly! I've tried most of their drinks and all of these are delicious! The drinks are really creamy and flavorful. I love that they offer a cup of ice on the side and that you get the full 16 oz of drink that you're paying for. I always recommend this place to people who asks me for the best coffee place! read more

Neko Koneko, a Japanese-inspired coffee shop in Oahu. Whaaatt?!?!? Always a first time for everything right? This cafe is located at 1658 Liliha St. This is the highlight of this street! You won't miss this cute green exterior cafe. For parking, check my photo below to know about it (when there's a will, there's a way lol cliché much). The interior has one bigger table which can seat a couple of people and there are 2 small drink tables (again, check my photos to see how they look like). No restrooms so if you decide to hang in here, I suggest clearing your bladder beforehand. I love the designs they put here and some cool reading materials too! Love how they put some plants around as well. The cashier was friendly and allowed me to free taste some of the drinks since it was my first time. They have fresh bottled spectacular cold brew drinks to choose from or their in-store drinks (all others have yet to try!) I sampled like two of their drinks (tasted amaaaaazing!!)--and that time I decided to go with the bottled "Kuro Goma" (black sesame). It is oat milk based, using organic coffee and black sesame. The result was just the perfect blend. This automatically made me think, "I will try their other drinks for every visit from now on." No one can stop me from trying their other drinks right? Not even a recession. Their website is nekokonekocafe.com (yes you can order online for same day pick up. Thanks technology!) and if you're an IG person, you can find them by looking up nekokoneko.cafe There is no excuse to drop by here quickly to get some~ I'm not a hardcore coffee person, but Neko Koneko might just turn me into one. read more

If you are visiting Hawaii and want to change your coffee routine, be sure to check out Neko Koneko. It was recommended to me by an acquaintance of mine to check out since I've never been and it is definitely a great spot to check out. It is a hidden gem located up Liliha St. Parking is very limited as it is street parking. They conveniently offer online orders for same day pick up if I'm not mistaken, so if you're in a rush and looking to just grab and go, that might be the best option for you! I love that they offer samples before you decide on which cold brew to purchase. Definitely coming back if I'm ever in Hawaii again! read more
